    April Challenge I

No, even non-buyers can get the Battle Pass once in a while. Obviously Tanki wants you to buy for it, so non-buyers can't get it every time. If you enjoy the game but don't enjoy essentially MM, then consider finding a group of people to play pro battles with, using equipment that you collectively deem not broken. You've repeatedly said how you just do missions and are willing to spend lots of crystals on them, so I don't think doing this would negatively impact you in the long run. Again, a lot of complaints are "the game sucks, you devs are so greedy, everything is P2W" which isn't going to help anybody. Neither is asking them to undo their updates, because if memory serves the only instance on which that happened was when augments got put into containers only.

[Fools] How to be a good teammate (for the enemy team)

Excellent! We need more players such as yourself playing Tanki! Honestly, I have no idea. I mean, given the quality of the banners, it seems clear he ought to be the admin for the designers, but for some strange reason, Pout didn't accept him.

    [PRANK] Autopilot

Yes of course! This update will greatly help everybody I think. Why turn your turret when you can just shoot where your turret points? There's a certain beauty in letting your turret guide you as opposed to guiding your turret. Sort of like letting your dog walk you instead of walking your dog.

    Change gold box mechanics

No, even with heavy weight. Hooper will simply slide on top of another tracked hull, which'll mean you don't take the gold. On Hooper, you don't even need heavy weight because you can sort of drive on top of them anyways. If anything, it's a poor augment to use because it hinders your ability to strafe.

    April Challenge I

Well not every update negatively changes the game. For example, the shard container update. Not everything done is bad. For example, giving AP/EMP augments in challenges is beneficial to non-buyers. It also helps buyers, but I imagine buyers would get them anyways. Also, a lot of the time the criticism is just in the form of "tanki is dead, devs are greedy" which doesn't really do much. Asking them to repeal their updates (such as removing Hooper) isn't particularly likely to work either.

    April Challenge I

Tanki is a business, no matter what they do there's a reason for it. By definition, a business wants to minimize its costs while maximizing profits. So, it doesn't make sense from that point of view to do something that isn't going to benefit them in some way, I imagine. Of course, that's not to say updates and new content can't be mutually beneficial to devs and players (I would say this is the best way for it to be), but at the end of the day every business wants to generate revenue, thus their actions are guided by this.

    Change gold box mechanics

Well that's why, it wouldn't just be meteorites. A 1/3 chance for each. Well yes, there's no way to completely remove the effectivity of a certain combo taking gold. However, in the case of Hooper lifeguard, it cannot catch golds that spawn on the ground with ease because it can be pushed out of the way.
  11. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    Change gold box mechanics

True, but this way every hull has a chance to take the gold. Right now the only hull which takes golds most of the time is Hooper. With the meteorite thing, titans for example can catch them as can lifeguard users (promoting a different drone) and if a Hooper user wants to take golds it's no longer "hipity hopity this gold is my property". To consistently take golds would require using Hooper with Lifeguard, and that would either not happen (because players don't want to switch drones) or if it does happen, would lead to a decrease in Defender and CRysis users for example. How would you die by not focusing on gold boxes?

[Fools] How to be a good teammate (for the enemy team)

I got you fam. Yes, this banner ought to be displayed in museums, alongside all those other painter dudes.
  13. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    April Challenge I

Well that's true. Perhaps the most interesting detail is that the challenge starts on April 1st, and the original banner contained cold and EMP immunity, not AP, the inconsistency of which might've been a mistake that gives away (if this is indeed a joke) their joke.
  14. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    April Challenge I

True, but Titan AP is greatly desired by many people (so giving it away for such a low price doesn't seem like an economical move) and nobody, literally nobody liked the challenges with only cold immunity, and to repeat it once more makes little sense, especially since it was relatively recent. But, as you said we'll see.
  15. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    April Challenge I

Hmmm, I wonder if Titan AP and Hunter CI are an April fool's joke. Wouldn't make sense to give by far the most definitve augment for a hull with something that was given just 2 or 3 months back, which nobody wants.
  16. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    Change gold box mechanics

Right now, Gold boxes are predictable. They drop, a hooper comes, jumps and takes the goldbox with its overdrive and that's the last you hear of the goldbox. I propose that goldboxes come in 3 ways. Either they come in meteorite form, regular form (as it is now) or they come similar to how goldboxes would spawn underground. If it's like this, then a Hooper cannot simply use it's overdrive and take the gold box, lifeguard abusers won't take the goldbox from perpetually abusing it and hulls such as Viking could catch golds better.

