  1. I personally find simply playing Tanki to be enjoyable. I do not need goals or aims of any kind to make it entertaining. In every online game, you will eventually reach the stage where you can get no further. If Tanki implement more guns and tanks, all it will do is extend your time of enjoyment by, at maximum, two months? And then you will be bored again, with no goals to reach. If playing Tanki for the goals is the only reason why you play Tanki, then you are sure to be disappointed in the end. Also, what's to say that a new gun will not ruin the gameplay of Tanki for other people, as Shaft has done to some? I see your point, but the fact is that if we only play a game for the goals and achievements, we will be disappointed in the end when we have unlocked every achievement. Even more unlockables, more upgrades, more weapons, and more tanks will do nothing but prolong the time period before you are disappointed.

Is Shaft m3 worth 21600 crystals?

Depends what you mean by "worth it". If you are asking whether Shaft M3 will pay you back 21,600 crystals which M2 Shaft wouldn't give you.... I think that it'd take you a long time for that to happen. But at the same time, nothing in tanki is worth it. If we all bothered about what was worth it, everyone would be using M3 Twins and M0 Viking until they got to Marshal. You have to buy things that aren't "worth it" in tanki to get yourself up to a reasonable level. Shaft M3 is not worth it in the way that it will pay you back 21,600 crystals that Shaft M2 would not give you. But Shaft M3 is worth it in the way that it's a heck of a lot better than Shaft M2 and will give you far more enjoyment and respect than M2 would.

