update Patch Update #748 - Released 8th December 2023
Annihilation replied to Marcus in News Archive
I use magnum a lot, and even I agree that the nerf was a necessity. Maybe not to such a huge degree though. Vacuum core NEEDED a gigantic nerf. It rewarded you for missing your targets, and with magnum's old splash range it was ridiculous, you couldn't hide from it if you tried. I always prefer to play magnum actually hitting targets (not least because I never got vacuum core lol). However, now that splash is incredibly unreliable for even damaging a lot of targets I do feel like a damage increase is welcome. At medium ranges, it's fine as it is, but actually hitting your targets from faraway deserves rewarding with a proper amount of damage. It's in the name, magnum, it should hit stupid hard whilst remaining hard to use. Although with the aim assist I do suppose it would be rather OP... Mag was better before that change, actually took skill to hit your shots. Though we all know that skill is irrelevant in this game if you have the money to spend instead. -
I've noticed that trying to play a quick battle has essentially just become TJR. Is it just me? It feels like I get put into a TJR battle more than every other battle and it's ridiculous. I don't want to try play 1 gamemode and wait 5 minutes for a battle, I want to play a mixture of formats but when I try to use the in-built feature that it meant to let me do that, I just get put into TJR battles. I hate it, I hate TJR, and frankly I hate the game too (but that's for a lot more reasons). Can you at least add a means of blacklisting certain formats under the "quick battle" mode so I can just stop getting forced to play the second worst gamemode tanki has to offer? All just full of sweats unless it's your team where every jugg is just a mult that stands in the open. Extend the bots to legend rank battles too. Lot more fun than playing against other people in MM, and your teammates play better than other players too. Yeah i know this is getting rejected, idrc anymore. Haven't for a long time. Tanki doesn't do stuff for players, only for their bottom-line.

I've been using crisis pretty much exclusively for the past few months since I maxed it. I don't do anything more than supermissions when they're on, and my supplies are still going up. It'll only be a problem for people who spend wayyyyy too much time playing this dead game
-
Oh I am going to aggravate so many people with this
-
Can't deny that, and lets not be niche here. We know those clans, we've faced them. The likes of "[BOSS]" who are anything but their tag, or [143] which is just full of helpers and moderators who just get special treatment (Yeah, I know you're reading this, and you'll get all salty and delete the post, but you know it's true.) I still stand by the old suggestion to make it so players in groups are forbidden from using the same hull/turret as anyone else in the group, or switch to said turret in the midst of battle.
-
Bruh, hammer isn't even OP with most augments. Freeze and firebird do far too much damage in such a small amount of time, isida vampire is still incredibly busted when used with defender/crisis, tesla and twins pulsar are still both problematic at the best of times, thunder vacuum is still everywhere and still a pain to deal with, both rail and thunder hyperspeed augments (while rare) are frustrating. I don't feel as though hammer itself is that strong, it has its moments when it shines but I would much rather be using something else. It's just fun to use stun hammer to purposefully ruin people who're starting to use their overdrive lol.
-
Only way that'll happen is if we get a new development team not hellbent on milking the "cows"...
-
Can we all make a pact to use hammer protection until the new augment gets nerfed to the ground? I want those sweaty buyers who forked over hundreds, if not thousands to buy stars to achieve nothing, and get no satisfaction out of using their new toy. Better yet, if you see them in battle in the opposing team, just leave the battle. They can't interfere with you if you refuse to fight them at all, and they still get nothing good out of it. Exactly what they deserve; nothing. I feel like, no, I know that the devs purposefully put the actually good augment at the very final race knowing that only the team with the most buyers could actually get it, their preferred side of the playerbase, that is. If you were just lucky enough to get put onto Houston Tankini without swapping teams, good for you and you are not at fault. I would say that the next event should not allow stars bought with tankcoins to count, but I am not stupid and I know that they would never do that as it hurts their bottom line by not handing out more bait to those thirsty enough, stupid enough to flip the bill for it. Alas, until those with their heads in the clouds come to their senses, the path that tanki treads will not change.
-
A gamemode where only stars earned in battle would be fine, but a gamemode where that's true AND stars that people BUY count is completely rigged. This game has become an absolute joke, everyone knows this by this point, but this isn't even trying to hide it anymore. At the time of writing this, in stage 3, Bulls has over 56000 stars. I sure as hell as know that didn't come from battling. I think I know which team is going to win, considering it is entirely rigged towards the biggest spenders. At the very least mission stars should've counted, but you just want people to suffer through playing MM for hours each day, or to fork over their actually hard-earned tankcoins for anything remotely good, and that'll only ever be won by a single team anyway. If you're on any other team than Houston Tankin, just don't bother. Don't buy into it, it's a complete waste of time and effort. You have better things to do with your life, and you know you do. Lastly, to those who have purchased thousands of stars, you're the problem with the game. Period. Go touch grass. Let me give you the math, I know, scary, oooooh numbers! In the full 2 days (not considering the downtime from server restart, sleep, eating, or bathroom breaks) you have 48 hours of gameplay. If you were to do each battle fully and come 1st, gaining 6 stars per battle, you would end up with a total of (48x4x6) 1152 stars from just battling. But then I'll take it a step further considering not all battles will be full-length due to objectives being completed prematurely. I'll be generous with this, and give an average of 5 minutes per battle, which would come out to 3 times as many stars in the same time period, resulting in 3456 stars in total. I know that nobody will just be sitting here playing this game for a full 2 days straight without so much as a bathroom break or snack. I also know that battle length will vary much more heavily, as per why I say a 5 minute average was generous. If you have gained more than 3456 stars in the time period of one of the event stages, stop it, get some help, you need it. Put down the credit card, go outside, get a life.

