9 Tanki Online Myths That Must Be Brought to Attention

9 Tanki Online Myths That Must Be Brought to Attention - A seldom realization in the world of Tanki Online is that there are many myths that people believe, perhaps without even questioning whether they're true. Of course I do not plan to reveal all of the myths, but the main, unnoticed ones. Shafts Are Noobs - This is a myth which is quite ironic. Shaft-users seem to be the most accused of being "noobs". Perhaps this is because shafts are very, very powerful, and can be extremely annoying, thus causing anger. The truth is, Shafts are not noobs, and are truly tactical when used correctly. Think about the definition of noob: "A person who is inexperienced in a particular sphere or activity." Therefore, the good Shaft-users are just the opposite of "noobs". On the other hand, however, the Shaft-users that aren't very clever, and roam into the middle of the battlefield, completely misusing their scope, can be categorized as noobs. This myth ties in with another one that is quite similar: good tankers are noobs. Good Tankers Are Noobs - It's quite ironic, really. Experienced, tactical players are constantly considered "noobs". The main component contributing to the name-calling of "noob" is probably this: A tanker is killed. He feels uncomfortable, angry, and extremely aggravated. In an attempt to get the experienced tanker back, he calls him a noob; trying to make him feel discouraged, mad, or less happy about himself. Or, it could just be a word to express anger. Basically, the motive for calling someone a noob, is probably the same motive for cursing, or name-calling. Next time you have the urge to call someone a noob, just don't say anything, and keep your anger to yourself. It will actually cause you to benefit, and make you more mature. Administrators Drop Gold Boxes - Surprisingly, this is actually a very common myth. Tankers constantly ask admins for Gold Boxes in the in-game chat. Sometimes, a tanker may claim that he asked for a Gold Box, and an admin granted his request. The truth is, the chance for a Gold Box to drop is 1/7000 for every crystal added to the battle fund. Therefore, Gold Boxes drop randomly, and have nothing to do with administrators or moderators. Semyon Kirov Is A Developer - Semyon Kirov is constantly praised and criticized for updates, asked to implement ideas, and challenged about updates, designs, and ideas. The truth is, Semyon Kirov is not a developer. He is a community manager for Tanki Online. This means he represents the game, reveals updates, oversees Tanki's forums and blogs, etc. Developers Don't Care About The Community- This myth definitely must be brought to attention. People think the devs don't care about the community. Devs are accused of paying no attention to the community, and that they just update the game at random times, trying to make the game better at their own discretion. The truth is, the devs care a great deal about the community. The fact that updates are changed and altered according to the community's feedback is often excused. They are constantly creating new ways to make Tanki a better game for the world. I advise you to take a look at this page: http://en.tankiforum...?showtopic=1233 Yes, those are all updates and contests that the developers have worked on over the years. That is dedicated work to make Tanki Online a better game for everyone. So, do you really think they don't care about the community? Using Supplies Is "Bad" - Unfortunately, many people are drawn into the myth that using supplies in Tanki Online is disrespectful, used without skill, unethical, and utterly wrong. Using supplies, also known as "drugging", is hated immensely on Tanki Online. Why? Well, personally, I think the reason is linked with the noob-calling; tanker #1 drugs, tanker #2 dies, tanker #2 is mad. I really believe this is the root of supply-hating. The irony of it all is that almost all of the tankers that hate others using supplies... use supplies. The truth is, using supplies is ultimately one of the most strategic aspects of Tanki Online. Hitting one of those numbers at the right time could determine the outcome of an entire battle. In all seriousness, you should definitely use supplies if you want to have fun, rank faster, win more battles, and be a better player. If you don't use supplies, you're missing out on one of the most important parts of the game! Raredust Is Terrible At Tanki - Hehe..... yeah... Parkour Is Too Hard - Many people don't do parkour because they believe it is too hard and/or complicated. They believe there's no way they could do anything "awesome" anyway. What's the point of even trying? The truth is, parkour is actually very simple. I'm not much of a parkourist myself, but when I do some parkour with or without my friends, it's really fun! Parkour is so basic that some tanker, at one time or another, will end up doing a parkour trick in a real battle. It's very easy to flip, roll, "jump", climb, etc. Now of course, the level of parkour ranges from extremely basic to extremely difficult, but you fit on the chart, somewhere. Just grab one of your friends, and come up with a goal. Or lay some mines and fly with each other. Or grab a few of your friends and try harder feats. Or just go by yourself, and flip off of buildings and such. Parkour, basic or complicated, is extremely fun! Go try it! Tanki Online Is Going Down - This myth is a little sad. It's sad that people really quit Tanki (such a fun game), because they believe that it's gone too far "downhill", and that it's not fun anymore. They really quit because Tanki's not "what it once was". The truth is, Tanki Online really isn't what it once was. It's better. Tanki Online is growing rapidly. There are added strategies and tactics, hulls and turrets, designs and effects, systems and searches, maps and battle types, physics and bug fixes. The list is ongoing! Tanki may not be the same for you as it was before, but things change. It may be hard to adapt to changes in Tanki Online, but when you do, you may find that they're better. __________________________________________________________________________________ Of course, these are only a few, popular myths. There are many other rumors that take control of tankers minds. Beware, and make sure you're not believing something that doesn't make sense. This applies to real life too! Good luck. -

It scares me that I learned so much from an article for beginners...

