Reduce power of garage supplies

No. It's not cheating. Cheating is not defined by morality but by the rules implemented in the given environment. In this case, Tanki Rules doesn't make drugging illegal under any circumstances. Hence, what he did wasn't cheating, just immoral.

When actively choosing to win, be the first, come out on top, by using any immoral path at hand you are in fact embracing cheating as your method of play. It is well known, the advantages that are given to the heavy drugging team, therefore not only does this choice stand out as cheating, it is magnified by the attitude and words used by the drugged or drugging team. When you are on the receiving and losing end of this act it is absolutely viewed as cheating. I wish that the comment, "Tanki put them here so it's fine to use them" would stop being thrown about like legal tender. You can buy many items but it is still considered illegal to use them. YES, drugging, to the extent it is used here, is not only immoral, but actively cheating.

How's using a game mechanic classified as cheating? I still don't understand why people say that. This whole discussion is like watching people in WoT complain about players using APCR ammunition to get through armor.

If anything happens to the supplies, their cooldown times will just get nerfed again, I bet. As far as removal goes, I doubt that's gonna happen. I think people are just gonna have to get used to it and keep playing. Play PRO battle for all I care. But the constant complaints and stating of "facts" that drugging is "wrong" and "cheating" is just ridiculous.

I drug in battles. Why? Because it's part of the game and it's fun. Yep, it's fun, thrilling, and suspensful. Nothing wrong with spending your in-game currency for a LIMITED stat boost. Which leads to the next point- For all who speak in the name of "Balance", that argument is invalid; as Tanki has been "Rebalancing" this game for quite some time now. Twins doing deadly close damage, Thunder's splash being nerfed, Freeze effecting the turret more as opposed to the hull, Isida's range... THAT'S rebalance. And you want to talk about how a simple press of a button kills the game? Stop.

Want something that kills the game balance? Kits do. THAT'S the real issue that you guys need to tackle. You go off and you buy equipment that SHOULDN'T even be available to you for an "edge" in battles? You can't imagine how infuriating it is to see a COLONEL with M3 HORNET, THUNDER, and EMERALD. Or even worse, a MAJOR with that kind of setup. Are you kidding me? And that's just scratching the surface of this issue, I'm not going to go into this huge thing about it because I don't have the time for it.

Another issue that people don't talk about is XP/BP, whatever the heck you wanna call it. What, in the world, started that? I'm not gonna travel into the core of this issue either because I get tired of repeating myself. The combo's lame, plain and simple. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but it just doesn't match up with many things in the game. Maybe that's why it has it's own Format, I don't know/care, but it's terrible. People want to throw a blind eye at the weaknesses of XP, go right on ahead, I'll just keep killing you every time.

To close, I just want to say that there are "bigger fish to fry", and that supplies aren't so much of an "issue" as people have turned it into. There are other things that are actually wrong with this game, and they need to be fixed. Supplies have been tweaked, and it's nowhere near as bad as 3 years ago.

No offense to anyone here, just stating my opinion.

Moral sense is a sense that tells right from wrong.

Law is a human construct (a set of rules) that aims towards a just society in the liking of most people.

Why then in serious trials the jury is necessary? Isn't Law enough to tell right from wrong?

Apparently not.

There are conditions where rules don't produce justice.

It's the same with this issue.

Rules allow the use of supplies. But fiscal managment of Tanki allows too much power in the hands of top buyers, leading to extremely unjust conditions.

You have to have a developed nose to be able to smell the ... cheat.  :D

So, heavy drugging against an opponent who can't afford to drug back is a kind of wrong (it also ruins the game balance, but that's another story).

Superior modifications sold to premature ranks is also wrong. (Tanki doesn't give a sh_t but that doesn't make it less of a wrong).

It's not really too hard to think about it. Maybe for some small kids that's a hard mental homework, but grown ups should realise that easily.

No offense, just stating my opinion.

How's using a game mechanic classified as cheating? I still don't understand why people say that. This whole discussion is like watching people in WoT complain about players using APCR ammunition to get through armor.

As I noted part of the dictionary definition of "cheating" includes behavior or acts that are unfair.

If the score is very close and everyone is balanced then drugging isn't an unfair act.

But when the score is obviously a blow-out and someone continues to do it for the sole purpose of running up the score then that is where the "unfair" act comes to play.

