IMPORTANT NOTE In order for your progress with the mission relating to planting 200 mines, you MUST plant them yourself. That is to say, the only way to make progress in this mission is to press the "5" button and plant a mine.
-
I don't play it much, so can't say. Just trying to help because we have no direct control over updates.
-
Even if you tried to make a small match with like 2-4 friends?
-
I just wanted to ask, but if XP/BP players are interested in playing the mode while earning crystals, why not make a regular battle and invite only your friends and play XP/BP together as a temporary work around?
-
Without spending large amounts of money, it will no longer be possible to get augmentations. Thus, I feel it would be a good idea to have an augmentations only container. This container should contain all 110 augmentations. Additionally, you should get 1 container each week. When you open said container, it should drop 1 random alteration to you. I realize that this might lower immediate money that would be made easier from containers, however at the same time the new system to get augmentations makes it almost impossible to get augmentations at all, let alone for the equipment you want.
-
Yes, but an equally viable solution is to play only XP/BP. Additionally, only Hunter can be used to do so. If I don't want to use Hunter, then the game isn't well-balanced.
-
Well yes, but that doesn't do anything for the current situation. Honestly, I think it would be better if Firebird's damage could be adjusted depending on the alteration and enemy's hull alteration used. If I use compact tanks against an enemy without Fire immunity, the afterburn should be slightly reduced. Similarly, if I use compact tanks against enemies with Fire immunity, I should be given a slight boost in direct damage.
-
But see the problem is, if players use Fire immunity Firebird becomes very underpowered without incendiary mix. If players don't use Fire immunity, Compact tanks makes Firebird too Overpowered. Moreover, obtaining those alterations for a hull you actually use will more likely than not take a long time.
-
I can understand the frustration behind alterations being introduced for hulls, however there isn't much cause to complain for Ultra containers. Tanki didn't have to create any of the missions they did. They could have just launched those containers straight away in the shop, but they didn't. They gave players a chance to get 12 free containers. Now granted you didn't get the best rewards (skins and millions of crystals), but it's a nice gesture from their end to give away 12 for free. The point being, Tanki didn't have to give out these rewards but they still did. In regards to what will happen to hull alterations in how they're to be obtained from containers, it adds more difficulty in obtaining them for non-buyers but also buyers. Let's be logical. If people wanted to advance in this game, kits, crystals and supplies are the way to go. Only the players who have a full garage are interested in the thrill of skins and containers. This significantly reduces how many people buy containers. Even in this smaller group, the trend seems to be that people don't spend that much money on Tanki precisely because they don't need anything new. They have the equipment to get skin containers and thus skins easily. If they want a specific one, they pay for the tankoins to get that specifc skin. What I'm getting at is that this is probably the fairest way to distribute alterations for hulls. Buyers do have an advantage in that they can get alterations first, but since most buyers don't spend money on loads and loads of containers, it's safe to say that this method of acquisiton will aloow alterations to be introduced in small quantities slowly. The problem with introducing alterations with crystals is that quickly everyone will have them. If everyone has the alterations, then that's going to be annoying to you because your alteration doesn't make you unique. For example, if you got the Fire immunity alteration and you use Firebird with compact tanks, and then suddenly a whole bunch of people buy the alteration, your having the alteration isn't going to be helpful. In fact, the quick distribution of the alteration will quickly make Firebird useless unless you use Incendiary mix. If you look at the current Railgun with LCR or RD meta, it's primarily because everyone has protections. It's so annoying because the alterations are pretty easy to get for the most part, and if you have them then you're going to be able to easily annoy players. Had LCR and RD been introduced in a similar manner, players would have been forced to use other alterations and maybe even prefered them over those 2. Lastly, there are 14 turrets in game. I'm fairly certain that not everyone complaining about Fire and freeze immunity or Stun/EMP immunity actually loves Firebird, Freeze and Hunter with it. Even if you do, you can adapt by using Incendiary mix/Corossive mix. As for EMP or Stun immunity, neither are capable of completely ruining Hunter's OD. EMP immunity means that you still drop flags and stop in your tracks even if you don't lose supplies. On top of this, you have a full 5 seconds to destroy tanks as they literally stand still. If you use EMP immunity, then you don't get