Wouldn't you like to spend that time doing something like playing a different game you enjoy more though? I mean, I would. If you've stopped playing the game, then the updates really don't concern you.
-
What I mean is, imagine you started playing in say April 2021. You wouldn't likely be aware of what Tanki was in 2015 or 2017 and so would not be particularly likely to dislike the game. Take a look at google play reviews.
-
Well I'm assuming that if you're still on the forum, then the game's still in your mind even at the back. Well, if you've quit the game, then it shouldn't really matter what happens to the game I would say. Otherwise, you haven't actually quit the game. I do agree on that distinction though. It's your free time. Why spend it doing something you don't enjoy doing?
-
Right, but what is the use of still going to McDonalds day after day, only to ask for a refund? I'm not defending the developers. Nowhere did I say that this update is a good thing. I am asking players who are irritated with their every update (such as you) why they play Tanki. The people on the forum aren't the majority of the playerbase though. For example, you could also look purely at googleplay reviews and based on that conclude that lots of people think the game is great. Yes, the good old Tanki was fun, I agree. I also loved the days when the most complicated thing in the game was which paint protects you against which turret. But, with time things change and the change doesn't have to be only for the better. The only reason these things are wrong to players is because they're used to a different and older Tanki. Well, that Tanki is gone. It's not coming back. No amount of wishing for it to come back can bring it back either. My point is, if you love that Tanki and not this new one, and if you don't like any of the new updates, then move on. I'd like to say, moderators have no influence over what happens in the game in regards to updates. Making a good game is something that's much easier to say than do. If you look back at it, lots of players in 2017 talked about how the game was becoming P2W and didn't enjoy it and wished they could go back to 2015. Then in 2019 with the release of EMP salvo, 2017 became the new 2015 and people didn't like 2019. Now, 2021 is the new 2017 and 2019 is the new 2015. Yes you spent 8 years of your life. I know that's a long time, but this is the sunk cost fallacy. You don't need to keep playing if you don't enjoy the game. I'm not. Being angry is great, but then you try to determine why it is you are angry, and decide if there's something you can do it. In this situation, your anger stems from Tanki's updates, however there's absolutely nothing you can do that will change them. I never said you were imagining the game is going in a bad direction. I simply said, if you don't enjoy the majority of the updates of a game then just quit. To be clear, I'm not saying "if you don't like it, move on" just to say "suck it up." I've been where some of you are. I played a game once, which I too greatly enjoyed. Then it changed to the point where all I did was go ahead and complain on the forum about how very much I don't like playing the game, and I still continued playing the game. I spent 2 years on it and though that's not very long, it was a lot of wasted time which I didn't want to go down the drain. Ultimately though, I had enough and just completely cut it off. No visiting said game's forum, facebook page, homepage. I uninstalled the game from all my devices. I was, without a doubt, MUCH happier for it because I was no longer doing something I don't enjoy. It was hard for me to actually leave it, and I can only imagine that if some of you who've been playing for 8 years decide to leave it will not be an easy task. I know it would be nice if Tanki just went back to being that simple game from 2017, but the fact is that's not happening. So, don't make the same mistake that I did and move on if you don't enjoy the game.
-
If you're so disappointed with everything Tanki is doing, then move on my friend. That's not what I'm saying. I can understand if you don't like every update. I'm not really happy with this one either. What I'm saying is that posting the same things over and over isn't going to change it. By playing the game, you're choosing to spend your time here. My point is, if you're not enjoying yourself in the game then don't play. I'm not saying blindly just be happy with every update. But, if on the whole you don't enjoy playing then don't. For me, there are things I don't like, such as EMP salvo or this change to the battle pass. But, being a helper I've made friends who I enjoy playing with, and so I stay. In an analogy, say you go to McDonalds every day. You buy yourself a burger for lunch, eat it and talk about how you didn't like it at all and how McDonalds is a horrible place to get food from. Then you keep going back to Mcdonalds every day and repeating the cycle. Why not go to a different place to eat instead?

