    [Issue 78] Fear the Nipah

Fear the Nipah It was 2071 when everything started. The Nipah virus was reasonably well contained within the continent of India, but governments of the world were still trying to develop a cure to fully eradicate the virus. They almost had the cure, but the bacteria got crossed with something and resulted in a hyper virus which could transmit itself from one person to another very quickly. And in extreme agony, the likes of which could only otherwise be achieved through unimaginable and unspeakable horrors. Eventually, the virus spread throughout the world, decimating world populations. As with all infections, there was a specific population of which was immune to the virus and wasn’t affected by it. ~~~ As Elizabeth drifted back to consciousness, she felt a migraine coming on. All around her was concrete with bent and rusted metal rods coming out, and lots of shattered glass. She tried to recall what had happened but all of it eluded her. Her memory was shortened to only her name and the name and face of a boy. She slowly got up and the pain started to kick into her stomach. “Up and about now, princess! I want all of your credits now! Hand them over or else…” the man leveled a gun at Elizabeth’s head. Without even thinking, Elizabeth smashed her hand into his neck, shattering his spine. The man instantly collapsed. Elizabeth now felt even more afraid. Suddenly, she felt another hand on her shoulder. As she turned around, she noticed that it was the boy who she remembered. “I… I… I did this Steven. I don’t know how. It was almost swift as a machine, I just looked at him, and before I knew it, he collapsed to the floor.” Elizabeth mumbled. Steven held her hand and looked into her ocean-blue eyes. “He’s gone, Elizabeth. You can’t save him. Quick! Helicopters are here, there’s no time for us to talk, we need to get out of here or else we’re dead.” Steven grabbed Elizabeth’s hand and sprinted. By the next morning, they managed to reach what was left of Detroit wholly exhausted. “One second Steven.” She clenched her head and yelled in pain. Suddenly she was in a room. The room was furnished with all sorts of technology, and a picture of Steven. She looked around, searching for the Detroit which had just been in front of her. She found a pistol in her hand. “Commander, we must go now. The immunes are here, and they’ve brought along two Wrecker cannons.” “Two?! Alright, get the laser beams ready. We have to destroy them.” Elizabeth reached for a gun in her drawer. Then, she and the assistant left for the battle. Soon enough, they were firing away on the front lines. Then, a Wrecker Cannon shot at Elizabeth, but Rachel pushed Elizabeth down. From then on, all Elizabeth could feel was the left side of her flesh being seared off and Rachel’s charred body, until darkness took her. When she woke up, most of the upper left side of her body was covered in metal. ~~~ “We’re sorry Elizabeth. You were going to die, the only way to save you was this. Luckily your brain, heart or left lung didn’t get severely damaged, but most of the bones were burned to ash when we removed them.” Then, Elizabeth felt more throbbing pain. “Elizabeth, are you okay? You were screaming for the past 10 minutes.” the familiar voice of Steven said. “I saw something, Steven.” “Well, what was it?” “I think I understood why-” Before Elizabeth could finish, a man punched Steven to the floor and pulled out a knife. “If you don’t give me everything you have in the next minute, I’ll gut you alive, like a pig.” the man said. Steven wasn’t too muscular, so he didn’t move. The man raised the knife, and before he could bring it down, the blade was smashed into his body. “I swear, I’m not doing this on purpose,” Elizabeth said. The man spat out blood as he crumpled to the floor in a puddle of blood. “It’s… okay” the man said, “Can you come closer, I have to tell you something.” Elizabeth inched closer to the man's face. “What?” “Do me a favour by… dying!” The dying man raised his nails and scratched Elizabeth’s face. Elizabeth fell back in pain. “What… Why did you do that?!” “I have the virus. I was a dead man anyway. You just eased my pain. Afraid I can’t say the same to you though.” The man fell. Instantly, around seven more men came near Elizabeth. Steven was still in pain. “Please! You don’t understand! Don’t attack me. I don’t want you to die!” A tall and pale man reached pulled out his gun pointed at Steven. Steven just looked at the pistol and saw his life flash before his eyes before hearing a gunshot. Soon, he saw Elizabeth standing in front of him. “What?! How are you still alive? I shot you in the face!” “Oh. That was what happened!” Elizabeth exclaimed and smiled at the men. She got up and repeatedly punched one before throwing him at a small stall. Still, another tried to grab her neck, before getting elbowed in the face and then getting hit by Elizabeth’s knee. Soon enough, all of the men were incapacitated or dead. Elizabeth almost collapsed but managed to stop herself from collapsing. “Elizabeth! No!” “I’m fine Steven!” “No, you’re not. Someone who had the Nipah virus scratched you. Good God no!” Steven put his hands on his face in exhaustion and stress. “How long do the symptoms take to appear?!” Elizabeth yelled, scared as ever. “They should already have! Unless you’re…” “Immune?” “Yup.”

