I'm not sure it is related but since this update the lag has increased, but it is different then normal lag. It is more like players are out of sync with each other. I was killed by a rail that missed me by 6 tank lengths. I saw several other players with similar problems. I also killed at least 1 player, maybe more, and I was not even aiming at him. I fired about 45 degrees in the other direction. I saw a few players losing flags only to suddenly be found several tank lengths away flipped or continue driving without the flag only to explode several tank lengths away. The comments indicated they did not drop the flags. I also shot some tanks that I received the XP and score for but didn't explode for a second or 2 later. I have been seeing that very few tanks can push each other now they either end up on top of or underneath of each other. I'm sure this is not by design. Lots of turrets turning strangely. Lots of what looked like fly hackers.1 guy fell off the top into the blue base on noise about 5 times only to jump right back to the top. He finally ended up on his back. I know the guy and I don't think it was a hack. He asked "what the **** just happened". It also seems like my equipment has been nerfed a lot. My partly MU M3 hammer is taking 5 - 6 shots to take out hornets. Yesterday it was fine. Same issue with Thunder. Sometimes it will take out a hornet in 2 shots next time 6 for the same player. No, it was not supplies or healing etc. I'm not stupid, I know when something is not working correctly. I suspect it is related to this strange lag issue. I'm not the only one complaining about this in the games. It was happening on the 3 servers I played on and in all the battles I was in, and not just me. 3 other players, I trust, and play with all the time also had similar experiences since this update. I'm not exactly sure what is going on but something is definitely wrong.

I can think of at least one group of players from a particular country that will be able to afford to do it. Thier only goal is to get all the crystals and gold boxes at any cost, even if it means using cheats or spending $700 USD to gain an advantage.
-
Stock up on the supplies. You'll need them. Tanki is becoming a very expensive game to play. It is turning into a buyer's game and buyer's with lots of spare cash at that. Here is something to think about, add up all the costs of all the micro upgrades. Those M3's will cost you a whole lot more, then if you just waited until the appropriate rank. Just another step towards forcing non buyers out of the game. Buyers will be able to upgrade those brand new m2 as soon as they get them. How are non buyers going to compete against that? Just another smart marketing ploy to encourage you to buy more crystals. Raiding groups will only grow and the use of mults and cheats will also increase as the demand for crystals becomes overwhelming and turns players to the dark side. Tanki's short sightedness baffles me at times.
-
Yeah, I know, they have smart lawyers that wrote that, but that should not be something they can hide behind and release a defective product. Especially when people use real money to purchase it. Oh well, eventually as the word spreads, more and more people will just stop buying crystals and they will not have anyone left to pay their wages. I stopped buying a long time ago. If they have no respect for me or my money, I'll chose to not support them and keep my money in my pocket.

I use Stand Alone 17 and shaft is pretty much useless. Spins out of control after a re-spawn, if I was in zoom mode when I died. Goes to full up or full down when entering zoom mode. I have never enabled mouse controls, I've always been too afraid of completely ruining all control. This messes up other controls from time to time for other hulls as well. Auto aim will stop working. This update should have never been released in this state. Tanki really has 2 choices. 1. Revert the update. 2. fix-it Ignoring it will not make it go away. Are there any lawyers on here? Do you think we could do something to get the money back or at least a refund of crystals spent on Shaft? I am requesting you remove "Shaft" from my garage and refund me all the crystals I have spent on it. It is a known defective product and I would like a refund. I'm not asking for the real money that I used to buy the crystals, only the crystals them selves. I can spend them on something that works. Any business in the world should honor refund requests on known defective products. In most cases they do it for fear of a class action lawsuit.

I already thought of that but there is no way to do it. If you add anything but the players name the /vote command fails. Maybe a dev could remove that limitation. That's assuming they even want us to report people. I wonder if they only added /vote to satisfy some law that says they have to have a way for players to report abuse.
-
Now if anyone would like to try it for them selves, PM me and I can provide you with a copy.

