I'm in too. Where do we send the money?

I have to agree, but I've had the painful pleasure of continuously getting nailed by a Shaft that had Isida support. It was impossible to kill and it dominated everyone on the map. So to me it's a wash. But as to your other point about a Vulcan supporting it's teammates. That is the perfect job for it. No other weapon in Tanki is as good as it is at doing that job of supporting a team. That's why I like it so much. Nothing makes my day more than going into a game where a team is getting it's butt handed to them and turning things around for them.

I'd like to point out that a Shaft has basically the ability to aim at the same angles that Vulcans can, but with the added ability to 1 shot you. It takes a bit of time for a Vulcan to take you out. Thus allowing you a chance to escape or for you to shoot back.

I'll have to disagree with you on that point. I drive a medium hull (Hunter) and when fighting other Vulcans I have no problems driving it. They hardly effect me.

You're too funny Lord-of-the-Snipers in your misquote of DestroyerZ10

I have to agree with you that fighting a Vulcan in a light hull is a nightmare, so I moved up to using vikings at first. Then I fell in love with the Hunter/Vulcan combo becaise of the added speed along with near (or even equal protection with MU's) as a viking. But I could say the same thing about going up against a smokey, thunder, ricochet, or even twins in a light hull. I've had my butt bounched all over and even flipped by those turrets, and still do even in my Hunter close up. Granted my style of play is more long ranged, and a Vulcan can reach out and touch you, but I find, after going up against other Vulcans that the pounding effect of a Vulcan drops off quicker with distance than even Smokey or Ricochet. And don't get me going on how Rails or Shaft's knock you around. ( If you've read my previous posts You'll see I really hate going up against Rails and Shaft's). I don't know how many times I've never been knocked clear off the board when running with the flag from one long range shot even in my Hunter. I really think that the developers have nerfed the impact effect of a Vulcan at long range, because in the past I noticed that I used to knock people around a lot more (especially at long distance). But the closer in you get........Yeah I can see your point. That being said though, you could say the same thing about a Rails, Shafts, and Ricochet, which can spin me over 90 degrees even in my hunter. So it goes back to arguments that I've made before. Under certain circumstances almost every turret may seem overpowered depending on many different criteria. What mod it is, what hull and paint you're using, and the distance you are from the weapon. That's what makes tanki so cool, it's more than just holding the trigger down. You have to fight smart too. Ask any guy who in the real world has taken out a T-62 in a Bradley or just using a Dragon missile.

An idea as to why some feel that Vulcan is over-powered ---- Very few people use paint that protects them from it. Think of it this way, the paints I use mainly protect me from what I consider my main threats, which are Rails, Shafts, and Thunder. Thats becuase I like to fight mainly at long and medium ranges, and I hate it when Rails and Shafts 1 shot me and having Thunders frag me. So when short or mid-range weapons get through my defensive fire or sneak up on me, they quickly kill me because I have very little defense against them except for the strength of my hull. Firebirds, Isida, and Ricochets kill me in seconds. When that happens, it definately seems that they are over-powered to me. But that is because I'm wide open to them. The same is true for most other people. Ask yourself, " Does my paint give me any protection from Vulcan?". Like I said before almost any weapon in tanki will kill you fast if you have no protection against it. So don't get mad and say it is over-powered because you choose not to use a paint that helps protect you from a specific weapon. Look around the forums, every weapon has those that say it is over-powered. And I betcha in most of those cases the individuals complaining don't use a paint that protects them from that particular weapon. So like I mentioned in an earlier post, if Vulcan is giving you problems then adjust to counter it. Get a paint that protects you from it. This is a game of compromises, you can't protect youself from everything. So realize that the weapons that you have zero or little protection against are going to kill you quick.

If you're going to do that, then they should decrease the aim ability of shafts back to the old days when it would bounce around more and more the longer you held the zoom aim key. These days they can kill you through the smallest openings all the way across the game board. And they can shoot at basically the same angles that a Vulcan does. Plus a Shaft can 1 shot most hulls across the whole length of the field then quickly duck behind cover, while a Vulcan has to sit out in the open for long periods shooting, giving everyone and their brother a shot at him. You tell me who is over-powered and has the advantage. Rails are even worse. Their auto-aim allows quick snap shots that can also one shot across the field. Once again a Vulcan has to sit out in the open for many seconds to do the same damage, giving everyone, including the one being targeted, a shot at him.

