Two important reasons: Flash player is a dead end ánd they want to bring Tanki with Unity to mobile devices. If they can make the controls work??? I believe they will strike Gold. My suggestion: no supplies would already mean 5 buttons less: I know I would love that! :P There are not many tablet games that are so good as Tanki is. You got to have quite a big screen though IMO, I suppose it would really work on a 7 inch and larger. Tanki on my Nexus 7..... For the Linux users I hope they have the time and patience (it is beta, so Unity is testing it already) to wait till Unity supports Linux too!

I do like some healthy self-mockery... :D But you did quite well I thought, the least I can say is: you show great promise! B)

You having the Thunder M2 before SmokTT? Darn, don 't you dare! :D I totally agree on the useless 5% 's on the Cedar. They even did not exist anymore in my thoughts. YOU reminded me of them... ;) You have some good points there regarding the Freeze part of the Rustle. It is the only "in between paint" that still has my attention. The Isida part is off less importance, still 10% is also "something". Not convinced yet, still doubting. Edit: I made up my mind, just stick with Cedar on SmokTT: one decadent account and one "poor" account. A nice mix! One year with only the Thunder M1? That is not really a punishment: the gun is simply versatile, engaging, thrilling, etc..... Imagine one year with the Isida...... Well, lets both wish for the 50%...soon!

The "big" Hunter M2 question: Well I really do not know how a Hunter M2 performs in a CTF or TDM. Though I can imagine it will do a fine job there, that is: IF the Tanker uses the speed and takes full benefit of the quite good small battleshape (though it is still a centered turret) it has. When it comes to DM 's I do have a grounded view on the Hunter M2, and it is not positive. Viking M2 unlocks two ranks later, but is a much better tank in DM and stays so till FieldMarshall when the Hunter at M3 reaches his pinnacle. And yes I did fight both of them already many times (do own Viking M2 's) and the Hunter M2 in DM 's simply fails miserably. Even a Hornet M2 with close-range weapons does a better job than the Hunter M2 does in DM.

You are right about still having to choose between Prodigi and Emerald, but it is quite a different story from the choice between a Cedar or Tundra in my case. I really like Tundra but as a Thunder player I do not need it. There is no Thunderprotection in Tundra, so even in a Map that is crowded with Railers you will still miss that other crucial protection. I had many fights that afterwards I felt the outcome would have been the same or even better with Cedar, despite the Railshots I did survive. So it is always a choice with a lot of uncertaintity. Tundra may be usefull with another combo in the future, but for now I would have also preferred to only own Cedar. The difference is that Prodigi and Emerald do both have Thunderprotection. I MU 'd the one from Prodigi to 33%. The Emerald is at 46%. Prodigi has a huge Rail-protection but the MU 'd 14% of the Emerald has it 's value too! It is just a matter of time and MU-crystals that will make the balance shift more and more towards Prodigi, but if in the future the rare Twin that doesn 't drug does dare to raise his ugly head :P in a Pro Battle, the Lord will get him with Emerald! (when we can swap our equipment during a battle) Revilo, you were talking about maybe getting Rustle or Digital and afaik you always or almost always play with Thunder-Viking? Than I advice you not to go for Digital, no Thunderprotection in it: so you would create the "Tundra or Cedar question" as well! Rustle could be a choice, but are you convinced about the freeze protection? Do you think it does help? Please your view on it. Some players are a big fan of Rustle and even prefer it above Emerald. Is it because they just have it or is is it really that good? In my view you can save a lot of crystals by just sticking with your probably already MU 'd Cedar. I know I do with Smok-Ti-Thun, most of the times I do choose Cedar, only in large maps I choose Tundra. No need for Rustle or even Emerald for that sake, if you have the dirt cheap but excellent MU 'd Cedar. I will stick with it on SmokTT and see how far it can go! Are you really going to buy the Thunder M2 at full price? I am a buyer, but believe me I never would. Multiple accounts is my answer to the problem of "discount-waiting". I will rank pretty soon to Captain with SmokTT and than he may rest for a while. ;) Hopefully not for too long!