Okay, but how does being "honest with myself" change the updates in Tanki? There's no benefit in throwing insults around or saying the same thing for months on end. If anything, people generally will pay you less attention because of the way you're saying things. At some point, if you don't enjoy the game move on. I see a lot of people on the forum who are quite dissatisfied with Tanki, will talk about how the game is unplayable and still continue to play the game or check the forum or some combination of these two. I'm not saying you be 100% happy with each update. I know I'm not. But if you're unhappy with most/every update then that's a good sign that you should find some other game to play rather than spend your time on the forum talking about how angry you are.
-
Well I believe I just did. I said in my post earlier that I wasn't pleased about the increase in star requirements and prices. I generally don't go out of my way as non-helpers do and throw insults or such because that's not going to do anything. Also, a lot of times people react very negatively to things which aren't even remotely bad. For example, a couple months ago when hot sales were announced the topic was filled with negative criticism, even though nobody was affected negatively. Similarly, lots of non-buyers were unhappy with the space event a few weeks ago. The reason being that they couldn't get Crysis for free. Why would Tanki give away Crysis, a drone exclusive to the rarest tier of utlra containers, for free to people? I mean yes they said that the most persistent tankers will get it, but it should have been clear from the start that non-buyers will most likely not obtain it. I wasn't fond of the event either frankly, because I felt like they could have done a lot more to make it more interesting and immersive. Exactly what would I accomplish by saying that "this is a disgraceful update"? You've been saying these things for months now cosmic and I don't believe you've had any effect of what happens in the game. As for your post, I don't think there was a need to remove the upgrade option (in fact, I don't think there's any use in upgrading unless you're at mk7 or have lots of crystals but that's a separate matter). I think it's also obvious that the reason they increased the price for the battle pass is to get players to buy. I've also said this before, but obviously Tanki will introduce updates with content which players have to pay for. Tanki is free to play (as in unlike say GTA 5 you don't have to pay an upfront cost to even have a game account), so obviously it will have these kinds of in-game transactions. Exactly what will being angry help you do? You can be angry, but Tanki isn't going to change because you're angry. Frankly, if you're so dissatisfied with the game then consider playing something else. You don't have to stay and play Tanki. You can just play a different game rather than being angry.
-
I'm happy to get 2 augments I've wanted for over an year now. Nowhere did I say that the increase in price for the battle pass is a great thing. I'm happy with the rewards of this challenge, not the changes in price or increase in star requirements. Viking EMP and EMP salvo might be "nothing" to you, but the former means I can use Viking whenever I want and the latter is among the most overpowered (if not the most overpowered) augments, so I am happy to work towards obtaining it. I don't see how being angry accomplishes anything at all. Helpers frequently share their opinions on the forum even if they aren't totally positive.

Long have I waited to abuse EMP salvo! muahahahahha! Seriously happy to see these rewards. I've been wanting Viking EMP immunity and EMP salvo for months. The paints seem alright, and I don't have hyperspace rounds. Hopper Heat immunity is also an augment I wanted, and about time for Hopper to get something. We haven't had a Hopper augment since December.

Well working for the game means we have a hand in developing Tanki. We're sort of like how you have extracuricullar teachers at school, for example an after-school self-defense instructor. Though compensated for their time, a self-defense instructor who isn't hired by the school technically is not an employee. My apologies on that one then.
-
Spy has no control over development and thus saying that "Spy is ruining the game" doesn't make sense. Helpers are volunteers. Some of us help on the forum (such as reporters and forum moderators) and others organize in-game events. We are not employed by alternativa, and just like players we do not decide what updates are to be made or released.
-
Excited to finally get EMP salvo ?. Not going to lie, I have wanted it because of how broken it is, and I'm glad I can finally get it. I sure hope the EMP immunity is for Viking. If so, this would be literally the perfect challenge to me. Unless there's Thunder EMP/stun somehow comes out in the challenge. The change in price is definitely not doing non-buyers any favors sadly.
-
Nice! Looking forward to the sales especially this time. The super mission also seems pretty doable and I'm excited to open 15 Ultra Containers after a while.
-
Nice skin! Nothing to even come anywhere close to Viking Ultra's magnificence, but still pretty awesome.
-
I'm sure if you'd like to make a list of the 647 patch updates that have been added to the game and review/rate each one we would be interested to read it!
-
Frankly, it only seems weak. I can actually do much better with it than say Gauss or Striker or Magnum even. It's easily much more fun too. If you've been holding off on it because you think it's weak, then that's not the case. It's certainly not the strongest, but it's easy to use, fun to use and quite effective used right. I highly recommend giving it a spin! It's very enjoyable.
-
It's easily the best, and quite a lot of fun to use. I'd say pick it up on a sale if possible, because containers may throw endless amounts of paints and other stuff at you. Unless you're in no rush to get it I suppose.

