  1. Most of the time, the losers complain because they lost, whether it was fair or not. However, take a look at entries from me, Peace-Keeper-99 or arabiannoble and tell me if they were better than 3rd place. You may find yourself quite puzzled afterwards

    Some final words

Goodbye... You were amazing and have contributed so much to Tanki. Good Luck in real life
  3. Ok, I would quite like to hear the views of the other judges as to why they thought 3rd place was so good. As you mentioned his tactical knowledge, eSports knowledge, preparation and analysis are all very flawed, however it seems that the other judges can't be found anywhere.
  4. I doubt there will be any reversal on this though? Although there should be... What categories was this judged on?
  5. Thank you. I am saying that in most cases, experience lead to knowledge, especially in such a game as Tanki. Therefore, it should be taken into account, and the third entry most certainly lacked basic knowledge about the game which enabled them to provide a strong commentary...
  6. Experience should be considered, VERY highly. If 3rd place didn't even realise that the battle started at 10 minutes then how will he fair doing a stream. His experience was so low that it evidently hindered the quality of his entry. His lack of technical terms i.e. 'they've scored' (it's not a football match???) and 'SemGrand is battling jan007' (Which is ridiculously vague) I fail to see how he has been rewarded for a highly flawed entry that obviously almost every tanker (bar the judges it seems) thinks shouldn't have won.
  7. Also, DuckHonk was praised for his commentary, which is ok, it was good. But he was given a consolation prize for instant replays This is CLEARLY against the rule of not editing the video. Yet he is being praised for this... Hello???
  8. I really don't think that the judging for this was well done. I fail to see how my entry is beaten by some of the runner-up entries. I have a much better voice quality, and a lot of my content is better. Third place has a very limited knowledge of the game and is only saying it as it is. This shows a lack of insight which is what is needed to be a commentator. If a judge can outright prove that my entry is undeserving of at least I consolation prize, I will be gracious in defeat, but currently I see know appropriate reason. I'm pretty sure that the categories used for judging were incorrect and knowledge of the game and quality of voice weren't properly taken into account, something which is vital for a commentator.
  9. 64 Tanki-related names... one competition, one prize, one chance at glory... Oh wait, that's the Semi-Series... Let me find the other introduction 58 Tankers, one challenge, to talk for about eleven and a half minutes about some people fighting... one winner, one runner-up, one third-place, a couple of consolation prizes. Quite a few prizes actually... Not bad... But most of all, the chance to do this on a more regular basis with some other cool people... And crystals, quite a few crystals... Winner announced tomorrow, who will have glory? Good Luck all :D

    Let's Discuss Hammer!

I know that we're mostly passed the haters of this turret... But I do have a couple of stats that I took (a lot of) time to look over. If you compare Hammer to Railgun, Thunder and Smoky, you can see distinct advantages for Hammer. On average, it takes Hammer 6.2 seconds to dispatch a Hornet and 9.04 to dispatch a Viking. This doesn't sound too bad really. Then we look at Railgun. Railgun takes an average of 8.36 seconds to dispatch a Hornet and a full 12.2 seconds to kill a Viking. This is a very large gap, which makes 1 v 1 with Rail and Hammer unfair. The hammer always wins. Furthermore, the best Hammer protecting paint has only 40% Hammer whereas the best Railgun protecting paint has 46% protection. Therefore, this advantage grows. The only way for a Railgun to beat a hammer, is for it to use supplies or use a heavier hull. This is obviously an implication for any Railgun user. Looking at the stats for Thunder against Hammer, Hammer still has the advantage by around a second, and that isn't factoring in splash damage. Smoky, if we include critical hits, is also slower at dispatching tanks than Hammer, and also has a worse range and impact force. I hate to be a traditionalist, but perhaps we should make sure that all turrets have very similar base stats but do different things. This would ensure that tankers could only win through skill, judgement or timing of supplies. I know that this comment won't have a profound effect on the turret and gameplay etc. but perhaps take it into account when selecting equipment, or buying another turret.

    Your enemy in Tanki Online

Inspired by the 'best friend in TO' topic... I would like to know who your biggest enemy is (or perhaps a jokey one) Please don't insult anyone here, keep your grudges to yourself :P Mine has to be... well, if I told you, I'd have to kill you

    [Guide] Polygon XP/BP CP!