To proof that Tundra is still a good paint I took it to the Industrial Zone. Found plenty of drugging Gens there. Why not drug back? So I did, and did good with my Thunder M1.... still they kept calling me a noob!!! :D Those guys with zero points were parkouring btw. The picture of my beautiful Tundra paint unfortunately got ruined by the rude Firebird. Sorry for that! ;)

True, it is nearly impossible to earn those 300k crystals by just playing the game. If you do not want and/or simply can 't buy the Medium M2 kit than that is just a reality. And also to get the equipment the "normal" way is something I honestly admire. B) Told my own reasons before, not of real interest in this subject. But to imply that the Medium M2 kit itself is not that good and/or a waste of crystals? Hmm...lets see: Number one: you get the Thunder M2 only one rank earlier, agreed not much of a benefit there: 0 - 0 Number two: you get the Viking M2 three ranks earlier: shocking? Nope, but it is a benefit that lasts three pretty long ranks: 0.5 - 0 Number three: you get the Sandstone: pretty useless paint in this kit for sure, still costs you crystals: 0 - 1 (darn!) Number four: you get the Emerald paint six ranks earlier: Nice paint, much nicer than Rustle IMO because I myself do not believe in Freeze protection at all. Only delays the inescapable end. Twins protection of the Emerald has a bit more use, but I admit is not that great either. Best protection from Twins is to keep a distance: if possible.... Rustle has added Firebird protection, Emerald added Rail protection. Always been a Forester-fan: nuf said! :) Emerald simply is the strongest Thunder-paint right from the start. It could save you quite some crystals...how? To get the 32% of the Rustle to the basic 42% of the Emerald will cost you the nice amount of 42.613 crystals! Hé, in a certain way I earned back that useless Sandstone I had to buy for 41.250: nice! Besides this Emerald can be MU 'd further if wanted: 1 - 0 Number five: you get the Prodigi paint nine lóóóóng ranks earlier: Formidable paint! Very good protection against all long-range turrets except the Smoky. Can live with that, because Smoky is all about the Crit. No Crit, you can survive and fight back, get a Crit and your more or less toast. Prodigi for me simply combines two formidable and much earlier obtainable paints: Cedar and Tundra! I dearly love those paints and use them all the time with Smok-Ti-Thun and will continue to do so, but simply hate the fact I always have to choose between them. No longer so with Prodigi! Or does someone really believe that for example fighting in Desert with Prodigi is the same as with just a Cedar or a Tundra??? Even better, the occassional Shaft gets a bit of a Dirty paint treatment from the Prodigi as well. Firebird-protection...hmm ok... On top of that Prodigi can be MU 'd to incredible heights, though at the cost of many crystals. On the other hand you can spare crystals too, because there is absolutely no need for any in between paint-solution. Every earned crystal can go into microupgrading this superb paint. Together with Picasso this was my dream paint. Do not dream of Picasso anymore! (Only from his real paintings.) Because this paint is that good I like to give it an extra score of 2, but decided to cool it down a bit ;) : 1.5 - 0 Endscore in favor of the Medium M2 kit, a questionable: 3 - 1 (If some still think it is just a 0 - 0.... well, can 't make someone turn his blind eye, isn 't it? :D)

Nothing wrong with Flash Player but it is at the end of its lifespan and possibilties. Adobe will eventually stop supporting it and so it is time to look further. Much better to do a transition now, than to wait till the last possible moment and risk the chance of getting obsolete yourself. TO, good choice!

Nice those double funds! Just had a two hour fight in a 999 Polygon DM. Entered the battle when the number one had +/- 200 kills to go. Never seen such a high battlefund before! (in my own fights, that is). Normally I do not play anymore against my own ranks with the OP equipment I own, but I 'm not a complete saint ;) and the battlefund was like a devil that was luring me in. Simply couldn 't resist! M2 Freezers gave me a lot of trouble, strong opponents. Happy with the crystals, because I was at zero: did some MU 'ing on the Emerald and Prodigi. Worthwhile but expensive though. The number one (Hornet-Rail) must have been really happy ánd exhausted.... B)
-
OMG....Sin City....
-
I will try not to. In which country do you live?
-
M2 Thunder will make a difference for sure, wish you as quick ranking as possible! And I do not know the MU% of Thunder of your Cedar, but investing in it is worth while. Emerald is merely a more expensive Cedar. The only thing that Cedar really lacks in comparison is the Twins protection. The Railgun-component of the Emerald?....doesn 't do a lot IMO at higher ranks. Avoid Twins infested battles and you 'll be fine. Well thinking about it: it is really advisable to always avoid close encounters with (the almost always drugging) Twins! :D And Revilo don 't ever forget you would be a much better player than you already are, if you would have had more time to play. Don 't know if that helps, but it 's a fact. I will be playing less TO also soon, because after a four years break I 'm going to pick up an old time-consuming sport which is all about: ripstop cloth, lines, thermals, winch, collapses, harnass, vario, mountains, altitude, safety, glide ratio and angle of attack....of which the latter is also important in TO. There is a life outside TO: I am not sure though how I am going to survive the temporary shut-down on the 24th of February...

