Contest [Issue 28] Continue the Story! [Chapter 3]
Raredust replied to Pathfinder in Newspaper Archive
Part 3: Crisis Questions invaded my mind. What happened to Boris? Why did the Germans kill Dragovitch and not me? What would Boris do to me? Was this the end? I knew one thing for sure; whatever the Germans did to him, I couldn't let them do to me. Boris pulled me into the room. I didn't try to defend myself, obeying all of the orders he instructed me. He sat me down as one of the Germans shut the metal door. I kept thinking; Boris wouldn't do this to me, after all we've been through, he just wouldn't. I didn't let myself believe that he could. Suddenly, I heard gunshots coming from outside the room. The two men opened the metal door and started shooting down the stairs. Other Germans, seemingly from out of thin air, joined the two and assisted them. I looked at Boris, who ran to the door and shut it. He quickly walked toward me. "What are you doing?!" He said with slight anger. "More importantly, what are you doing?" I quickly said back. "Long story, right now we have to get out of here!" Confusion took over my body, and more questions fluttered through my head every second that went by. I had to trust him, there was nothing else to do. I swiftly obeyed and followed him. He hastily led me to a wooden door that I didn't see before and charged through it. I quickly glanced through a window that we were passing. Havoc. Havoc was the only thing in sight. But again, this is war. I looked back in front of me and followed Boris down an individual stairway. I started to hear additional gunshots; we had to get out of there immediately. Suddenly, a devastating explosion, that seemingly took place only a few feet away, threw Boris and I into the air. I landed correctly, but Boris landed in a very vulnerable position. Boris yelled over the explosions, "I'm okay, I'm okay! This building's gonna fall apart! We have to get out right now!" He took a few seconds to get back on his feet, then we kept sprinting down the stairs. We grew closer to the bottom, when suddenly I heard a deep and familiar voice howl in pain. I immediately knew, it was Boris. I glanced at him on his back. His eyes were shut and mouth open from pain, his right leg bleeding. He had been shot. "Just go! Get out!" He insisted. I couldn't leave him, something within kept me from doing so. I tried to think, think harder than I ever had in my life at what to do. I looked up, and saw what looked like part of a story of the building falling apart. I looked back at Boris, then back up. Time was running short, and I was stumped. -
The Day of Dread The deep of the night surrounds my soul Wisps of wind haunt the eerie region. Shadows of tanks fade across the wintry ground All joys and healings are no longer shared. Yes, that day, when distrust unrolls; The day when surroundings lie. All hope seems lost, and depression roams Happiness is controlled by pains and cries. Oh yes, that day, we hope will decay. Each year without fail, our lives are cursed. To bear it is the only available option, Oh yes, that day, October 31st.

This is simple. Just comment below anything you want, and try to get more upvotes/likes OR downvotes/dislikes than anyone else. It can be a screenshot, a phrase, a poem, a word, anything. You'll probably want to comment on the first page so that more people will see it. One winner will have the most upvotes/likes, and another winner will have the most downvotes/dislikes. (I say "winner", but this will probably never end, so...)

Contest [Issue 27] Continue the Story! [Chapter 2]

Chapter 2 - A disturbing panic took over my body. I hastily ran up the concrete stairs as I heard Boris yelling in sheer pain. I saw the slightly open door and kicked it open. For one moment, I thought about how big of a mistake I just commited. I thought about how my life was ending and how short it was as two middle-aged men stared me in my sweaty, pale face. Immediately I tried to slam the door shut, but it was so old and rusty that it fell off its hinges onto me, knocking me down. Rapid rounds of gunfire that seemed to singe my hair flew by me as I scurried off the floor and jumped onto a section of the stairwell. If the men wanted to kill Boris, they would've. They were either torturing him, or trying to get information out of him. I couldn't leave him there. I had to get him out. I heard vibrating thumps above me as I slowly crept back up the stairs. I stealthily peeked into the room with my rifle in my hand. I saw Boris struggling with one of the men, but the other man was not in the room. I instantly knew he was after me as I quickly glanced to my right. I saw him, aiming a pistol at my face. Instinctively, I turned my rifle toward him and shot. My shot hit his hand so he interjected and dropped his pistol. I quickly aimed the back of my rifle at him and hit him in the head, knocking him unconscious. Suddenly, I noticed that I couldn't hear out of my left ear. There was a severe pain coming from it. I nervously felt it and looked at my hand. It was boldly red, completely drenched with blood. The man must've shot me right before I shot him. The pain rapidly became more and more severe. I looked back at Boris being tormented by the man. Then I looked down on the floor to quickly retrieve my rifle. Terror swept through my body as the rifle was not on the ground. I ran to the stairway and saw the brown rifle at the bottom of it, appearing tiny from my viewpoint. Then I ran to the man's black, rusty pistol on the floor. I picked it up, cocked it, and aimed it at the man on top of Boris. The man swiftly looked at me, jumped off of Boris, and lunged at me. Immediately I pulled the trigger, but was momentarily filled with utter despair, for the gun was empty. The man grabbed me and slammed me into the wall. I fell on the floor, my eyes half-closed. He went back for Boris as he saw him trying to escape. I was shocked when I saw Boris run to the window and jump out of the building. The man ran to the window and almost fell out himself. He caught himself and sprinted out of the room, leaving behind me and all of his and the other man's possessions. As I dizzily lay on the hard, cold floor I heard shooting, yelling, explosions, and tanks. My ear was still pouring blood and my body was still aching from being slammed into the wall. Thinking about all of the current happenings, I drifted to sleep... -

