[Issue 42] Why a 40% Off Sale is Better than 50% Off

Short memory! Actually at big sales it was always at 50%. Also casual single items sales at 70% off !!! -
[Issue 42] Why a 40% Off Sale is Better than 50% Off
Brubook replied to sonofchrysalis3 in Newspaper Archive
Dear sonofchrysalis3 First of all, why you talk like we all were a bounch of dumb children? Then, you talk about expenses, taxes and so on ... do you know about wages in Russia, Malta or Asia? Do you know about taxes in those countries? Do you know coding costs in Asia or India? And ... do you know why I ask you about that? If you made some calculations (I did on published data), you would have come with quite huge Tanki (read Alternativa Platform) revenues! Which is good and appropriate itself ... any good company with a good idea deserve to earn millions! But turning every Tanki decision in a "poor guys they need some food on the table" is definitely unappropriate! Also, selling power in a free-to-play game is the worst thing to do when it creates heavy game unbalance. You say "you play for free" ... NO, in the actual tanki you only loose for free. And here we come ... a free-to-loose and pay-to-win game! What Tanki is doing now with drugs, kits and premium is just applied greed! Some results are already here (from 150k to 80k daily players) and the conclusion will come soon! Nice story, compliments for writing (is written very well), but I disagree with the concept! -
A good game is based on the balance. A good monetization method is to avoid directly selling power, while the easier and with "immediate" cashback is selling power. The last has shorter life. Drugs heavily unbalance the game. In a free-to-play game selling power is the worst thing you can do. Tanki is making the game a free-to-loose and pay-to-win game, as the sold power unbalance can decide any battle. And I agree with your friend's ethic or etiquette or whatever name you gave to that fairness feeling she talked about. Talking back about monetization, there are many solution to make money while avoiding selling power, as described in this post http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=246957 (that L.I.B.E.R.A.T.O.R mentioned)
-
And even in an estimate of a 10% payers over players ... you can't even imagine the hell of a lot of revenues that Tanki (read Alternativa Platform) makes!!!! I made some economic estimation taking that ratio ... we are talking about millions $ revenues! So they shouldn't be soo greedy and destroy a nice (and profitable) game!
-
As a general suggestion you are right. But complains (at least mine and some others) come quite after many ideas and suggestions have been proposed. Have a look here, you might find it interesting (see post 1 and 2 and "sum up"): http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=246957&hl= Thank you

I just cannot read in silence! Two "full grown worlds 2nd best university students" (...) insulting you mainly with nonsenses ... This just confirm what I told you on your "goodbye" message: you have great diplomatic qualities and great discussion balance ... don't even waste your time on useless answers. Fully support you

Don't change my words ...
-
NO again Premium players play with everyone else. The only thing premium does is increasing the already bad unbalance of the game (due to drugs excessive overpower). - Unbalance creates unsatisfaction - unsatisfaction create frustration - frustration makes free players leave - the remaining less crowded game become less interesting - less interest to play means less interest to invest (or buy) --- > FAILURE (or bankrupcy in business words) See the point?
-
NO If you understood a business, you realised that PLAYERS make the game interesting and appealing for BUYERS to buy, so PLAYERS are the critical mass that actually run the servers! To make an example: take free players off ... would anyone come and buy? would anyone invest on a desert game? would anyone be interested in the game? In this business model buyers are always a percentage of free players! No free players --> no buyers! Think about it!
-
Well, I think that you reserve battles for premium only, is like fighting between druggers only. You level them up like normal tanks. If everyone has the same "advantages", it is not an advantage anymore! So why pay for that? Just to point it out, I am against drugs and their excessive extra power and I am against premium ... both things do and will create unbalance in battle, which generate only frustration on normal players, which still are the majority of players! In these cases you "buy" skills (druggers call them skills) ... open your wallet and win ... this is the way Tanki works right now, and premium will widen the gap even more!
-
If most players consider this update negative, the only positive thing you can get out of the discussion is that you should record the uniform players sentiment ... like a kind of a poll. So, positive as you say MUST mean polite and fair discussion, but not necessarily positive comments like "wow, amazing update", you see? Here you also have encouraging ... you are very encouraged to abort this update, IMO!
-
That is greed, not desperation! One is a will, the other is a need!
-
DarkOperative, you may even be right in terms of regulations ... but did you realize that we have been offended and insulted? Did you realize that? Do you really espect no reaction to that? Where do you think comments and discussion on offences are made? After the offences themselves, it is obvious! Do you think that a report on mods would work? Many times they do not work even for normal players! In a fair world 2 of your colleagues should be banned ... and you already read why! But instead of taking action, you delete my post ... clear enough! This is not a democratic discussion based behaviour ... not talking about what should actually be a "customer care" (what you all are supposed to be)
-
EVISITORS you said "Most of time tanki has acted on feedback we gave" and you talked about balance. Deleting my post will not change anything. On the "customer care" I am very offended by you (read Tanki mods in general), so if you say that Tanki read and act on feedbacks you are lying, and the proof of what I say is the link I sent you (here: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=289129&page=32&do=findComment&comment=5064834) I didn't break any rule and I referred to published comments (readable on the referenced posts). You lie to me saying that and I would just say nothing? Discussion (or customer care) does not work that way! I know that those posts are quite "itchy" for you all, but sorry, that is not my problem! Beside, I am also pretty offended by what has been said on us ... players ... customers! And in my opinion, politeness and respect are NEVER off topic!
-
Sorry yele, even if I know this is a bad moment for Tanki and especially for all of you mods (which I think are just marginally or not at all responsible for this "update") ... but what you said here is quite irrelevant! I cannot put on the shop shelf a machine gun and justify it saying "well, but probably not everyone will buy it immediately"!