I have had a few people comments that typing is just as easy or easier, so I will do a comparison. You can easily see that "EZ Slash Vote" is much easier to use and much faster to use. I will use the same fictional character " I_LOve_to Mult ". From his name we can see he is a mult, also he is hiding in the garage. I will add the optional steps in yellow. I personally like to tell everyone that I have sent a /vote and the reason why. Current method: { 4 keystrokes, 2 clicks plus typing} { 6 keystrokes, 2 clicks plus a lot more typing} push tab while holding tab, click the name ( I_LOve_to Mult ) click "copy name" press enter type "/vote " press ctrl-v (don't forget the space in between /vote and the name or it will fail) press enter press enter again type " A /vote report against player (crtl-v) for being a mult. Additionally a video is being captured and will be reported in the violators section." press enter Using "EZ Slash Vote": { 4 clicks, no keystrokes, and no typing} click the "/vote" button click the name (I_LOve_to Mult) click "copy name" click the "Report" button Using "EZ Slash Vote" with the optional message: { 6 clicks, no keystrokes, and no typing} click the "/vote" button click the name (I_LOve_to Mult) click "copy name" click to select the reason "mult or inactive" click to select " A video and screenshot is being captured" click the "Report" button The resulting output will be: A /vote report against player > I_LOve_to Mult < was sent for being a mult. Additionally a video or screenshot is being taken and will be reported in the violators section.

My app uses a minimum of 4 clicks, a maximum of 6, requires no typing, and takes only seconds to use. How is typing all that simpler? I'm going to do a comparison in my Does /vote still work? topic.
-
I should clarify a few things. My program only simulates what you can already do. However it automates the steps so someone can issue a /vote in as little as 4 clicks and a max of 6 clicks. Adding a reason and whether you are recording are optional. If Tanki where to add this directly to the game it would be 3 - 5 clicks. /vote can be misspelled by accident. They are called typos. Also some players don't even know how to copy and paste into the chat remembering to add the space. But I'm pretty sure if they saw a "report" button, they could figure out how to use it. "The reason" is posted as a deterrent. If the player leaves or stops doing whatever it was you reported them for, then great. Problem solved. Seeing as mods rarely come, a deterrent that stops the behaviour is the next best thing. If the offender doesn't stop and gets caught, well thats just a bonus. Additionally, if a mod does come he/she will already know why he/she is there and what he/she is looking for. It would make their job easier. I am not offering this out of disrespect for developers. I'm offering it to help the players that feel like they could use something a little simpler and more effective. If the developers like it and want to add it themselves, that would be fine with me. I'm not looking for credit or recognition.
-
You really have no idea what /vote is for do you? LOL It is for reporting all the game violations not just chat violations. The problem with the current system is that you need to press "tab", copy the name of the player, then paste it into the chat, and if you don't get it right you need to do it again. My system only takes 4 clicks, no spelling mistakes, and also tells everyone else why you sent a /vote. Did you seriously say prove lightshot is 3rd party? I don't even know how to respond to that without insulting your intelligence. As for cheaters making Tanki money, how many extra supplies do players use before they give up fighting these worthless people? Many people will spend real money to replace those supplies. Additionally some players will do micro upgrades just to combat these types of people. As for complaining. If no one ever complained the game would be at the same state it was back in 2009. Developers use our complaints to make improvements based off of what we complain about. So you run along and go play before someone thinks you are a developers alternate account or a Tanki fan boy.
-
Oh SO your M3 equipment is different then mine. Do you have some sort of generalissimo ego complex? Are you trying to say players of my rank aren't worthy of going your battles? Just to be clear, I was far from being a mult, and these comments come from a drugger using an M3+ vulcan on a titan backed-up by an isida camping on the ledge of silence, a lot of skill required there. And you the nerve to call me the noob. LOL Now go troll someone else.

Nice way to go off topic. This is a business above all else. Every decision made is about the potential of making a profit. Chat mods are not responsible for come to "yellow" battles. See the post by @GhostRider750 This is about /vote. Not reporting chat violators. Violators do not directly impact profit, in fact they may actually increase it. So, in my opinion, Tanki may never do anything big about the issue of mults, hacker, and saboteurs. I'm only offering up an option for those that want to use /vote an easier and more effective way, but I will not make it public if no one is interested in using it. Now if the devs see my demo and decide to add their own version that is great too. All I know is we need something better. This along side KICK2 would be a huge improvement in player satisfaction.

1 minute is too soon. I see too many players wasting time in the garage changing instead of fighting. I also think 5 minutes makes more sense.
-
My opinion is that things are better but still not quite right. Thunder's splash damage range could be buffed just a tiny bit. Increase by 10% Freeze effect lasts too long. Reduce the time by 25% Firebirds burn time is too long. Reduce the time by 20% Vulcan is still overpowered. It's damage is too high and the impact is too high. Reduce both by 25% Light hulls could use a little more protection. Increase by 10% - 15%

How are you doing it?

Thanks for that information. Direct @Yele to this if you prefer.

Vote please. The poll was missing the first time I posted it. Not sure why.

