    [Issue 11] The New Reporters

As some of you no doubt know, there was a contest held recently. The winners would receive Reporter status. I, on behalf of Conan, and all the team, welcome Selena12121, GoldRock, jokjinari, Valletta, and SwagBoy11 to the reporter crew! In this little article, I will do short interviews with each new reporter, so you can get to know them better, if you don't know them already. Jokjinari Ranger7: Hello, How long have you played Tanki Online? Jokjinari: I joined Tanki Online in the spring of 2012 and have been playing actively ever since, even if I don't rank up that often. So around a year I guess. R: How did you find out about Tanki? J: Well, about a year ago, one of my good friends became obsessed with anything that had to do with tanks. He searched the internet and found Tanki. He happened to be playing one day while I was over at his house and he encouraged me to sign up. I did, albeit reluctantly because I thought that Tanki was a bit dumb, but now I'm glad I did, because I really enjoy playing during my leisure time. R: Do you have a clan? J: I actually am not in a clan at the moment. None of them seem to suit me. I plan on creating my own clan sometime in the near future; the only thing I lack are members. R: If you could pick one reporter as a mentor, who would it be? J: I would probably have to say loktinho. I am a fan of his articles and I know him the best out of all the reporters; I'm in his team (Legion of Killers) and he's an outstanding leader. I also knew him a little bit before he became a reporter and when he did, that was one of the things that inspired me to apply. R: Being the new reporters, can you give us a little sneak-peek as to the articles you may write in the coming issues? J: I wouldn't want to give too much away, but this is all I can tell you: Get ready to be surprised! I have ideas for some interesting stories, with maybe a guide or two thrown in. R: Thanks for your time. GoldRock Ranger7: Hello, How long have you played Tanki Online? GoldRock: I joined Tanki nearly two years ago, back in the summer of 2011 when Shaft was introduced. I've been playing on and off for that time - I must have tried to quit about 2 or 3 times previously due to massive amounts of school work. However, each time after a few weeks (and once my school work amount had died down) I ended up typing a 't' into my address bar, and naturally, Tanki popped up straight away. It was my destiny, it seemed; I was forced to return :D I'm not planning to take a break from Tanki any time soon now. R: How did you find out about Tanki? G: I found out about Tanki one holiday, in which I was surfing the internet. I was extremely bored, so I looked up MMO games, and stumbled across an article on a review website about Tanki Online. It looked good, I thought, though allegedly it only had 4 maps available (I later found this to be untrue, luckily - it seems the reviewer wasn't a high enough rank to play all the maps), and so I clicked the provided link - I'm glad I did. R: Do you have a clan? G: Yes, I recently joined TDW (TheDangerousWhites), led by williew and Zero-nl. It's well organised with weekly trainings, and I'm glad that the newer members aren't ignored. I'm planning to stay in the clan for a long time, hopefully. R: If you could pick one reporter as a mentor, who would it be? G: Well, I'd have to say loktinho. He's the leader of my team (LOK), and he's a really supportive leader - I wouldn't want to be in any other team. I've read his articles, and they're great. Basically, he'd be the ideal mentor for any new reporter in my opinion; he's always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it. R: Being one of the reporters, can you give us a little sneak-peek as to the articles you may write in the coming issues? G: Hmm... My articles? Wait and see, but I'll be covering a wide spectrum of genres, ranging from controversial updates to humorous fiction. R: Thanks for your time. SwagBoy11 Ranger7: Hello, How long have you played Tanki Online? SwagBoy11: I joined on August 20th last year. However, I joined the English forums six days later. R: How did you find out about Tanki? S: Last summer I was searching around on miniclip for a multiplayer 3D war game. I found Tanki and instantly loved it, on the first day I ranked up a few times after playing non-stop for a couple of hours. Needless to say, my love for the game never left and although I don't play as much nowadays, I still enjoy being a part of the English community and participating in battles. R: Do you have a clan? S: Yes. I haven't created one, however, a few months ago I joined Behemoth. I've recently