valid Nerf the starfing ability of hovering hulls
Tidebreaker replied to mjmj5558 in Ideas and Suggestions
THANK YOU. Strafing, in its current form, allows to dodge shots much too easily, and this is without Crisis. With Crisis, a Hopper can sidestep literally any shot, and they are much more unpredictable in nature when compared to a normal tank on tracks. -
@Zackery459 = @Opex-Rah confirmed

@DaringDeer Out of curiosity....what augments are you currently using for your turrets and hulls?

2021 will be a wild year for the anime scene as a whole. You cannot change my mind.

8/9. Only got the Viking one wrong. Since I use Dictator quite often, I absolutely hate it when a Viking teammate takes the OD box in front of me, especially when on purpose. I've only met a smart Viking-Isida who saw me coming with Dictator once, and he made sure to leave it for me, which I gladly shared with him straight after. I always make sure to signal Vikings so that they gather around me when I do activate Dictator's OD. Alas, this doesn't happen 90% of the time, but one can only hope...

CTF was the worst MM mode to begin with, due to the overabundance of teammates who are unwilling to cooperate. Crisis and Hopper really just were the final nail in the coffin. PRO battle CTF? Sure! MM, no. I will continue to leave every single time. I don't want to sound obnoxious here, but you know what? Here's my take on it. Defender is a far, far bigger problem than Crisis. If you're abusing Defender, then you have absolutely no right to be complaining about Crisis. In its current form, way too high. Especially with Hopper's strafing speed - which should definitely not be this fast. Good luck hitting a shot on any Hopper Crisis who strafes to the side, because you're not.

Do you know what the biggest issue is? They're making single-fire turrets weaker and weaker, and splash turrets stronger and stronger. Hornet-Gauss, for instance, was ridiculous in Siege to begin with. And what has been done about it? Nothing. If anything, it's actually encouraged to use Hornet-Gauss as Hornet's AP ability is a perfect fit. Too perfect.

I highly recommend you get the Plasma Accelerator augment. It makes Twins reach very far, and has very good splash damage distribution. Pair it with a heavy hull, and you've got brutal assault capabilities.

I went up against one of those the other day. Had great fun in eliminating him. All it took was some good positioning from diagonally across the map...and then the shot.

What Drones Would You Like To Be Nerfed Or Buffed? And Why?
Tidebreaker replied to FRU1TY in Archive
- Defender's 30-second duration needs to go. I am utterly sick of it. "oH bUt iT wAs nErFeD" That's irrelevant if it lasts near infinitely now. - Booster has been nerfed enough, it's now very hard to sustain its usage. I'd call it more a turret/augment problem rather than a Booster problem (because currently there are many blatantly overpowered things), but I can see where you're coming from with this. - Lifeguard usage is next to nil in regular times. I don't see why it should be nerfed. I guess it could be reprogrammed to not activate upon self-destruct (such as meteor golds) and only upon actual fatal damage from people. - There are several things that ruin CTF these days. Saboteur is one of them. If you see a Saboteur user just mining everything on the other side of the map, there is absolutely no point to even try unless you can destroy them. It's not worth the time - just leave. - Crisis's Speed Boost ability is currently too high. This is especially evident on Hopper with its strafing ability, which allows people to dodge any shot near instantly. - Mechanic abuse in ASL is still too high. -
There's a good reason for that, and it's not popularity of the turret. It's the augments. How does a turret that can't twoshot a light hull go from one that can oneshot heavies? That can oneshot a light hull instantly and then reload faster than a Thunder? LCR and Scout, of course. These are the two augments that plague Tanki with its existence, and just look at the sheer amount of them. It's honestly quite sad that a turret earns such a bad reputation because of these OP augments. Naturally, people like me got tired of the LCR/Scout users, and got ourselves Railgun protection because we were sick of getting demolished by overpowered stuff, over and over and over again. Is this fair to the small subset of Railgun players, like me, who use Round Stabilization? No, not at all. I assure you, if there was a nerf to these augments, the amount of Railgun protections would go down drastically. It's just a shame that Railgun's reputation has to be stained in this way.

