New turret — Scorpion!

Just another OP gimmick for the brainwashed buyers. 

MM does not work. You still get kicked from battle for no reason. The garage IS STILL NOT user friendly, np, lets bring out a new turret and everything will be ok.

OK, so new turret. that will be 16 weapons... but only able to protect against 4 max module slots. Lets call it what it is... Tanki has become entirely stupid. This game has become more about getting blown up more than it is about fun, or enjoyment. I would expect then, logically: GET RID OF MAGNUM. Out of fairness - allow players to sell Magnum and its protection module back for a credit of at least 90% crystals what its current level is worth. Why bring out a new turret that does what Magnum does, but 10 times better??

 

The game is so convoluted with imablance now its ridiculous. All these turret augments just make the game a joke. Why do we need augments? Why cant the turrets simply just DO what they are designed to do AS A WEAPON? All these extra augments just make the game a mess and also not fun anymore. No, it isnt enough to have say railgun on its own with a devastating powerful shot, no... let's add armour piercing and make it so one of those shots then leaves you wide open for a 1 shot kill from anyone at any rank.

 

Also then you have to mess aound trying to coordinate what hull augment to use... and then if you happen to select your adjusted hull, turret, module and augment choices in battle, and the other team then adjust to your loadout, you are screwed for the rest of the battle!! how is that enjoyment?? It isnt! it is annoying, frustrating, and imbalanced.

Why not get rid of all augments and allow turrets to simply do what they are supposed to do, and just have protection modules doing what they are supposed to be doing. I think the drones are enough for boosts etc. Maybe add an augment to a drone instead? so when you equip a drone, the augment is fixed on that drone. or something to that effect.

Stop being greedy developers! We all know that all these augments and extras and gimmicks are to make money, you are killing this game slowly. Make it more enjoyable, not more frustrating. And stop raising the price of digital goods! It used to be affordable, now you want more than a standard week's rent for 20,000 tankoins!! It is pure greed.

Many of us tankers feel this way, so why not change and be better people and make the game a much better simpler game? Thank you.

When i mean hide i dont mean that one Saboteur hiding for the entire match in a corner where nobody can reach him. By hiding i mean tactical hiding for example when gauss is targeting you do you just drive looking at how nice the weather is? or try and hide so he loses his lock? These words are coming from buyer who has almost everything btw, so F2P yeah... RIP

Wow, I did not expect a new turret to be released at this time. I like this Scorpion turret very much, especially its dual firing mode. The rockets are like Strikers rockets but the only difference is that they shoot in the air like Magnum's shots which is really nice to have as a turret. Nice work devs on making this turret possible.

Ability to target behind an obstacle is fine if that is limited to only 100% stationary targets. Any movement in this scenario should break the aim and counter this by breaking the lock completely. Imo this should be just a gimmick to kill players that just camp and stay pretty much still entire game.

 

Other functions are okay probably. Arcade shots seem strong, but hopefully it doesn't deal more DPS than smoky because it already deals more dmg per shot. If the target is exposed than locking the target should function similar to striker.

Could you please release hovering juggernaut ASAP? I am waiting for 2 years now, dont tell me it is that hard to release it ... it wont just make you money, but it will make gameplay better.

Hovering juggernaut will come later hopefully.

The Scorpion turret does not have any skins. HD and XT versions of skins are needed for Scorpion. This turret also needs shot color effects and lots of augments for it. Please consider on adding all the missing accessories that the Scorpion turret is going to need.

HD is not needed, the original turret skin was developed already in the "HD style", there is no need to remake it.

I did not know that Scorpion had an HD skin. There is no mention of an HD skin on the first page of this thread. However, an XT version of a skin for this Scorpion turret will need to be made.

 

I also forgot to say that this Scorpion turret is going to need a protection module for other players to protect themselves from other players using this turret. I also like the fact that the rockets are powerful enough to destroy a tank in a single blast. Can Scorpion be capable enough to destroy a juggernaut with its rockets?

It is just my assumption, the skin itself looks quite detailed and on par with other HD skins. Also it wouldn't make much sense to create a brand new item in the old "non HD style" just to need to remake it shortly after.

I did not know that an XT skin would be useless for Scorpion. That is rather strange because all turrets are supposed to have an XT skin as well.

Hmm, maybe you misunderstood me, I was trying to say that the default skin is already HD.

An XT skin would surely be an awesome option to have ? .

it looks like just another substitute thunder, plus a new augment for striker. but no, its another gimmick turret that shouldn't exist like tesla.

What a great time to stop playing the game for months so I can wait for my newly aquired armadillo module to fully upgrade. I finally got on one from farming special missions ultra containers so now the game wont be so unbearable to play.  I cant wait to be able to block out railgun kids once again.

I like the total polar opposites on opinions in this thread. Half of the people are claiming it will be stupidly OP and way too easy to use, and the other half are saying that they tried it in AR and couldn't hit anyone with the rocket salvo ?

So its a worse version of thunder (no splash + longer reload) with a special second firing mode that fires 10 rockets out of the map.

I think on certain maps like Highways and Dusseldorf it will be OP. In siege mode I expect it to be ridiculously good.

Otherwise, indeed, it won’t be that great.

That's the issue I see with this weapon, it will be very hard to balance it out, because it will be either extremely overpowered or useless depending on the situation.

Let's wait and see though ...

We are worried because most of the new pieces of equipment have been busted at launch, sometimes they have been broken up to an year, until some nerfs hit them.

 

OP/Broken (at launch): Magnum, Gauss, Tesla, Hopper, Paladin 

Balanced (at launch): Ares, Crusader

 

The fact that no one was able to hit the rocket salvo with Scorpion does not mean a thing, it can always be tweaked by the Devs when they see that it is close to useless.

I am afraid that the new Turret will follow this pattern:

 

Release Broken only in UTs for some months with no protection available, then it will have OP Augments is special offers/UTs, and then it will be purchasable in Garage with its Protection Module... and only after a year or so it will be nerfed to an acceptable state. 

 

I might sound pessimistic, but by following a pattern like the one I mentioned above, the Devs could generate a large volume of income... releasing a new Turret as balanced or weak makes zero sense from a business standpoint, and anyone who believes that this could be an acceptable outcome is nothing sort of gullible.
