Respect to Tanki for doing this, I for one disliked the old description because of that reference although it wasn't something which I'd make an issue about. But people did have a problem with it, they complained, Tanki realised the offence they were causing, they changed it.

That drug calculator... man that's really advanced stuff there. Personally, I would love some more guides and opinion, how about articles expressing your personal opinion on certain things?

That is a heretical statement. You are wrong. Tea has to be drunk properly. Yes, I know i posted this elsewhere as well, but here is a typical English response: http://youtu.be/4-1G7m37U18?t=51s

Just because we came up with it doesn't make it right... or does it....

Isida? It's not as if there aren't enough isidas already! How about discounting some hulls or tanks which people don't use so much, such as dictator, shaft, wasp or titan?

Liverpool... dunno about favourite player.

@Admins, What is the official boundary of Rule 2.18
skitee replied to r_AdvocatusDiaboli0 in Archive
Thanks a lot for the reply. :) 1. So what exactly do consultants do which isn't allowed to be discussed? 5. I wasn't asking whether there was any point in it. I was asking whether the rule applies. As you've seen, this rule has changed (from Administrators to Administration) and rules can be changed. They may be unlikely to be changed but I was asking whether asking for them to be changed breaks the rule. 6. But creation of this contest, behaviour of the clan, and performance of weapons are administrators' and moderators' activities (creating the weapon, the contest, and being part of the clan). So how far does the rule apply? 7. So no safeguards, just a possibility to complain to an admin who will inevitably (and rightfully) be biased towards supporting the moderator? And evidence is required, despite the fact that whenever you get banned your message is edited out and there is no way of getting it back? Are you saying to take a picture of every single message we post in case a moderator wrongfully bans us because of it? How else do you suggest collecting evidence if this happens? 8. So the purpose is to make the forum more structured? Can you define structured for me? Anyway, you believe that the best way to do this "structuring" in this regard, rather than getting public discussions where people can agree on something together and discuss it with the person who did the wrong, is to go one-on-one against moderators, who, from my experience, refuse to listen to you anyway on PM? That is the way to get things solved? There's a reason why people tend to do marches, petitions and protests when complaining against a law they don't like rather than simply sending an email to their local representative in the Parliament: The latter doesn't work. 9. I said the community. Not the admins and mods. They are not part of the community, well, very few of the current mods are. So mods are allowed to troll, to fraud, to use decorations in topics, to threaten, to scam, to discuss drugs and terrorism, to advertise....? -
@Admins, What is the official boundary of Rule 2.18
skitee replied to r_AdvocatusDiaboli0 in Archive
Huge +1. :3 If it's one-against-one the person with the authority is never going to change their mind, if a few people all share their honest opinion and give their reasons they could understand and change their mind. :3 -
Do you think that the rank limits are a bit too generous?
skitee replied to FC_BayernMunchen in Archive
There's nothing wrong with this. The lower ranked players can just avoid such a game, but what if, as happens often, a high ranked player has a friend at a lower rank? They can just not play with each other? I don't think that's sensible. Rather, there should be a possibility for such range of players to play in, even if it is unlikely that they will ever want to. -

What? >.< Those seven words are sufficient clarification? >.< I'd like to add a few questions of my own to any administration members kind enough to join this conversation: 1. Does the "activities" include their actions outside their consulting/moderating? 2. Does this apply to reporters? 3. What if the mod/consultant/reporter asks for feedback? 4. Does this include PMs, which is part of the forum as well? 5. I once got banned using this rule because I was discussing this rule. http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=55931 Does this rule apply to those of us who discuss about the rules, such as this topic? 6. According to the phrasing of the rule, you can be banned for discussing contest organisation, for disagreeing with updates, for making a comment upon a staff member's personality, for giving constructive criticism about, say, the newspaper, for criticising the clan of a staff member, for stating that you dislike a weapon or that a weapon is unbalanced, and a whole host of other things. How far does it apply or is it left just to mod's discretion? 7. What safeguards are there against mods abusing their rights (for instance, once a mod banned players who told him that the clan which he created broke the rules (due to a lack of ten members) using this rule as justification)? 8. What is the express purpose of this rule? Is it to protect mods, to stop dissent, to make the forum seem positive even if it isn't, to enable the mods to drop the banhammer more regularly, to give more chocolate to pigeons, or anything, what is the purpose of it? 9. Do you believe it benefits the community? -
Interview [Issue 13] Semyon Talks: More on Micro-Upgrades