frozen, but losing supplies and dropping objects is still quite deadly. If you want to know about a game which ruined itself, look to Asphalt 8. You cannot even progress in the slightest if you don't spend 1600 or so USD. That's to get just 1 car. Those developers have had players consistently telling them for the past year that they're doing nothing right. The CM doesn't know anything, the customer care doesn't care about anything. They don't fix bugs. If I were to give an analogy for Tanki, then what Asphalt 8 has done is restricted battle earnings to 200 crystals, raised prices for items to roughly 5,600,000 for Mk7's and forced players to at least 1-2 million tankions to fully upgrade a single hull or turret. Also, you'd have to pay close to 100 USD for 5000 tankoins. By contrast, here we have a great CM who's involved, along with helpers who care about the game and try to make things interesting. If you want to be able to get the best garage right away, then having to pay for it is not wrong. At the end of the day, like everything else, you win some, you lose some. You might get 125 mines 2 or 3 times and then win a skin or a mountain of crystals. Similarly, you might have to change your playing style from update to update, and that's because this game is still alive. You can't have the latest and best things right when they get released without paying money. To expect to get them is not realistic at all.

Due to the recent change that makes it so that status effects need seperate alterations to be dealt with, I feel that Firebird's afterburn really needs to get nerfed. The problem is that players can use Firebird without worrying about enemy protections if they use compact tanks (or really any other alteration barring incendiary mix). The purpose of protection modules is to protect. Since they can't do that and Firebird's afterburn is quite powerful, I feel it needs a nerf. Supplies can't be the answer here. It doesn't make sense to either have Firebird be broken and Overpowered (if you don't have immunity) but completely useless if you have immunity along with protection. There should be a middle ground which doesn't involve Firebirds hijacking the meta. Thanks for reading!

Playing Tanki without Buying Anything - Completed
LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH replied to Critical_Mass in Writers' Corner
Approved! A well-written review for the most part. It was interesting to hear of your journey. Certainly one of the few of its kind if not the only. I did find a few small problems when reading through it though: A few strange sentences/phrases: These didn't particularly get in the way of what you wrote, but it could be improved. The solution is quite simple. Just re-read what you wrote. Often times, you'll catch instances of the nature I am about to mention. Three examples of Phrases I changed are: "...started a challenge for myself where I don’t buy anything but just used micro upgrades (yes I do realise I buy micro upgrade)..." "...I might buy a drone, Brutus appeals as it continues..." "...Legend level" A more clear structure: Not a major deal. Ideally, you want to come up with sections, sub sections and sub sub sections where possible and give these identifiers. That is to say, you develop a code. For example, a section can use 16 point, bold and orange. A sub section can be a bolded 14 point orange font. Lastly, you can use regular bolded font with white for sub sub sections. Just an example. -
Memes. The holy grail of quick entertainment. A form of media so versatile that you can literally use it in any way you please. Whether you wish to sneak in a quick insult or mock someone to a greater extent, memes are here to help. Today I bring you the opportunity to show-off your meme-making skills. The task is quite simplistic. All you have to do, is make a meme about one of five images from Tanki. Each image will include a caption. Feel free to use any part of the image to create your meme. Criteria: Your meme will be judged on: How funny it is How well it relates to the option you chose Rules: Your entry must be submitted to this form. In order to do so, you will need to provide a link to your image. Your meme must be based upon 1 of the 5 options available. Your meme must be follow the game rules. This means that you cannot make a meme that is suggestive of Alcohol, excessive violence, illegal substance, etc. Additionally, it cannot be offensive to social, religious or other groups of people. Option 4: Catching an April Fools goldbox on the test server. Taken around late April. Option 5: A fairly self-explanatory conversation in a battle. Here is an example of a meme I created. Please note that this image is NOT in the options and thus entries involving it won't be considered. In this picture, I was minding my own business in a Rio Parkour, when I was attacked by a wild @kaisdf. Here is the meme I used: Prizes: Here are the prizes: First place: 50,000 Crystals. Second place: 40,000 Crystals. Third place: 30 000 Crystals. Consolation prize for deserving entries (10,000 Crystals). Additionally, if you use the same meme template as me, you win 5,000 crystals. Pretty good rewards IMO. I got roughly 30k Crystals, 250 supplies pack, EMP immunity and a brand new blue shot effect for my prized Magnum.
