Luckily I do not play with Viking, nor have I owned one for years. And so far I haven't encountered any Shaft w/ Berserk Reactors.

Since I am not too comfortable with downloading programs/software/etc. in general, I want to ask if the client-version is worth downloading. To what extent is the TO-client better in performance than the internet-version? How do other players experience the client?

I haven't invested in any MUs myself early game either, it's a waste of your crystals and you don't relatively gain that much of an advantage in battle. Till Warrant Officer 2 I didn't buy a single item, but I still managed to do better than other tankers. First thing I bought was Predator kit M1, in which I did invest my crystals. Recently I started a new account on which I didn't spend any crystals too. But because of the modification-update, buying new equipment is practically mandatory since you and other players get to unlock items relatively faster

Not by many people, but those players who master this augment are true monsters in battle As a matter of fact, I see more people using RRE than before the augment-update, perhaps due to the decreased price?

I am not having any disgust towards you either, I am teasing a little bit to be honest, hehe. I am also honest if I say that I am on a huge killing-spree the whole time, gold bonuses are actually a nice addition to gameplay which I enjoy too. However I do kill people if I feel like it or if my position is not favorable, but it is no hard feelings. Also, I am going to be rather busy with my studies and research so chances are that I wont partake in such events anyways, leave alone meeting you in battle. But if the time comes; may the strongest tanker win ?

If I am not mistaken, the general gamemode for such events is Deathmatch, therefore the main goal of the battle is killing your enemies. Golds are just a bonus, always have been. Most people are going crazy on it, I not necessarily. This is my view on such events I am discussing here and I have my own pleasures with such events, I am not defending anyone here - perhaps you could say I share a similar mindset with Amagi, but I don't think he needs me to emphasize his view. I would be glad to see you in game :] But if you intend to kill me, there is little to no time to catch a gold box at the same time. It doesn't come as a surprise that other detest the thought of being interrupted while gold-hunting, I think only a small group of players don't really care about golds. I don't care about attention, neither do I care if people hate me for killing. Such gold-events bring several aspects into gameplay and I am happy to make use of them in my own way. I don't reckon saying this is about skill, but I do find it clever to make use of those situation. Reacting to @DieselPlatinum's comment, I find 1000 crystals not worth fighting for as well. Most of these certain events have a duration of only a couple of days, in which the average players might manage to get some tens of thousands of crystals, perhaps 10k-20k, which I do not consider crazy. Containers are considerable, but most rewards aren't astounding anyways

Technically, you have more chances of taking gold boxes when you kill other players. If I am trying to catch a gold, I am filtering and see what tankers are weak (or even (too) strong), aren't paying attention, or are already damaged - and then kill them. It would be interesting to see a huge kill-manifest among players when a gold drops. But I would probably be waiting around a corner till it is silent or I will kill the next tanker attempting to take the box... because it is fun to do so

Chasing and catching golds and ignoring the goal of the battle is ones individual choice, making an agreement or rule that no one should fire during a gold drop is nonsensical and ridiculous. I see it as an advantage when people ignore gameplay when they hear the air alarm, killing unaware tankers is a smart tactic I regularly use and it is very effective. Start blaming me for destroying your potential catches and being angry with me, but in the end it is I who rises above everyone else on the leaderboard and gets the highest battlefund. I am not saying I only enjoy destroying other players during golds (because I do), from time to time I might take a chance to take a gold box, but in the end it is all about kill-farming for me. Next gold event, if I see you in a battle, I will make sure I keep my crosshair focused especially on you (nothing personal) ? Also, as @mjmj5558 already said, Amagi is a skilled Shaft-user, he regularly uses Light Capacitors and is quite successful doing so. Due to Shaft's buff, he has switched to using Rapid Fire Mode more often, simply because it makes exp-farming more efficient, mostly due to these bonuses. I have done the same, using RFM gives me much more exp - even though it is extremely overpowered which I am not fond of, it does works I guess. I try not to make a habit out of it, but for the time being I will be on a kill-streak

Stock Shaft functions just fine, there is nothing much to remark on it, but augments offer more variety in gameplay. I dont really need to explain how HC works, slower charging gives more damage. It is best suited for taking down Juggernauts or when you are facing strong opponents while having the space to settle yourself without being blasted within seconds. Booster supports Shaft a lot; apart from the notorious RFM, it allows SBE to OHKO medium hulls with one arcade shot and it boosts HC's damage by a lot too, guaranteeing to one shot a Juggernaut - but besides that, it can be clever to have this drone equipped in case you want to secure your chances of killing an enemy EDIT: it does not need a drone to be good perse; again, without one it serves you well

Both SBE and LC are really good augments and will teach you how to be a true master with Shaft. RFM works too, but since last update it is even stronger than usual and requires few skill to practise and learn, making it less fun to use

Being less mobile is exactly why I find Shaft more exciting to use, it's more of a challenge to be a good Shaft player than using Gauss (in my honest opinion). Plus, Shaft can be aggressive and successfull in offence too - without using RFM - and it does more damage, to consider

I'm not comfortable with Shaft's buff and I am especially referring to Rapid Fire Mode, the latter didn't need a further upgrade - heck why did it got its sniping-penalty removed, it never needed to rely on sniping anyways. And making the pause between arcade shots even smaller is not something I was waiting for either... Though, I am content with Shafts reload-increase, but I wouldn't find this buff necessary.

I'd suggest Shaft since it is more challenging and fun to use.
