Do the Devs even realize that their new "cool" ideas are ruining the game?
EmeraldCat replied to EmeraldCat in Archive
Oh, I see, can't respond to my whole paragraph? It's okay to admit defeat. What I mean is, they decided to use the number 7, which would be a lot harder to be divvied up from 4 Modifications. If they used 8, they would've been able to divide each modification by 2. 2 marks would equal 1 Modification. Simple. Sorry if you can't count to 8. That's a bummer. 8 is a real good number. -

It's a good theory, I'd assume it's semi-correct, but Tanki X was announced to be shut down back in September 2019. The Devs started losing their players back in October 2018 for Tanki Online, because they added a few updates during that time that really upset a lot of players. I know because I was one of the many people who disliked those updates. Tanki had a dramatic decrease in numbers after 2018. You're correct about the money problem though, Tanki X's, Tanki Online's decrease in numbers, and Flash<HTML5 all really made them lose money. Which is why they're desperate and trying to add "cool" ideas to try and fix their game. But it doesn't seem to be working. In my opinion, the game is gonna die before they can generate enough money. They won't be able to even generate enough money since the game is already dead. -

True, but, it's the developers decision to add ideas into the game, they have full control. They listen to the bad ideas rather than the good ideas, and they don't remove the in game bad ideas that were suggested in the Forum, but they do ruin the good ideas that have been in the game for years. You're not even allowed to suggest deleting things that are already in the game, that's a Forum rule. You suggest an idea like that, the mods are forced to copy/paste the rule book and not give their opinions on your idea, and then decline your idea. Honestly, the Moderator System is flawed nowadays, it's the sad truth. -

M-system was way better, here's why. It was more understandable than Mk, because you got only 4Ms, it was a lot more simple. Now we have 7 different modifications(Marks). If Tanki was big brain, they'd do 8Mk's that way M1 would equal Mk2. But even 8Mks would not be great. The modification system introduced different shot effects and skins for each modification, which made upgrading your equipment unique. It made it worth upgrading your stuff, so that you can have a new look with your new power. Now everyone looks the same, and the only way to get a special skin is through containers where they randomize what you get. I use Hunter and I want a Hunter XT, but the container gave me a Viking XT, but I don't use Viking and it is M0, that's a high level of un-satisfaction there. The modification system was also "buyer friendly" which persuaded more people to buy crystals to upgrade their stuff, thus giving the devs money, thus making stuff like pay-to-"use augments and drones" not necessary so that the devs can make a living. A Pro Friendly player like myself learned how to earn a lot of crystals without spending money and learned to spend my crystals wisely and ended up getting the best benefits from doing so. Another thing Tanki messed up badly on was nostalgia. If you rework/change something that's been in the game and has been causing no/few problems for 10 WHOLE YEARS, people are gonna get upset. Last but not least, balancing of equipment stats is a requirement, but not of players' skill level. That is not a requirement, as there will always be bad and good players in the game. -

Oh I see, well I'm sorry that you can't understand things very well, it's totally fine. :) -

Most people never upgraded it to M1 10/10, because it was 1 of the most expensive M2 turrets. The M2 also required a higher rank than other turrets. The M1 didn't increase too much stats, which is why it was cheaper and at a lower rank. Only buyers would be able to get M1 10/10 Smokies instantly. -

Ah, a great opportunity to gain players and revenue, ay? Hmmm, were you playing the game back in the late 2018s, because, that was the time when player count dropped dramatically because recent updates messed the game up, the devs still haven't fixed these problems and I still haven't seen an increase in players since then. Now, Tanki mobile has been out for like, a year? 2 years? Somewhere in between? It was active during the time when Tanki lost most of its players, but, oh, Tanki is still dead, so please explain to me why Tanki Mobile hasn't helped gain more players and more revenue. Also, it is not strange, most companies do have to scrap their hard worked ideas because people didn't like it. You're just gonna waste your time on something no one is interested in so it's best scrapping the idea asap. Now, my Tanki rank is Colonel, I'm in, what was supposed to be, the M2 ranks. Here's a picture of a battle I joined on Matchmaking just now: GS Scores So, you said that Mk's helped? Explain to me why players who are 1 rank above mine have a GS score of 3-4k. Pretty sure players should have GS scores near mine at this rank, but it looks like they all are still low powered because they gotta save for these "more expensive upgrades," because they can't earn enough crystals. Sound familiar? Well, it should compared to what you told me. Now, this is just one picture, but I assure you, most battles I join look like this. -

There are tons of better alternatives than what Tanki currently did. Also, I like how they're taking ideas off a game that was shut down(Tanki X). -

Exactly, something kinda like that. anything works as long as it has nothing to do with the main game. -