EDITED: 10/18/2015 This topic is for entertainment purposes only. According to Tanki nothing better then /vote can be implemented into this game. Frankly, I think that is just a load of crap. I don't think they consider mults and sabotage a real problem. Don't you think, if they did they would have done something about it by now? So continue reading if you like but remember, you are wasting your time. How /vote is supposed to work /vote is a command that you are supposed to type in chat. Example: /vote canadian_eh If enough players issue a /vote the battles title, in the battle list, will turn yellow. This is only visible to moderators that are currently logged into the game servers. A moderator that sees that "yellow battle" is supposed to go into that battle and determine why players have issued a /vote. The problem is, it doesn't work very well because it requires too many players to issue the /vote. Also there are not enough mods to take care of all the battles. The other problem is that the mods do not know why they are even going into a "yellow battle". It could be for some chat violation or it could be for a game play violation. Chat mods look after chat violations but are not required to take care of game violations. Game violator mods are responsible for game play violations like mults, hackers and saboteurs. This sounds easy but it is very time consuming for the mods. Plus there is the added confusion of "Who is taking care of what and why?" So many times mods will simply ignore these "yellow battles" if they are busy with other things. Meanwhile game play is being ruined for many players. So much so that some have just given up and left Tanki all together. The developers started out with a good idea but never finished it. Even @Yele has been after the developers to fix it but nothing has ever happened. Kinda makes me wonder why. I think that sometimes the devs get so caught up in adding new supposed cool things they forget to fix and finish the important but less exciting stuff. Everyone wants to have the party but no one ever wants to clean up the mess the next day. My Option Here is how it could work. It is a program I wrote called EZ Slash Vote. It work alongside your game and makes it easier to issue a /vote. There are no tricks or hacks, it simply simulates what you can already do with your mouse and keyboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVnF1QhTkkc Yes I know the word "player" was missing out of the first pop-up. It has been fixed and now reads "Click on the name of the player you want to report" I just didn't feel like re-shooting the video. Sometimes, simple use of this is enough to chase them off. Something like this makes it so much easier and maybe we could actually get players to use it. I have given a more detailed explanation of what EZ Slash Vote is in this post. If you would like to see a direct comparison between /vote and EZ Slash Vote, read this post I've made further down in this topic. If anyone would like a copy of this program to use PM me and I can give you a link. Also there is another option. Players Moderation - KICK 2.0 It is a system that would allow players to kick mults. etc. from battles. It is based off of scores and your ability to accumulate and maintain a score. In other words "you play you stay" you don't your out. It was designed by @AbsoluteZero with assistance from me. You can read my interview for Issue 35 of the Tanki Newspaper. [issue 35] [interview] Is Voting still Effective?

The only tool we have to combat dishonest players is /vote. It is supposed to alert a mod to take a look at a certain battle, however it doesn't work very well because it requires a few players to issue the /vote and also there are not enough mods to take care of all the battles, but it is all we have. I have written a small app to help with sending a /vote. Here is a little video of it in action. It posts a message in chat that tells others that you have issued a /vote and just the simple use of this is sometimes enough to chase them off. Something like this makes it so much easier and maybe we could actually get players to issue a /vote. If your interested PM me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVnF1QhTkkc Yes I know the word "player" was missing out of the first pop-up. It has been fixed and now reads "Click on the name of the player you want to report"

It is only logical to assume that Tanki prefers to have mults in their game. It must make them more money.
-
So you are suggesting to use mults. You are no better then them.
-
The Rusty Relics do not officially support this. What Rusty Relics do on their own is totally up to them, but they will never break game rules or play in an un-sportsman like way. I understand what you are trying to do, but I will reserve judgement for a future date. Honestly, you have simply created a Clan, so why not call your selves one?
-
This will only lead to people breaking the rules. True raiding parties break all kinds of rules just to get what they want, and I've already seen people, in this topic, hint of using mults. They have large pools of accounts that any member of the "group" can log into. If one of those accounts gets banned it is not a big deal they just use another one. They rotate through all the accounts in order to earn crystals for all accounts. This way everyone has access to an m4 account with lots of supplies. Members of these groups don't do it for personal gain they do it for the group as a whole. Why? because they get satisfaction from being bullies. Is this what you all want to become? You can say you will only raid other groups of raiders but it will not stop there. The temptation to just steal from any battle you can will be too great and then you become the very players you hate. Being able to block a raid is one thing, but becoming raiders yourselves is another. Personally I feel that it is very inappropriate that members of Tanki Online staff are involved in this, I feel it sends a very poor message to younger players.
-
I disagree with this idea. We don't like being raided but yet we are now going to go and do it to others.
