  1. The average kills per battle goes up a little with rank. Even at your rank, though, 30 to 35 kills per 15-minute battle should be doable. Four battles per hour would put you over 100. The 400 kill first-level reward is something you can achieve in a weekend, assuming you can play at least four hours; over two days, that should be doable. It isn't that hard for me to have over 150 kills per hour. The most kills I've managed in one full 15-minute battle is 64, but my average is closer to 37. I simply don't have over a dozen hours on a weekend to spend playing. Not happening. Some players have the time. I don't. A dad simply has other responsibilities. Many regular players will exceed the first level. A few regular players will manage the 2000.
  2. Wolv, I can make no sense of your statement. If people are actually against using drugs, why worry about daily missions and weekly chains? The rewards are mostly supplies. If you don't want supplies, missions should be unimportant. If you only play no-supplies battles, there is only small advantage to completing missions. Did I miss something? I really don't understand these complaints about wanting missions in supplies-off pro-battles if you actually don't care about supplies. I use myself for example. Sure, I bought the 90-day premium. I get ten-each extra doubles and speed every day, but I get enough missions that I never run out of doubles, and I have thousands of speeds and mines. I'm always nearly out of repair kits. Until Gismo, when out, I made do. Since Gismo, and especially as Legend, it is impossible to help the team without some repair kits. So, when I run out, I either play only DM until I earn more, or I part with my hard-earned crystals in the garage for a 100-supplies kit. With the nerf to the repair kit, I won't be doing that any more. The repair kit is too useless to worry about having. (Lowering the crystal-price tag is pointless. The repair kit isn't worth 10 crystals now. It is a placebo. It is a topical pain numbing ointment applied to broken bones and open arteries.) I play for the missions. I think missions were one of the best ideas Tanki has implemented. I like playing for the missions the hard way. I even like first-place missions, because I average first in at least one in three battles. I've been eligible for megamissions for perhaps three months, and I've already completed two, the hard way. I play, and I play hard. I love to brawl, and effective, strategic use of supplies is key to being able to defeat multiple enemies on a flag run. The new parms make that much more difficult. It is as though they made it easier to start the run, but harder to sustain, and the repair kit is practically useless. It rarely helps at all. This change, and the overdrive, have made the game nothing but frustration, and I'm still freaking good at it. I'm still playing because I'm still effective. I'm hoping things improve, but Tanki-X disappointed me too long. I gave up on it. I'd have given up on this, but I have so much time and experience invested over the last 3.4. It was a good ride, but for the last 10 months, it has been more frustration than fun. This latest update makes it unbearable. I'm giving it some time, but every hour I play gives me more frustrations and more reasons to just find something else to do with my time. It ain't like I don't have options. Antidruggers can whine all they like, but that is all it is. Play pro-battles with supplies off, and don't worry about missions. Or, alternatively, get effective at using the supplies you earn. My son, Donut70 is off in the military now, but he played for nearly five years never buying anything. Nothing! I bought him a $99-crystals package for his birthday three years ago. It happened to be half-off, and he happened to have a double-crystal reward card, so it was a chunk. He bought a kit with the crystals, improving his garage substantially. But my point is in five years he became an awesome player (mostly smoky), and he always had supplies (sometimes out of repair kits), and he never bought any. He earned it. He earned what he had and used what he earned. Do you get it? He never bought supplies, and he benefited from only $50 cash to his garage over five years. Yet, you, and all the other whiners, always called him "drugger." You whined because he was honestly that much better than you. His skills were higher (I've never faced a better smoky), and his tactical awareness of how to use his supplies frugally and effectively was so solid. BTW, I spent some money on Tanki my first three years, taking advantage of particularly good sales, and spending on my birthday and Christmas, but my total expenditures averaged over 36 months was less than $15 per month. (Not counting the couple of gifts to my sons' accounts.) I used to feel it worthwhile. I was happy to do my bit, but Tanki needs more than players like me to pay all their bills. From the comments I've read, there are a lot of unhappy players like me, and there seems to be a lot of the high-rollers unhappy too. The VLog mentioned plans. If I thought they'd be rolled out over the next four or five weeks, I'd stick it out. I bet the schedule is much longer. It is discouraging. Worse, the changes don't really sound fun. They sound like they are targeting the clans who work together regularly and communicate through Skype while playing in battles. It sounds like lone-wolf-types like myself are being shoved aside, even pushed out.
  3. The overdrive sucks. The overdrive in team games is bad, so sad. Team games are truly ruined. Again, I'm not talking as a newbe, and I'm not talking as a buyer. I have never understood the aversion to supplies use. Earn them. Use them. Quit your ****in! I have the experience. I've earned my way. Really good players never see the top 10,000. Check my ranking. This update is extremely frustrating to me as a highly skilled player. Assume I'm bragging at your own risk. Like my famous fellow Oklahoman said, "It ain't braggin if you done it." The comments about the update helping nondruggers are naive. I've never seen such heavy supplies use, even the now-useless repair kit. It is rare now that anyone uses a repair kit against my twins, and he doesn't die anyway. If you want reasons and examples, dig through my former posts in this thread and in others. Overdrive is bad. It is frustrating. It rarely helps, but when it does, it is unstoppable, and it favors teams that get ahead, making it that much harder for losing teams to make the comeback.
  4. Those pretending the update was about drug-use haven't been in the battles I've played. Supply use is as fast as possible by all, all! Repair kits are now worthless, totally worthless. Maybe one in ten activated helps me out of a tight spot. It sure doesn't help with flags now. Getting a flag away from the enemy is now mostly luck. Since the beginning for me, what I liked least about the game was defense. Defense makes for slow, boring games where every attempt on the flag just results in a destruction. No good brawls. No quick breaks, just tedium, unless one can get a couple of teammates for support, catch the right pickups, and blast in and out. Of course, snipers might still get ya. Defense sucks. Play something like WOT if you want defense. However, with no repair kits now, defense is more effective, and even more boring. Overdrive is crap. Total crap. I'm in general agreement with those experienced players who have said this is the worst ever. It sure is close to the worst in my book. The cooldowns are broke. Is there actually timers and rules, or is it just random? I not only can't get used to them, but they are never ready when I expect them to be.
  5. It sure seems the devs got a hardon over people learning to enter the garage on destruction and avoid a self-destruct. I think the spawn-time change was mostly to ensure everyone self-destructs if they decide to change equipment. I really can't comprehend why they keep changing things to penalize the experienced, skilled players.