become their designer and love battling, chatting and getting to know the members. I'm also in a Team with a couple of other reporters, Legion of Killers. R: If you could pick one reporter as a mentor, who would it be? S: All of the reporters are very talented, so that's a very hard decision. A few of them are very close friends of mine, one of them, loktinho, is even in my clan. But I'd have to say Ranger7. Every single article he releases is well written, his writing skills are very advanced and precise. I enjoy reading all of his articles and hope there are many more to come. R: Being one of the new reporters, can you give us a little sneak-peek as to the articles you may write in the coming issues? S: My main responsibility will be designing, along with FOG-LIGHT. So you should be seeing a lot of my designs on various articles. However, I will be writing some articles as well. I hope to write some guides, stories and various other types of articles. R: Thanks for your time. Valletta Ranger7: Hello, How long have you played Tanki Online? Valletta: I cannot tell for sure, since I wasn't bright enough to keep a log, but I started playing the game in the late summer of 2010. I joined the forum when I was about the rank of WO4 and I started participating actively in all of Tanki's events shortly after the implementation of Shaft. R: How did you find out about Tanki? V: I found out about Tanki Online while browsing the net, searching for an online war game. I had a lot of previous experience with games about warplanes and warships, so TO sounded like a thrill to me. R: Do you have a clan? V: Yes, I managed to get in the lines of clan Behemoth [bEE] as soon as two months ago. I enjoy the atmosphere of the clan since many of my friends are there and we get to have fun and rely on each other more. I am currently also a co-leader of the Bulgarian Warriors team (BGW), where I have another deal of my pals. R: If you could pick one reporter as a mentor, who would it be? V: I don't think it would be really fair to classify a specific member of the reporter team above the others, so I would just go for a big congratulations to all of the conscientious forumers who decided to contribute to the newspaper! R: Being one of the new reporters, can you give us a little sneak-peek as to the articles you may write in the coming issues? V: I feel like I am spoiling some original content, but I will let you know that I am currently working on a new Tanki Online franchise, which is inspired by certain unnamed TV-series. Stay tuned! R: Thanks for your time. Selena12121 Ranger7: Hello, How Long have you played Tanki Online? Selena12121: Hello there. I've been playing Tanki since December 2011, however up until now I've stopped at very uneven rates (I may have been inactive for periods ranging from three weeks to two months). My best days were around Warrant Officer, about when I made my 'WO2s Look Here' topic :D (yes the one which will never die). I play a little less now, hence the rank. R: Do you have a clan? S: I do not currently have a clan or team, and don't intend on joining one. I, as many others do, enjoy watching clan wars/tournaments being streamed, but find the whole process of it as something that doesn't suit me. I find that, especially after recent events, clans cause unnecessary quarrels and tension between players. However, after being invited to a clan for a short time, the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, no one was left out (even if you had joined that very day). R: If you could pick one reporter as a mentor, who would it be? S: Ah... After a lot of thought, I'd have to choose (out of the current reporters) hogree. Why? Well, I enjoy reading his stories/articles each issue; fiction is especially relevant as most of my work will be stories and not directly to do with Tanki. I also admire the variety in his articles, there is never a set pattern, which is quite effective in my opinion. I believe he'd make the perfect mentor with a cheerful personality and brilliant writing skills. R: Being one of the new reporters, can you give us a little sneak-peek as to the articles you may write in the coming issues? S: Sneak peeks, eh? Well, you'll simply have to wait and see. As mentioned above, I'll be doing more fiction than not, hopefully with some of your favourite reads. What do I mean by that? Now, that's for you to interpret. R: Thanks for your time. S: No problem, Sel Conclusion Well, there you have it. Our new reporters have been chosen! I hope many of you will enjoy their work for many issues to come. Let's just hope that Selena doesn't give us too much trouble with our grammar!