update Patch Update #712 - Released 13th January 2023
Annihilation replied to Marcus in News Archive
A long needed update, with pretty much everything I wanted. Vampire nanobots nerf, helios nerf, vacuum/hyperspeed shells somewhat nerf, paladin nerf, Gauss AP actually viable now. Changes to magnum will be interesting... -
Yeah so when is the next token of apology coming? ? One thing remains set in stone - Tanki devs don't solve problems, even when they say they have. Game "Balance", bug patches, server fixes. Once in a blue moon is even a tiny problem remedied, except with it typically comes a number of other, bigger problems.

They're buyers, in a dead game. Crisis is only useful for ending horrific jugg battles quicker, dreadful gamemode since scorpion was added and everyone always just says "oh just hide behind a wall" except most maps don't have many great places for that. It's the only mode I use crisis in, just so i can get on with other battles quicker. Braindead strategies for a braindead gamemode. Also yes, jammer fire. To defend from Crisis. It's surprisingly effective, and i'm not exactly a short range turret type of guy. Jammer hammer also somewhat reliable, and shock freeze is also fun, watching them try to escape... It really just depends on the map and gamemode. Regardless I will have an option to ruin their day, and enjoying it to its fullest to waste their time is the stuff of dreams. Only good part about this game is making it less fun for those who ruin it for everyone who tries to play fairly.
-
You'd be surprised. Having been using Jammer fire to defend in CTF then switching to EMP Gauss after they change, they either become ineffective or ragequit. I couldn't care less about taking protection modules into account, they mean nothing anymore because of crits and status effects.
-
Tbh i'll be happy enough if this gets to 9 million. Jammer rail sounds like the most "f-you" thing to anyone using crisis. Anything that ruins the days of crisis users, or at least forces them to switch to jammer immunity and be susceptible to EMP/AP brings a smile to my face, not many things do that. There is no better feeling than forcing a buyer to change equipment/leave the battle.