(never explain a joke).....most of the time we Dutch guys are not aware of the Dutch nationality of the other players. We mostly use English nicknames etc. This thread about TO moving to a data center in the Netherlands, does ofcourse attract Dutch Tankers and most of them tell in their post that they are Dutch, something they normally wouldn 't do so quickly. So if you only look at this thread it gives the illusion that there are more Dutch than English players in the TO community. While in reality there are ofcourse more English players. Get it now? :)
-
Did you really think I was serious??? Well, that is funny! :)
-
For all Tankers: welcome in our country! (welkom in ons land) To be really our guest you first really should learn some Dutch language: Nice Dutchmen - Aardige Nederlanders I love Holland - Ik hou van Holland Holland is the best - Holland is de beste I have the deepest respect for the Dutch - ik heb het diepste respect voor de Nederlanders I wish I also could live in Holland - ik wilde dat ik ook in Holland kon wonen We all like the Dutch - wij houden allemaal van de Nederlanders Holland is the most beautiful country in the world - Holland is het mooiste land van de wereld Well, that will do for now. Keep studying! :D
-
Wow, this day I 've found out that almost the whole English community happens to be Dutch! ;)
-
Well, you are just at the start of your carreer: so it 's ok by me. Smok-Ti-Thun is actually not longer the guy to speak to, lets say he is on special leave (pension). By the way I do like the way you know your stuff: it 's good to be well informed! About Dictator-Rail: if you are able to make it work, than it 's a very good combo. Dictator is not an easy tank though, but if it works for you: good luck!
-
Ok, thanks for clearing that. :) "I am more annoyed at the people with no skill who buy a kit and then drug, just to rub it in that they are lucky enough to get a powerful tank (that they can't use)": yep, spot on! (only exception in my eyes would be a very young player with a kit but no skill: unfortunately this kit (and/or drugs) will definitely not help him/her to become a better player...) p.s. the last sentence you wrote, can directly be returned to you as well... B) Just had a nice battle with good ol' Smok against druggers: kill 'm all! ;) Last one, want to rank to get the Rico M2. discount 25% is not really good, but yeah... Really heavy drugsbattle, Smokies and one-shot Railers and Shaft. Still fun!
-
Nope. As long as the Dutch players, starting from the 24th of Februari, are treated with the utmost respect and kindness, there is absolutely nothing to worry about! :D
-
Well, really happy with the choosen location! I was already hoping for it! (ok, I live in the Netherlands myself and it 's nice to see the other Dutchy 's here being happy too.... ;) ) But believe me I have a lot of faith that it will really be an improvement for the whole Tanki community. The Netherlands are rapidly becoming a main-hub for data. Main reason (taken out of this article : http://www.nfia.nl/nl_news/685/The-Netherlands-is-emerging-as-a-data-center-country.html) "The superior infrastructure. The Netherlands is one of the most densely cabled countries in the world. The more than seventy carriers connected to the AMS-IX ensure reliable and fast connections within the Netherlands, and to the rest of the world." There are already many huge data centers located in Holland and great players like Microsoft and Apple are planning huge data centers in Holland. To put it simply: very big players that demand reliability! Just Google for it. So welcome to our country (and NO: we don 't wear wooden shoes anymore! ) and I hope our country will make good "connections"!