-
Really hope so. I want to get my hands on that wicked Thunder Ultra and Viking Ultra skin combo.
-
Now this is awesome! I love the new missions in that they're very doable without too much work. Excellent I think! Thank you! Truth be told I was so happy to see Ultra boxes and so sad to see that they don't contain Ultra skins.

review The top 5 best and worst skins in Tanki online
LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH replied to LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH in The top 5 best and worst skins in Tanki online Newspaper Archive
Since the creation of Tanki, exclusivity has been something that almost everyone desires. Whether it be through displaying rare protection modules, fully upgraded equipment that just launched, or through exotic new skins, the desire to be unique often finds its way into the choices made by tankers. In this article, We will be going over the top 5 best and top 5 worst skins in Tanki. The criteria: Since aesthetics are very much a subjective issue, We will be deciding upon which skins look the best and worst based upon the primary features. For example, the principal features of XT skins pertain to animal motifs using gold in the case of turrets. The Prime series consists of skins that are meant to look highly futuristic. Lastly, Ultra skins are intended to have a highly mechanical look with the added benefit of showing animations such as recoil. So let's jump right into it then! Top 5 worst skins: The following five skins are the ones which I found to look the absolute worst. They failed to fulfill the criteria set by members of the same series, or they don't look as good as expected. #5 Worst Twins XT: This is a skin that sets out to be unique in the line of XT skins, but winds up having too much going on. The official description suggests that this skin is supposed to be covered in dinosaur hide while being infused with lava from Indonesian volcanoes. The primary features of the skin are the chameleon-like skin (in silver), the chameleon-like skin (in gold), regular metal, and a lava colored orangish-red in the front of the turret near the barrels. This skin certainly does a good job of setting itself apart from other skins, but it's almost confusing to look at the skin. There's too much silver and not enough gold, which is a problem XT skins shouldn't have. Additionally, while there is symmetry in the overall look, the design patterns look somewhat strange. Certainly far from the worst, but also quite far from the best. Rating: 4/10 #4 Worst Titan prime: One of the primary features of hulls, as they are upgraded to higher and higher levels, is that there's more metal added on to the hull. Titan Prime will make you feel like your hull got downgraded. There is less metal than the stock version, which in itself is quite bothersome. The metal that is there isn't utilized very well. Generally speaking, there appear to be patches of metal and patches of areas without any silver metal. As goes the requirement of looking futuristic, this hull pretty much throws it out of the window. The overall look is less futuristic and more of a tank that was prepared for emergency use and thus is only coated with metal in areas where it will be vulnerable to fire. All in all, this skin is quite disappointing. Rating: 4/10 #3 worst Railgun Legacy: This skin being here might upset a lot of people, but to be completely frank, Legacy skins don't fit into the game anymore. The biggest problem I feel with this skin is the extreme amount of red dots and circles. These make the turret look very, very strange because the red dots aren't the kind that makes the turret look intimidating like how Shaft looked in the days of old. The red dots look strange, and that's about all there is to say on them. In addition to this, the presence of so many different pieces of on the skin itself (divided by the black lining) gives the turret a very cheap look. In terms of looking like Railgun in the good old days, I imagine this skin does do a fantastic job. Nonetheless, it looks quite ugly. Rating: 3/10 #2 Worst Railgun Prime: Where do I even start with this skin? This skin is horrible. I strongly dislike it. My biggest gripe? It just looks like Railgun Mk1 with a little bit of metal thrown on. The complete and total lack of metal is really apparent, and even the metal that is present has not really been utilized very well at all. The overall look of the turret is just horrible, and I really do regret having gotten it from its challenge. In terms of looking futuristic, I frankly think this skin more or less flunks the requirements. There's nothing futuristic about this turret whatsoever. It is, however, hideous, as I've already said. Rating: 0/10 #1 Worst Viking XT: This is by far the worst skin in all of Tanki Online. The expectation with