category Ideas for Supplies and Drones!
Annihilation replied to Ilia.ArchangeI in Ideas and Suggestions
Tbh I hate this mentality, defending is as vital to the game as attacking in most gamemodes. If you don't like mines, too bad. As someone who happily abuses saboteur drone on maps with few entrances/exits, I have a great time defending the base and camping. There's many playstyles in tanki, and many counters to people who use tons of mines. Point is it's a very valid way of defending - It's literally the entire point or stopping attackers from getting flags/capturing balls/escaping home base. It doesn't kill gameplay, it just prioritizes killing the person placing the mines before taking the flag and such. Staying alive and keeping their mines around is their goal, and miners who don't try to do that are just bad at their own job. Sorry that you hate our defensive playstyles, but it's a part of the game which is specifically there to counter people like you. Defending is as vital to the game as attacking - Simple as that.- 2,764 replies

I agree, the Juggernaut as a tank is pretty weak. It can get destroyed in mere seconds in so many ways when people play carelessly with it, and because there's so much broken equipment in the game that deals so much damage. Juggernaut HP needs a rather generous buff - Perhaps at the cost of OD charge speed. But this is only if protection modules get disabled for the juggernaut user. A side-note would also be how people become juggernaut - because it is truly, irrefutably obnoxious to end up on a team where a few people who die all the time end up becoming juggernaut over and over - pretty much losing the entire battle with no resolve to it. Personally i'd prefer seeing the juggernaut distribution work in a similar way to how Solo JGR works. It would work like so; the next juggernaut is randomly selected upon the death of the previous one. Where the player would get a warning of self destruction, informed prior that they were the next juggernaut. It will stop the same people from getting it over and over again, especially those who can't help but stand in the firing line and not doing anything to even remotely contribute to the battle.
-
Good players left when the meta moved from skill to p2w. If you honestly want to return to skill-based gameplay, go play one of the fan-made tanki games, relive the good days. Before containers, overdrives, status effects, drones, matchmaking, etc.
-
The idea is simple - When somebody is the juggernaut, their selected protection modules have no effect. It is atrocious in battles when somebody with maxed protections, armadillo, or worse of all - spectrum, becomes juggernaut. They will just tank hits (literally) for the entire battle whilst picking everyone off if they have even a tiny bit of skill. The removal of the utilisation of protection modules for the juggernaut would make it so anyone with any turret hasn't got a disadvantage compared to somebody else, as well as make it less likely for one person to be able to stay juggernaut the entire battle since nobody has much affect on them. Overall, this would help with the balance... at least when scorpion gets nerfed, because that thing dominates juggernauts on most maps, and that's not even bringing up crisis/camper strategies which is another problem itself.

Most augments have their descriptions put in a light where they are "the ultimate thing". But they're usually underwhelming, and compared to their descriptions more so. But if these augments did as they were described, then there'd be little point to immunities to the effects of them. Juggernaut has universal immunity, where it is left unaffected by everything. It's the same with paladin overdrive and the brief moment whilst using a repair kit. If there were augments which could simply bypass the immunity to them, then it would be devastating for game balance, of which there isn't much to speak of anyway. They're not going to change the description for augments just because an odd few people somehow don't realise that something meant to apply Armor-piercing doesn't do such thing to people with Armor-piercing immunity or polarisation (repair kit, paladin OD...). I would like to believe that most people don't really care much for the descriptions to begin with, I know I don't. The effect is given away by the very icon of the augment anyway. I could say the same about this augment as I could for Super-Armor-Piercing-Rounds for Railgun, if they were so "super", then they'd pierce armor even in spite of having Armor-piercing immunity... You see how it just wouldn't work? Use common sense, the descriptions (for those who even bother to read them) are to make the augments sound more powerful than they usually are. Other times it gives a brief description on what the augment does - which is better overall.