Freeze's effect isn't going to be upgradable! -
There used to be a hall of fame for this purpose but when the amount of players went over about 200,000, there were just too many people for the hall of fame and it crashed, never to be replaced. :(

Decent issue, not the best, not the worst. Might give some detailed feedback later, but you guys did a good job this issue. Can we have a contest soon though? :P

Some Interesting (for me at least) Topics for us to Discuss
skitee replied to ForumTroller in Archive
Forum games such as that are useless. True forum games are those that require a lot of effort to play, such as role plays and quiz games and so forth, but which are simple to take part in. And a high post count means nothing. I don't even look at post count. How many posts am I on? Oh, nearly 5000. Never noticed that. >.< It really doesn't matter. -
Really well-written guide. A good railgun can stop all of those measures from working but I'm impressed by the work you put into this, great guide.

Would be good if you could actually add a few more subjects and a bit of "patter" to lengthen the article out and make it more interesting. :)

Other [Issue 13] [News] The Tanker's Post: Third Edition
skitee replied to SpreadLoveNotHate in Newspaper Archive
Hai Lok, Good writing, but as ever there is very few news articles which are actually international... maybe try to scan the headlines of all kinds of international news. IMHO, the biggest news of the month was the resignation of the Australian president, the news in Syria, the g8 summit, the weather in india... of course that's all my opinion, but I personally think that's more important than a few people throwing balls into hoops in the south of america, or one old man (however significant) ill in hospital. Very well written article though. Just not too sure about the choice of news. :/ -
Article is brilliant, pity about the map choice though, would be so much better if you used better maps ;) ... and three of those four (except noise) of those maps are "Small" maps. Medium maps are stuff like silence, molotov, iran and edinburgh.

Interview [Issue 13] Semyon Talks: More on Micro-Upgrades
skitee replied to hogree in Newspaper Archive
Great article. Like the pics. Will weight be increased or decreased on the upgrade? And then will increasing the weight affect the speed calculations? Does Power = Acceleration? What is Penetrating Power? How much will each upgrade be likely to cost and the prices? How long is each microupgrade likely to take? -
Silence II, Valley, and Forest are all equally terrible. Edinburgh is also close.
-
That's opinion. I actually prefer the feedback site, the simple vote feature and the simple listing where you can read whilst scrolling rather than having to click titles to check things out is something that appeals to me. Each to their own, of course.

Dear people, I would just like to point out to y'all that there is an aspect of our community that is being seriously neglected: namely, feedback. Why do people post their ideas on this forum rather than go to feedback. No, it's not because they're noobs. It's because they know that nobody will view their ideas on feedback. Come on guys! Let's all go over to feedback, create an account, and vote on ideas, comment on ideas, submit ideas, turn it into an active community and each idea can get loads of votes so that the administration can see what we want/don't want! Let's do this! http://feedback.tank...0#module_155604. Why do you tell people to go to feedback if you're not there yourself? Let's get active on feedback and vote on all the ideas!

Yeah, sure.... let's be honest, one touch from a freeze and you were stuck, no matter how much damage the freeze did on you... I don't care if it's just an excuse, it's a brilliant update which makes the game more exciting for everyone. And for all the people looking at firebird, look at firebird's price, which is a lot more than freeze... you get what you pay for, firebird might be strong but it's also very expensive and so cutting the effect of it is not fair on the people who have paid a huge amount of cash to get it, in my opinion.
