Tbh most of the time, all it takes is a rocket spammer to be above a certain level from you to get quite busted aoe damage as it stands, which most maps have a casual point for this, hence many players dominating with ease, it has the most flexibility out of anything in the game if we ignore our ricocheting ability of ricochet and magnums projectile motion. Unlike vag thunder or mag, where u actually need a physical hit to detonate, vac follows rre, manual detonation makes it so cheesy and often times free.

 

Saw someone complain about needing to 3 shot a defender and 50 prot player, I could only dream of that in my case for items I use in that same timeframe against the similar setup. Hell, think they forgot that they also deal this damage in an aoe which often means multikills, ofcourse does not require line of sight, another thing I can only dream of as a single target, line of sight main, (let me cope and wait for vac shaft so i can snipe the floor and deal big damaqe)

 

Vac striker has a skill barrier but it hardly means much with how freely you can use it behind covers against someone behind a cover that can barely get to you. I'd say the thunder vac players that have the ability and are able to hit the ground next to you instead have a higher skill level, especially with the nerfs they eventually came through with.

tandem get's annoying if you give them too much line of sight, not much of an issue in maps you can hide in, but for the latter, even spots you can hide behind could keep you vulnerable. I don't see how adjusting vac would even make it inferior to other striker augs, seeing as they will ensure it's an upgrade to RRE. The initial start would be as congo said, make it deal less than 3K damage, 2900 would be a start and the interactions would become a bit more balanced. Just a bit more. We may see the 2k score players drop down to near 1.6k maybe? who knows

still waiting for the 0,4s snipe for max damage aug :((
pretty sure there was a splash damage aug for shaft in the test server couple months ago. something like that. so vacuum shaft could be a possibility and i'd imagine it would have one of the highest skill barriers in the game easily while people will just say that its braindead

Isnt that what most of the people want? i see at least 1 person per map with that augment and sometimes even up to 5 people with it. Everytime tanki adds or changes a twins augment it becomes op like when EMP Twins was added same for Pulsar and now with the change of the twins turbo. Unlike Striker vacuum which i see a lot of people complain about because of its high damage but more skill to use, turbo twins requires zero skill to use at all. Im not defending striker vacuum at all i think both augments should be nerfed soon.

I think they'll probably wash it down, it'll be a legendary version of light caps maybe where 0.4s does like 2450 damage or the sorts and it's capped at that with like an 8.67s reload max depending on scope duration, but yeah i'm waitin for this. It will be horrid and fun to use.

 

Still waiting on stun, incendiary and cryo sights, need that collection, pulsar is likely so bad that it'll just be collection too.

A 5% nerf isn’t necessarily as insignificant as some believe. Often just the fact that something was nerfed is enough to shift players focus away from it. We'll have to wait and see how it plays out.