  6. Yeah, Maf, I get it. I mostly agree with you, but the changes over this last year have nearly all taken from what I liked about the game. The variety was great. I was playing three or four accounts daily, rotating a total of six. It was fun. Each specialized account I had required different skills and tactics. I was getting good at all of them. Then The Great Leveling (October 2016). It killed everything for me. I switched my main from twins-viking to the already sluggish titan-vulcan and stopped playing my other accounts except the Boar kit. (Dic-rico wasn't affected much either.) I gradually relearned the skills needed to make the most of the sluggish version of twins-viking effective again, but switching back to it at first was simply painful. Nothing worked. None of the skills I had developed were useful. Gradually, as the MUs added up, and as I figured out how to make that sluggish combination work within its limits, it started being fun again, at least some of the time. The recent changes were screwing that up. This change has killed it for me. I'll hold out a few days to try to see, but I won't be renewing my premium account, and I just might give up. Overdrive is bad for team matches. Eliminating the repair kits can't actually be good for anyone. Not even anyone in the groups you define. It is simply bad. I'm a brawler. The game isn't fun when more time is spent in the respawn cycle than in combat.
  7. I recall hearing Hazel-Rah say something about the new repair kit parameters being intended to "level the playing" field, as it were, between the haves and the have-nots, but why did they take the repair kit out of the game? I mean, the most obvious result of this update it much higher total kill counts in matches. The repair kit as-is, really is no more effective than not having it in most circumstances. It tends to amount to a one-second extra fight. Overall, it seems most match time is spent respawning rather than playing. It seems to apply to everyone, less so to the fat tanks, but speed is most of the fun. I loved playing BP while wasp was distinctive and rail was the true fear-machine. Oh well.
  8. I think it interesting that a Legend-21 would say this. I think his words should be strongly considered, strongly weighted regarding future plans. I also think it silly all the comments about buyers. I'm only Legend-1. I just made it. I moved into the top-1000 when I did, and I'm holding my own. I'm also not a buyer. I am old (over 50). I work hard. I make good money. So, yes, I spend a bit on the game, but not for supplies. I use what I earn. Until I made Commander, I had never bought any supplies in the garage. I've still never bought any with cash. Why do so many players rag on the buyers? I'm not a buyer, but I use my supplies, and I use them effectively. I have always found it nearly impossible to capture flags without armor and and speed, and usually a repair kit. Until I made Gizmo, though, I was often out of repair kits, and I just made do. At Gizmo, no. I could never capture flags without armor and a repair kit. Now, rarely, I spend my hard-earned crystals in the garage on the 100-supplies kit. I do well in DM without repair kits, but flags are hopeless without repair kits. The only money I've spent on the game in over a year is the 90-day premium account. That is about as good deal as Tanki has ever made. So, rag on the "buyers" if it makes you feel better about your sad skills, but know that not all "druggers" are buyers. Also, don't forget that there is no game without those players willing to part with some cash for their entertainment. Through my Tanki-years, I have always tended to save my crystals, and then buy kits or use the crystals on sales. At Christmas and my birthday in the summer, I splurged and payed cash for crystals on double and, hopefully, sale. It worked out well, and it always seemed worth it. However, with The Great Leveling (the October 2016 update that altered the balance of everything and eliminated all the high-acceleration parameters), I found the game unworthy of my cash. I didn't spend any on the game at Christmas, and I haven't spent any this summer. With this update, I won't be spending my money on a premium account either. I suspect I won't be able to stand playing the game much longer. Before The Great Leveling, I loved the game. My sons got me playing, and my eldest and I were an impressive team. But since the leveling, everything seems designed to minimize how hard it is for poor-skill players on the one end, and minimize how effective highly-skilled players can be on the other end. I made a lot of friends in Tanki, most of them over 30, like me. None of those friends still play significantly. I never see them online. I am the only player of my Tanki friends that still plays daily. It got hard, and I redeveloped and learned how to push my sluggish equipment to effectiveness again. Sometimes, it was fun again. Then these recent updates. It was sucking the life from me in the game. Now this one. Crap. Total crap. I cannot express the disappointment. It really seems that Tanki is only considering the youngest and newest players. It really seems that Tanki is penalizing skill and experience. Sure, too long, too many words. But, if Tanki cares, someone will read. If Tanki cares, well, I no longer hope they do. Crap. I feel like Charlie Brown running at that football one more time...
  9. Crap! Total crap! What is this game? It isn't Tanki Online; it is something I've never played before. I have no idea how to play now. Magnums are still extraordinary when present, but now the overpowered isidas seem to be the only player needed. With the green boxes taken from the game, it is almost impossible to spend time playing. One mostly spends time respawning. The quick respawn is a pain in the butt too. Is the point to force the self-destruct with any and all equipment changes? Crap! Total crap! I'm going to give it a bit more time, but I got tired of hoping with Tanki-X. Now I'm tired of Tanki-O. There is just no fun in the game in most matches. Good grief. I cannot tell what might be the plan, but right now, it is nothing but tedious. The changes are total crap. Seriously, I used to like Tanki. I used to defend most of the changes, but since the great leveling, and with dam near every update since, the game has gotten more and more tedious and less and less fun. I had gotten used to the sluggish capabilities of my twins-viking, and I was sometimes finding battles fun, but then you changed things again. Now you have changed them to the point where it seems most matches are totally pointless. The overdrive is as least as bad for team matches as I expected. In a couple matches, it hasn't seemed to matter much, but in others, getting behind simply means the battle is over. Nothing can turn the tide once a team that uses overdrive effectively gets ahead. The losing team simply cannot catch up. Their overdrive will not charge fast enough to help. When is HTML5? I don't think I can stand playing more than a few more days like this. Please publicize HTML5 widely so I can maybe come try again. Not having so many bugs and sorry ass hackers just might be enough to figure it out again.
  10. I don't think I know enough swear-words to adequately express my visceral revulsion of the changes I see in this most recent update. So far, this is the worst update ever. Emotionally, these changes are sickening so far. Perhaps I will get used to it, but perhaps It is time to retire from the game.
  11. Sadly, I think tonight's changes are going to hurt the game. I don't think I know enough swear-words to adequately express my visceral revulsion of the changes I see in this most recent update. However, Tanki-X is worse. There is nothing fun about Tanki-X. I quite it already. I've made full rank here. I had plans, but they just don't seem worthwhile any more.