I'm a Thunder main so please forgive me for jumping into this discussion a little later, but I just had to ?. Sledgehammer>SCCM because for whatever reason the damage drop-off isn't calculated correctly. SCCM isn't really viable for super long range (think shooting across the map in Desert), and neither is Sledgehammer, but both of them can perform similarly at Mid range. Sledgehammer's extra 5% quicker reload speed also helps make it useful, and it doesn't tank your damage at closer and medium ranges as badly. On the whole, SCCM has a projectile speed advantage but frankly it's really not that useful in most situations anyways since Thunder is not built as a pocket sniper. Subcaliber rounds are absolute garbage because they take away splash which is immensely useful for a Thunder player. As for adrenaline, I haven't tested it extensively but I feel like the ROF is a bit slow, so I stick to Sledgehammer. SCCM is good, it's just that Sledgehammer is more enjoyable to use and more deadly, especially in close quarters. Thunder isn't weak really, the thing is that as others have said, augments for turrets such as Gauss and Railgun outdo Thunder. I myself have gone into loads of matches where practically everyone has had Thunder protection, and I've still managed to come out on top with sledgehammer because often times kill stealing is something Thunder can do really well. If you see 2 tanks dueling each other when you have Railgun, you pick a target and attack said target, but with Thunder you can damage them both and try to kill both of them and typically this gets you at least a kill if not 2. This is of course in DM. As for team-based modes, you can always try and time your shots to steal kills. I think one of Thunder's biggest advantages with Sledgehammer is the ease in inflicting splash damage. I don't know if this is just a placebo, but it definitely feels like you have slightly more control over your shot. I, for one, typically manage to hit my shots exactly where I am aiming (by this I mean around 40-60 metres in front, as in shooting say a wall to damage an enemy who went down a certain route). Most often players don't even use this ability to it's fullest and that's such a shame. Off late I haven't been using Thunder much because I don't have EMP immunity for Viking and Viking Thunder is by far and away my favourite combo, but yeah it's definitely not weak. Players just see 50% protections and assume that means you cannot do anything, but this just isn't true. There are a lot more broken/powerful augments in the game if that is what you want, but Thunder is by no means weak in absolute terms. In relative terms, it is weak though because I mean EMP Salvo or stun augments are obviously going to be much more powerful.