You can still talk by skype. Tanki couldn't do anything to stop that.
  6. The Tactical Fighters (TTF) have been a common face in the English and German clans community for a long time. They were just the second German clan to be formed, and have been a stalwart clan in the English community as well, most notably being the only clan to have beaten Shadow Strikers in the unofficial clan tournament. What has given them these successes? ------- Skitee: Hi Scholzi96: Hi Skitee: Thank you for agreeing to having this interview today. What is your name, and what clan are you leader of? Scholzi96: My real name is private but my real nickname is "Scholle" - everyone calls me that so that is enough. I am the Leader of The Tactical Fighters (TTF). Skitee: And your tanki callsign is? Scholzi96: scholzi96 Skitee: Ok. And are you the only leader of TTF or are there other leaders? Scholzi96: My friend juli96 is Leader, too. Moreover we have 3 Co Leaders. Skitee: Alright. So about your clan, when did you start? What was the date you created your clan, and what caused you to create your own clan? Scholzi96: Oficial I created it on the 23/12/2011 but we talkes about 1 month about it and planed things. The main reason I created the Clan was that just one German Clan existed and me and my friends where enough to create and own so we did. Skitee: So why did you create your own clan rather than joining the existing German clan, BoG? What is different about your clan to BoG? Scholzi96: Before creating my own Clan I was Member of BoG. I didn't like the Clan there. It had very much members. The leader hadn't got any experience of leading a clan. In my opinion BoG and TTF are really alike. But differences are the kind of leading the Clan. I like planing things. They prefer making offhanded things. Skitee: So what kind of plans do you like making? How do you plan your clan's activities? Scholzi96: We have weekly Clantrainings. They are every week at the same date, so everyone is online then. When I make offhanded things I have the risc that members aren't online, haven't got much time and so on. Clanactivities I usually first plan just with the other leader or for my own. When I'm finished I publish the ideas the other leaders. Skitee: Alright. And do you think that that organisation vastly strengthens your clan? How can you see it helping your members? Scholzi96: I think yes. My organisation isn't the best of course I like the one of SS better. But it is good enough to be an good international Clan. My members don't really are interested in the organisation. They want to play and do what I say. They are always motivated to beat the next enemie. They get there free time and have their fun but when it gets earnest they are there. Skitee: Ok, I get you. What is your aims in the future for your clan? Scholzi96: I have the aim to beat SS and DD in an official clanwar. Also I would like to win as much contests and tournaments with my Clan as we can. And maybe in far future we are a legend like SS and DD. Skitee: Is there anything you are doing with your clan at the moment to help you to achieve those lofty aims? Scholzi96: We are training weekly against DD and soon against SS. We fight against the best to learn from the best. Also we are training skills and just have the best members. Skitee: Aha. Well, I wish you all luck. Before we end our conversation, if there is one thing about your clan - anything - that is different from every other clan that you know of, what would it be? Scholzi96: Thanks I wish it you too. Hmmm difficult question but I think we are not so well known then other clans and so often we get underestimated. maybe a difference could be that we let worser players join to educate them. Skitee: Alright. Thanks for taking the time for the interview, and I wish you luck for the future! Is there anyone you'd like to thank for their work in the clan since you were founded? Scholzi96: Yes a big thank you to our Designer with his great work and also to my great Members. Yeah good luck for you, too. Skitee: Thank you.
  7. The first clan to be created in the German part of the forum, Best of German (BoG) have an illustrious history. Whilst other clans, most notably TTF, would try to deny that they are the best German clan, they certainly are strong. They are located highest in the clan rankings out of the German and English clans, and despite boasting not the best clan war record, they still are tough opponents to fight against. ------- Skitee: Hello Waldsee: Hi Skitee: Thank you for taking the time to have an interview today. What is your tanki nickname, and what clan do you represent? Waldsee: No Problem, My Nickname is waldsee and I represent the clan "BeSt Of GeRmAn" Skitee: Ok. May I ask why there are random capital letters in your clan's name? Why not "Best Of German"? Waldsee: it looks better :P Skitee: Haha, if you say so. I personally prefer the "normal" text. Anyway, were your clan the first German Clan? Waldsee: Yes, our clan was the first german clan, we opened the clan at the 04.08.2011 Skitee: Okey-dokey. Sorry, I'm going to be inactive for a minute. I'm trying to help my dad kill some squirrels living in my house. Waldsee: No problem. Skitee: Ok, I'm back. Sorry for the wait. Why was it that you opened your clan? And did anyone open your clan with you? Waldsee: When we created our clan, there were no German clans at that time. We dreamed to make another strong clan, such as SS or DD. And we hoped to get the strongest german clan. But there was a problem..I knew nothing about clans..so the player "frommy" helped me to create the clan Skitee: Ok. And have other German clans been created since you created yours? Waldsee: A long time ago, we were the only German clan. We said that the Germans are one nation and that we don't need other clans. But then we had lots of problems and some players said that they don't