I'm a little confused. Why so many downvotes? I mean, this is better than nothing... -
What did the carpet say to the floor? Nothing, carpet can't talk. What did the man say to the talking horse? "We're gonna be famous."

Good point. I guess I picked the spot that I picked because when I'm there, usually only a couple/few people are there with me and when they try to come up the ramps, I block them by pushing them right before they can get into the air. Maybe sometime I could even end up on top of them. But you're right, tanks can definitely come up the ramps and push you or get on top of you. I also understand that there are two other spots where Gold falls, but I picked the center because (I think) most of the crystal boxes drop there.

RareTip - Where Should You Be When a Gold Box Drops?
Raredust replied to Raredust in RareTip - Where Should You Be When a Gold Box Drops? Archive
Where Should You Be When a Gold Box Drops? Gold Boxes... probably the hottest topic in Tanki Online. Everyone talks about them and everyone hopes for them. We all know one thing... We want them! A question that doesn't come up very often but is actually pretty important is: exactly where on each map should you be when it drops? I intend to try to answer this question. I'll start out by giving suggested places to be on popular maps in this topic, and then I'll make more topics for other maps. NOTICE: Before you move on, I'd just like you to be sure to remember that these are just my opinions on where you should be on each map. Just ideas. You'll probably disagree with some of them, but that's perfectly fine with me. Opinions won't always be agreed on. Something else I'd like you to keep in mind is to remember that some of these places can easily be inconsistent when catching Gold, particularly on maps where they drop at zones where catching them is pretty much all luck. Also, where you should be will always depend on where the enemy is. For example, you shouldn't be out in the open in Polygon. The more obvious you are, the bigger chance you'll have of being attacked! Combe: Esplanade: Highland: Noise: Polygon: Rio: Sandbox: Serpuhov: Silence: Stadium: Have any other tips? Questions? Disagree with any suggested spots? Have maps to suggest? Please, comment below. Feedback is always appreciated! Tips and Articles - Raredust's Creativity
Raredust replied to Raredust in Tips and Articles - Raredust's Creativity Your Creativity Archive
I'm not an artist, so I'm going to use my creativity by giving tips and writing articles. Basically, I'll use my creativity to be an unofficial reporter. My tips and articles will have "RareTip" or "RareStory" at the beginning of each title. Something I don't want to do and try hard not to do is copy the work of others, whether it's their article, or their topic. Obviously, doing so would not be creativity. I'll also try to make the tips and articles interesting and the tips I give I'll try not to make too obvious. Take a look and enjoy! :) -
Contest [Issue 27] Can you Contribute to Tanki's Finest News Source?
Raredust replied to GoldRock in Newspaper Archive
Tankers get tense at the thought of Tanki Online going extinct. There's a huge problem. Too many tankers are fighting in the most important locations: Industrial Zone and Factory. The fighting causes great damage in these locations and with the damage, tanks cannot be manufactured as they need to be. The buildings and machines that manufacture the tanks are being destroyed faster than they can be rebuilt. This is a huge problem because nobody can buy tanks without them being manufactured, and we all persistently need them! A mind-boggling rumour is that Industrial Zone and Factory were secretly saving money to spend for manufacturing M4 Hornets and M4 Wasps! With the destruction however, they are spending the money for repairs and such. Nobody knows if this story is true, but many believe it. Regardless, the fighting definitely MUST stop in these areas, but nobody can stop tankers from doing so because people won't listen, people will protest, and, well, we're talking about war! If this problem ceases to be dealt with, then Tanki Online could have a serious breakdown with the time of its return unknown! Perhaps Tanki could be done for! Everyone is tense about what will happen to the future of their beloved game. Be ready for a breakdown, be ready to give up Tanki, and hope for the best! -
I just joined a Polygon battle and saw a pile of tanks and I thought immediately "No, I just missed a Gold Box." But then the pile was being destroyed and before I knew it the pile was gone, and the Gold Box was still there. Immediately, I activated my supplies, sped to the Gold Box, and took it. I wish I had it recorded.
-
I catch most of mine in Polygon, Stadium, and Sandbox.
-
Well, they drop depending on the battle fund. So if you're asking which maps will most likely have the biggest funds, then some maps are Polygon, Stadium, Massacre, Highland, Silence, Industrial Zone, 2042, Desert, Noise, Esplanade, maps with city names, etc. Basically, the maps where Gold Boxes will most likely fall are fairly big maps that tend to be active and full.
