There are NO 1000 crustal boxes. A 100 box will drop at battle fund of 700, 1400, 2100, 2800, etc. And, yes, there are some maps that drop two of those boxes each time, but in different places.

Save your crystals for the tanks that you want to use long-term: Dictator, Hornet, Viking or Mammoth. What I did was to get M3 Wasp (which has same hp and speed as M0 Hornet), and save my crystals until I had enough to buy M2 Dictator. Then I having been using that (now as an M3) as my only tank I use.