want to play with us any more. So they created new clans, like TTF. Skitee: Okay. Does your clan have a strong rivalry with these other clans? Waldsee: Yes, with TTF we are good rivals. But the other German clans don't have as much experience. Skitee: Alright. So your clan was created once the German forum and tanki came out, right? Waldsee: Yeah, I think so :D Skitee: Ok. Do you think there being a German tanki is a good thing? Why do you think the tanki admins made a German tanki instead of, say, a Portuguese version? Waldsee: Yes, it was a good idea to create a german Tanki , because the german players could meet in the german server and we could create the clan :) And I think that they created a german tanki because there are much more German players than Portuguese or so on. Skitee: M-hmm. Anyway, about your clan: What do you think is the most important thing to your clan? Organisation, friendship, weaponary, teamwork? What is it? Waldsee: I think all of them are important. You need all of these things if you want to go far as a clan. Skitee: I agree that they are all important. But which one is the MOST important to your clan? Waldsee: Hmm, then I think that Teamwork is most important for my clan because, if one member need help in a battle, we will try everything to support him. Skitee: Nice, I like that mentality. What is your aim for the clan in the future? As a clan, what do you want to achieve? Waldsee: Our aim is it, to compete with the best russian clans. Skitee: And win? :P Waldsee: Sure :D Skitee: Haha. What are you trying to do to achieve that aim? Waldsee: We train with lots of Russian clans, and after each game we are and will be better. Skitee: Well, good luck! Is there anyone you'd like to thank for their help to the clan, as we wrap up this interview? Waldsee: I want to thank strannnik, he makes all the nice pics on our clanpage. However, his account is now blocked. :( And I want to thank all my members, that they stay with me in good and in bad times! Skitee: Alright. Thanks for taking your time with the interview today! Bye! Waldsee: It is me who has to thank you! :)
  8. Cobras Poison are one of the first Italian Clans in the English community. And whilst other Italian clans have come and gone, they have been ever-present, standing and being strong throughout the months that have passed since their formation. What is it that gives them this stability? ------- Skitee: Hi. Chry: Hi. Skitee: What is your tanki username, and what clan do you represent? Chry: My Tanki username is Chry and I am the leader and representative from "Cobras Poison" Clan :D Skitee: And what country is your clan from? Chry: I and my clan are from Italy. Skitee: All members from Italy? Chry: Yes, we accept only Italian members. This is so that, during a clan war, we can speak Italian together and we understand each other quicker. Skitee: That's a good policy, and it must be awesome to all speak the same language to each other, especially when not many tankmen speak Italian! About your clan, when were you founded and why did you create it? Chry: Beforehand, there was another Italian clan and I was a simple member, but after some months it closed and a lot of Italian players weren't in a clan! Skitee: So you created your clan to be a home for Italian tankers? Chry: Yep Skitee: And how much do you think you have succeeded in creating such a home for Italian tankers to enjoy tanki together? Chry: I'm very happy to be able to create a clan that now has become official, now Italian players can play together. Skitee: :) And now there are lots of Italian clans. When did you create "CP"? Can you remember what date it was? Chry: Exactly 23/01/2012 00:12:04 :). Before, it existed in the Italian forum but i was not major yet and I couldn't publish it in official tanki forum :( Skitee: So how long had you existed in the Italian forum before moving to the Tanki forum? Chry: about..... 3 months. Skitee: Ok. So what is it that has kept your clan going for almost 9 months now. Is it the people, the attitudes, or even your leadership? What do you think? Chry: i think it is the attitudes and the NEW italian forum "TankiOnlineItalia.it". My member are good people. i trust them and they trust me :D Skitee: Are there any particular members that you trust with leadership, or are you the only leader of your clan? Chry: my clan has only 1 leader... me.... and 4 co-leaders. Skitee: Do you think it's important for a clan to have co-leaders? Chry: Yes, because they can help the leader for training or when i can't play they organize all! however i consider them "Leaders" Skitee: Okey. What are the ambitions and aims of your clan for the future? Chry: we want to become the strongest clan of English Community, after that the strongest clan of Russian Community :D Skitee: :D Those aren't ambitious at all! Haha! So what do you hope will get you there? Skills? Communication? Trust? Chry: Ahah if we get skills, commucation and trust , we are the perfect clan XD Skitee: So what are you doing to try to build those aspects of your clan up? Chry: Training war and clan wars against the current clans and trying to understand how to overcome them. Skitee: Done any clan wars recently? How've your clan wars gone? Chry: Recently we tried to have a clan war against DD, but we couldn't play it because tanki don't make battle! Now, there isn't this problem and I think soon we will play against them. We aren't a bad clan ;) Skitee: Alright. Anyway, we have to wrap it up here. Is there anything more you would like to say? To the devs, for example, or to thank members of your clan? Chry: Yes, i want to thank my member for the wonderful clan wars 8-) and the TankiOnlineItalia.it staff for the good job they do every day. Thanks  Skitee: Ok. I wish you all the best of luck in the future, and hope you complete your aims! Bye! Chry: thanks, bye :D Skitee: :)