Why continue to do it? It isn't for any sort of tactical or other advantage.

It's theft. Theft from the battle fund. By cheating this way the player who does such essentially is taking crystals from every player on the battlefield. Without cheating someone else would have been top on that team, or, perhaps the losing team might have stood a better chance of having a fair battle.

But the constant complaints and stating of "facts" that drugging is "wrong" and "cheating" is just ridiculous.

It's the context of when it is done, who does it, and the why that makes it "wrong."

Yep, it's fun, thrilling, and suspenseful....And you want to talk about how a simple press of a button kills the game? Stop.

How is it fun, thrilling, and suspenseful for the person who has 80 kills and fewer than 10 deaths? FCOL. Most of the people who do this don't even turn their tanks or turrets. They have no real skills and would probably be in dead last on every round without cheating. Without pressing those buttons they could not achieve the scores and ratios that they do. There's nothing "fun, thrilling, or suspensful" about a game that allows GOD_MODE_ON with the press of a button or two. Every single drugger on the battlefield is condescending arrogant bully.

"Good game?" The fact that a player bought the round by pressing 1-2-3-4 does not make it a "good game."

But it's not infuriating for someone to get that with the press of a button? Imagine someone with those kits who is also a drugger and it's even more outrageous and infuriating.

There are other things that are actually wrong with this game, and they need to be fixed

If the game is unbalanced and different turrets and hulls are unbalaced then the addition of garage supplies just makes it 100% worse.

It is easy to develop tactics to get around the various nature of turrets and hulls. Each time the developers makes changes to these I find a way to adapt.

It is impossible to adapt to someone who bought a kit and just drives around a map pressing 1-2-3-4 every 15 seconds.

Of course you are free and welcome to give your opinions! (as you are doing it fairly and politely!)

Yet I think drugs are a major problem in this game. Many and many players complain about them and many others already left. Stats say there are half players than some months ago and part of the reason is overdrugging.

We explained clearly how this works and why we complain about drugging and drugs overpower themselves.

I actually complained about kits too! I have been told "we are just experimenting" ... the most useless answer I have ever had ... even worse than the popcorn!! :)

But the issue is the same ... a great exaggerated power compared to rank range or to other players!

A kit is just like overdrugging!

And why all this? Just money, just devs greed to drain as much as possible to payer players!

B.

I'm not the one who gets to make the call. Tanki's Rule don't make supply usage cheating. So it's not cheating. Imagine if there was an in game button to increase your crystals for free. Using that won't be termed as cheating because it's allowed by the system.

Morality is also subjective and dependent upon given conditions. For instance, many years ago, owning a slave wasn't considered as immoral. It is, now.

Similarly, Using supplies is not at all cheating, and depending upon conditions, it might be immoral. It's not cheating because it doesn't give me unfair advantage. That is because everyone is allowed to use supplies.

As for immorality, the battle conditions being discussed here are such that using supplies to crush an already defeated team is definitely immoral. Yes, I've been in such situations; from both perspectives. TBH, I've hated the situation from both perspectives. From one side, it's hopeless effort to make a scratch, while from other side, it's just fighting your own teammates for the flag and spawn kill anyone in way. I really, really hate spawn killing. In fact, whenever my team becomes overpowered to extent that other team leaves expect bare few, and starts spawn killing, I try my best to keep my team from doing that and even apologise to opposite team for my team's behaviour. Unsurprisingly, most of the times, my team deems me as a 'mult' and 'saboteur'. But hey, morality, as I said, is subjective in nature.

Of course, there are times when other team starts reviving and supplies have to be used in order to ensure a win. At that time, I deem supply usage as moral.

At the end, it all boils down to the individual behind that screen and his definition of morality.

I was just observing a battle in Rio. Red had 10 players and blue had 3. 20 - 0, red on top. 5 minutes left and nearly every red was going around blue base and mining all the spawn points. Two Isidas were drugged up ensuring that all of the reds in blue base were kept topped up with health.

The total lack of ethics and morals astonished me and it's pretty hard at my age to surprise me. But that really takes the cake.

Funny thing was the battle fund was less than 1,000 crystals!!!

Case in point. I don't like it when my team does it either. It cheats me out of battle funds when someone just goes around  blowing everyone else up.

Because even the top player on my team drugs and cheats it also cheats me out of battle funds that might have been mine if the game play were more balanced.

