@Sclam: I agree that shafts can be very useful in battles. Some things, however, have to be realised 1. Silence is never a reflection of "true" battling. The limitations given by only two areas to attack into the enemy base is a massive limitation. Shafts cover this easily, but in a better map such as tribute, shafts cannot hope to cover all of the map. And if this is the case, with a good bit of tactics, tanks can avoid shafts and take them out. 2. Too many shafts = lack of attack. More than three shafts - and three certainly is pushing it - in an 8v8 is asking for defeat. You won't have the ability to attack with any more than 5 players, and as a result your attacks are certain to fail. 3. Shafts aren't invincible. Shafts can only attack one person at a time. If the first attacker is an m3 mammoth, followed by a viking or a hornet, the shaft will take out the mammoth - then get taken out by the viking, which can go on to clear a path to the flag.

Ways to get a decent team: 1. Don't play in Silence. Dude, 95% of people who play in Silence don't know what teamwork is. Of course they don't! You go into silence expecting teamwork = you made a big mistake. Join maps like tribute or bobruisk or solikamsk for players who care about teamwork. 2. Get a clan, and play with them.

@speedy, the fact is that surely to be sensible it shouldn't be the lowest challenge but the HIGHEST challenge? So the cup travels faster? And the limit is three challenges a week, remember. The first three challenges must be played.. And Bruce is a busy chap. It'd be hard for him to deal with everything.

Bruce, if two teams agree to a battle being no-supplies, can that be counted or MUST all battles have supplies? Aha, rules were different from what I was expecting... Also, towards the end of the tournament, teams will have to be betting more factories, of course... Let's see, maybe at the end Bruce will change minimum bet to 5 and maximum bet to 15 or something... Hopefully he will.

They'd have no way to prepare for all of them and would be finished easily. A few teams working together could then win the whole contest very quickly, and then turn on each other. No, no, the team that beats another team does not get their factories. And a team does not have to destroy every factory either. Let me give you a simple example: Four teams: India, China, Australia, and Russia. Round one: India beat China, Australia beat Russia. India and Australia have 5 remaining, Russia and China have 4. Sure. So now you are the king of the hill. However, you have more or less no defences, as you did not mention any. As you didn't mention any, then according to the rules of the game, you have no defence. So I walk in, fire a rifle at you, kill you, take control of the hill again. I construct the hill as it was beforehand, except with a star wars-esq energy shield, that is impregnible unless turned off. The controls to turn off the energy shield are on my hill. However, to make the game more fun, there is no energy shield between 0-1 miles above sea level. The mines and machine guns are still there though.

It isn't May Day. It's victory day, solely a Russian holiday. If you headed over to the russian forum, you would notice they have "Happy Victory Day" posters up, but we don't have them because UK/US/etc don't celebrate Victory Day.

You don't have the money to hire all of those people. Even if you did, they all start fighting with each other about how to cross my minefield. Iron man wants to fly, but cyclops doesn't think that is the best option and opts for the sacrifice of some to let others get through. Zeus wants to shuttle those who can't fly over, but so does Thor, and they start having a fight. This delay enables me to use my anti-air rockets and my base-to-ground rockets to destroy your troops. They all die/retreat, turn on you for fueling such a useless mission, and kill you. You respawn, and now can try to plan again. I'm still King of the Hill.

Are you sure you had the file format exactly right? (.jpg and .jpeg are treated differently) Are you sure you did exactly the correct amount of spacebar/tab presses? Are you sure the filename is exactly correct - it may be case sensitive you know?