Awesome to see EMP Smoky and Cryo rounds! I decided to start upgrading my Smoky, and this will be great for Smoky! Also interested in the other 2 augments, which I hope at least one of is Viking. Also, lots of players have been asking for more thematic paints, and I think these paints are pretty good for April Fools day.

  19. True, but if this were done then it'd have to be clearly inferior to the current armadillo module that exists, and so could be made cheaper. Additionally, at least it would be possible for non-buyers (albeit rich ones) to get resistances to critical hits. I suppose at legend rank would definitely make it better balanced in that low rankers wouldn't have their equipment nerfed into oblivion.
  20. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

Release Critical hit resistance modules but not the way they are from Ultra containers

I think we should get critical hit resistance modules, but perhaps they can be made available for crystals as such, so you get a long range critical resistance module (against Railgun, Magnum, Gauss and Shaft) and it can be upgraded to 25% resistance (or 50%). Alternatively, I think it'd be fair to get critical hit resistance specific to turrets, which have the same pricing scheme as those for regular turrets, and we get to equip 3 regular prots with 3 critical hit resistances for specific turrets, all of which can be a max of 50% protection. OR if you have the new module, that and 3 regular protections. Lastly, it might be worthwhile to nerf the critical damage to be 10/20% more than regular damage I think. In any case, protection modules have been indirectly nerfed, so I think we should get something that balances that out.

[Fools] How to be a good teammate (for the enemy team)

