Is Maestro Mk5 a good kit to invest in? I have ~125k crystals, and am wondering what i should be saving towards.

So imo it’s still the best for capping flags : D  You can use it if you like it and are skilled with it.

It has gone down in the legend ranks recently due to there being much stronger turrets. Thunder isn't bad though. Especially with sledgehammer.

If you are really looking for a short range gun, you should pick what you have fun with. That being said, imo hcac hammer and berserk ricochet is the best.

Just back to Tanki after a 4 year hiatus. The balance and many other things have changed, I need your insight. Have Mk7 fire, freeze, hammer, twins, rail, hornet, viking, titan. Majority about 5/20 MU, no augments or drones, and protection modules are fairly limited. I prefer CTF and CP, and find it difficult to be competitive in MM. PRO is another story, where lack of augments, supplies, drones doesn't hurt me. My question: if the top of the leader board in MM is my goal, do I focus on MU to a single combo, augments, drone, protections? Personal experiences very welcome.

Hello. This is the order in which I would do stuff

1)Learn hull overdrives. I think it is the easiest way to boost performance significantly.(At your ranks, you may find hornet has the best but it might get nerfed soon)

2)Build up supplies. Get supplies from missions and containers. Compared to 4 years ago, now everybody drugs a lot more because they are more easily available.

3)Upgrade hull and turret first. IMO you should do a single combo but others might disagree. You need around 800000 crystals to fully upgrade a combo at full price. So it is advisable to do later upgrades during the sales.

Find out if your turret of choice has an OP augment. Depending on that you might decide on prioritising the augment over the upgrades. (For example railgun and firebird have very powerful augments. It might be better to buy one of them first). Most good augments cost 245000. So buy only in a 50% sale.

4)Modules: You already seem to have a few. Try to get atleast 3 to mk7 during a 50% off sale.

5)Drones are the last priority. Since they are expensive to upgrade(1million crystals), consume extra supplies and need batteries. Most drones need to be upgraded to get good effects. 

 

This is my opinion. Maybe some more experienced guys can correct or addon.

@coconuttree Thank you for the thoughtful response. There is definitely a learning curve with augments and overdrive. I think another contributor to my struggles has been lack of small maps I seem to find in MM, makes my love for using melee weapons a disadvantage in some cases.

No, because speed boost is the supply which I always have way too many of. It would be super unnecessary to buy speed boosts because you will just get a ton of them in containers and end up with thousands extra compared to DD, DA, and RK.

I don't use drones for this reason, it's way too inefficient in the long run. I wish the devs would remove them because only the people who can pay for the game can use them coupled with the rest of their m4 equipment. Were those the last 600 you had?

I would choose Incendiary Mix over it, because If there are so many heat immunity or fire protection modules  in the game, it will be a good alternative to stock. Otherwise, you can go with stock again for its afterburn effect.

I'm probably too late, but if you only want the module I'd suggest you to wait for the Chirstmas Sales, or Halloween sales if you desperately need the module. It will cost you 381K to upgrade your Lion-protection to Mk7, which is almost equal to the price of a product kit. Ricochet is an interesting weapon and I use(d) it most of the time, I would recommend it to you if you are thinking of buying a Ricochet-kit

I'm not asking if there's a better alternative to Firebird Adrenaline, because I already have every other Firebird augment.

What I am asking is if Firebird Adrenaline is good, regardless of anything being better.

If there isn't something you need to buy, then wait and save your crystals. Never waste your crystals only because you can allow yourself to buy something. 

Looking at your garage, your arsenal solely consists of Mk5s, for a Marshall that is somewhat bad - no offense, but it is the truth - if I were you, I would save for an Mk7 turret/hull, or even better a good product-kit. Since you often use Railgun and Hornet I'd suggest Legend-kit, but it's totally up to you what kit you are interested in.

Yes, kits are available for crystals as well as tankoins. However, your chances to get a crystals kit in the shop are much lower.