So, it's pointless to play on the losing team and pointless to be on the winning team.

I am glad for you that you feel this natural despise for spawn killing. That's moral conscience at work. That's acknowledging that the opponents are players like you, not real enemies. Should we played in the natural world (say, football) we would all be friends. That's the best spirit for Tanki, I believe. And that's why drugging - which is by definition in this topic the constant use of supplies, 2 or 3 at a time - against opponents who can't drug back, is not sport, it's not fair and it's not nice at all. :)

(I DON'T WANT TO ADVERTISE SO PLEASE DON'T BAN ME)

I don't want to write the full name of this game (CS:GO) because that would be considered as advertising. If you think this is advertising you can just delete my post.

I play two games, Tanki Online and CS:GO (best games IMO)

In CS:GO there are skins which must be purchased with real money and CS:GO's community is obsessed with skins. That makes CS:GO not a "pay to win game" because skins are only there to make your gun look more beautiful.

Imagine if Tanki Online (instead of drugs) used skins as their source of money! It would be fair! And Tanki Online would be the best game ever!

This skin and stickers idea on the tanks was discussed very often, and the next game version based on unity is said to support such stuff.

i would also pay some money for a black paint that has protection again 2..3 turrets that I can choose.. whereby the protection is made visual by color-dots or stripes on the sides of my tank..

Another strange behavior I have noticed.

Just now was playing a 30 minute round of Serpuhov. Battle was close for some time - 2-2, 3-2, then 4-2.

Suddenly once red team capped flag #5 they all started drugging like crazy (the screenshot below was taken a second too late to show it).

dcfzuo.png

2i8u1jo.png

By the time the score was 11-4 most of red team was lit up like Christmas trees.

I don't really get that - it should have been obvious that my team basically had holes in its defenses like Swiss cheese and nobody was really making an attempt to try to get the red flag (usually in Serpuhov I am defending the right side of the map - but nobody was really defending the left or middle).

I still managed a good score despite not using many supplies as I usually don't need them (I tend to use mostly mines in this map to aid my defending - I can usually cover the entire right side of the map by myself - you can see from the screenshots that in the last 4:30 minutes I only used a single supply).

Nice battle in Rio, just a minute ago, no heavy druggers, we lost but sincerely it has been a nice battle.

Using my WO4 rank account.

Higher the rank, bigger is the problem.

I can have fun logging with my WO4 and WO1 accounts only, where the battles are pretty balanced.

Basically, this is bullying. Abuse. Very bad sports, to be exact no sports at all. Spawn killing CAN be prevented but Tanki doesn't seem to care... If they have or had any thoughts, we don't know.

Actually, here's another classic issue: the usual hammerkings combo M3+, pumping drugs on and on...

Final score 14-4, brawny points for us that we manage to capture 4 flags....

Someone up there at Tanki Administration seem to think this is a good game and players are happy... LOL.

Did the timer on repair kits change? I swear I see people activating them every 10 seconds now (being nowhere near a drop site or having picked one up). I have counted about 10 players doing this now.

Edit:

Repair Kit’s reload time is increased by 33% (from 30 to 40 seconds)

There's no way it's 40 seconds. 40 seconds is about the time it takes to go from flag to flag in Serpuhov and I have seen players hitting repair when taking the flag and hitting it again by the time they reach the ramp from red base to the middle of the map.

I had an opportunity to rank now and I needed about 120 points to make it over the top, so, I saw an opportunity to pick up a DA and SB in the left side of the pit of Serpuhov, infiltrated blue base, hit DD so I could take out a mammoth sitting on the blue flag. I then took the flag and tried to make it back to red base right up the middle. Along the way I got pounded fairly hard so I had to use a repair kit. Upon arriving back in red base someone was trying to take our flag so I took them out and returned our flag. The combined run was enough to rank.

30mpv7a.png

Normally this is something I would never do because of the lead we had and it was obvious that blue was pretty much out at this point but it was either do this or grind out another 13 tanks before the round ended.

It took me a month to reach another star and to think that I'm only halfway up the hill to gismo at this point. -_-

two things come into my mind:

- the cooldown times can be switched off for private battles (thats a setting during battle creation)

- _if_ the cooldown timer for drugs is only local in the client.. _then_ it can be cheated by 3rd party software (cheat engine, ...). This would be a pretty easy but powerfull cheat -.-