Try it, and be sure to use Crusader. It's an absolute beast of a combo. IB HI can't hold a candle to adrenaline, especially after that last nerf. I'm not saying that simply jumping isn't fair. I proposed that if the OD is changed to a team based OD so that Hopper users would be required to play with their team then they would be unable to so easily capture flags. I frankly don't use Hopper much, so I don't much care what happens to it. At the end of the day though, you want things to be balanced, so nerfing anything into oblivion will not be true balance. Also, as for jumping, I don't think you can make it still be able to jump but not be able to jump over obstacles. An OD where Hopper just jumps in the air and lands in the same spot would be totally pointless. As for missions, just watch ads to change them to ones which you do like. You can watch plenty of mission change ads, and if say you get tough missions then just change them to be easy for you. Another cool thing that comes to mind is to allow Hooper to boost into a rampless jump the same way Batman's tumbler in TDK trilogy does it; takes a second or so to fire up the afterburner (i.e. the circle on the bottom of the hopper) and then propels it forward in a somewhat leap like trajectory. What I gather from what you've said is that you used to enjoy playing the game a lot, and now it's not enjoyable (your words not mine; "it is now not enjoyable," "I play on my main to do missions mostly and even that is sometimes a chore."). So my question is, if you don't enjoy the game then why are you playing it? A lot of things in life are a choice. I chose to play Tanki because I enjoy playing Tanki. You enjoy what Tanki was in the past, which is not what it is now. It seems like you don't enjoy Tanki, you only remember that you are supposed to enjoy Tanki. Being nostalgic and reminiscing about the past is awesome, it helps you remember a time you enjoyed and were comfortable in but the past is exactly that. It's past. Life moves on and times and things change. You might not like the direction in which it does change, but you can't really "go back" to a time where Hopper was non existent and supplies were the biggest advantage you can have over an opponent. That Tanki was pleasant, but it isn't what Tanki is today, and calling for the removal of Hopper or AP augments or EMP augments isn't going to bring back that Tanki.
-
Well actually no. Hornet was quite overpowered prior to the AP effect getting introduced. Here is a way we could make the augment more team based. The height you jump to (capped at the current max) depends on how many teammates you affect with your overdrive. So does the temperature to which your enemies are ignited but starting at 0.5 heat (so if you jump just by yourself without affecting any teammates then you raise an enemy to 0.5 heat and jump the minimum height which can be like I don't know, half of what it jumps now?). Each teammate you manage to affect with your overdrive will get a 15% damage reduction from all incoming damage. If this were to be the way the OD worked then OFC there would no longer be an issue of a single player dominating because the OD requires teamwork for you to actually benefit. Well yes, nothing in life is free. In the case of games, you either pay up front for the game (such as in GTA 5 or Witcher 3 or Star wars Battlefront 2) or you play the game for free but pay for in-game items. Why would any company make a game where they don't earn money? Frankly, if you have such a problem with Hooper then why not play a different mode? You don't have to play CTF or Rugby, you can just play CP or TDM or TJR or Siege and in none of these modes do Hopper crysis users (or even just Hopper users) have the slightest advantage. Is that a solution for Hopper? No, indeed it isn't, but there's nothing particularly special about CTF or Rugby due to which they are more fun. In fact, In fact from the looks of it, you don't enjoy playing Tanki, so why not do something that you enjoy? It's a typo ?.

I mean IB HI is pretty good, but it's quite rare that using Adrenaline Vulcan I score less than like 500 or so. On average I'd say I get close to 600 score, and straight up shred IB HI. Now especially more than ever, IB HI stands absolutely no chance unless they happen to be using a Titan dome. Well yeah Vulcan isn't capable of being a one man army. Hooper's been nerfed in the past few updates. Well enough to make it more of a support hull than dominating? I think not. But it is definitely much easier to handle now than it was when it launched. I used it recently and still was able to capture flags all by myself, but I think one solution for Hooper finishing matches too quickly is to make it's OD more team-based. No clue how that'd happen though. Vulcan was not broken, but IB with HI was broken, so I do definitely agree with the nerf on that one. Yes, Hooper is arguably more powerful than IB HI, but comparing strength relatively is pointless. It's like saying that because someone in this world is more miserable than you, you should be happy that you're not there. The point being whether OP by a tiny margin or by a landslide, it was OP.

Also Massacre and Brest. I feel these maps are not at all as enjoyable as they once were. I hope one day we get Novel!

Making a suggestion isn't the same as the suggestion being accepted. Skins don't make the game more p2w, if anything they make it less p2w because developers could very well have chosen to add an overpowered augment rather than a skin. Adding a skin to Juggernaut will not cause the game to "die faster". I suppose so. Though I do doubt that players would get frustrated over HD skins not releasing, as they are usually paired with new augments which I see a lot of players dissatisfied about.
-
The largest downfall with IB HI is that close quarters it cannot deal with enemies very well, especially if it's melee range. At long distances you're going to have a tough time even landing shots. With adrenaline, long range isn't a problem, and usually short range isn't either (especially in the case of Crusader Vulcan adrenaline). I have literally taken out enemies using IB HI while they had protection against me, and had all supplies active without ever using my overdrive and having run out of supplies. In a 1-1, IB HI vs ADR HI, ADR will definitely come out on top because it's just that much easier to aim and land hits with. I kid you not when I say that ever since I bought adrenaline, I literally have not equipped IB because it just pales in comparison. Actually I was using Viking Hammer (if you mean the 2 people shown on the enemy team for your screen shot)