No, not trolling. Sure magnum has weakness. It's lack of turret turn is a weakness, but it is much less significant than a close-range turret whose owner cannot turn turret to save his life, literally. I love hunting players when i realize they cannot turn turret. Magnums are different, because they know they have not turret traverse, they are more adept at turning their tank. It has amazed me. Magnums are very significant in the game. A pair or trio of skilled magnums make the other team impotent.

IMO, if you are thinking magnum parms are inadequate, it is because you are no good at it yet. At first, magnums showed their potential, but they were easy to neutralize. Now, not. Magnums have now changed the game, and that is why I suggest a few maps that disallow magnum. Magnum is so effective, it totally alters battles. It makes players have to fight differently, and it can make a match with balanced teams totally one sided. Magnum seems to me about right for its purpose, but it is too effective. Onion's suggestion of longer time with larger damage seems appropriate. I think magnum needs to be harder to use, requiring more practiced and precise skill. A possible step in that direction would be to give the turret substantial mass so as to make the hull more sluggish, lowering acceleration for both movement and turning. That would increase the patience and precision required. It seems too much a run-and-gun capable weapon for now. I think there are other possibilities for limiting magnum's impact on the game. I like the turret. I like the role it fills, but it currently overwhelms entire matches when wielded by some of the experts I've already encountered. I suspect others will start complaining as more M4 magnums are running around, played by those who have mastered its characteristics. I haven't played with magnum yet. I have only fought it, and several, often. I have found someone (often me) must go hunt the magnums (as has always been the case with shaft), or the defended position becomes unassailable as many teammates stop trying and others die too fast. Hunting shaft is straightforward because of line-of-sight requirements. Hunting magnum is much more time consuming and tedious. Another factor indicating how dominant magnum can be is the fact that it is just as play-altering in DM as in team battles. A well entrenched magnum can survey the map for clusters of tanks and rack up kills quickly. A well entrenched magnum becomes a must-kill. Part of the problem with magnum is protections. It is difficult to justify magnum protection when its shots are so random. I acquired a magnum-containing module on my alt account, and it is effective, but if there aren't at least two magnums, it just isn't worth equipping. Of course, I've voiced my complaints about having so many turrets while modules are limited to three protections. That is a separate issue. You should know by now invisible opponents are lagged to the max. That is, you need to refresh your browser (or exit/close the standalone and restart/reenter). Somehow the server loses track of that tank with respect to you. It will get worse if you don't refresh.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

