Railgun is the only turret in the game that has only one viable augment, and they still nerf it because people complain. On the other hand, you have turrets with three of four really strong augments and tanki team does nothing. Without Excalibur, railgun in dead. If you need to nerf it, then buff other augmments.

I think it's not really about how many strong arguments a turret has, but how strong an arguments really is. Excalibur is disproportionately powerful compared to both Railgun's and other turrets arguments, hence it's deserving of a nerf.

Imo a turret having just one overtuned augment creates a bigger problem because it forces every player into the same build.

That might be true, but that does not mean it should be left as it is, it very clearly is a cancerous augment. The problem is with how balancing is handled when some augments get way too overbuffed for months while others get super overnerfed after a while or just not being touched and buffed for years on end. Railgun has also always been a victim of its fame and how badly protection modules are distributed in battles. Falcon is almost always one of the most used protection modules in battle  ranging from at least 6 to 9 people having it, despite the fact that Railgun has historically (not always) been  rather mid turret among many other crap turrets with busted augments that have been  introduced to MM. Take for example Smoky on the other hand, that Excelsior crap has been unlocked by, what feels like half a player base, it is almost always mounted on Crusader and also heavily outperforms other augments taking Top 1-3 spot in every battle, yet you will usually hardly see more than 1 or 2 protection modules against it in battle.

Actually played Destab the other day and it still is possible to perform well with, got multiple Top 3 places in a row. I would pressume Camper and Hyperspeed still can perform very well, although I will agree that they are more situational  compared to what Excalibur offers at all times.

hyperspace, hyperpseed, large caliber , round destabilization and possibly camper are all strong and good augments, if you think those augments are weak or need buff then you should probably switch to other turret, railgun is overall strong and good turret the main problem is how common protection against it are used in battle, but that just shows how good it is, thats the price for camping

Translation: please don't nerf the augment I'm currently using.

Or maybe buff the other augments ? I miss those Death herald and large caliber days, when people used to explore on rail and not just stick to Excalibur's every 2 shot guaranteed kill play style for long range camping or general playing.
