    Sabotage: D-T-B (En)

The player D-T-B has been banned for other violations. Record of sabotage will be included in karma. Reported to the tech support
  2. I think one problem is this. Sometimes staff say things in the capacity of a staff member and players have to exercise restraint in how they respond as they are not allowed to publicly discuss what that staff member has said. That said, staff should be extremely careful as not to bait players into getting a ban, intentionally or not. When staff contribute to a topic, they should ask themselves, is what I'm writing provocative in anyway? If the answer is even the slightest of maybe's then they should not write it or rephrase it. Restraint is a two-way street. I'm not saying this type of thing is the norm but I'd guess there are lots of players who have had a ban this way. Hopefully that was constructive.

Please do not ruin the forums

There is a difference between venting one's frustration with whining. You yourself could be accused of whining but you're entitled to whine if that's what you want to do. If players want to vent their frustrations over the current format then you should have some degree of respect and you should let them. Calling for bans for making criticisms of the game is going a bit far don't you think. Supplies and product kits are now an integral part of the game and business and I believe they can ruin games when you find yourself unable to compete against opposition many times more powerful than you. Sure, buyers should have an advantage over non-buyers but don't you think skill should be rewarded over brute force. I've always believed that there should be some link between a players strength and the experience points they receive for kills. m1/m1 destroys m2/m2 gets the same amount of exp pts as the other way around. Why? Even worse, m2/m2 using supplies destroys m1/m1 not using supplies gets 10 exp pts What I'm advocating is a change in the amount of experience points awarded to a player that is dependent on how strong they are at the time of a kill and the strength of the opposition they destroy. Think about it. It is the way to go and Tanki are missing a trick here if they don't persue it. It would be a solution that not only addresses the problem but also preserves balance.

    Fair or not Fair

Hey, , I think you'll come to find that, in time, you'll come to appreciate the difference between ranks that can play in a battle. There will come a point where that will be you grabbing that Gold Box. If the difference between ranks was too small then there would not be much point in ranking at all. Everyone would be pretty much the same strength - like all of the time. Also, (i'm not sure about this), I think the rate at which crystals fall are faster in high ranking battles. Hopefully someone can correct me or elaborate further.

    Fair or not Fair

Hi eragon33, The op wasn't posting something that was more suited to the FAQ thread. I'm sure that , who has 37 posts to his/her name, was wanting to engage others and discuss an aspect of the game with other like-minded individuals. This is precisely what the forum is for. Your reply, to me, is extremely unwelcome here and it only serves to undermine newcomers, putting them off ever posting again. The number of downvotes against your reply should tell you something. Sorry if it sounds like I'm picking on you - I'm really not. It's just that I think you should hear my thoughts. Cheers...

    Feedback on staff

I don't think the purpose of this thread is to get explanations of past actions or even get feedback from any given situation so don't be upset if you don't receive any to your posts. It's great that we're given an opportunity to vent on things that we're not normally allowed to so don't expect too much in this topic. State for the record what bothers you and let's hope procedures get tweaked so that everyone's a winner.

    Feedback on staff

Hi again. Hope you don't mind me having another say. Here's a random situation: Player1 starts a topic and says, "I''m not happy with x, y and z - I want a rebalance!" A typical answer from staff might be, "This will never happen - Thread Closed". This sort of reply, (and I know I made it up), imo, is wrong in so many ways. 1. Don't state something without giving a reason for it. 2. Don't close it straight away without at least giving the op or others adequate time for a response. If you terminate topics too fast, don't be surprised when players complain that discussion is non-existent and the place is dying. 3. Don't be afraid to represent Tanki Online by saying, "we", or "we're". eg, "Thanks. We have considered a rebalance but sadly it doesn't fit in with our plans at this time". 4. Allow the thread to continue if others join it. eg, Player2 says, "I hear you buddy, let's make a poll to get opinions". Even though you know the topic is going nowhere, let it evolve anyway. You never know, something good may come from it and players will enjoy discussing aspects of their favourite game with fellow players. It's this interaction that gets cut short far too often. Sometimes but not always, it is better not to reply at all. Allow players the satisfaction of answering or discussing first. This gives players a sense of accomplishment and inclusion. The forums are primarily for us. If we give bad advice or go off topic then by all means jump in and correct us. Lastly, give a little bit of thought to way replies are phrased. For instance - staff use the word, "Kindly", a lot when "Please" would be better suited. I know your hearts are in the right place but it gives the impression that you're annoyed at the person you're replying to. I know English isn't always a first language. Don't be afraid to use, "Sorry" or "Thanks" - it makes us feel like valued customers and not nuisances. Please don't get on the defensive about this - It supposed to be my input on how I think improvements can be made. It's your right not to agree with me and that's fine. I'll be happy that you've read what I've said and took it on board. If I think of anything else - later... Best,

