Hello, tankers!

We've got our eyes on the new stage of Tanki's evolution. Some time ago, we told you that the game will get a new look.

 

Well, today, it’s time to update the look of one more item! Please welcome Smoky HD!

 

The upgraded skin Smoky HD will not only give to your tank an innovative design but also add magnificent special effects to your turret: barrel rollback, after shot smoke, a flying projectile, a new shot effect, and the release of casings. All this looks very spectacular alongside the Viking's Overdrive or the “Autocannon” augment for Smoky, which greatly increases the firing rate.

 

If you're wondering how to get the new skin, well, we have good news. You don’t need to buy Smoky HD. Actually, you won't need to do anything to get it. On January 29th, we will simply replace the current default Smoky’s skin with the new HD one. Default skins were needing an update for a long time and that's why we decided to make HD skins. 

 

New augments

 

The remastered skin is cool, but we also paid attention to how the turret works and have brought a surprise new release. In addition to remastering Smoky skin, it will also get projectiles like Gauss, Thunder and Vulcan have and we are also changing some of its augments and adding a few new ones. Let's take a look at our hot new additions:

 

  • «Paralyzing Rounds» — critical hits will deal decreased damage but will immobilize the target.

  • «EMP Rounds» — critical hits will deal decreased damage but will disable the target's activated supplies.

  • «Rubberized Rounds» — adding ricocheting shells that may hit enemies and even deal critical damage after ricocheting. However, the maximum number of ricochets is limited and shell speed is decreased.

  • «Explosive Rounds» — such rounds can hit multiple targets at once with splash damage, but the damage radius is not that large due to the turret's small caliber. Cumulative shots are not changed and deal critical damage only to one target.

  • «Sorted Ammunition» —  guarantees that every fourth shot will deal critical damage.

 

For now, these new augments can only be obtained from Ultra Containers, so that’s why the upcoming Ultra Weekend will be most welcome.

I dislike these two augments. They will just make the battles one sided and boring.

If I ever see someone using "EMP Rounds," you best believe I will target that person using Electromagnetic Salvo until they rage quit and leave the game

I think you devs have lost your mind.

Paralyzing will be more like stunning, whereas cryo will apply the freezing status effect. They have to be different.

Wondering how the hell you're adding HD skins for free seeing your business strategies. Than I saw new augments coming in Ultra Containers lol. So I realized that people don't care more about skins but for augments.

So why are there 14 turrets in the game if one can do half the effects of all remaining turrets?!! let's count together.

1- Incendiary to Heat opponents

2- Cyro to Freeze.

3- EMP of Gauss

4- Ricochet effect.

5- Explosive like thunder.

Stop ruining this game more than you have already done!!!

«Cryo rounds», this can be countractanted with Hull augments (Cold immunity and Cold resistance) - otherwise it takes 4s to defrost. Icon Freeze.png status effect.

«Paralyzing Rounds» is most likely to be the stun mechanics (hunter and hopper overdrive) so you will need the Stun Immunity to counteract it - otherwise you will get paralyzed for 3 seconds and... to be confirmed... player drops flag or ball and lose ability to activate own overdrive. Icon Stun.png status effect.

=> So totally different effect and results!

wow - «Cryo rounds» Icon Freeze.png, «Incendiary rounds» Icon Heat.png, «Paralyzing/Stun Rounds» Icon Stun.png (To be confirmed), «Armor-Piercing Rounds» 30px-AP_Status.png, «EMP Rounds» Icon EMP.png and «Explosive Rounds» - Smoky becomes the first turret that can give the 5 negative status effect and splash damage. It is the turret with a unique % critical effect that can allow that.

I am curious about «Rubberized Rounds»... could be fun really. Even a special Wasp/Smoky Rubberized round game mode in Parma Map :D

Yeahy! More premium alterations! Just what everyone wanted?  I myself was asking for more hard to obtain equipment. I even asked for paying a fee every time you login because that's what this game is all about now ?   

No wonder this game is dying.... in order to be competitive you need to pour sums of money in it. And why not create a new currency? Another thing that this game was craving for, because everyone knows that having only two currencies ain't enough. What's next? ... hhhh, i have an idea, this is so original- let's introduce a container that gives you stuff when you open it, but different from the other ones, with layers or rarity that separate what you can get, and you can buy them in the shop at 95% sale costing only 299$, an consider yourself lucky that they are at 95% sale cause if they weren't, you would have to sell a kidney to be able to afford this crap ?   Let's call them super-ultra containers. Take notes developers, this is a brilliant idea.

A simple question: this means that it completely stuns the enemy, or it can still use its turret?

Well on the test server I tested it a bit, doesn't seem as powerful as others think, the flag does NOT drop same goes for the rugby ball, I assume ASL flag is no different, looks like they changed the stun mechanic a bit and turned it to a augment. Even if the flag did drop, there's no way to return it from a viking unless u had hopper or just did some quick parkour with hornet to get on top of the enemy.

Yeah, current one looks a bit... unsmoky? Anyway I haven’t tried it out yet and should see if the new bullet travel speed sounds good (don’t think so tho)

Will see how it goes, but I never wanted a Smoky meta

my post about that in the game balance thread

Sorted Ammunition will have people camping behind walls and shooting the wall and counting shots so that every hit will be a critical one, urgh

I've tried it in the Test Server and it's much faster than Thunder's bullet.