    This. Congrats on ranking Selena.

It would add to the fun. Still, I think that the devs like how it is already.

What to buy? What to use?

Well, each has their own benefits Personally, for you, I would recommend getting Isida. It will give you lots of points, and it is epic with Hornet. Not only that, it is also very cheap. Rail is OK, but it probably isn't a good idea unless you are certain to get M3. Another + for Isida is the low rank at which M3 is unlocked at. I'd say try it out. If you don't like it, don't get it, but I suspect that it is probably your best choice.

    Idea

I believe that you should post these here.
  12. Well, I know you guys think that Thunder is not as good as it used to be, but really, you cannot compare the old Thunder with the new one. The old Thunder, as you all know, was very strong, and could beat smokey, twins, fire, rail, and isida almost any day. The new one has to be a bit more balanced. I usually prefer Thunder over Smokey. Smokey obviously has strong powers compared to Thunder when it comes to a head-on assault. However, you must take into consideration the fact that Thunder is designed to take multiple enemies. Though Smokey might be able to kill one enemy tank faster than Thunder, Thunder certainly can take two enemy tanks much faster than Smokey can. You just have to remember that the devs are trying to balance things, and the main difference between the weapons is going to be the differences in style. Using Thunder in a one-on-one fight with Smokey takes away its advantage - the ability to take out multiple enemies. Just like using Shaft without scope mode is taking away its advantage, which in Shaft's case, is scope mode. Thunder hasn't been de-graded - it has been balanced.

What to buy? What to use?

I would say save up. I know it is tempting to spend lots of crystals right up front, but it is better to hold on to your crystals. I would recommend playing the combinations that you already have, and to determine what one you like the best. Once you have decided, I would say get it at a sale, or as soon as you have your crystals. However, an easy way to make sure a sale isn't close, check out the Russian holidays. They don't always have sales, but it is good to check, just to make sure nothing is close, once you have your full crystals needed to purchase your weapon.

