The Following is not a public discussion of moderation and does not infringe on tankiforum general rule 2.18. - public discussion of moderation as well as Administration' activities The purpose of this thread is 1) to flag the ambiguity, misdirections and inconsistency in the already published new clan rules (just the print, not the essence of the rules) 2) to help redraft the rules properly so all ambiguity is removed. 3) to help all those currently affected by these ambiguity, misdirections and inconsistencies MODERATION CRITICS, HATERS, TROLLS , INTENTIONAL FLAMERS PLEASE ABSTAIN !!!!! mods please relocate thread in appropriate section if necessary I am protesting on behalf of all of Clan Top Gun [TG] about a section of the new clan rules. Rules being contested: Rule 2.12 is highly misdirecting in nature, and is not consistent with the rest of rules 2.13, 2.14, 2.15 and 2.16. It seems that players as well as many clan leaders interprete 2.12 as "if a player leaves a clan to play in a non-clan game (solo or tandem or on another community) they cannot join a clan again for a period of 3 months." Moderators interpret the same rule as "if a players leaves a clan for whatever reason, they cannot join back in a clan for a period of 3months" There is an element of misdirection in the example given in bracket in the rule itself. This is highly ambiguous and should be properly reworded to remove any confusion. Rule 2.13 imposes that each and every clan members be allowed to transfer from clan to clan only during the transfer window, which is not bad in itself when all goes well. But if a clan member decides to leave a clan due to internal clan issues or has been kicked by the clan leaders, this becomes a problem. As the player is clan-less, some will not be able to find another clan to adhere to by the time the next Transfer Window comes. At the end of the transfer window , if they still had not find a clan to adhere to, they will be considered (by the moderators team and their interpretation of Rule 2.12) as players leaving a clan and subject to Rule 2.12 and will therefore not be able to join any other clan in the coming 3 months. Please understand the very real fact that each clans have their own agendas and issues and that this rule is severely handicapping some players who are victims or redundants of those internal clan issues who cannot / are not able to find a new clan in the short time there is before the end of the next transfer window. I strongly suggest this scenario be considered and this rule be redrafted to avoid such occurrences in the future. Rule 2.14 allows a player to leave a clan anytime and not necessarily during a transfer window. This does contradict rule 2.13 and can therefore be deemed inconsistent. Rule 2.15 and 2.16 mention the element of exact time at which a player is considered an official member of a clan. And since players post (whether leaving or adhering) are not always during the transfer window, for obvious reasons, it cannot be said that they go perfectly hand in hand with Rule 2.13 Proposals Rule 2.12 It would be good to have an input on the initial intentions of the rule makers on this one before we continue the debate on this one. I suggest that the term "Registered Member" be used to describe a clan member who can participate in official tanki tournaments, i.e who has been declared in previous Transfer Windows by his clan leaders as one of theirs. This will allow a leeway where one can be considered an "official member" of a clan but not yet a "registered member" as he may have joined prior to a transfer window and awaiting his registration. Similarly another player can be deemed no longer an "official member" of a clan but still a "registered member" if he leaves the clan on the 7th of the month and will have to wait for the next Transfer Window to be "de-registered" Rule 2.13 needs to be re-written in accordance with what comes out of the debate on Rule 2.12 , but will also have to take into consideration that it is not possible to limit freedom of movement of players joining or exiting a clan to only the Transfer Window period of each month. Rule 2.14, 2.15, 2.16 can mostly be left unaltered if the above 2 are well written. My only suggestion would be to use the term "registered member" where necessary instead of the ambiguous "official member". Requests I would like to request on behalf of my clan, all clans affected and all players affected by these inconsistencies, specially the misdirections of Rule 2.12, to have those affected by these be considered on a case-by-case basis and allowed to transfer / register on the next Transfer Window if found they were ruled out through no faults of their own but simply due to the non fool-proof nature and ambiguity in the new clan rules. looking at this thread i have realised that although i simply prefer the new graphics and where it is going, many of you, and by many i mean REALLY A FREAKING LOT MANY OF YOU like the old graphics.. and if you are that numerous, perhaps one of you can lead a petition / suggestion to the devs to include an option in the grahics settings where one could just tick a box and have everything on screen be redrawn using a mockup of the old props. or perhaps someone skilled among you can already start the work and show it to the devs.. it is not an impossible thing to do, and who knows, it might even get some good traction from members of all communities :)

please understand that new graphics are not here for cosmetic reasons only, but also for a lot many more of technical reasons as well... e.g there was no way we could have all those hardware acceleration options we have now and those coming in the future with the pre 1.100 version .... also, new graphics are not that bad, they actually look quite very good provided you have a decent nvidia or amd card. but yes, a few aspects of the old graphincs were lost,,, e.g those bright crystal boxes, that sun-shining effect on the old gold box, the more dirty and less cartoony visual that we got now .... but well, when u look at what we get now, and coming in the future, i think those losses were by far outweighed by the new gains :) grats on the new rank... you are now officially an M3 League noob like me :D

I think it is alarming that apart from this request and the pathetic answer that followed ( no disrespect to you elham) nothing followed, no one even bothered to find out what happened to a lost article.. not even the author cared to explain about it, neither the head of the newspaper reporter team .... FACEPALM !!