It is certainly possible, but I wanted the kit as soon as possible and that was right at the start of my current rank. I did not pay the full amount, because I already had earned quite some crystals with mainly battles. Well let 's assume we have a tanker who has 60k in the garage. Many do have such an amount I suppose. He/she spends 41.97 US dollars, so he gets 60k plus 60k "for free". So 120k crystals is what you get without the bonus card. With the bonus card this 120k doubles to 240k crystals. With the 60k he already had, he now has enough to buy a kit of 300k crystals. For 42 US dollars and the double bonus card you get 240.000 crystals. So if you have some savings, in my view a kit is not completely out of reach. The question is probably more: do you want to spend money on TO or rather on something else?
-
Revilo, not my intention to annoy you or others: the Lord will always use spoilers, so in the future it could be an option not to look at what is hidden underneath? About crystals for money: you are still studying and I already have a profession. So all tanker have different (financial) situations. Don 't know if you make a point if you buy the kit ;) , but it 's worth it even without a point. Only the Sandstone in it has no real use compared to the Emerald and Prodigi paint. All the kits are too OP more or less. None of them should IMO be unlocked before you have the proper rank for each particular equipment. So the Medium M2 kit should only be available at Lieutenant Colonel. To make the kit attractive they should give the option to choose one or two paints that you prefer within a certain bandwidth according to the M? upgrade you are buying. So only if you buy a M3 kit, you can make your choice between the best and most expensive paints. But also at M2 you could buy paints that are normally far out of your reach. TO could also do something with free Micro-Upgrade steps to make a kit more attractive. That would still make people buy kits because of the huge discount of 50% at the time of your liking, but would avoid the "unbeatables" that are being created right now. If with this Medium M2 kit I were to go to battles from my own rank and below, it would already be completely unfair towards the other non- or few-drugging players. If I would use 24/7 drugs on top of the kit: well not hard to imagine. what that would mean. So it might sound like a paradox, but in a perfect TO-world I actually would prefer no product kits at all. Unfortunately the TO-world is not perfect: only one thing comes close and that is a Pro battle. You need at least M2 equipment and a proper paint to be capable enough to enter them: I rest my case... :)
-
Did not buy a pass yet, but received an one day Pro Battle pass so I took advantage of it. To battle: nice but not easy, no just hard. These players had M3 equipment and plenty of skills. Been in some drug battles with Viking M2 - Thunder M1 against Gens which were "easier" as a non-drugger than these ones without any supplies. Managed to do a lot of steal-killing there: they steal-killed from me in this Pro Battle! :) Not many DM 's this evening. So I sticked with a Polygon DM and did three runs. This was my best run in Polygon DM: Found another one, luckily it went easier this time: plenty of Hornets! :) The Firebirds were the hardest to fight: they have a far reach and you 're well-done in seconds. Kolhoz was a new map for me, nice! Ofcourse happy with the result of these first Pro Battles. Earning back the 5000 crystals for a pass should be no issue, hopefully with some improvement I will even earn some crystals.
-
No, I am happy with it. Smok will be replaced with the Lord. So next time you will be talking to the Lord himself. Smok will not be completely gone, but will have his use for certain tasks. My main account wil be LotS, because I even spend more money (yes a buyer, I know) and bought the Medium M2 kit. With which I am going straight into the Pro Battles. So I am contributing some money on TO itself, which is a good thing of buying: without cash no game. Do not have to thank me though.... ;) And by going Pro I am not interfering with normal battles with for my rank OP equipment and paints. No its the contruary: I will be the one with nooby stuff! Nice though, I like a though DM fight and at least on this Lord account I will be cleared from druggers: free at last! :)

Thunder M0 is not the best gun to start your carreer. If you want to play the skill-demanding Thunder a good path IMO is: first you take Smoky M0, very cheap gun. ;) Zero crystals but not that good either, but you learn to shoot well with it. Lots of shots and easy aiming. Than you take the M1 upgrade of Smoky. This is a real gemstone! OP at his ranks and the ideal practice gun! No problem to get to WO4 and Thunder M1 with this little wonder. When you are WO4 get the Thunder M1 (discount) but keep it in the garage for now. Still you are ready to play with Thunder, but first the M0. Sam is right though: Thunder M0 is "not that good", but if you take Thunder M0 on a practice account after a long time playing with Smoky M1, you can make this gun work! And you better do, because you can go Thunder M1 at once, but than you are not in a "healthy" environment to learn how to deal with Thunder. If you start from zero again, you got all the time to make mistakes and your opponents will not be as skilled as they will be at WO4. So you will learn fast and quick. If you understand the Splash damage and you can make it work, only than go to battle with the Thunder M1. Congratulations, because now you have a very OP weapon at WO4+ ánd it is now in skilled hands. Time for Thunder M1 havoc on the battlefield! Good luck!