    [Issue 11] The Camper's Guide No. V

To be a successful camper, you have to know where to camp, and which guns to choose, and some recommended paints. This guide will give you some tips and hopefully will show you how to be a successful camper. This issue is about camping in Sandal. Tips 1. Choose your hull wisely. If you are playing a big map, and want to get to camping spots close to the enemy base, choose a lighter hull. However, if you want to stay near base, choose something heavier. 2. Use drops to your advantage when you can. If you can find a good camping spot that drops armor or crystals, camp there. It will give you the upper hand in battles! 3. Observe the enemy attack. Make sure that they cannot come up from behind and destroy you. And above all, make sure that your base is securely guarded from them. You might have to take a spot that is right in your base to protect it, but don't worry. That is better than choosing a camping spot near the enemy base with your own base unguarded. 4. In supplies battles, don't use nitro unless you see the Gold. Though it might be tempting to fully drug when you see others doing it, it is best to save your nitro for the Gold. 5. Play TDM matches whenever you can. It will help you earn crystals much faster than CTF or CP because this will allow you to get points without having to worry about your own team capturing the flag. Paints Though the summer has some green, there isn't much. For the most part, you will be encountering a ton of grey here. This is the kind of situation when you want either a mix of green and grey, or a predominantly grey paint, if you want to be well hidden in this map. Since it is always best if you can be hidden when you are a camper, I will put camouflage up as one of the more important factors in choosing your paint for this map. (Summer - Colonel and below) (Corporal) Metallic: This is an excellent choice for beginners. Since Thunder is so popular, this paint is very effective, even though it has low protections. You will love its camouflage, and I think that overall, you will be pleased with this choice. (Major Sergeant Carbon: This is really is good overall for camouflage, and it has superior protection percentages compared to Metallic, but I would not recommend getting this paint unless you need the protections. Overall, unless you dislike Smoky, or see it often, it might be best to stick with Metallic, and worry about a paint later. (Colonel) Urban: Compared to the others mentioned above, this is a great paint. With excellent camouflage, you will most likely be well hidden in this map. It is even better if you need protection against Twins, because if you do, this paint will certainly suit your needs. I recommend getting this paint if you plan on being a specialized camper, because this paint really is good for several other maps that have the same coloring as Sandal. (Summer - Brigadier and above) (Marshal) Prodigi: This is a great paint. Though it might be the only choice considering good camouflage for this map, this is an excellent one. It may be a bit expensive, but it is worth it if you are planning on camping in Sandal any time soon. If you aren't satisfied with excellent camouflage for the price, this paint also has another bonus -he protection against Rail and Thunder. This is extremely useful, since these weapons are usual choices for enemy campers and midfielders. If you can afford it, I suggest getting this paint. (Winter - Sergeant and below) White: The simple choice for many beginning tankmen, this map is no exception. If you fell like you will need it, I'd recommend getting it. It isn't a bad investment. (Winter - Staff Sergeant to Major) Safari: Though it only protects from one gun, and a short ranged one at that, it still has good camouflage. Unless you have serious problems with Isidas, though, it is probably best just to stick with White paint. (Winter - Lieutenant Colonel to Major General) Winter: As you can probably guess, this has excellent protection in winter modes. It has several useful protections, including Thunder and Shaft, both of which could easily be used as campers. If you do not want to wait for Major General, or if you do not want to spend the extra crystals on it, this is a good choice. Otherwise, however, it might be best to stick with whichever paint you currently use, and to save up for Irbis. (Winter - Major General and above) Irbis: If you are planning on camping in any map that has winter mode, this is probably going to be your number one choice. The camouflage is simply incredible. However, since its protection is mainly against short-ranged weapons, you might not be as satisfied with it as an attacker would be. Still, it is a great investment if you like camouflage for winter. Note: From now on, I will not be adding the suggested paints for winter. Since each map's winter version is so similar, just use one of the winter paint selections from maps that included them. Also, for winter, you can use Metallic. However, white is a better choice so far as camouflage goes. Positions Blue This is a good spot, as long as your team guards your right flank, you should do well. Keep in mind that rival campers will probably be around the little cottage, and sometimes behind the walls. I recommend getting a rail or shaft protection paint for this job. Recommended Weapons: Rail or Shaft If you do your job right in this spot, you can be devastating to the enemy offense. Just remember, you CAN'T shoot into the tunnel till you are up close. Also, you don't have to stay on this end of the wall. The left end is also a popular place for the offense to make their move. Just be careful and don't let the enemy flank your team-mates. Recommended Weapons: Rail or Thunder Though the cover might not be as satisfactory as the cover above, this position offers you a very nice view of the little trench to compensate for the loss in cover. Still, if you get killed, the whole team could lose a flag, because most of the positions require each of the players to keep up his end in the game. If you think you can handle the enemies coming through the trench in the above position, it's probably best to do so. Recommended Weapons: Thunder or Shaft With the right equipment, you can be deadly in this spot. The center of the map is a tough place to hold, and to help you out, a nuke box drops every now and then so that you can take the enemies that will probably attack this way. Only watch out; your opponent also can get a nuke box on his side of the map! Recommended Weapons: Rail or Thunder Red For this spot, it might be best to equip a medium or heavy tank. That way, you can use the health box that drops here to the best effect. You should be able to cover this trench with relative ease. In CTF, though, you will need to be extra careful, since you will probably be covering the attacker escaping with the flag. Recommended Weapons: Rail or Thunder This spot is a good one, because if you go a little out of your way, you will find a nice armor box, which can really help. If you can hold this side of the map successfully, the attackers will have a ton of problems getting to your base. Just don't get killed, and you will be fine. Recommended Weapons: Rail or Shaft The advantage of this camping spot is good visibility, and height. You will be able to knock out most of the enemies that manage to successfully get by some of your team-mates. Using the cover to your advantage is key though. Since you can be attacked from multiple angles, it is almost necessary. Recommended Weapon: Thunder or Smoky This spot is very effective. Most enemies will not be able to get past this spot. You have several advantages, including height, plenty of cover, and a nuke box which falls nearby. The main thing to remember is that you can be on either side of the wall, and you might need switch every now and then. Recommended Weapons: Rail or Thunder Conclusion I hope this article has helped you know a few tips on how to select your weapon and paint. I wish you good luck, may you grab many funds because of this article. :)

