Venerable just stated some points. If you can't or don't want to accept it (you don't have to), that is your problem.

Just leave those so-called helpers alone. These guys seem to fail to realize the differences between

1. "not allowed" to post criticizing comments, vs
2. "strongly discourage" posting criticizing comments, vs
3. not allowed to express your opinion, no matter positive or negative about the game publicly

and their agenda and message behind them respectively.

 

And to @Venerable, no, the "not allowed to write criticizing comments" thing was never public, nor is presented with such intent, or else such important info would have been clearly stated in the application form, e.g. Recruitment - Recruitment Tanki Online. And since you are one of the helpers who have gone through all these, you should have already known that.

Well, seems by design to me. The entire point of the +1 - 3 and -5 step thing is to give players an illusion that they can make it with the resources they have.

And in case anyone missed that, the Devs never mentioned the appearance of the -5 steps thing is random. It just says it "may" happen. And the hidden message? Well, you will get that.

It doesn't need to be explicitly stated. By "always been public", I meant that the impression that Helpers are "forced to promote the management's decisions" has been publicly discussed in the past and shown to be unfounded. Saying positive things about the game has never been a requirement for becoming a Helper. In fact, the Game Rules (which apply to everyone including Helpers) state this:

If this rule gets enforced more strictly, it would be considered "censorship" by most. But it's still a perfectly logical rule because it doesn't stop anyone — even Helpers — from posting constructive criticism.

I cannot wake up one day and say, "terrible update, bring back old Tanki, the current version sucks". I can, however, say, "I disagree with the reasoning behind this update, here's why, and here's an alternative." I need to be careful with my words, naturally, because I become a representative (of sorts) of the game when I join a Helper group. Blatant criticism does no good.

I really do not know from where people got this notion that Helpers are paid to keep quiet. They're not. They receive a compensation for the work they do, voluntarily , knowing full well what the position entails. Plus, the requirements of all Helper positions mention politeness and "no bans", which pretty much include the criticism part. If the need for criticism crosses a threshold, then it becomes obvious that your interests do not align with those of the game, and hence there's no point in remaining a volunteer for the game.

Well, to be honest, I don't think the CM worded it very well.

Pretty sure simply criticizing isn't an issue for the helpers. It depends on how they go about doing it.

At the risk of being yeeted out of this topic, here goes... 

If you wish to be pedantic about my choice of words, I'd like to clarify that the word "voluntarily" means "of one's own free will".

If tomorrow they discontinue the system of giving benefits to Helpers, I won't suddenly stop volunteering my time and energy for the game. In my opinion, the benefits:

a) are a way to maintain accountability;

b) are a token of appreciation;

c) ensure quality of work and timeliness, because this is an online gaming community (it won't be necessary for real-life volunteering).

I am still a volunteer.

 

Regarding "freedom of expression" and "restrictions"... well, as oxymoronic as it may seem, freedom of expression has never implied absolute freedom. There's always a catch — or  consequences, rather.

Can you use profanity in the lobby chat? Sure! But you will most probably end up with a warning/ban.

Can Helpers criticize the very game they work for? Sure! But depending on how that criticism is delivered, there may be consequences.

EDIT: I almost forgot. Thanks for introducing the concept of "dialectic" to me! And thanks for engaging in a conversation even though I have spent barely 2 hours reading up about it. I'll read more when I get time.

1. Your (conscious) lexical abuse of a random entry in a dictionary?
2. Your anecdotal evidence, that even as that entirely misses the ball?
3. Your definition of free speech, which implies that Copernicus had this privilege, he just had to bare the consequences of pointing to the sun?

I dislike many things, but most of all I dislike intellectual dishonesty and bad faith arguments. It makes me grumpy, which my writing on this forum reflects because that is really all I have seen. I don't think reading dialectics will help you with this. It is a question about character.

For @Macabre, you are right off course. I could argue that I entered the conversation out of curiosity. But then I look back on my my first post on this board, which I ended with "I think I will crawl back under my rock now". As in Aesop, I knew I was taking a snake into my house.

32 steps, only one -5 for me.

For the rest daily mission, max 10 extra steps for me, wont reaching island 4 which need 17 steps, which i may need to buy 4m crystal for 7 extra steps, but i dont thin waps skin and blaster for wasp worth it, (even i have 18.5M crystal, and based on calculation, i may need 24M crystal to buy into island 5 for shred vulcan and lifeguard, too much)

This same issue(stepping back twice in the same lap)happened to me as well in lap 3.

So i have reproted to Tanki Online via e-mail immediately despite response has not received yet.

That's not an issue. There is more than one trap node in a lap. You triggered two of them.

Let me give you an example. Lets say that between Main Island 1 and main Island 2 you need to jump 17 Islands. Lets say that there are 2 Islands of Fortune that can send you back -5 positions located on 10th and 15th island. You step on the 10th island and are sent back -5. Now you are again on the 5th island. Now when you progress again on the 10th island where the Island of Misfortune is located, it will not activate again, however the one on the 15th is still active and remains active untill you either step on it and activate the -5 roll or untill you reach next checkpoint being the main Island. Now this is just example of the mechanic. Further you get, the more Islands of Fortune are located on the route and bigger the chance that you will be sent back.

So what you guys thinks, i most use medium hulls and hopper, rarely use wasp, and based on tanki history,

All hull modules may go to container rewards after they milk all the money. I can save crystal for future mini game

Depends, Wasp Demonic looks hella good, but there aren't many possibilities to use it these days. Played Wasp with Driver today and it did good, but it definitely needs some skill to get around all the campers and high DPS augments and turrets, so light hulls definitely have it extremely difficult. Seen Blaster being used by some YouTubers and it also looked pretty fun tbh. However, unless you play some XP/BP and it isnt really your hull, it might just sit in your garage. If you dont roll -5 in those 5 or so next free steps, you still might think about it.