an XT skin is that there will be a decent amount of gold on the hull so that it looks vastly superior to its stock counterpart. This skin utilizes extremely little gold on top of the hull, uses some extra silver, and gets the "XT" title slapped onto it. Frankly, this skin isn't really worth being called an XT. XT skins are supposed to be unique and exclusive (at least in aesthetic value, if not rarity). This hull feels as though it got a rushed job at the time of release. It certainly seems like not enough work was really put into designing the skin because this hull is very stingy with the gold. For reference, I don't even have the skin, and I still strongly dislike it, along with Tidebreaker. Words can't describe how ugly this skin is. But numbers can. I give it a -10i/10. Rating: -10i/10 Top 5 best: The following skins are the ones which I feel do a great job at nailing what they're going for or they look fantastic. #5 Best Striker XT: This skin is supposed to be based off marine life. The description in the garage suggests that this skin is modeled after fish, which though may be powerful are often reduced to the stereotype of gold fish. As go XT skins, this thing has been covered pretty generously in gold. The best part by far about this is how the design is quite strategically placed at the side of the barrels. To me at least, this gives the turret the look of a dragon spitting flaming projectiles onto its target, much like Smaug from the Hobbit movies. The red glow is also maximized in terms of use because it is used to highlight the eyes of the dragon. The white ridges present on top of the turret certainly give it a more regal and powerful look to. In terms of keeping in line with the XT series, this skin does a pretty good job. A prime ([member=Pun}ny right?) example of something Twins XT tried but miserably failed to be with its strange design. Rating: 9/10 #4 Best Thunder Ultra: This is one of my personal favorite skins for Thunder. Ultra skins are meant to be similar to skins in Tanki X. The general point of this series of skins is to be somewhat mechanical and mildly futuristic. With Thunder Ultra, this is particularly visible. There is a lot of metal generously scattered throughout the turret. Thunder Ultra uses a smaller amount of metal coating but still manages to give the turret a very intimidating and powerful look. The mechanical look is further amplified by the recoil animation of the barrel of the turret when you fire, which is really what makes this skin amazing to me. The overall look is somewhat slender; however, since the turret is supposed to look somewhat realistic, I find that to be an excellent addition to the skin. Rating: 10/10 #3 Best Gauss XT: One of the more recent additions to Tanki online (and among one of the most expensive), this XT skin's release means that every turret and hull as at least an XT skin. Gauss without a skin equipped looks like a turret that was built without much space or material to spare. Certainly far from bad, but it doesn't feel as complete. This skin will add a whole lot of golden armor to your turret without making the gold seem randomly splashed everywhere. The addition of what looks to be an eagle on the barrel is also a really lovely touch. Additionally, the texture of the skin looks smooth and sturdy at the same time, making the turret's looks feel somewhat completed. As go XT skins, this one utilizes the gold well and uses a lot of it to improve the appearance of the turret drastically. Rating: 10/10 #2 Best Dictator XT: This is an amazing skin. Among all the XT skins for hulls, no other hull manages to champion the gold and white colors in a balance that is so perfect. Most hulls tend to just incorporate a significant amount of gold into their design. Dictator XT takes this one step further by making the gold resemble wings, which I might add is a really, really nice addition on Tanki's part. Additionally, the white-ish silver outline towards where the turret is placed is also a minor but significant feature of the skin which pays tribute to the exceptional level of detail featured in this amazing skin. Lastly, the lights in the front of the turret are turned into a reddish color as opposed to the usual blue, giving the hull an even more fierce look. Without a doubt, this is the best XT skin for a hull. Rating: 10/10 #1 Best Viking Ultra: This is by far the best skin that I know of. The reason I love this skin is that it does something that no other series manages to do as well. It makes Viking look different. The slightly smaller, taller look without any skins is replaced by a shorter, sleeker, and seemingly more armored look. Additionally, a whole load of cool mechanics, such as being able to see the wheels inside the treads of the tank rotate, is added. The overall look is very mechanical, but