[Issue 11] The Definitive Guide to: Railgun

The Definitive Guide to: Railgun Hello fellow Tankmen! Rail is one of the most iconic weapons in game, and it certainly has a very long record. In this article, I will review some of its history, and give you a few tips as to how to use it, and protect yourself against it. History Railgun has a very interesting history. Like Smokey, Firebird, and Twins, this weapon has been around for a very long time. However, it was not initially known by the name "Railgun." At first it was named "Fear Machine." This name fit it exceedingly well, since it was at first, the most powerful gun that crystals could buy. Every successful tankman had a M3 Railgun with M3 Dictator. The "Fear Machine" mounted on Dictator really did rule the game. However, that all changed when new weapons came out, such as Thunder and Freeze. It was about this time that Railgun got its new name, "Railgun." So, in the next era of Tanki, Railgun became a historic weapon, which was used mainly for clan wars and special events. With the rebalance, Railgun has become a weapon that is ready and able to compete with its old rival, Shaft. Statistics Game play Though most of the time Rail's gameplay isn't fast paced, it still is a whole lot of fun if you like knocking out enemy tanks at long range. Since you will be doing a lot of sniping, you probably will want to take a bit more time choosing sniping positions, and so that will slow you down. Once you get to your position, though, you will have a lot more fun. This weapon is really effective in NS battles, where the enemy cannot be protected by punching the 2 button. However, this means that you will probably have to go without punching the 3 button, and rely on your skills. Most tankmen enjoy Railgun because it sharpens their skills. If you miss even one shot with this weapon, you are in big trouble! This weapon usually can play both mid field and attack positions very well. How to protect yourself from it If you feel like you have problems defeating this weapon, or if you encounter this weapon often, you might want to try equipping a strong paint to protect against it. I have compiled a small list of suggested paints that protect against this weapon here: Forester: Warrant Officer 3 and below Tundra: Warrant Officer 4 - First Lieutenant Digital: Captain - General Prodigi: Marshal - Generalissimo These are the best paints that protect against Railgun. I did not include other paints that also have moderate protection for their rank, for the sake of brevity. If you think that protection from this weapon will really help you, then look at your rank and purchase one of these paints. They are the best protection for their rank. I suggest that you buy Digital or Tundra if you do not wish to spend many crystals on getting a new paint. But, for those who can afford it, and need it, these are the best selections. How to use it In short, this weapon is not to be used as an attacking weapon. It is best to find a good camping spot with plenty of cover. This will allow you to use Rail as it was initially meant to be used for. It probably isn't a good idea to use it in games without teams, since it is definitely a team weapon. Without a team, Rail is not nearly as effective. CTF is an okay choice, but it isn't the optimum one since the best way to get points in that game mode is to capture a flag. Still it is very useful there, and in clan wars it can be deadly. The best mode to play this weapon in is TDM, since that is exactly what Rail is best at. Most of you know that it is important to work like a team, but if you work like a team with Rail, you will noticed a great improvement in your effectiveness. Since Rail takes a longer time than most weapons to reload, you will find a partner extremely helpful, and it will increase both of your scores to work together. Another last reminder: Don't miss! Rail is great, but since it takes so long to reload, one mistake can mean death. Conclusion Well, I hope I have gone over most of the important things regarding Rail, and I hope that you will have tons of success with this weapon. If you like camping, this definitely is an excellent choice, and you will really enjoy Railgun. Good luck!
  21. Well, I don't think that discounts are due, and in this case it was not expected. I think it can be both a discount and a bonus.
  22. Well I'm glad you know your math. As I said before, these crystals are not added after you make the purchase. It was worked into the price, meaning if you put in an order for 10 dollars, you will see the exact amount of crystals you will get, including the 25% bonus. (Unless you have a Double Crystal Card)

Accept My Greatness or Die - Amazing HD Video !

Well I liked the guy in the star trek suit, but that is about it. He did have a nice beard too...
  24. The extra 25% is automatically updated into the price, meaning that when you set up your order, you will see exactly how many crystals you will get extra immediately. And yes, I have received the 25% crystal bonus, so I'm sure it works.

    Lets discuss the team kick

In a nutshell, when it is released, this will mean that people will now be able to kick inactive people from their team.