Lord-of-the-Snipers thank you for your clear and pointed views. Plus the way in which you respectfully expressed those views was refreshing. I just wanted to say that smoky and light hulls combo are the ones that give me the most trouble. So I specifically target them when I see them as far out as I can. So that may be what is taking place with you, Vulcans don't like Smokies so we try to take them out as quickly as possible. In fact I really go after all the short range turrets because Vulcan's have more problems with them close up than with other turrets. Also the paint I use has no protection from them. I would suspect too, that you might be having similar problems with Rails and Shafts. They love targeting light hulls. Light hulls are their bread and butter because they can usually 1 shot them. I would also like to point out that in the hands of a skilled player, smokies have an incredible shot angle too. I don't know how many times I've been killed by one that had an angle on me where I couldn't shoot back. So you're making the same point that I am. Develop skill. Also if Vulcan's are so over-powered and easy to use you would see a lot more of them. Another point to go along with that is, yes you may see a lot of noobs using repair kits, but I bet if you go back later and check those guys out, they no longer use Vulcan's, because like you said, repair kits are expensive. Plus isn't that an argument that a Vulcan isn't over-powered? If you need to use a repair kit every time you use it, doesn't that seem to indicate that the opposite may be true? Being good with a Vulcan is dependent on heat management and target choice. Lastly you talked about fights with multiple Vulcan's and how unfair they are, have you ever been in one with multiple Shafts all working together? Now that is a nightmare. Speaking of Shafts, the hull that I see them mounted on most is a Mammoth or one of the other heavy hulls for stability to steady their shots and protection because they are exposed more to incoming fire. So is that wrong or unfair for them to do that? The same goes for Vulcans, they need the stability and they are exposed to more shots because of having to sit out in the open to shoot. However I prefer the Hunter because of it's speed and you almost get the same protection as a Viking. Like you, I like to be mobile around the battlefield. Last note, I think Ricochet, Smoky's, Shafts and Rails knock you around a lot worse than Vulcan's.

This is just a comment on those who constantly complain about a Vulcan being OP. I think it is mainly those, such as the ones who use Rails and Shafts who just sit around sniping who complain the most. Some of them just camp out in the same spots where they always have sat thinking that they're going to rack up easy kills. Then here I come in my supposedly OP Vulcan and take them out. Of course it has nothing to do with being smart at how you attack them. They're used to being the Kings of the battlefield and hate having another turret giving them competition. My favorite part of battle now is when someone screams out "Will someone kill that ***** Vulcan!" . Just like Rails, Shafts, and Smokies, it takes skill and practice to get really good with a Vulcan. I think Rails and Shafts are over powered when they can one shot you clear across the board. But everyone screams that a Vulcan is Over-Powered when all it is is that the person running a Vulcan is in a lot of cases just fighting smarter than them. If you are having trouble with Vulcan's, do what I do about Rails and Shafts.... Develop tactics to kill them before they Kill you. Change hulls, change weapons, change paints, or do all 3. Change what you're doing because what you're doing isn't working. Remember if a Vulcan was as over-powered as everyone is making it out to be then everyone would own one. Looking forward to hearing you guy's cry out.... "WILL SOMEONE KILL THAT ******* VULCAN, HE'S KILLING US!" M2 Vulcan, M2 Hunter, Sandstone Paint

I'm running a m2 Hunter and m2 Vulcan with Sandstone paint. I find this combo is very effective. I'm usually going up against rails, shafts and thunders and I tear them up. The Hunter gives you decent speed and almost as much protection (with a few MU's) as a Viking. With Sandstone paint you become the hunter instead of the hunted. I also find that it is also great for disrupting another teams defense. You either take them out or cause them to withdraw which lets your teammates go on the offense. To be effective you have to take advantage of cover, your weapon cycle time and your opponents weapon cycle time. Also when possible make strategic mu's to the turret, hull and paint. If you do, this gun is great fun and you will consistently end up at the top of any match. Instead of fearing rails and shafts, you will hunt them! Lastly be sure to take out short range turrets before they get in their range to be effective against you. If you don't they can become a major irritant, if you know what I mean. LOL

Hey ChineseTankMan for a guy who has supposedly blocked me and is ignoring me, you sure do a lot of talking about me. If you go through our posts I always referred to the topic. You just try to downgrade everyone who challenged you with facts by your favorite tactic - calling them liers. Anyone going back through your posts will see that you seem to do that alot too. Your the one who baits people. I was willing to let it lay, but you just can't help youself and have to keep keep taking shots at me. If you can't take facts then go away troll.

Your comment below has proven my points about you exactly. And I have noticed that you tend to block people a lot. Seems to me that a person who has only been playing the game for only 7 months ( compaired to my over 2 1/2 years ) sure is touchy about a topic that could make his quick climb up the ranks ( of course druggless and without buying crystals) seem so worthless. I have only been making points that I have observed over my long tenure in the game. I have seen this game go from a very user friendly operation to where now it seems that every opportunity to move up is now only possible by paying for it and not by skill. Yes the game has to be supported financially, but the developers and owners of the game are begining to go to far. I hope that they are paying attention to these posts and the frustration of their players and will moderate their reaction to this adjustment. I also challenge anyone to compare our posts and show me where I have lied about you. And feel free to answer back anytime, I don't block people with differing views. ChineseTankMan Posted 02 Aug 2015 - 15:18 : "So like the liar I eventually blocked, I will do the same with you (haven't read the rest of your response and will stop there)..."