[Issue 3] Interview with Clan leaders. - PART TWO

Last month, we had interviews with five of the strongest and most famous English clans. This month, there are more interviews for you, from three more famous clans. These clans include two German clans [boG and TTF] and one Italian clan [CP]. It was hoped that an interview could have been held with two other clans [GF and WoD] but their leaders did not contact me in time for an interview. You can read all three of the interviews below! ------ Interview with Leader of clan "Cobras Poison": http://forum.tankionline.com/posts/list/135579.page#2304300 Interview with Leader of clan "Best of German": http://forum.tankionline.com/posts/list/135579.page#2304303 Interview with Leader of clan "The Tactical Fighters": http://forum.tankionline.com/posts/list/135579.page#2304309

Last time, I featured my favourite map of all, namely, Magadan. At the time, I was planning to focus on Solikamsk as my next map. But as I have seen “Soli”'s popularity rise in recent days, most notably in “740” battles, I've decided to feature another map instead: Siege. Siege is a very different map, in a number of ways. In terms of area and space that there is to move into, it is big: nearly the size of Kolhoz or any of the other bigger maps. But in terms of the distances required by tankers to capture a flag or reach the enemy flag, the distances are very minimal, distances which would be more appropriate on a far smaller map such as Magadan or 2042. This is thanks to Siege's very compact respawn points, as we can see in the following picture: As we can see, every single one of each team's ten respawn points are located in a square area of the map no more than three tank lengths by three tank lengths. This is unique to Siege and Siege alone. No other map in Tanki, not even Magistral or such like, has so many respawn points located in such a small area. And, as you might expect, this makes gameplay very crowded with tanks respawning so close to each. It also means that skills are an absolute necessity, particularly the skills at being able to easily maneuvre around teammates and enemies! The respawn points being so close, however, does not mean that using Railgun or Shaft is impossible in Siege. It certainly is possible. It is not too difficult to use the full size of the map to full advantage with a shaft and camping on the side shooting at people in the middle. All you need to do is escape the attentions of enemy tanks when you respawn. Once you are far enough away from your own base, you are safe - which reminds me of the map "Carousel". :P You can also use the full width of the map when capturing a flag. Once you are on the edge of the map, you can follow the side around and then drop down suddenly on the enemy flag. The enemy team will be caught unaware, and if you use skills at avoiding the enemy team, you can capture a flag with ease. An M3 Hornet would help as well! :P Siege is one of those maps where every weapon can work comfortably. You could shaft it out and sit by the edge of the map; defend at range with thunder; melee with ricochet, or rush with freeze. Each tactic works just as well, as long as you accompany your weapon with skill at using it. Unskilled tankmen in Siege will find it difficult to play there: Train in the simpler maps, such as Silence, before taking on the beast that is Siege. So who can play in Siege? Well, Siege is unlocked at Master Corporal, so all except the very newest tankmen can take part in the amazing battles that can be had in Siege! And these battles are certainly worth taking part in. Siege's special respawn points and gameplay are things very unique to this map, as I've already said. If you can take part in it, make sure you do so. No tankman can call themselves a true warrior if they've never taken on Siege! Anyway, before I get carried away with myself, let me give a brief description of what the map is like. Siege is a reasonably simple map. It is generally square, with the corners of the map a little bit "cut off" and rounded into a circular shape. The map is structured around an area in the middle which is set slightly above the area where most of the battling takes part. This area contains the two respawn areas, as we can see in the picture above, and a "hill" area in the middle that surrounds the two areas and stops the two from meeting. This hill means that, to reach the enemy base from your own base, tankmen have to go down from their respawn area into the "valley" area below. This valley area is the area where most of the fighting takes place. The two flags are also located in this tier, behind each team's respawn areas. This tier is littered with awkward obstacles, like walls and holes, to make sure that tankmen need to be on their guard whenever going through this area of the map. There are also numerous areas to hind, but there is not too much space: if you are caught by an enemy, there is generally not enough space to get away and avoid combat. The best way to avoid combat would be to go on the surrounding tier. This "surrounding tier" is the same height as the respawn area, but to get there from the respawns you have to first go through the valley. This tier surrounds the whole map, and contains lots of walls, trees and a fair number of buildings as well. This surrounding area is the crowning glory of siege, the "great leveller", so to speak. It reduces the impact of close-range weapons, such as freeze, which would otherwise be too overpowered, and increases the power of Shafts and Thunders. Well, that's a brief explanation of the map itself. I hope that you can get a picture in your mind. However, a brief description from me here is nothing compared to actually going out and checking out the map for yourself. What are you waiting for? Get out there and take part in the heavy battles that can be found in Siege. But before we finish, let me give you a personal hypothesis about how the map "Siege" is named. Why "Siege"? Why not something else? Is there any meaning behind it? Surely a more relevant name could be found? Maybe even the name of a famous town, like Berlin or Chernobyl? Or a town near where Tanki is founded, like Osa or Parma? Well, as you probably know already, a Siege is a term used for when an army is surrounding a city and closing it off from the surrounding world, despite being unable to get into the city. The city would gradually starve as it ran out food, and eventually the city would be so weak the surrounding army could march in and conquer it. This was especially poignant in medieval Europe, where sieges could last for years upon end, with an army attempting to starve the population inside. And, in a little way, sieges do happen in this map in Tanki Online as well. Not for years upon end (yet), but there are, in a smaller scale, sieges. For example, it is often very difficult to get out of your own base with the enemy team “sieging” your base. As the respawn points are all in the same area, often you will find enemy tanks in the other team's respawn area “spawn-killing” and putting the other team “under siege”. During these periods, it is very difficult to get kills, to capture flags, or to do anything except die! The enemy team is "sieging" you inside your base so that you cannot even leave to get to the outer rim of the map. The blue team is "sieging" the red team's respawn area Unfortunately, this often results in tankmen who don't like losing leaving the battle. If you have a strong team with true tankmen, however, your team will try to push the other team back and then put the other team “under siege”! These times of Sieging, in my opinion, have given the map it's name. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, check the map out for yourself, like I've said! On top of that, what fame does the map itself hold? Well, Siege does not have too much history about it, if compared to other, more famous, maps, like Tribute or Silence - I don't even think it has been featured in any hunts like Magadan was. However, Siege is one of the maps that is at stake in the recent clan contest which competes for maps. At the moment it is owned by the clan “Easy”, who recently defeated the former holders "Peppers" in a comfortable victory. I’m sure that there will be many hot battles coming up soon in Siege for you to watch, if you keep an eye out here! And lastly, who created Siege, and when? The map was originally created back in December 2009, when Tanki was still in it's fledging years, by a player named Stefman. I think that he did a pretty good job, don't you think? Find out for yourself in the game! See you in the battles! God bless, Pictures by WhiteKnight170