[Issue 76] A Quick Kit Review: Medic

Well, yes, I wrote this before the protection module seperation. From now on, a kit buyer gets protection from the 1 turret the kit has. For example, Legend kit has M3 Railgun, so the given protection is Falcon M3, which protects users against Railgun

    Drones, Batteries and Modules Update

My idea is quite simple. Add a drone, which gives your tank 4 drones, 2 on the right and 2 on the left. These drones fire a shaft laser like beam which does 10 damage per drone, which is 40 damage per second.

    Ideas for Turrets!

I believe I may not have spoken clearly. My suggestion isn't to remove Thunder protections, my suggestion is to buff Thunder.

    Ideas for Turrets!

Thunder is highly underpowered. I used it a good many times and I never deal above 1000 damage with double damage, which is somewhat saddening.

    Ideas for Turrets!

Buff thunder Honestly, Thunder is hilariously under powered. Most people still happen to have Thunder protection more than 40% at the legend ranks. While Tanki developers can't really do much more to fix it, I think it must be buffed. It is just too weak. I think a 20% buff of minimum and maximum.

    Why Tanki has lost players?

Well, People chose to move on from Tanki because they have to attend to real life. There's loads of other reason, but that's probably the biggest one.

I played on the test server and it was AMAZING! I was really wondering when the update would drop, but I didn't ask because well Tanki developers are probably more worried about it than I am. Love it!

[Issue 76] A Quick Kit Review: Medic

I would write a review for either of those, but I don't have those kits. With the upcomming update with protection modules, I'll create those protection modules which the kits have and use the combos. Unfortunately, I can't purchase the kits anymore. Sorry to disappoint you.

    XP/BP auto-change

So my suggestion is a little straightforward. There are lots of XP players, such as myself, who ocassionally like to get in a game or so of XP battles. We go to the battle list to join an XP/BP match and find the perfect one which has just started. Then when we click "play" it tells us that we don't have the required gear. So we spend 30 seconds quickly changing and trying to join again, only to find out that we can't. My suggestion is simple. If a player has Railgun and Wasp/Hornet above or at M2, clicking the "play" button for XP/BP matches equips it and lets us join.