Give it a rest ChineseTankMan, and by the way I spent a little time scanning back through your other posts. You are a Drugger, though you try to seemingly qualify that statement by saying, Only if the other guy drugs first (kind of a childish reasoning don't you think), which I highly doubt is the case given they way you have been a pitbull in your reactions to differing opinions in this and other forums. You feel that everyone should be happy to be pouring money into the game and that they should be happy to do so whenever the developers do a bait and switch. As to sabatours I attack them. When I notice them I use the appropriate hull and make their life misserable by continually pushing them over the edge til they leave. You can report hackers when they appear. So what is your point? Yes the game needs to be suported financially, the fact of the matter was I had actually spent more money on the game because of the new system, I have felt that the prices in the garage were overpriced and with the new mission system it brought those prices down to a more reasonable level, and so I was willing to SPEND more money on the game. As to those who have no skill or are just plain lazy, they could continue spending as they had. You and your friends have boasted of making 20,000 or 30,000 gems due to the new system, well I'm sorry that is nothing in the game. You could spend that on a couple of micro upgrades. The one thing I appreciated about the new system, though, is it did give the little guy the opprtunity to compete in the big leagues. But as I've said the developers have overreacted and taken that away. The developers use to reward their loyal customers in the past, now they just take. And as I've said before, if they keep that up the customers will go somewhere else. It's a simple balancing act for a business, and don't forget that this game is a money making business to them, and they have just harmed themselves, their credability and their customers by this over-reaction.

I will say ...... no I have not read every post you have made, I am only responding to your posts on this topic. As to lying.... something I avoid at all costs. I'm also humble enough to admit I'm wrong if proven wrong Oh by the way did you read what you typed out when you said "so you either haven't bothered to read what I've typed" when you admitted earlier that you didn't completely read that other guy's post?
-
And that is why what you write has very little merrit. You cover your eyes when you come across things you don't like. It's one thing to refute arguments with facts. In fact you could have more information that would clarify the situation, but instead sharing it, you lower yourself to childish remarks, like that above, and completely ignore any facts that threaten your world view, which is proven out further by your following comment. You try to make it sound like you are so intellegent, but it is quite clear from this and other comments that you have made, that you are fully behind anything that the developers do, no matter what it is. I also believe that there is a strong possibility that you must have some kind of ties to them in order to put forth the remarks you have. So I will say this, if they continue down this path of shutting down every avenue that, shall we say, less fortunate players can level up their equipment, then in time most people will tire of the game and it will fail. And sad to say, one of the funnest tank games I've played will fade away. In answer to your earlier comment,.... for the most part, the one thing I admire most about this game is that the developers have been very good about countering hackers and that is why I like it so much. Having endured games where hacking is rampant this is indeed a refreshing change. Also Drugging is the one thing that does unbalance the game more than anything else. But like I said earlier that will never change because the developers make too much money off it. That is why we no longer have the option to exclude it unless you're willing to PAY for a pro pass. Oh by the way, you still didn't answer my question about how much drugging you do in the game.
-
All I can say is if the shoe fits. And if you had read my post you would have seen that I was clearly stating a fact that whenever an adjustment takes place in the game that threatens those who have attained their lofty ranks by buying their way to the top (I assume that because of the amount of drugging that I observe them doing) that it has a tendency to go away because it has "Unbalanced" the game. And yes I have supported this game with buying crystals and I have up to date equipment. But I do believe skill should be rewarded too. And the developers have just severly hampered those who maybe enjoy the game and are good at it but are held back because they may not have the funds to improve their equipment. I also said that adjustments may be needed too. But that this time the developers overreacted instead of actually fixing the problem. Also I have noted, through observation, that those who cry the most are the high rankers that I consistantly blow away in the game. You know if you really want to balance this game out, do away with drugging. Oh, thats right, that's where they make most of their money, sorry that won't happen. By the way ChineseTankMan how much drugging do you do during a game?
-
I agree with many of the posts here that basically point out the fact that the developers just pulled a bait and switch. Instead of adjusting the difficulty of the missions to reflect the reward they just pull an across the board 50% reduction. No problems were fixed and for those who maybe can't afford to constantly buy crystals, once again they have closed the door for them to be able to play and enjoy the game and have a path for upgrades that doesn't require a boat load of money. I see the ugly head of the greed monster raising it's head. I'm finding it more and more frustrating in the game because it just seems that it is the cry babies that get the most influence in the game. Yes tweaks have to be made from time to time, but it just seems that those who have the skill get the Shaft (pun intended) the most.