not so in a way that would make the hull look rigid or awkward. The skin makes your hull look like it was built to fight the strongest of enemies. It also seems very sturdy and quite realistic. The only flaw that I dare point out in this beauty is that while jumping, the treads of the tank don't move, but that's a pretty minor gripe. All in all, absolutely stunning. Rating: 10/10 A note to the reader: Having one of the top 5 worst skins doesn't make your skin worthless, neither does having one of the top 5 best skins make your skin the best. At the end of the day, it's an achievement to have a skin at all, so no matter what skin you have be proud to don it in battle if you like it because that's all that really matters. These skins are simple my opinion and are not nesecarily fact. Except for Railgun prime, that thing is just horrible. Conclusion: Well that's all I have to say about skins. What are your favorite skins? Which ones do you hate? Leave a reply in the comments below! -
I do get that, but a small buff to the alteration would strike a better balance in terms of being just balanced, being able to deal with protections and such. I'm completely crazy for Thunder so I'm sorry if so many suggestions I make seem to deal with it. It's just that I feel that SCCM could be just a little better to be more balanced is all. Well certainly. I don't know if I speak for players. I certainly don't have any data to prove any claims I make. It's all experience from using the turret
-
I feel that Thunder's Small calibre charging machine should be given a buff. Perhaps instead of -20% on max and min damage -10% on max and min damage. That way, it can better deal with protections, and 10% winds up being less than 100 damage but makes the alteration a lot more appealing.
-
Technically you can just do the operations and get a number, although that number would have no meaning assigned to it.

Category Ideas for Game Modes!
LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH replied to Ilia.ArchangeI in Ideas and Suggestions
My suggestion is to create a new game mode which is highly futuristic. In this gamemode, the players should move twice the current maximum speed in a custom hull and turret. The hull should be particularly futuristic and the turret should have 3 different modes, 1 mode for firing sticky grenades (single tap fires it instantly with no travel time; tapping again 2 times after this single tap detonates the sticky grenade) a sort of sword which can be used to destroy tanks. When deployed, the sword takes the place of the turret. Useful for hitting enemies coming at you at high speeds because grenades will blow up in your face. Lastly, a Railgun type weapon which fires instantly with no reload. Lastly, the arena should be a futuristic grid, sort of like from Tron such that players can modify the terrain (raise or lower, perhaps with restricted range and time to allow for more interesting combat). Lastly, there should be a few interesting structures such as a loop which speeds players up, or a switch which when driven over causes a rocket to be randomly fired at players. -
Thank you for explaining this! To be perfectly honest, when I recently returned to Tanki (because you never leave, you just take a break) I too did not like the HTML 5 version very much. As time has gone on, I've grown to love this version far more than the flash version because at some point, practicality does overtake nostalgia. I quite like all the extra things and the layout now. I do think it took me a few weeks to get used to it, but I do have to say it's quite a bit better. I certainly hope that with the Flash version going away soon, this version gets all the amazing updates that are no doubt in store for Tanki.

I feel it would be FAR easier for non-russian speakers to navigate through the battle list if a column containing the map in which the battle is is displayed in English. -
Article approved! Quite an interesting piece coming in at an interesting time when many nations are in quarantine. I didn't find anything that needs to be changed. Certainly on the darker side of things, but enjoyable nonetheless. You did use a lot of great imagery though.

The special missions seem a bit too long at times for the average player. I realize they're designed for above average players, but it might be nice to give rewards with more missions as such: Rather than a 20 day, 100k point mission to get 10 days of premium, you can have 4 missions. Getting 500,1000,1500 and 2000 kills. The prize for the 500 kills mission can be 2.5 premium days, and another 2.5 days for the next. That way, those of us who don't/can't spend too much time on Tanki can also benefit, while letting the value of the mission be most to those who dedicate the time. Probably gonna get rejected but it was worth a shot to try.