Problems - Lag - This is a very consistent, irritating occurrence. Especially for people who have a slow internet. Boredom - We all know that Tanki Online is very fun, diverse, and has a significant amount of variety. But we also know that it can become repetitive; especially in long battles. Trolls - Unfortunately, people take this truly amazing game, and use it as an opportunity to troll. They can cause a team to lose a battle or to become handicapped. They're also just downright annoying! Confusion - I feel that Tanki Online is very easy to control, but I believe it also lacks instruction. I feel like new gamers have a hard time figuring out all of the aspects of the game. Though this problem is not too serious, I feel like small improvements can aid people significantly. Solutions - Lag - I would replace the current servers with stronger, more advanced servers. Of course this would cost money. Therefore, I would focus on making Tanki Online more popular, encourage tankers to buy crystals, and devise ways for the company to earn the needed money (e.g. through advertisements). Boredom - Well, personally, I would make Tanki Online even more diverse than it already is. This would include adding game modes, such as survival, racing, tag, crystal hunting, etc. It would also include achievements, miscellaneous updates, more intricacy, etc. Note that these changes would be done gradually. Trolls - I would focus on adding a kick system, strict rules, and more moderators. Trolls are serious problems, and should be a priority. Confusion - To fix this problem, I would add instructions and indicators. For example, if you move your mouse cursor over a symbol, the symbol would be explained. Problems and Solutions: Final words - Please note that I, personally, don't think that there are problems that are very crucial in Tanki Online. Undoubtedly, it is an amazing game, lacking major problems. It is definitely worth participation, for anyone. Future changes in Tanki Online - Tanki Online is a wonderful game. Personally, I feel like there aren't any essential changes that should be done to it. I would, however, focus on continuing to add entertaining updates. I would also focus on making it even more popular, and promoting methods for the company to earn more money. Tanki Online's Popularity - Personally, I feel like Tanki Online is going in the right direction. Nobody can argue; it is growing rapidly, and people love the game. What I would do in the future to increase it's popularity even further, would be to put it on more gaming sites and other websites. I would also advertise it immensely. Another priority would be to notably encourage tankers to tell others about the game. All of these methods of spreading Tanki's popularity would keep it growing, and help the company earn more money. I sincerely believe, that with the right decisions, Tanki Online can become one of the greatest and most popular games in the world.

Took a little while. She eventually cooperated. :P Upvote this post for her. Geyser - This is a short/mid-range turret. It sprays a very powerful stream of water at it's opponents, thus earning it the name, Geyser. Water doesn't damage tanks, you say? Well, because of the manually added energy to it's ammunition, Geyser affects it's opponent with impact force, and damage. This turret is suitable with all hulls, but is most commonly suited with medium hulls, especially Starwing. Just keep in mind, Geyser's powerful jet of energized liquid will have to reload! Starwing - This medium-sized hull is loved by many, especially... guinea pigs... Starwing is very unique in that it's front side has many, many plates of armor, while it's back side has very few plates of armor. Because of this, you will want to keep the back side of the Starwing protected, while taking advantage of its robust front side. When used correctly, Starwing can be a very, very tactical hull! It's original name was "Крыло Ангела", which means "Wing of the Angel". It later developed it's current and most beloved name, Starwing. Starwing is suitable with all turrets, but many love the appearance and effectiveness of this hull mounted with Geyser. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ P.S. I know this doesn't look like a tank at all, but, remember, thekillerpenguin said, "I'm mostly looking for design here". That's my excuse. :P

Orange words showed up in the sky. You know what they said. If you don't, then you don't deserve to know. Suddenly, about ten other tankers showed up. My buddies sort of shrugged and drove off, but I raised my left eyebrow and smirked. I swallowed my spit, tucked in my shirt, and advanced toward the drop zone. Then... she fell. Oh, she was a beaut. I proceeded under her, staring at the sky, drueling all over the inside of my great-grandma's tank. (Thank heavens for toilet paper.) I inhaled, then exhaled, as her gold edges grazed my tank like an angel's wing. I actually had her. I thought about everything that I could do with her... But, then... I... I just... Word count - 125

In the video of the week, I wonder if the Hornet + Firebird caught the box with skill or luck. (No sarcasm intended.) Nice V-Log, as always.