Did you know that if your team doesn't win a match or draw, you lose? No? Well, you can thank me for bringing it to your attention (if you'd like to, I wouldn't refuse any payments for divulging this secret either). Thus, I bring these five tips on how to be a great teammate for the other team! 5. See supplies? Just take them! Whenever there's a supply box or a Nuclear box, make sure you take it yourself. This step is quite essential because it can distinguish a decent teammate from a great one. You see a nuclear box. Say you're using Wasp, and you see a Dictator teammate without its OD charged (and yours is charged), make sure you activate your bomb, take the nuclear box and then carry on. That noob Dictator doesn't really need their OD anyways. If you see someone carrying the enemy flag on fire, about to die, and there's a repair kit, make sure you take it! It doesn't matter if you're at full health. Taking a repair kit never harmed anybody, so make sure you do. For bonus marks, make sure you stop and type in the chat, "hippity hoppity this RK is my property." 4. Always interrupt someone trying to aim! If you see someone trying to aim, make sure you bump into them. This step is quite essential for anybody trying to be a great teammate for the other team. Whether it be a striker, a Magnum, or a Shaft, always make sure that you ruin their aim. Bonus marks if you do it right as they're about to shoot. After all, how does it matter that they're trying to destroy an enemy? They'd have to be delusional not to understand the importance of you wanting to pass by to claim the speed boost which nobody wanted to take. Your team might lose the game, but then again, this is a guide to being a great teammate for the other team. 3. There's only one game mode, and that's TDM If you're playing a game mode that's not TDM, the key is to pretend it's TDM. Say you're playing Rugby. Why you ended up playing Rugby is of no consequence. What is of consequence is kills, so make sure that instead of trying to assist the person with the rugby ball or trying to score yourself, you go out of your way and try to kill enemies. Playing a match of Siege? PFFFT who's got the time to go waste 25 seconds standing around some dumb point. That's boring. Instead, I urge you to try to find the strongest enemy tank and try to take them down. Of course, you might die, but at least you can show those good-for-nothing fools in your team how Siege is played. For bonus marks, make sure you use low or no protections, Hunter or Viking with Ricochet, never turn your turret and always try to ram enemies. 2. Only noobs turn their turrets. Never turn your turret, never use supplies, and only use protections below 20%. Yes, times have moved on, and supplies are practically required, but that doesn't mean you have to move along with time. Play like you did in the good old days, without supplies and protections. Who needs protections or supplies anyways? Only weak players, that's who. Additionally, you can save some energy by not turning your turret. Who's got the time to bother anyways? Not you! No, you're too busy showing the lousy players in your team how it's done! For bonus marks, use sub-5000 GS equipment as a legend and call those people buying into the turret-turning conspiracy "buyer noobs." 1. Oh there's this ability which takes a while to charge and when you activate it, you perform a powerful action of some sort? Well make sure you activate it at random times on a single tank randomly! Always, ALWAYS use your overdrive on a random tank for no reason, without any second thought. This is, by far, the most important thing for you to do. Fortunately, lots of players already do this without any prompting. For those of you who don't, make sure you use your overdrive on a tank randomly for no reason. You see someone escaping with your flag? WHO CARES! Activate your Viking's OD and kill the defenseless 7000 GS support nanobots Isida instead! Are you defending in ASL as a Hunter? Did someone just capture the flag in your base? Well, then now's the perfect time to activate your OD! There's no sense in waiting for someone else coming towards your base with a flag. Are you using a Titan without AP immunity in Siege? Is there a Hunter using AP Freeze coming to attack you? Are you in a secluded corner of the map, far away from any possible Siege points? If you said yes to all of those, activate your OD! You gotta show that clown how to play this game! What better way to do so, than to activate your dome in a random corner of the map, against an enemy using AP Freeze and Hunter with a charged overdrive? Bonus marks if you use Viking with any turret, never turn your turret and ONLY use your OD on a tank when you have 5 team mates with you and they're alone, without supplies and nearly dead. Conclusion: So yeah, I hope you guys learned how to be a great teammate for the enemy team. It makes me quite happy that a large majority of players (who actually know what they're doing) follow these tips religiously. For those that don't, I sincerely hope you transition to this clearly far superior style of playing the game. Note: Any loss incurred is not my (LOL...DEATH's) fault. Still, if you want to talk to a manager, note that you will only get compensation of two (2) oatmeal raisin cookies, assuming @brother_of_pro hasn't eaten them first. If he has, we'll ask @kaisdf to make some more, hopefully within this century. Oh also, I'd like to thank Sabry for the banners. Somehow, he hasn't made it into the design team. Hopefully, they see his potential and take him in. Please @Pout, consider his banners and his art.

    Critical damage

That's true, but keep in mind that it's still not that badly overpowered. Yes, it grants resistance to critical hits from all turrets, but it's only critical hits, which for most turrets don't happen that often anyway. Worst case scenario, a regular player against this module will be stuck dealing the same damage they were prior to this update (that is, 50% critical protection and 50% turret protection makes for 50% overall). It'd be better if it was split up based on turrets or maybe range so that there was a resistance module for melee, short range and so on. Well our limitation is that we only see one side of the story, that being the player's. To us, it doesn't make much sense to add augments such as the old EMP/stun railgun. I would agree that fewer updates with less OP items and just powerful but not OP items (such as the current Railgun Stun/EMP and EMP Salvo are) would be better. I think one of the problems they likely face is how non-buyers look at buying. I'm a buyer, and many times players just automatically make the assumption that because I buy in Tanki (mostly Battle pass, then once I bought the Jotun bundle) I'm a noob and don't know how to play. The general attitude towards buying isn't very positive for most people at all. Better balance is something I think everybody wants to see, and I believe this is a step towards that, because as I've said, the extremely OP augments such as Railgun EMP and stun as well as EMP salvo have been massively nerfed in this update, to the point where they are no longer that dangerous. Also, there are bundles catering towards those who don't want to spend large amounts, such as this time the bundle for 1690 tankoins (15.99 USD I think is what you'd need to buy it) or the Valentines day bundle. Are these bundles going to turn people who buy them into gods? No, but in the past they didn't really exist, and we had bundles starting at 60/75$ or so. The other part of this, is that we don't have Tanki's side of things. Thus, we can comment on what we see, but our comments won't be completely accurate because we don't actually have half the story. I cannot offer you any explanation for why we're facing what we're facing. Though I definitely agree, the battles are not often evenly matched, rather it seems to be one team dominating. Usually the dominating team does have better GS, but sometimes the worse team has better GS. However, my key point is that things are getting better. We got shard containers, hull and turret augments (including AP), and now this nerf for EMP salvo and EMP railgun and stun Railgun. I'd say if not for this update, we would still have the extremely overpowered variants of these things, and maybe even get say Thunder EMP, but it's with sledgehammer and it applies the EMP effect on every shot for 5 or 6 seconds or something. Now, developers have the free reign to introduce EMP and Stun augments, and it won't break the game because it's not happening every time.
  23. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    Critical damage