    Feedback on staff

Hi, thanks for creating this topic. One thing that really gets me irritated is that overused word, "Pointless", just before a topic is closed. There are few things worse for customer relations than to terminate someones question, suggestion, idea etc, with it. One, the op can't reply and Two, it can make them feel inadequate in the sense they're been ridiculed in public. Wouldn't it be be better to say something like... "Thanks for your post. [insert reason for closing topic]. PM me and I'll be happy to reopen this topic if you think your question/suggestion/idea etc, has been misunderstood or has not been adequately explored or answered." It doesn't have to be that elaborate but anything is better than "pointless". Also, could you crack down on forum members who use it too? Any newcomer to tanki or to forums in general may be put off returning and contributing further when confronted with the P word. I'm not saying ban them, just let them know their contribution is not welcome. Encouragement is needed, wouldn't you say? Best,

    Why your opinion matters

In that case, may I politely ask that when a player is banned, could you leave their post up for others to see, (excluding insult and profanity of course), in the interest of transparency and education. We'll soon find the boundaries if we see why others are getting a ban. [Edit: Sentence deleted as I didn't know if it broke rules.] You need to issue more warnings and less bans. This place is so strict and confined, I almost get claustrophobic. That said, I welcome your post Semyon. Anything you can do to loosen this place up and make it more enjoyable is a good thing.

Update 186 — Product kits for all ranks!

http://feedback.tankionline.com/topic/163700-garage-add-to-basket-special-offers/?lang=en The above link says, "This came up when discussing Product Kits Update 138. Many miss out because some promotions/discounts do not apply to them. Instead of making one purchase at a time, why not have an 'add to basket' option? This can be used also in conjunction with special offers, product kits and bundles. eg, Any Gun + Hull + Paint + 100 of each supply @ 25%-50% off This will ensure discounts are there for all (at selected times) and not just a select few." If tankionline thought about this for more than 3 minutes then my suggestion to feedback 6 months ago would have been a better option. The thing that makes people "scream" is the sheer inability of tankionline to balance, not just income and player happiness, but fairness too. This update is so unfair on so many levels. From a non-buyers perspective, everything is unfair unless you are going to increase battle-funds, crystal drops and decrease pricing. We all know that is not going to happen. From a buyers viewpoint, why give others opportunities they themselves didn't have? How fair is it that someone plays the game to increase XP to rank-up, buying an m3 Smoky for example, only for a product kit to come along which includes the M3 Smoky and hull you don't have yet due to ranking - BUT - can't buy because it makes no sense to! Do yourself a favour, +scrap it now+ and go back to the drawing board, that or consider alternative options for increasing revenue. My suggestion on feedback doesn't give hulls, weapons or paints to ranks that can't earn them naturally, but what it does do, is allow EVERYONE (who have the crystals), to take advantage of a fair offer.

I'm saying, sarcastically, your rants are worthy of a Holynoodleness award. You didn't really think you were getting 1 million crystals did you?

Update 186 — Product kits for all ranks!

This is a smart move by tankionline but only in a very short term financial sense. They're in for a massive pay day. This will weed out non-buyers and will entice them force them to buy if they want to compete. This will be a disaster in the medium and long terms unless they limit the bundles to a specified duration because ranks mean diddly squat now. Give a Private the option to buy 1000 of each drug and they can become a monster that non-buyers, even those several ranks above, cannot compete with. What next? Pay $1000 and get unlimited supplies? Just do away with ranks and rename tanki to OpenYourChequeBookiOnline.com Non-buyers, it was nice knowing you.

    Noobs playing tanki. Teamkick problem

I agree with you here and your point 3. This is also annoying the other way around. eg, Isida player is not healing and just getting killed, ie a mult, I could vote him but nobody is aware of it because there is no immediate audible or onscreen notification until they press tab which might be never. I submitted that to feedback before. But from your perspective, you're battling away then suddenly kicked! It would be nice to know that there is foul play going on to get you removed. It would give you time to record it and complain as you say. It would be nice to get a definitive answer from staff if team kick is staying or going.
