Getting another turret like thunder or twins does not have a steep learning curve, besides: if you know how to aim a railgun, then you will definitely know how to aim a thunder, the margin for error on thunder is much greater due to the splash damage. Twins just takes no skill but is insanely OP. There are of course other turrets without a steep learning curve. Even if he only wants to use rail, he should buy a kit with the hull that he wants to pair with rail, but without rail on top. e.g. if he wants the xp combo, get man-o-war and not legend, and get a free hammer in there, or get healer and get a free isida. Therefore, the benefit of essentially getting a turret "for free" with the hull that he wants to pair with his railgun is great. Heck, even if he dosent use the turret, and he uses the m3 hull with the m2 10/10 rail, he still has an m3 lying in the garage, to be used whenever he may need. You get my point? Buying railgun twice is a massive waste of crystals, and it dosent look like he earns crystals very quickly. He will have time to get 1 piece of equipment to around the 15/20 mark by general I agree, if he focuses all of his crystal earnings solely into MUs.

nothing personal here Guido, but I think youve given him the wrong advice. Look at it this way = he currently has an m3 rail anyway, if he says he can get it for free at marshal. If he gets an m3 kit without rail and MUs it to m4 by marshal, then he has 2 m4s and an m3. If he takes your advice, then he has 2 m4s only, no m3. Far better to have a wider variety of turrets than essentially buy the same turret twice: once through MUs, once in the kit. Perhaps if MUing m2s still deducted kit prices then you would have a good point

At this point, is it still feasible for me to buy shaft m3 on a sale, or should I just focus all my crystals on MUs? Currently have 236k, with 40 gold boxes (willing to drop all to myself if necessary) Perhaps will have around 280k by Christmas if the weekly bonuses continue (plus the golds = 320k) My m3 MUs so far, and my opinions on them: Viking 10/20 - Definitely will get it to at least 15/20 in the near future Thunder 6/20 - Too many protections, no more MUs will be done Smoky 6/20 - Too weak even with MUs, crystals could be better spent. Only if it gets a buff will i consider upgrading Twins 5/20 - Definite contender, very powerful Isida 2/20 - Also very powerful and also a contender, but perhaps not as versatile as twins (I have both twins alts) Railgun 2/20 - Way too many protections, I only use this turret for xpbp Titan 4/20 - A consideration, but my titan is normally used in PRO battles where MUs are off. Hornet 1/20 - Too weak a hull, my main use for it is xpbp Narrows it down to: Twins, Isida, Titan and Viking Perhaps I should get the Isida, Titan and Twins to 10/20 and then buy the shaft? Or just get the Viking to 20/20, get my first m4 asap? It just seems like shaft is such a dominating weapon that I really want to try it out.

Perhaps Id have more to say in this topic if there weren't so many fly hackers around, and if tanki did anything to stop them.

So tanki succumbs to the hackers once again. So many fly hackers going into high-fund games, taking containers and then leaving. Noone records games 24/7, and the fly hack is almost too fast to screenshot - you never know if they are a hacker or not until its too late. Something must be done about this, we are being conned.

Haha you raise a fair point but do keep in mind, how often do you hear of smoky 1v1s? Or even striker 1v1s? These turrets take just as much skill as railgun, striker maybe even more, yet do you hear anyone saying "i am pro striker want 1v1?" Put "railgun" where "striker" is in that sentence and you have one of the most common phrases in tanki. About me "completely destroying them", check my profile. I am by no means an xpbp player, or a railgun user. Heck, I even picked up the gamemode at field marshal. Thus, that picture was to show that, while there may be some true masters of rail, the majority are merely average or below (i am average)

I'd be a lot more likely to buy these containers if they gave out free Mu steps or free m3s instead of these paints. Clever way of tanki generating revenue without affecting the buyer-f2p balance by offering cosmetics instead of gameplay benefits.

I am a personal fan of Parma, Rio, Serpuhov, Kungur, Iran, Highland and Desert. A good, balanced Iran CTF is one of the best experiences in Tanki. Too bad that rarely happens. Not many hated maps, only maps I really despise are Lost Temple, Highways, Esplanade and Gravity I only play non pro battles for missions anyway, so Ill chose the battle that suits my mission the most - for drops ill go somewhere like kungur, for finish 1st ill go Highland or Desert (easy for twins), for Dm experience/crystals ill go to Polygon and so on.

not everything... though we do seem to have conflicitng opinions the majority of the time cyclops = shaft mammoth kit, and he was asking about good m2 kits, so I just stated the obvious and said that you would be inclined to say shaft, since thats your primary turret, and you think its OP. ofc Guido is an advocate for shaft, but obviously thats a biased opinion. Not everyone likes the sit and wait camper shaft playstyle, which is basically what you have to do with mammoth shaft.

Best kits are Glaze, Minotaur, Ram and Atlas (possibly Pitbull too).

Its also the only turret for XP/BPI dont think that when there is only one option it should be considered the best option, because it is also the worst option.
