If a team is bad, it is still a team of buyers having 10x stronger equipment than the rare free players, in MM battles. 

Again, f2players left years ago, way before Pro Battles, matchmaking, augments, etc. At the time WE were fighting the excessive use of supplies, calling them drugs. We lost the fight, the game sticked with buyers and kept verticalizing that trend. 

This is so true! I just came back this week after some years away from Tanki, maybe 5 years. But I already started played rarely before quitting years ago, because of the changes. It was already bad and on decline when I left, I remember they introduced the first flying tank (!!). Now I enter a battle and everybody is on drugs all the time, I don't even know how it's possible. I don't like to use supplies except the collected ones. On my main account I had upgraded to the max just two turrets and one is Isida, that is almost useless now because every time I heal a tank, it immediately uses the repair supply. They do it automatically and without any delay, they do not care I am healing them. Once there was a long cool-down so you could not drugs every 2 seconds, now it seems to me most players are constantly doped. Killing tanks is very difficult, they always heal and they always have a collection of extra protections active, constantly drugging without any pause. Usually this week I ended battles killing about 5 tanks, always less than 10, and dying usually more than 20 times, I began thinking I simply sucked and forgot how to play. Then I went to PRO battles and I lost a 20 minutes DM, me alone versus 2 players with better grade and tanks, for just 1 kill. Then I went to others PRO battles, and I saw people that without drugs did not know how to play.

Strategies: I really miss that. I recall that we had great matches years ago when people actively used the chat during game to coordinate. No one was OP for drugs or doped tanks or weird stuff, some buyers simply had better tanks (drugging started already to be annoying). We often changed turrets to better coordinate, Isida became really important when introduced, because people simply did not drug every time like it's now, so it was important to have at least one in the team. We had the same teams going on for two or more matches, with chats after each game (the typical list of "gg"). I remember staying in Rio CTF map for many turns with the same people because we had formed a great team. Now you cannot even choose the map (except PRO battles, obviously).

I simply abandoned Tanki because it became annoying, too much powers to buyers, too much pay-to-win, new absurd turrets that could kill you from a long distance without even seeing you, ridicule flying tanks and so on. I came back to check and the regular battles are not funny. In the PRO battles, nobody speaks English, and you don't make progress in them if I'm not wrong, so they do not count as the regular ones. I understand that buyers are the ones that make the game be profitable, but it seems to me the game has lost the majority of players (so fewer new players as well) so there could be a better solution to keep the game more balanced and successful.

The game has evolved to the point where it is almost useless to select a short range turret.

Even so called 'mid-range' turrets (which used to be riccochet, hammer, etc) have evolved to have long range effects.

Even so called 'mid-range' turrets (which used to be riccochet, hammer, etc) have evolved to have long range effects.

And my only two turrets are short range, one augment in total, and a Brutus drone ?

Very much enough in PRO battles, absolutely useless in MM.

Ive had the same feelings/experiences you share. I do think if you give enough time, you can adopt strategies to adapt to the new game. I can share some that Ive made.

1: Ive gone exclusively to playing wasp. Its squishy but it lets me run away from the 9999 gs players. When you see an elite player, dont take them on, avoid them.

2: Youve got Isida maxed? Leave maps that dont work well for you. I use shaft/wasp now so I love big maps with lots of terrain that let me move quickly without being in line of fire.

3: I probably have more but its late and Im tired. Point is, there are things you can do to succeed

Played a game earlier...Assault. Started out in one of those "Wow I'm playing well!" games. But then it turned into a massacre with my team repeatedly spawnkilling the opposing team. It feels good in the sense that I got a good score, but I can't imagine such games make players want to stick around. The current form of tanki does have a lot of good things going for it, but it seems devs still have not decided to take any steps to helping equalize games. I will share the final scorebox....tell me if you think players will stick around after a game like this.

What steps, if any, are being taken to keep one sided battles from happening? 

When there are good battles, I do think Tankidevs have done a great job at maintaining some balance in the game. With a few exceptions, I see a wide variety of turrets and hulls, which is hard to accomplish. The main problem, imo, is that many games involve spawn killing which is just so unfun. Its hard to play when you spawn in to face a fully drugged tank.

There are suggestions like increase losing teams' manual supply duration/potency (can't recall the exact details) and increasing the duration of spawn protection. But, to consider your team is losing, something like 30+ kill/points or 3+ capped flags difference could work. At the same time, that might encourage sabotages, multing, or intentional poor performance to abuse such mechanic.

I thought the complaint book was started a long time ago as well until I saw this:

The initial post says July 2022.

If there was another thread (which there probably was but tanki decided it occupied FAR too much server space and had it deleted), so I went with what I could prove versus what tanki erased. Either way we're both correct. Mucho complaintos.