And what would be the difference between your football and a flag? CTF in stadium is exactly what you describe, as well as I can tell.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

I suggest some maps be designated as Magnum-free. Esplanade is one of the funner maps, in my opinion, unless it has a couple magnums popping from anywhere and everywhere. Magnums have changed the game. They need tweaked, but I'm not sure how. They need to be harder to use so effectively. Perhaps the turret has its own mass that adds to whatever hull, making it more sluggish. Their power seems appropriate. I don't think they need more or less damage or splash. They fill a role well, but they can be totally disruptive to a battle. (Isida are worse. Isisda stink. No map is fun when isida are stinking it up so bad no one can breathe. DM format should simply not allow isida.)

We need a few maps that do not allow Magnum. Esplanade is my first suggestion. That is a much less fun map when there are magnums present. Magnums have changed the game, mostly not for the better. (I don't want rid of magnums. They need tweaked, but I'm not sure how. Adding mass to the turret may help, making the hulls more sluggish. I don't want them less powerful. I think they are about right, but they mess up the game. They need to be harder to use.)

    Ideas for Game Modes!

There are too many turrets. One can literally face all of the turrets in large battles, and modules only have three (or fewer) protections. (While a few legacy modules have four, only the super expensive Picasso is worthwhile in that regard, and it is still limited.) I suggest format-type modes with limited turrets. Perhaps a short-range format where only the turrets with range of twins or less are allowed, or long range, or specific sets of 5 to 7 turrets. It won't help much if there isn't some sort of implementation for non-pro battles. An occasional free-for-all against several turrets is fun, but more than a couple of those gets old quick. Also, all DM battles should exclude isida.

First, it is rare I play an hour without a fatal error. I've noticed no pattern, but about once every 30 to 60 minutes, the stand-alone player freezes. Refresh does nothing, only exit and reenter, hopefully, without losing progress. My point for this post: I suggest there is a problem with too many turrets. Magnums have changed the game, and the fact that one might be facing every single turret, there is no practical way to defend in some battles. Even if one has protections against the strongest turrets, it is tedious to switch between modules, especially if opponents are switching turrets. And magnums; they change the game, mostly not for the better. I suggest formats in DM on the larger maps that limit turrets, perhaps six. I also suggest that Isida simply not be allowed in DM; not at all in any DM.

It seems you are saying one can buy first place. Buying crystals improves the ratio, yes?
  20. Isidas are truly problematic. Isidas are back to being totally dominant if they are willing and able to use lots of supplies, and even protection modules hardly matter.

Interesting. I ranked up a minute ago. My rating jumped from 89,298, if I recall, to 92,074 in that one battle. Obviously rank has much to do with it. That pushed me up into the top 1000, versus something like 23,000th before ranking. The other suggestions everyone has offered regarding what matters seems of mixed utility. Looking through the top 25 or so, nothing stands out, except all are legend rank.

  24. I'm trying to load the client, approximately one hour after server-restart. It will not load. I tried a few minutes, a few times. I downloaded new and reinstalled. No change. I've been trying to load the client for about 17 minutes so far.

I have repeatedly tried to start the client. It runs and never finishes. I downloaded and reinstalled. No change. The client will not fully load. I've been trying for about 15 minutes so far.
