Nice lengthy post, what it comes down to is how well you managed your account from the very beginning leading up to legend. Not many players give this much thought for the 1st few ranks, and when it matters most at the mid to high ranks you find your account is lacking the required upgrades to compete at a good level. We all have our own ways to manage our accounts, and usually the playing style of any particular player dictates what he uses in battle, and even which maps he favours. My account is set up to do well from 2nd lieutenant all the way to legend, before that rank i save and save etc every and all supplies as much as i can, and i'm not really bothered to much about my position at the end of the battle. After that rank i play to be as high up the leaderboard as i can, and will use my drone to full effect which i always upgrade 2 steps straight away as it helps out big time at the low ranks. The other thing i also ALWAYS do is skip buying certain mk combos hulls/turrets/protections,as at the lower ranks right up to major it's a waste of crystals/cash. I aim for mk5/6 at the rank of captain/lieutenant colonel all the while steadily upgrading my drone which helps out a lot until i can get decent mk protections. Of course cash plays a big part in having a strong account through all the ranks, which is why i am methodical in making sure i never ever rank to quickly. as like most players there is no way i could buy my way through all the different stages at various ranks to compete at the level i want to maintain. All in all it's down to the individual player what he considers is a reasonable effort in any given battle regardless of his rank. I have personally put in a lot of time, effort, and patience (and some cash) into this account and expect with my level of skill and experience no less than a top 2 in every battle i go into (winning side) 1st (losing side).This is what i aim for when i start a new account and my methods for making sure i always have a good score in any battle i go into have helped me to do this through the ranks to my present rank (marshal). The last challenge i done on my marshal account was the 2nd june challenge, after that i only done missions and then i quit for the day. Now i don't even bother with missions and am prepared to wait as long as it takes before i start playing again on my fav account. The unbalanced nature of TO and the very high prices in the shop cash/crystals dictates how i play, what ranks i am prepared to battle against, and even what maps i play on. Such is the demanding nature of TO that in order to do well in battle all these variables (IN MY OPINION) have to be considered. A bit long winded but this is what i do, to do as well as i possibly can in all battles through all the ranks from 2nd lieutenant onwards. At the end of the day each to their own. This i believe is the last time i played this account on 7/7/20 to complete a mission. Notice the major on blue team MM at it's most balanced,though he done ok for his rank i must admit.

yip always top 3 had defender since captain upgraded very slowly thru the ranks been maxed out since colonel...i think, brig at most.

TOP 3 almost every match does not cut it for me. I am not being big headed in any way here, but if im not top spot on losing team are top 2 in winning team 9/10 then it's a very bad result for me. it's what i've been used to on all my main accounts. In order to keep that going i need best garage available along with my style of play to maintain my form throughout all the ranks. Just the type of player i am, also 'im very patient which is why i can wait out this nonsense of fund boosting. This is my opinion, others like yourself will disagree, but as it's my account i do what.. I NO IS BEST.. for me and which has worked out to my benefit for nearly 6 years of playing TO.

Nope nothing wrong with my skills, i do just fine. but i defy anyone to go up against a fully mued garage, of a legend with my account and come out on top in a full on battle.I've been there done that got the T-SHIRT, and nearly always it's a match dominated by HORNETS. Yes for my rank i am strong and get top 3 just about every battle, if not 1st spot win/lose, but thats my rank mabey commander rank, but to constantly go up against legends and get a decent result is asking to much until i get all my protections to at least 48/50. Im competitive to say the least, and not getting in top 3 means a shocking result and a waste of valuable supplies. I've done really well all the way to this rank and to continue to do so in my opinion, i need to get protections and my turrets very close to being maxed out.None of my turrets are maxed yet so there is work to be done before i battle legends on a regular basis. I don't like getting dominated in battle so to avoid this i will just wait out this silly boosting fiasco of funds and continue where i left off when it has run it's course. To many players fall into the trap of ranking to quick and not being able to compete because of a weak garage, i'm not one of them.

Your protections should do ok at 45 but against a strong enemy full of legends on other team you might struggle just a tad.

All protections between 41 / 49....turrets all over half way....hulls maxed out....drone maxed out. No way i would go up against legends with this garage and expect to get top 3. This is one of several reasons why i stopped playing this account...it's to weak and with these boosted funds i would be legend in no time, just not gonna happen. You rank to quick you get slaughtered at legend rank. BAD IDEA.

Always try to get as many maxed out mk7 protections as you can, stick to two hulls and two turrets, try max them out. deff try max out your fav drone. at legend rank if you want to do reasonably well in battles your gonna need more supplies, deff more batteries. In my opinion you have ranked to quick as your protections for legend battles are weak. by legend rank you need all mk7 with at least 45 on everyone possibly 50 on 4/5 of them.you cry wont last you 2 mins even if you upgrade wisely.

Well there is hyperion, if you have a spare 10 zillion supplies in your garage for the 5 battles they will last.

Omg thats class, i am now truly convinced TO is gonna go bust and devs are trying to squeeze as much cash as they can before that happens. 8v1 is beyond belief, although there must have been more on other team at the beginning of battle?

My time spent playing TO on 2 accounts was for missions only, even then i didn't complete either of them, just lost interest like i did on my 2 legend accounts. More players did this then mabey we would get the changes that is desperately needed to balance the game out so it is for the benefit of the majority instead of the minority. it's a shame both good accounts especially the marshal one.

Open your eyes to what is happening in TO, it's getting more and more negative feedback with every unbalanced update they introduce. Wake up, take your blindfold off, and take note of what sensible players are telling you, we no what we are saying is true within the confines of TO, we experience it in every battle we go into, the OP combo of hornet /magnum/rail/vulcan etc that has been a ongoing issue for months, and still persists in dominating any and all battles with it's huge advantage over every other turret/hull combo. This is why we complain, because of the unfair / unbalanced nature of TO that the devs still have not corrected.