Tanki should have never been a mobile game in the first place. Granted, I thought of the idea years ago because sometimes I never had access to my computer, so, I understand why Tanki decided to add it, but they're "biting off more than they can chew" they are taking on challenges that they can't even complete. For one, if controls are so hard for mobile players and the Devs can't fix the controls, then the alternative isn't to add new hulls, it's to scrap that idea and move on with life. I recommend they try and fix the controls, instead of adding things that don't make sense to the game. Another thing to do is to separate mobile players with computer players. That way, things are a lot more fair controls wise. As for the Mark system, there was nothing wrong with the Modification system, I believe that the rank requirements and pricings were perfectly fine, and the time it took to micro upgrade was fine as well. The Devs just decided to make things longer to upgrade. Plus, each Modification had its own unique look to the equipment, which was another thing that made people happy to wanna even upgrade their equipment... Until the Devs decided to get rid of the M0-M2 designs. Now everyone looks the same, isn't that great? To look cooler, spend money to buy an XT container and get a skin for a turret you don't even use. Amazing right? First off, there was nothing wrong with Magnum's controls, it was the same as rotating your turret. Just us Z and X. The reason why Magnum got changed was because people were complaining they weren't good at Magnum, it's not like they trained with Magnum and attempted to master its ability, they had no excuse to convert Magnum to a horizontal rotating turret. Like I said, if Tanki's only option was to add things into the game that changes gameplay and makes no sense, like hovering hulls and Magnums special vertical rotation ability, then mobile shouldn't exist for Tanki Online. Or, the Devs can keep figuring out how to fix mobile controls. Another good idea would be to separate mobile players from computer players, that way, you'll play with players who have the same controls as you, and the game won't be ruined. You ever wonder why they don't do sales on shop items in events? It's because on mobile, the Google Play Store doesn't allow discounts on in-game prices. PC Tanki never had this problem. Can't wait to see what other problems mobile Tanki brings to the game. :) -

Oh definitely, I'm going to buy an alteration that costs over 100k crystals for a feature that was previously for free. If people thought Magnum was hard to control, then they should find a different turret. If you learn to master Magnum, you'd have no trouble. -

Exactly, they ruined Magnum's main feature, which was to only turn vertical. X'ing out horizontal turning. It was supposed to change vertically so you can be a mortar. But nope, Tanki ruined that. If they were smart, they'd separate mobile players from PC players. -

I thought I'd ask this since another hovering hull is being added to the game. This time, it's for the medium hulls. We had 9 hulls in the game which was a perfect number since there were 3 classes and 3 hulls in each class. Of course, I'm not too happy that the new hulls are hovering. Like, this isn't Hovercrafti, this is Tanki, it's a game of tanks, look up the definition of tank and you'll see that hovering tanks are nowhere close to being a tank. The hovering hulls aren't the only problem. We got these new overdrives that really ruin gameplay and are super unbalanced. We also got drones that allow you to have hacks. We have Hull Augments and Augments themselves that were perfectly fine when they were Alterations, when you could have a bonus to your turret, but have a minus to it as well, and hull augments should never exist, they suck. The Mk system makes no sense and should be reverted back to the modification system, and the M0-M2 designs should be returned. Along with their shot effects. The shot effects that can be unlocked through containers got to go too. Sooner or later, Tanki is gonna lose too many players that the Devs have no choice but to shut down their game, and get new jobs, which explains why everything in the shop is overpriced, they're losing money because they're messing up the game. They think adding "cool" things are gonna make people return and they'll get people back, but they're wrong. I'll be waiting for the day to come, when the Devs have to shut Tanki down. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but good luck with that. -
You kinda missed the point there. Tanki never revolved around XPBP battles.

Obviously, Vulcan is alright the way it is, maybe a few tiny nerfs would do, but I thought of a new type of Vulcan, just an idea that I'd like to share. A close ranged machine gun that doesn't overheat when the ammo bar drops to 0, instead it'll work like Firebird or Freeze, where you'll have to recharge your ammo when hitting 0, but you can still shoot if you're in the middle of reloading. The gyroscopic effect when shooting won't exist for this Vuclan either. One other change is that its bullets won't have a straight path. Instead, the bullets will have a spread angle, kind of like Hammer. Of course, Vulcan's spread angle would be thinner. Here are my created stats, these aren't legit and you can decide to change them whenever you'd like, it's just a general idea of what it'll do. Damage(Sec) Mk1: 400 Mk7 20/20: 800 Bullet Damage Mk1: 50 Mk7 20/20: 100 Bullets/Sec Mk1: 8 Mk7 20/20: 8 Barrel Startup(Sec) Mk1: 1 Mk7 20/20: 0.75 Shooting Duration(Sec) Mk1: 8 Mk7 20/20: 8 Reload(Sec) Mk1: 9 Mk7 20/20: 6.75 Vertical Spread(Deg) Mk1: 5 Mk7 20/20: 5 Horizontal Spread(Deg) Mk1: 5 Mk7 20/20: 5 Range of Min Damage(m) Mk1: 50 Mk7 20/20: 70 Range of Max Damage(m) Mk1: 40 Mk7 20/20: 60 Rotation Speed(Deg/Sec) Mk1: 80 Mk7 20/20: 150

Good idea. :)

Instead of nerfing the Defender Drone, the best course of action would be to delete every drone for good. They were a bad idea in Tanki to begin with, literally giving you hacks. A lot of problems could be solved with the removal of Drones.

@24K This upgrading system won't work for Alterations. Here's why. Alterations are percent based, meaning that they will change when you upgrade your equipment. Like if my turret at M0 does 800 damage and 1600 damage at M4, and I decide to give it an alteration that adds 50% to my damage, M0 will now deal 1200 damage and M4 will deal 2400 damage. This is fair because Tanki goes by a certain type of rule when it comes to M0-M3 20/20s. M4s are just M0s but doubled protection or double damage, every hulls speed is increased by 20%, and every reload should be decreased by 25%. Tanki has its own system, and when it comes to percentages being upgraded every level, it'll make things unbalanced. Also, alterations shouldn't get upgrades because they were made to give yourself a new feel with your turret. Like, making my Smoky become an auto-cannon. That alteration shouldn't be upgraded because why would I want to have 2 sets of upgrades for my Auto-Cannon Smoky? Is this the price I have to pay when I give my turret something to change its performance?