Woohooo! This update was made for me! So easy to get points now, so many crystals available now... :P Is it possible to know the maths behind the current calculation of isida's xp? Is it solely based on kills now, or what?

    Spectator Mode

If both teams could do this, the advantage is evened out. It's a bit like using drugs in a battle. People could say that using drugs would give a team an advantage. But if both teams drug, then both teams get the advantage and there then is no advantage as both teams' "advantages" are cancelled out. It's the same here. If both teams can do it, it just gives an added dimension to gameplay. I also think that: -Only moderators on spectator mode should be able to view the health of players and mines. Normal players should be able to view just the nicknames and the ranks. -A game creator can choose an option whether to allow spectator mode or not. (But even if spectator mode is turned off, moderators can still be spectators of the game anyway, like how they can see private battles)

    Needle vs Emerald

Lead is handy. And there is no point for Storm or Rock once you have python. You also forgot In Love. No. But using your logic, neither is the 10% protection advance from Needle to Emerald. And if that isn't much, then why waste 5,000 crystals on something which is not much better?
  24. skitee

    Needle vs Emerald

Protection is weak? Yet it's a good paint? What's good about it, the looks? Really? All Emerald has extra than Needle is survival from one more Thunder hit. That is all. Needle has Ricochet and Railgun protection on top of its thunder. Emerald has nothing, only thunder. And costs 5,000 crystals more.
