Ideas for Maps!

A map that's completely underground!

Maybe with the theme of an abandoned mine or cave system - dark and scary, with a creepy cave ambience played in the background.

It has a disorienting and labyrinth-like system of tunnels where you need to rely on some memorization to not get permanently lost, with secret rooms and tunnels perhaps, useful for shortcuts and ambushes. There's some larger open spaces for variation, which the smaller tunnels are going into at different heights along the walls.  Also, some acrophobia-inducing abysses, pitch-black and endless, provide unusual challenges and tension, where the pathways next to them, and the bridges running over them, are so thin and unevenly shaped that almost any explosion or tackle from a tank can cause you to fall off...

Massacre is fine. It's been in the MM pool for years and I don't see a problem with it. Stadium is a bit iffy, but it's not overwhelmingly common and it gives Shaft campers some time to shine. Parma isn't too problematic in my opinion.

But Lost Temple CTF and Berlin ASL are cancerous.

Imperial Garden

 

Medium sized map filled with ornamental planters, trees, flowers, bushes, and a raised platform in the center. A lot of space for fast chases but with some obstacles between team locations. Comparable to Platform.

I think I might take a stab at this soon.  One of the hardest things to do with subterranean maps are ceilings.  There few ceiling tiles, so you are limited to the look and feel of only a couple of possible styles.  For instance there are no rock ceiling tiles that I have found, thus caves become a problem.  You can use maybe an industrial ceiling tile, but then you need to create a hybrid tunnel look to it, as if man made, otherwise it just looks like someone took a hodge podge of tiles and made a crappy map, like when 6 years olds build lego houses out of any and every brick they can find with colors and styles everywhere.  Cute, impressive, but certainly not game quality material.

I've thought of doing one for a very long time, and I have some of the old mega cave props, but they look really bad comparatively now, the textures look awful.  That said, be on look out, I think my next map will be an enclosed environment, all tunnels and rooms, or at least 80% of it with an outer shell to spawn and have another route around the map.

Ziggurat

 

 

Large classic style middle eastern Ziggurat with inner chambers, passages, and surrounding multi-level navigable mountain landscape. With three levels and multiple paths to each, this maps is fast and aggressive. The numerous approaches and exits also provide all styles of game play an opportunity to contribute to the teams success. Ranged turrets especially will have a large impact on game play on this map.

Remove all maps from the pro-battles section

1.Add the maps that you will remove from the pro-battles section into containers.

2. Small maps can be put into the uncommon section of regular containers.

3.Medium maps can be put into the rare section of regular containers.

4.Large maps that don't get played much can be put into the epic section of regular containers.

5.Large maps that are played often can be put into the legendary section of regular containers.

6.Iconic and unique maps such as silence, sandbox, stadium, madness (hopefully the old version) and the re-mastered maps can be put into the exotic section of ultra-containers.

 

Only people who obtain these maps from the containers can create battles using these maps in the pro-battle section.

I have been playing TO from almost like 6-7 years I really love the game but i just felt like 2D grass in the maps did not fit to the recent updates. If you add 3D grass the game will look soo cool.

This comment made me dust of my good ol' monstrocity of a laptop from like 2015. 
80-150 fps in new maps lol. can't even hear fans working. Minecraft at 2 chunks consumes more recourses than entire tanki online.