There are many P's in this format... But the match itself is simple enough. It happens in XP/BP Format (Rail with Wasp or Hornet for those who don't know) in a Polygon in CP mode. Not that difficult really. In my opinion is has become the latest fad, like when XP was starting up, or fire and wasp battles. However, these games are notorious for mults who are looking for the quite frankly frequent golds that drop. I made this guide because when I've played these matches, my team always seem to lose, and obvious trends are occurring as to why that is. This guide will make sure that you're not mistaken for one of these mults and that you can get the most out of not only the gold-hunting but the battle itself too. Rule 1: Getting the Point You are playing a CP match, therefore, should you not be trying to capture the point? Then why is it that 50% of the time you fail to see players actually going for the point. Even players who aren’t being inactive or waiting for the gold will just sit at the edge taking pot-shots. Therefore, my first rule is that in almost every circumstance, you should be going for the point. Already been hit once? Go for the point. Trying to snipe this annoying guy? Go for the point. Attempting to keep a spotless kill to death? That’s ok I suppose, HELL NO, go for the point! Too many players expect to be able to stay on the edge and still be able to win the battle despite not getting the point. It isn’t even like you get more xp when you camp at the edge. The last three matches I played, I won all of them despite getting a total of just 8 kills across all three battles. Your team can’t and won’t win if every player isn’t throwing themselves headlong into the middle. So, if you want to get xp, or to get a reward at the end of the battle, I implore you to follow this first, most simple and obvious rule. Go for the point! Rule 2: Keep the point: So, using Rule 1, you’ve taken the point (yay!) but there isn’t any time for celebrations. What are you going to do now? Again, using logic I can tell you that as it’s a CP, you need to make sure you keep the control point. The most common thing I see my teammates doing once they’ve got the point is leaving the point. They think that now the point has been taken, the action will happen elsewhere. Trust me, it won’t. Your enemy’s next most likely move is to try to recapture the point; therefore, the point will be the place to be! I suppose that staying just outside the point (around the edges of the centre) is alright, as you can easily re-join the centre, but the best thing to do is stay where you are. If you really don’t want to die, remember the hiding hole in the middle, just stick in there, make sure you are still connected to the point and take some shots at invading enemies. Using this rule, your team should be able to rack up the points against the enemy team. Even if you die, the likelihood is that you’ve marginally slowed down the enemy team, which can’t be a bad thing in the end. So, once you’ve got the point, keep the point! Rule 3: On the subject of tipping After the most recent update, it may have become harder to tip players, but it is still possible. Therefore, you must know what to do when you are tipped. One must remember that when you play XP in a non-XP map and in a different format, most of the rules basically go out the window. In a normal XP game, you should never kill a tipped enemy, but the rules are slightly bended in this situation. Essentially, if an enemy is tipped anywhere outside of the point, don’t kill them; and if you’re tipped outside the point, self-destruct a.s.a.p. However, if an enemy has been tipped and is still connected to the point, you have two options. Option 1: Kill them; they would only slow down your taking of the point or aid the enemy team capturing. Option 2: Push them off of the point. This means that they can’t aid or hinder attacks, but also have to take longer to be able to get back into the game. This small decision doesn’t really have much of an impact on the game so don’t dilly-dally when making a decision. If you’ve been tipped but are still connected to the point, I advise that you don’t take any chances and so self-destruct. However, if you are in a profitable situation (i.e. you are stopping the enemy team from capturing), then hang on in there as long as possible. You’ll probably just get accidentally killed in the chaos anyway! A couple of other things… Don’t stand behind or next to a teammate so that you can be killed simultaneously. Try not to enter into small 1 v 1 situations, you’re just wasting your time over one kill If you’re lagging badly, just get out. There’s no point in even trying. Drive towards the centre as soon as you spawn, but you can perhaps take a shot at an enemy on the way. I hope you’ve learnt something from my guide which should help you to get the most of these matches. But remember, these are high fund, high gold dropping and high speed battles, so have fun! See you on the battlefield! mcmonkey25
  19. Yay, I have a 1.69% chance of winning (theoretically) :)
  20. This will be controversial, you missed the deadline by over 30 mins, unfortunately that probably means it won't count...

    Sale - Hulls v.s. Turrets

There are no decent hulls that I don't already have which are accessible to me after my most recent rank up... But I would quite like M3 Smoky
  23. mcmonkey25

    Misspelled word

I think that it is spelt correctly... Not only can you 'access' the situation in a battle, i.e. see it, but you can also 'assess' it, i.e. analyse your position etc, which is probably what they mean here.