A Buyers Perspective: My opinion on recent Tanki Fund Giveaway. Why I am now losing interest in this game.
Annihilation replied to VALENTINO_LOVE007 in Archive
Here's the thing though, buyers have been able to run around with OP crap for months, years even. We've only just gotten it now, and it'll take some time to get the upgrades done given both crisis and armadillo aren't just given at full power, fully upgraded. Armadillo especially will break the bank for most people before it even reaches MK7. Crisis is weak like every other drone with few upgrades, and it gobbles supplies at a ludicrous speed. Your complaints are genuinely unjust, you just don't want the game to be balanced. The game would be better off without crisis and armadillo altogether. I would much prefer to see nobody with OP garbage, but I will take light buyers having it too over just the lucky, annoying few having them. I got both from the tanki fund. Will I use Armadillo? Absolutely, when it is MK7. Will I use Crisis? Yes, because it's literally just a better booster drone for camping. Combine that with Scorpion when it comes out to everyone, and you become frustrating to deal with at best. To be honest I feel like Crisis should cost a lot more to fully upgrade than it does, much like Armadillo. Buyers still get broken equipment to dominate battles with that f2p hasn't. Think the new hyperspeed shells for Thunder, Scorpion in general (It'll only get nerfed upon launch to everyone). Your choice to quit upon the game becoming more balanced is honestly a good thing. Your personality regarding the issue is just plain toxic, and it becomes a better place without people of your mindset. Well, as good as tanki gets anyway. Farewell, and good riddance. May many more buyers who ruin the game follow in your stride. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm just being brutally honest. Many, many players will agree. Alas, the moderators will not, crying in a corner about wanting to reject reality because most of them are a part of the problem, being heavy buyers themselves. -
You know, you didn't need to say that. Just saying.
-
Sorry to say it then bud, but your gaming history has been sad. Those games have elements of p2w, but it's more to speed up progress or buy cosmetics which are entirely optional. You don't need to buy anything to actually stay competitive and have a jolly old time. In tanki you can have mk7 equipment at Major now. Where the majority of people will likely still be using mk4-5. In no other game have I seen anywhere near as much disadvantage for f2p. For a game to be successful, it needs to be fun, and in free online games especially, it needs to be fun without you having to spend a fortune first. It might as well be a paid title, but we all know nobody would spend a good chunk of money on it having played it. A huge issue with this game shrinking is a combined two things: P2W at low ranks (where it's even more broken) and people doing "RTL" accounts. People with the game knowledge of legends should not be going back to the start of the game, especially with the idea to spend a fortune to dominate the game all the way up to legend. It discourages new people. I know if I saw things like that when I began playing, I'd have put this game down long ago. Money should never dominate skill, in any game.
-
Would you really like to go there? Ok then. I'm going to assume you're on about shooters like tanki rather than in general, because on general terms I could go on for days. In terms of shooters... PvZ GW games, TF2, CSGO, R6S, Battlefield, Older COD games, even Fortnite, as much as I despise the game. Of course there's a lot more, but that's besides the point. Most games do have p2w elements, but unlike in tanki, in most cases it won't be shoved down your throat and seem almost required to play. One huge reason is because of a proper matchmaking system that works to filter players out. All because most of those games are actually alive, alive and breathing. Tanki used to be, and now... well, they don't even show active players now, that's how dead it is. Tanki just gave nearly 200,000 rubles, do you really think they're desperate for money to be giving away stacks like that? The game is barely even playable anyway, maybe they should spend some of it on actually getting better hardware to run the game servers and pay security developers to prevent the DDOS attacks. That's just my advice though, although I know it won't be heeded. They don't listen to the community, you know.
-
@xDelicate Got friends who do play, mostly clanmates. Plus I figured why not waste my life away on a game that's been wasting away even longer. That's me, a dead-beat on a dead-game. Match made in heaven, and that's proper matchmaking for you ?
-
@max6782, my friend, I just don't like broken equipment being in the game to begin with. Sadly, it is the reality I have to endure. I don't like critical hits, I don't like drones, I don't like status effects and I don't like matchmaking, but yet I must deal with them all to play the game properly. I have no issue with f2p having broken equipment. I don't even have an issue with p2p having exclusive equipment. I just want that equipment to be balanced from the very start, or at least shortly after. The developers are getting paid for doing nothing more than ruining what's left. Hi, I'm Annihilation, I'm your unfriendly neighbourhood nihilist. You might see me around judging the developers in update threads - Right now I'm just judging the tanki fund, so that's what I'm doing here. Currently typing this out to reply to yours truly. How blessed you are...
