Yep. If you plan on using Smoky a lot, grabbing Viking would not be a bad choice either. You will have a lot of versatility between Hornet and Viking. Once 5,000 crystals is noting to you, I would also highly recommend getting the 50% Score Multiplier Pass. So overall, I recommend: Turrets: Smoky, Railgun, Firebird (If you need a change of pace and need a high DPS weapon) Hulls: Hornet, Viking Paints: Forester (10% Railgun) should last you until you can pick up Tundra (30% Railgun, 10% Smoky). 2 (possibly 3) turrets + 2 hulls + 1 noob paint (until an only half-noob paint unlocks). This should enable you to keep everything you are using upgraded when the next M becomes available. Good luck! :)

Smoky would be a good choice, but it loses most of it's power once you reach WO5 unless you have DoublePower constantly on. You will need another weapon to use between WO5 and Colonel (7 ranks difference). Railgun would be a great balance, and maybe pick up Firebird as well for a short range weapon if you have the crystals.

All are equally good in their own ways. Which one is best depends on the maps you play. Small = Hammer, Medium = Smoky/Thunder, Large = Thunder. (IMO)

Thunder and Isida. Thunder gives you a medium/long range weapon, and Isida gives you a short range weapon that is always a benefit in team battles. Mount both on Hornet (although I guess that only narrows it down to three :P).

When it first onlocks, Twins M1 is a nightmare for your opponents, especially in maps with a height difference where you can sit above or below them and smack 'em without them hitting you (such as Noise). As for hull and Smoky, if you decide to go for Smoky/Hunter, be prepared to wait many ranks before each unlock. M2 and M3 for both unlock rather late compared to other M2 and M3 equpnemt. On the flip side, that means that the base item is that much better without MUs. :)

Agree completely. Cedar has the same Thunder protectionas Rustle for half the price, and is only slighyly worse than Emerald, but you can fix that with MUs if you feel like it. The ultimate Thunder paint is definately Clay. Granted, it starts as only 20%, but you can MU it to 50% Thunder/Railgun/Ricochet. It is total beast.

I think the next 50% sale will likely be either Halloween or Christmas.

I usually play offensive, but of late I find that defense is something that I lack. That is why I got Titan M3 and Rock, now I just need a turret to complete my flag/point camping combo. I usually play CTF, sometimes CP, in Silence, Noise, Polygon and Rio. I already have Hornet M3 Isida M3 and Thunder M3, which are good for offense and support, so defense is what I need to focus on.

I'm not going for Emerald or Prodigi, since I am aiming to get Clay as ASAP after I reach Gissmo. Fully MU'ed, it has 50% Rail/Thunder/Rico, which would mean I would be wasting crystals on Prodigi or Emerald. Same goes for Mammoth, I already have Titan M3, so it would be a waste of crystals (plus Titan is better IMO). I am really trying to decide between Firebird M3 and Ricochet M3. I want something to go with my Titan, and my first choice would be Twins, but I only have Twins M0, so that would be much more expensive to get to M3. So Ricochet M3, maybe?

Or should I be looking at a different hull or paint? P.S. Any Idea when the next 50% sale will be? Will it be Halloween or Christmas?

Cedar should hold you for Thunder protection until you reach Gissmo, whence you should definately get Clay and MU it. A lot.

Buying Rustle or Cedar would be good for you. While Emerald does outclass them both, Clay outclasses Emerald (with MU's). If you can bear to wait a 6 more ranks past when Emerald unlocks (or do not get a lot of crystals) then you should get Cedar now. It's Thunder protection is the same as Rustle, and the secondary protections don't mean too much as you will be using Cedar primarily for its Thunder protection. Then get Clay when you hit Gissmo and MU the Thunder protection A fully MU'ed Clay has 50% Ricohet/Thunder/Railgun protection, FYI.

After getting Tundra and Cedar, do not buy another paint until you get to Field Marshal. Then Rock would be an awesome buy. Also, check out the two articles in the newspaper that talk abuot high tier paints. I think you may find them useful.

U missed lol :P To answer your questions: short = Twins medium = Thunder long = Railgun combo = Thunder and Viking/Dictator save up for paints that unlock in a few ranks. Also check out the Paint articles (there are two) from the most recent Newspaper. They offer some good insights to high level paints.

*SLAP* But seriously, which ever one you choose will work in the long run. Titan will unlock sooner so you will be able to use it more, but Dictator cant be beat in Gold hunting and is a total beast at M3.

If your internet connection, FPS, and skill level are good enough use Wasp. The starting top speed of Wasp M3 is higher than a fully MUed Hornet M3, for only 17 HP difference (at base).

The Smoky protection is better than Twins IMO. Smoky Crits are super annoying, while twins can be dealt with.

Yes, but the M3 Dictator unlocks at Gissmo. Titan M3 unlocks at Field Marshall, 2 ranks before. If you are the patient type, get Dictator. otherwise Titan should be your focus IMO.

If I wasn't getting Rock this sale I would be getting Twins. As it stands, Twins is the next thing on my list.

You are on the tipping point of paints. Below your current rank are M3 paints, while above are what I call M4 paints. I recommend that you wait until you rank up at least once before buying a paint, and then get Rock. Once you get to Gissmo, the first two paints you should get are Clay then Zeus. Then focus on MUing them.