I agree, it's why you're getting updates such as the shards update, and hull augments and AP augments in challenges too. I know non-buyers cannot buy BP every challenge, but now it's MUCH easier for a non-buyer to get an AP augment they want. As for being cannon fodder, that's certainly a problem but it's also one that's likely to go down a bit with this critical damage update. Think about it, earlier if a non-buyer without a drone faced off against players with 50% protection, they would most likely be in a tough spot because they can barely fight back. With critical hits, there's no immunity, and most certainly it's easier than before to fight back in such a scenario. Yes, buyers will get critical hit resistance, but the good thing is that there's no immunity, and the module is EXTREMELY expensive to both acquire and upgrade. I think the situation is likely more complicated than simply making tanki fun and balanced. If it were just that, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't just do that.
  24. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    Critical damage

You misunderstand what I was saying. I was referring to EMP and stun augments for other turrets. They'll be similar to that of Smoky, and therefore are not likely to be massively overpowered.
  25. LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH

    Critical damage

Well the only thing I can tell you is that they feel that these updates are needed. If they didn't think they needed to change something, they wouldn't (whether or not players think it needs to be changed). I don't know what things are like, and so I cannot comment on why the prices for bundles are what they are or why they're doing what they're doing. Though, not every update is in favour of buyers in the sense that only buyers benefit. This one, for example. Now, even a 7000 GS player who became legend too quickly can take down buyers using say, Crysis, stun immunity, EMP Salvo. I'm not saying balance is here yet, and nor am I saying issues such as Hooper are fixed, but most definitely something is being done about them. Slow, yes, but better late than never. As for game balance, yes it's quite important, I concur. The thing is, from the perspective of players, the game needs to be perfectly balanced and fun. From the point of view of the developers, they need to bring in revenue from selling things. The only viable solution is to meet somewhere in the middle, so that Tanki can sell their products, and the game is somewhat balanced and fun. This is especially true since Tanki is F2P and not a game you buy, so their primary source of revenue is selling upgrades and such as opposed to the base game. If players had their way, the game would run into financial troubles I imagine because balance is great, but it doesn't bring revenue which is needed. Likewise, if we have too much EMP salvo or Railgun stun like equipment, the game isn't fun. This update makes that meeting ground, because now all the EMP and stun augments won't be broken, but since they're present, buyers will want them. Thus, the balance isn't going to be perfect in this regard, but it is necessary for buyers to be advantaged because they're supporting Tanki. EMP salvo now, is not broken for example. Neither are EMP or Stun rail. Do they have a powerful ability? Definitely. However because EMP salvo only works on 1 enemy and rail and EMP stun work only on critical hits, it's no longer that powerful. This is a good, and much needed equilibrium. As to why critical damage for all turrets is introduced in the first place, I think it's most likely because Tanki plans to add in more EMP and Stun augments, and the only way to do this without completely messing up balance is to make it work some times and not permanently (imagine say a Twins augment which stunned. In the past, the most logical way to implement it would be just stun every hit but this is not practical). As to why this would need to happen at all? I believe it's because it will help Tanki generate revenue. I'd also like to argue, technically all updates made are for the purpose of increasing revenue. Even the bug fixes and balance updates, because of the simple fact that they improve the game and are more likely to get players to stay and invest in Tanki.