@Madao00 Here's two posts that may help you understand the situation better.
-
What it needs is for Gauss grace period (preferably, they simply switch). I don't see how it's fair to have Gauss both lock on quicker and be more generous while have Striker take much longer and lose its aim quicker.
-
@wolverine848 @Tokamak In that case, it probably needs a buff. The damage increase is simply underwhelming for the high price of the augment.
-
Alright. Imagine the regular damage without Adrenaline. Now, imagine the boosted damage through HP loss as an entirely new section. Combine them together When applying DD, you'd think that both get doubled and would become quite formidable, right? Nope. All that happens is that another "section" of your original base damage gets added on top of the damage, meaning that the Adrenaline bonus is only applied once, hence rendering DD pretty much useless. ?

HCAC > Armor-Piercing Shot > Slugger > Adaptive reload > Dragon's Breath > Adrenaline > Duplet. HCAC: I always used HCAC to begin with, even when it had all those downsides. There was also a time where you could pair HCAC with Slugger...which was awesome. Nowadays, it's the only turret augment that is a direct upgrade, and I cannot tell you how awesome this is. You have no downsides, and five shots in your clip, which can slaughter a whole team of attackers provided you use Hunter to stop them all in your tracks. It's necessary to learn the pellet spread, but that's actually quite easy to do in practice compared to its difficulty on paper. To this day, it's still my favorite augment. AP Shot: The duration is really powerful. I'd say this comes very close to HCAC, but the problem here is managing your shots straight after applying the effect, as you only have one chance to make it work as a result of the downtime. Slugger: I don't really need to go in depth here - everyone knows what it does and why it's popular. Adaptive reload: Retains the same accuracy and a tiny increase in reload for the chance to have infinite ammo as long as you manage damage well. Cannot be countered by Heat Immunity, which is exactly why Dragon's Breath pales in comparison. Dragon's Breath: Exactly the same clip reload penalty, and suffers against Heat augments. Nothing else to say here, really. Adrenaline: The Adrenaline augments are, as a whole, underwhelming due to a damage bug not allowing them to reach their full potential. This applies to Hammer as well. Duplet: Stay dead. No one liked how brokenly OP you were at the beginning of 2019.

Let's say you have 7 containers. After opening x5 once, there will be an option to open all the remaining ones. I haven't tried doing the same with 16-30 containers, but I think it should also let you open all the rest. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, however.

Good news - the search bar has been repaired!

In short, the horizontal aiming is slower than in Flash, while the vertical aiming tends to overshoot by a lot. You can't do the "inertia" trick that @TheCongoSpider taught me in Flash by simply turning the turret even when scoping so that you enter scope with maximum rotation speed as it forces you to completely stop all motion when scoping in. You click the up or down arrow once? Nope, it'll absolutely make sure you go from just above from what would have otherwise been a headshot, all the way just in front of the enemy tank. The reticle still feels clunky and very uncomfortable to use. Something about the FOV and the zoom still feels off. Would you like to play with something that has this many disadvantages? I played for the whole summer of 2019 with Light Capacitors in Flash, consistently making shots that would even make the best XP/BP players in TO history whistle at that picture-perfect accuracy. Now, I can barely hit a simple long-range shot, WHEN CAMPING. I really don't know what to say regarding this matter anymore. I was one of the first to point out this issue when the HTML client made its debut a year ago, and it makes me sad, disappointed, angry that the equivalent of nothing has been done to address this. I'm just exhausted. If they wanted me to switch to mouse so badly, fine. I just wish that they'd told us sooner that they had no intention to fix this, so that I wouldn't have to struggle as much as I am now. It's a shame, is it not? The sole EN Shaft-only clan in TO history couldn't even survive a year before getting absolutely demolished... I hope that they'll change their mind and decide to fix keyboard controls soon. If not, well... so be it.
-
In any case, it should not last 30 seconds. That's just way too long, plus any half-competent tanker can simply cycle supplies and have the effect permanently. People said that the nerf killed it. Far from it. I'd much rather go back to the 15 second duration.
-
If you think it's just XP/BP that's taken the hit, just take a look at how Shaft's scope was massacred for keyboard. It's near unusable now for the Flash players and actually encourages you to camp.
-
I forgot to mention that this is with Booster. Another thing I should probably mention is that this should be used primarily with Hunter's OD so that you can shut down multiple people at once.
-
HCAC was already amazing prior to this, but it's effectiveness now is at an all-time high. What's spectacular now is Cyclone. I don't even need to elaborate any further, it's literally the best thing right now.

Approved. A short and very sweet summary of the Halloween event. How can you argue with that? I loved how you remembered the past versions of the map - man do the memories flood back. Your structure is fantastic too, just answering the important questions and not getting sidetracked really is key after all. Edits: Quite a bit of grammar mistakes. See ya next time buddo.