[Issue 76] A Quick Kit Review: Medic

If I were to make a list of the top 5 best feelings in Tanki, there would probably be “Buying a kit.” Buying a kit is an exciting thing to do for most tankers. For one, you have waited months, planning exactly how you will buy it, if you’ll record it and how you think your first battle with it will go. If you’re a buyer, naturally this process loses some of the excitement, but for all the non-buyers out there, every crystal counts, and so it is imperative not to buy the wrong kit. For that reason, and the fact that people didn’t try to murder me with hateful remarks in the comments section for my Destroyer kit review, Today I shall be discussing the Medic kit. The Components Isida M3 I’ll be completely honest with you. I kid you not when I tell you, that I woke up one day thinking “Hey! Wouldn’t it be nice to purchase the Medic kit? I already have 300,000 crystals! Let's try my luck!”, Which was a bizarre thought seeing as I hated Isida after using (read: struggling with) it at M2. Consequently, I was quite worried about this turret, even though Isida M3 users had completely crushed me. Once I purchased it and put it to use, it was amazing. Isida M3 was killing enemies left and right while helping my allies stay alive and getting most of my enemies to rage-quit. I loved it then, and I love it now. Isida also has great synergy with Viking because the balance between speed and armour is just perfect, and I managed to catch up with my enemies almost every time I acquired a target. The protection module, Shark T-D M3 was extremely helpful because I could reach enemy Twins, Vulcans and Thunders with sufficient health remaining to kill them. Naturally, red paint isn’t exactly helpful if you want to sneak up on enemies, but nothing is perfect. Additionally, Isida’s “modes” are quite helpful. Naturally, most tankers are going to rack their brains wondering of the modes I speak. If my team is being suppressed and the enemy team keeps on viciously attacking, then I’ll go into “defence” mode, which is to say I’ll stay at my base and heal my team. “Attack” mode is the infamous case of drugging Isidas who comes and hogs all the kills, and when you are have always got them, they somehow end up using an overdrive. Nonetheless, I find Isida to be notoriously hard to use. 9/10, Isida is very overpowered although it is somewhat tricky to use. Viking M3 This was the reason I wanted to purchase this kit, because of Viking M3. I badly wanted to get my hands around this bad boy, although at the same time I was worried that Viking would be too balanced for me. In the end, I decided to purchase this kit and get Viking M3, and I do not regret it to this day. Viking, although horrible for me at M1, is a fantastic m3, and I cannot stress that enough. From CP to RGB, I can use Viking anywhere and still do amazingly well, not to mention that it has excellent synergy with almost every other turret in the game. Viking M3 is excellent with Isida M3 because you can get to enemies quickly while retaining sufficient armour to outlive them. Shark T-D M3 is also an excellent protection module because the Twins, Thunder and Vulcan protection will serve you excellently against two of the most popular turrets in Tanki, and bring down the power of Twins and Thunder. I love Viking so much that in the short 5 or 6 months I’ve had it, I managed to fully micro-upgrade it sheerly because of how amazing it is. In fact, it is so awesome that words haven’t even been invented yet for how good it is. Viking is perhaps not the best hull for gold-catching purposes, but for all other purposes and intents, this steadfast and armoured hull is suitable for virtually any situation. My favourite turret to use Viking with is perhaps Magnum, but that’s just me. 10/10, having it at M4 I have nothing to complain about because Viking M4 is just so perfect. This hull is nothing short of the best hull I have ever used. Shark T-D M3 The most forgotten part of the kit, Shark T-D M3. Shark T-D M3 happens to be my first protection module, and a massive step up at that (from 15% to 35% against Thunder and 10% to 35% against Twins, not to mention the Vulcan protection). I felt like a god while using this protection module because my enemies could keep firing at me and barely make a dent to my armour, yet when I approached them, they succumbed to my Isida very quickly. While some might argue that this protection module is slightly mismatched with Medic and that a much better protection module to go with this kit would be something similar to Badger T-A M3, I’d beg to differ. Why? Well for the simple reason that if you can’t catch up to your enemies, you can’t take them out. Also, Twins is without a doubt one of the most annoying and powerful turrets, so having Twins protection is a significant benefit of this protection module. For the aforementioned reasons, this protection module is highly effective with Viking, and still more effective with Viking and Isida. While it is a fantastic protection module and essential to have for any user with how much use Twins and Thunder see, my small nitpick with the module is the Vulcan protection, which rarely helps me at all. 9.5/10, I do quite love this protection module. However, my nitpicks prevents me from giving it a 10/10. Cherry One of the slightly better paints among kits (hey, at least it’s better than tablecloth Lumberjack.) In general, Cherry looks like patches of different tones of red, in a random kind of pattern, with some shades of purple and pink thrown in. Naturally, Cherry sees little use if you want to hide, although it can be used with Isida M3, Viking M3 and Shark T-D M3 to show-off to others that you have the Medic kit. Other than that, there’s not much to talk about in regards to Cherry as it has little impact on the performance of the kit. 8.5/10, Not the worst paint, but a good ways from the best paints. Alterations Since you may plan to buy this kit, I think that exploring absolutely everything it has to offer is essential. From the Hull to the Turret to the Paint to the Protection Module. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that one can forget about alterations. Following is some information about the alterations of Isida M3. Broadband Emitters This alteration optimises your turret for close ranged combat by increasing your angle cone by 200% while decreasing your range by 30%. While this alteration makes for a decent pairing with Hornet due to the low stability and quick speed, I imagine that Viking will suffer pretty badly with it. The reason? Well, think about it. Viking isn’t the fastest hull, but it is relatively challenging to knock the aim of a Viking user. This decrease in range and increase in cone angle means that it will be significantly harder to catch up with allies or enemies to heal or destroy them. Additionally, the 200% cone angle will say that you accidentally lock on to the wrong target. Nevertheless, this alteration might be of use in small maps such as Island where quick enemies aren’t so difficult to deal with. This alteration isn’t that great if you plan to use it with Viking, and as such should only be considered for collection purposes. Support Nanobots Think of Iron Man's latest suit in Infinity war, without any repulsors or weapons, but with a repair beam which can repair just about anything, and you have Medic kit with this alteration. This alteration will boost your healing capabilities to levels where you can practically heal teammates through death. The downside is that you lose 50% of your damage, which is the reason behind why this alteration isn’t worthwhile. If you were to confront an M4 mammoth with 50% protection against Isida and double armour, your Isida would deal a measly 63 damage at best. You would have to attack a Mammoth such as that for at least a minute to destroy them, and that is if you don’t get killed by then. Nevertheless, if you aren’t much for capturing flags, this alteration will most certainly allow you to stay with your team and collect heaps of XP. This alteration is not very useful because it nerfs Isida far too much and renders it useless as a weapon. Personal Experience The first match I used this kit in, was a CTF in Esplanade. At first, I did face some difficulty using Isida again because it had been so long since I used Isida, but once I got back into the rhythm of it still, I was rocking the battlefield. I was practically invincible against Thunder M2 users who repeatedly tried to take me down, and those Twins M2 players also caused me mild irritation. After my hiatus from Viking and Isida at the M1 stage, this was the first time I used Viking with Isida. Now, my new and improved Isida had no problem taking out enemies (although I did entirely miss the self-healing that used to be there before) and I finally felt like I wasn’t going to die with one shot as I tanked multiple hits from turrets such as Railgun and Twins. By the time I was done with the match, most of my enemies had run away screaming obscenities not really, but help me out here. I’m trying to get hired as Tanki’s salesman, and I have to impress Mr Nives, my boss. My latest attempt at using the kit was met with similar amounts of success. Since there was another Isida almost invariably with me, I died only about thrice. Since I was in Aleksandrovsk a relatively large map, I had to use the element of surprise. Hiding behind walls and buildings and sneaking up on my enemies managed to get me loads of kills. I also reached my patients all of the time, and managed to nurse them back to health (unless they died. I suck? Oh really? Well why don’t you try to heal destroyed tanks.). There was a gold, and I won't discuss that further, but during the gold, I managed to capture the winning flag and earn myself well over 1000 crystals. There were lots of Vulcans, but they barely managed to scratch me in comparison to the 452 damage I was dishing out. In general, it was, and the performance of the kit was stellar. Conclusion Medic kit is fantastic, and there’s no denying that. If I were to compile a list of turrets people make a fuss about, Isida would be second after Magnum. Why? Well, because Isida is almost undefeatable on drugs. Nevertheless, I highly suggest that before you splash out on this kit, you test Isida m0 with Viking M0 on a low-level account, because Isida isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and there’s nothing worse than buying a kit which doesn’t work well with your playing style. Would I recommend you to purchase Medic kit? Absolutely. It is fantastic and well worth a purchase, but Isida may be a let-down unless you like to play with Isida or are good at using Isida. This kit is a must-have because it provides arguably the best hull, Viking, and an excellent and relevant protection module in the form of Shark T-D M3.