Despite my previous post about one-sided battles, when there are good battles, the battles tend to be great. I may be wrong but it does feel like overdrives have been slowed down a bit, which really minimizes their impact on the game, which I really like. Turret and hull balance seems solid too. Sometimes I see players who just don't die, and that sucks, but many games don't involve those folks.

This game has actually--if it's possible--has become EVEN more tragic.

Now... I'm getting one-shotted by rails when they aren't even aiming IN MY DIRECTION, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh man, I can't even make this silliness up.

Through the corners of buildings and walls, also. Why do we even HAVE buildings, I wonder.

Like at least TRY to make it LOOK like you aren't faking the matches, please.

 

But you know what's important?

Dust.

Very, very important.

Thank goodness the dust is there.

 

 

...and really... are you faking the outcomes of battles now...?

I actually monitor the gear scores in every single battle now.

When tanki does that 'thing' where it adds an 8k or a 7k GS, I type in the chat (for all to see) that tanki has added a abnormally high GS tank to the other team and I state that I recommend that all of my team leave as a result.

In fact, I have started to state prior to any battle actually begins that: "I can't wait until tanki adds a 6k GS tank to team red".

And then... they do.

Almost like clockwork.

As if the developers have made it that way.

2024, I spend 12 minutes of my life to play. After 12 minutes I get the server error. Ok I know it. But after so many years... It's  just desgusting. Uselees to ask for just a litlle answer or explation. Tanki online don't know waht is the problem... For sure.

The quality of the players of tanki is now very low.

Some people play like they don't have a screen.
Some people play like they don't have a space bar.
Some people are just driving around.

Some log in just to chat and it's quite often the case you can find 3 or 4 people all hanging around in the corner of a large map just multing and talking.

The people who used to play have mainly left, so many clans are gone, team work is over.

There are too many people "playing", who don't know how to play the game.  They have no idea about power ups and the shift button.  Hell some people don't even rotate their turrets but move the whole tank!

I would make it the case that every week you have to complete a tutorial in order to start playing with real people.  Because the people currently playing can barely be described as human beings.

I was told that it is the player's fault (LOL) because of a low Internet band. "They say", the shot is happening before we see it, so it is not crossing a wall, but while our tank still had to arrive undercover, we just see it later. Fact is that I have 100 Mbps and it only happens to some turrets. Rail can shoot somewhere close by and it will always hit. A Twins with self damage removed, will often miss easy targets.

100%. A logical consequence of this game "development". Tanki kept increasing the Pay-to-Participate portion. "Older, wiser and better" players left long ago, as they did not plan to "waste" money on games. Player base got younger and younger. They buy everything right away and they find themselves with 9999 gear in no time. Therefore they use brute force, as there is no need and no time to learn skills. When they visit Pro Battles, with their "toys" removed, they can be seen in all their... incapability.

A player killed team mates (in a friendly fire battle) hundred times. Voted him for 10 minutes. None arrived as usual. But it is important to ban players getting angry. What a joke of a game.

Heyo, just wanted to clarify that posts never get deleted or hidden unless:

1. the account owner requests their removal (especially when the owner wants to delete their forum account completely);

2. they break the forum rules.

Even then, I'm 98.86% sure that no post gets truly deleted. Posts almost always get edited or hidden by the forum moderation team. For legal reasons I'd like to declare that I am not completely sure cuz I was never a forum mod. ?

 

So yes, complaints have been coming in since the very beginning, but from what I could dig up, the Complaint Book thread started in 2015: 

 

Go through the "More Info" link here: 

 

A lot of stuff that you (might) think got deleted is most probably lost somewhere in the Archive... unless it broke some rule, or if the account owner asked the admins to delete their forum account.

There's very little point chatting in games.

Team work is over and has been ever since the floaters were introduced. 

 

Make it so that people have to pass a tutorial to play with real people, every week.  See how many people are actually playing tanki after that point.

"Chatting" could actually be one of the best features of the game. Not in MM of course, as battles are short and between unknown players. But in Pro Battles it would be great to strategize: "Bill control the right side", "John can you stay in defense?", "Let's attack in 4 from the left, 1 isida". But with only 10% of players understanding English, and only 10% of players able to play the game...

Chatting gets an auto-ban for 1 hour for flooding.  As I said before and will say again, team work is over.  That is why the clans have gone, they played as a team, it doesn't work in this game for people to co-operate anymore.

So yes, complaints have been coming in since the very beginning, but from what I could dig up, the Complaint Book thread started in 2015: 

I had completely forgot about the time when it was difficult to load the "Game Discussion" section of the forum because the top topics had over 30k replies each. And when they archived the old topics and made new threads for them, the loading times were a "Day and night" difference.

the head-on meta of using melee/short range turrets with defender/lifeguard/blaster on every map is cancer. the only thing keeping it in check is miner.
