l think l was at Ieast 7 minutes in that battIe.

the battle finished earlier than its time, base amount of stars = 1 (like you did).

the one who got 2 stars, got 1+1 stars (1 star bonus for joining as "quick match", and 1 star from base amount for short match). then one who got 4 stars, had premium (2x bonus for stars) and joined using "quick match" (so, he got (1+1)*2 = 4 stars. 1 star as base amount, 1 star for quick join bonus, and sub-total 2 stars multiplied by 2 because of premium bonus). you joined specific mode, so you didnt get the +1 bonus both of those got. 

 

if the battle had lasted a little longer, base stars would have been 2 (you would have gotten 2 stars, and other two would have gotten 2+1=3 stars and (2+1)*2=6 stars).

 

and if the battle had lasted almost to the end, base stars would have been 3 (you would have gotten 3 stars, and other two would have gotten 3+1=4 stars and (3+1)*2=8 stars).

ls it based on the time of the battIe or the time one is in that battIe?

My teamates had accumuIated a Iot kiIIs, so l don´t think it was short enough to warrant 1 Base Star. l mean, l understand how it works now, but l think 2 Base Stars shouId have a larger timeframe.

l heIped the one sided battIe end sooner instead of joining the spawn kiIIing, and l feeI Iike l was punished for that.

its based on time left in battle (and not how much time you have been in battle). i think you get 2 base stars at around less than 6 mins left (i dont know exact value), and 3 base stars if battle lasts atleast 11 mins (and only top 3 gets 3 base stars, rest still get only 2 base stars). also, in addition to the time of battle, the stars also depend upon your score, those with score below 100 get 0 stars.

 

so, if you join battle thats already near end in time, but your score is less than 100, you get 0 stars (not even quick match bonus). if your score is above 100, you get 2 (+1 if joined using quick match) base stars (because battle lasted long enough), and 3 base stars (+1 if Quick match option) if you manage to get top 3 in your team (thats hard to do when little time is left and your team players have score lead over you).
