There is already a subreddit for this game ... devs probably want to easily control the narrative, hence this new subreddit.

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
LambSauce replied to TheCongoSpider in Game Discussion
He'll never get rid of them. Too much money. It's not a game, it's a business. -
Not just that, they practically make their living off such players. Players buying bundles and funding the Tanki funds are Hazel's most valuable customers.
-
Pointing out stupidity =/= caring about it. In fact I'm laughing.
-
That's an objectively bad way to spend millions ? can't help people who have that level of intellect
-
His wallet will demolish this event ?
-
Because you must have a deeply rooted sense of insecurity to spend this level of cash on a video game, trying to be the best in a dying game ?
-
How is it hard to imagine? Did you see the list of players with hundreds and hundreds of stars in the challenge? It hasn't even been running for 24 hours ... https://pages.tankionline.com/challenge-accepted?lang=en
-
It's about half of the playerbase I'd say. Hazel was very smart in monetising the game, I'll give him that.
-
Hazel also said they're making an "[expletive] ton of money," so I highly doubt he's talking about tens of thousands. He most probably was talking in terms of euros.
-
Hazel said they are "making millions" ... it takes millions to make some skins and remaster maps? ?
-
Did you even watch the livestream? Taspens sat there and didn't question anything and Hazel was too busy giggling about how many millions the game is making. He was being snarky and condescending. He also brushed aside many important issues with a "maybe" or a "we'll do it someday". If the game is sitting on so much cash why aren't they investing it into actual content. Not aesthetics. Not copy-pasting augments. Not endless bundles. Then that would explain why many of them have such terrible judgement. ?
-
Dude, it's an expression. An idiom. And I was being bluntly honest about Hazel's attitude ? Because some mods have no life outside this forum ... and perceptions get skewed. And that's putting it nicely.
-
No one wants to revert to "old Tanki", but fixing some basic things like MM and toning down the status effects would be a good start. By your own logic, this drivel right here is "provocative". No rules were broken. Interpreting anything negative as "provocation" is neither helpful nor honest.

There's already a bunch of players with hundreds and hundreds of stars .... how pathetic.
-
Dude, my comment was referring to Hazel's attitude during the live stream .... did you even watch it? My comment is not even aimed at him. Besides, it's literally a fact that the devs treat the playerbase as a bunch of kids who don't know what they want. Anyways, I'm sure you don't mind that Hazel was trolling @MEXICAN-SKY recently, giving him ChatGPT-generated answers and mocking him to his face, not to mention the uncensored swear words he loves to include in his posts. You should categorise that as provocative, as it easily meets your standards as such. I guess expecting more humility and professionalism from a lead dev is too much to ask these days. I remember it was some nominal cost per month that could be easily paid off by playing 1-2 battles.
-
Got it. So by that logic, the tiniest ounce of criticism can be simply dismissed as "provocation." How hard is it to not write the comment you just wrote... It's hilarious you actually think that's an overly harsh or provocative statement. Don't take it so seriously then ?
-
Most of this is correct. However, back then you could simply create a battle with the parameters you liked, rank limited or not, and if that battle didn't suit you, you were free to make another. Now you're thrown in with everyone into a meat grinder of overdrives, drones, a billion status effects, etc. and that's the only way to progress. So that's why it's misleading. No one's denying the game always had a P2W element, however back then it was entirely possible and even common to avoid the P2W and play battles to your own liking. Now you can't.
-
Dude, in most of these examples, they are in a position of authority over you. On the other hand, the lead developer of Tanki is providing a service. We the players are consumers of this service. If we don't like the service being provided, we can leave AND/OR we are free to voice our opinions on this forum or elsewhere. Obviously, the forum of course has rules about language used and stuff like that. No rules were broken. By this logic you can claim every form of honest criticism is "provocation". Honestly you should apply to be a mod, you seem to follow their line of thinking to a T.
-
Where? There's no sign of it being edited. Voicing my opinion on the lead developer's mindset is "provocation and insult on a personal basis"? .... I assume that's what you're referring to. Come on, you're really stretching it there. At best it's a form of criticism, nothing "derogatory" there. By your logic, every time Hazel includes a swear word or shows any criticism towards players, such posts should automatically be deleted. How does harsh criticism == condescension? Seriously dude, get off that high horse .... you keep making such bad faith arguments.
-
It was @Taspen's interview, not mine. I simply posted it on the discussion threads for the benefit of the forum. Right on point.
-
Also, the idea that the game was more P2W back in the day is misleading because back then you could CHOOSE the battle you wish to play, whether it was a no supplies battle or XP/BP, etc. Now, you are FORCED to play in matchmaking with all the toxic mega-buyers and that's the ONLY way to progress. PRO battles are just a gimmick now, even if they're more enjoyable than MM, at least for me.

Tankoins to unlock each modification? For every turret and hull? But new players are ranking way too fast, so now they will be even more broke. Good job!
