It's always nice to remember the good old days, but I'd say the game seems to have aged pretty well.

A look of disdain flashed briefly on the boy's face. "Is that what those memories are now, Cassie? Meaningless?" Cassie looked down at her feet, fighting back tears. "She took us there to have a good time. We enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed each being with other. She may be gone now, but the value of the time we spent out there isn't just lost." The boy moved down the railing and leaned up next to his sister. His voice quivered as he continued. "It hurts so much now that she is gone. And if she had a choice, like, some way to prevent the inevitable, I know she would have chosen life; she would want to stay here with us. Not just because she loved us, but because we love her, and she would know how horrible we would feel without her." The lady wiped her eyes but continued staring downward. The driveway was three stories below them. "A death in the family is the worst thing a person will ever go through, but it's also a time to remember how important it is to stay alive-" The boy choked on his words as he started crying. "Jacob-." "Because if we stop living, who else's life will be ruined because we are gone?" Jacob sank to his knees as his tears hit the balcony floor. "Cassie, please come back inside. Please don't destroy us. Please... don't destroy me." Cassie turned and peered into the moonless night sky, just for a moment, before she stepped down from the railing and laid her hand on her little brother's back. ******** Two weeks ago, a good friend, whom I have known all of my life, stepped down from the railing. I know we hear it a lot from many different places, and that may eventually cause us to ignore and even forget it, so I am going to say it here, again, as only a friend of a survivor can. Please, I beg you to remember that you are never alone. You are never without hope. No matter how bad life becomes, it can't get any worse than ending. People need you, whether you know it or not, whether they act like it or not. You may be the only thing keeping someone off the railing.

Was rooting around the site yesterday, trying to find the Twitch streamer section. Since there isn't one, I asked a mod where to announce that I'm streaming Tanki, and he said this page is the closest thing there is. Time to add a twitch section mayhaps...? “Oh my god” is all the receptionist could manage to say as I staggered in through the front door and collapsed across a waiting room chair. It’s a miracle that I survived the drive from the job site fifteen miles away. The doctor’s office I’d stumbled into was just a walk-in clinic, and they were wholly unprepared to receive a patient who had completely stopped breathing. I woke up some time later, lying on a cold vinyl bench with about a dozen electrodes stuck to my chest. A woman in a blue uniform was talking to me, but I was under anesthesia and couldn’t understand much of what she was saying. Something about me having respiratory shutdown, and that I should rest. Darkness enveloped me, and I passed out to the sound of my own screaming. Today, I’m sitting in front of my computer, sipping my iced tea, and smiling at the gold box I just caught. Thank God for Tanki Online. For the past several months, the electrical contractor company I work for has been toiling over a new school that’s being built about an hour from where I live. We, the employees, have been told that sixty hours per week is the bare minimum amount of time we can give to finish the project by the deadline. That schedule worked out well for the first week or two, but one by one, people started calling in to work, saying they were having joint pain, or allergic reactions to the immense concentration of asbestos dust in the air, or one of a myriad of other physical discomforts. I was having them, too, but I kept stubbornly working, determined to prove myself more resilient and reliable. Slowly but surely, the workload of my AWOL coworkers was shifting to me. The spirit might have been willing, but the flesh proved too weak. My allergic reaction to the asbestos turned into a sinus infection, which wouldn’t have been much of a problem, if it weren’t for my overtaxed body already starting to break down from the stress of too much heavy labor. I was literally too stressed-out to continue. Now, I’m watching the freshly-recorded video of my Firebird Hornet blazing around a Novel DM, going ham on the unsuspecting passerby. For the first time in almost a year, I feel at peace inside. One year ago, I quit playing Tanki Online and retired from its official newspaper because I thought I didn’t need it anymore. I guess I somehow believed I had outgrown the concepts of relaxation and escapism, so I abandoned both and promptly threw myself entirely into my work. As a result, I have advanced tremendously in my company, and I am very proud of that. But I’ve also lost thirty pounds, and I’ve had bronchitis, pneumonia, anxiety attacks, and the traumatic episode that played out Friday. At this rate, I may never live to spend all the money I’m making. That’s why I’ve decided to slow the heck down and focus on enjoying life again. Everyday pleasures like writing a poem, drinking iced tea on my porch, and obliterating enemy tanks with this suspicious-looking new turret called “Striker” won’t make me forget how short life is, as I was so concerned I would a year ago. If I’m going to die, I want to die happy. That might just mean dying after diving into a gold box.

Wow, it's been a while since this topic was posted in. Someone must have done some digging... and you know why people dig, don't you? They dig because they are looking for dirt. Anyway, 1.) Practically the first thing you said is that there are a lot of supply and kit buyers. That's very true. They are in the vast majority. So what does that mean? That means that the non-supply users are in the minority, duh, and therefore are imbalancing the game by not using them. If nons would use them, they'd put a check on the power of the supply user, who only has power because people don't use supplies to fight back. 2.) I wouldn't consider having a rich family to be a problem, per se, but whatever. And as I just said, nons are not the normal users as they are the minority. Your following statement shows an apparent lack of understanding of why people play things like Tanki to begin with. Why the hell would anyone play unless he's trying to satisfy himself? You honestly think people log in to this game every day so someone can kick their butt? Sorry, but this is not a charity organization where people come to give you an easy kill and lots of crystals. You want the reward, then work for it, and you can't work without the right tools. Use the supplies you get in daily missions for pete's sake. If that doesn't give you enough then you aren't using them right. 3.) Forced to use supplies? Yeah, you're also forced to use a tank. Supplies are just as much an indispensable part of the game as the rest of the equipment, and I don't see anyone whining and complaining about how the different turrets imbalance the game. 4.) I wasn't arguing, I was stating the bottom line on the subject, but if you do want to discuss this in a suave and civilized fashion (as opposed to arguing, as that never ends well on this forum), then I welcome you to check out the other, more recent topics on supplies that I made in the newspaper section.

Here's a deep answer: The forum would be loaded down with flaming and obscene topics if the mods became "less strict." The whole point of the current rules and moderation system is trying to keep this forum safe for young players whose parents trust this game and its forum to not parade immorality before their children.