Stay on topic ... you need our support ... to hear this? MAFlOS0, on 10 Oct 2015 - 16:19, said: What's the point of the "Forum games" section? It's just a bunch of topics that allow you to easily boost your post count without risk of getting banned for flood. We could close it too, but it's popular so we are keeping it open. Same with I&S. http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=277630&page=10&do=findComment&comment=5061356 Sorry Hazel, but after what you and MAFIOS0 said, you should use that hammer to yourself! Remember that when a player says something bad, he can be banned ... but you and your colleague, that here officially represent a business company, cannot say such insulting, offending, age-racist things to what are YOUR CUSTOMERS. No mercy for this ... you just should NOT have done it. I feel offended, you shown lack of respect that any damned human being DESERVE (not talking about a customer). You and your colleague should be banned because you are not able to deal with people (customers) and problems (which is a real issue here). Also, official excuses would be the minimum you can do! Just to remind you and everyone: This is what Hazel-Rah and MAFlOS0 thinks about us ... and how he treat our words Hazel-Rah Yisroel.Rabin, on 09 Oct 2015 - 19:52, said: 1) Why...? I don't see any reason why you have to release unliked updates. Wouldn't you rather players than money? If there were no players, the game would be nothing. You know we share a part in this game too. 2) Sorry, don't get it. Hazel-Rah Posted 09 Oct 2015 - 17:54 1) Yes you do, but for developers it is like be a parent. You can't give ice cream all the time. 2) Forum is less than 1% of game population. Loyal, but giving most of the criticism. http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=289129&page=7&do=findComment&comment=5058840 Yisroel.Rabin, on 09 Oct 2015 - 19:47, said: That isn't even relevant to my post. I asked why you release updates that aren't needed/liked by many? Hazel-Rah Posted 09 Oct 2015 - 17:50 Because: 1) We have to 2) Forum majority is game minority http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=289129&page=6&do=findComment&comment=5058823 MAFlOS0 Yisroel.Rabin, on 09 Oct 2015 - 19:50, said: Is there even a point of posting ideas? MAFlOS0, on 09 Oct 2015 - 20:47, said: Not really. But it's still fun to share your ideas and see what people think of them. I already explained it in a different topic, but the main reason no ideas from this section are being added, it because developers already have a massive bucket list of updates, which they have been wanting to add for years (as said in the V-log, Premium Accounts were discussed since the very beginning of TO). And they can't just abandon those plans and start working on new ideas from this section. If they do that - the whole process of development will become disorganised and hectic, resulting in lower quality updates, more glitches and less new features overall. You can still post your ideas here and discuss them, but keep in mind that no matter how good or simple your idea is, it may only be added to the game in a few years or so. If an idea from this section does end up in the game in a few months or even weeks after it was posted, then it simply means that the player guessed what the developers were planning, and suggested something that would have been added anyway. http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=277630&page=9&do=findComment&comment=5059020 MAFlOS0, on 10 Oct 2015 - 16:19, said: What's the point of the "Forum games" section? And that balance is the recipy of success! See: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=246957&hl=
-
Shadow, please! Make some calculations as I did (based on Alternativa Platform data), make some estimations and you will come with MILLIONS of net balances! As I said, a good idea deserve to be successful, but greed and blind money drained to players is not a good strategy. Any idea to be successful has to be supported by appropriate management and customer care (in this case). Don't compare TO staff with road beggar praying for some coins for food. They have diamonds on the table right now!
-
Very nice and very well explained. I wrote this already before mods removed my post. Anyway you might find this interesting: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=246957&hl=

Tanki is continuously (they say) evolving, I say overpowering, nerfing, giving more or taking off from equipment you already bought and spent for. You plan a strategy in function of weapons characteristics and then all that go to the dogs! Any thinking mind would spend money on something that "change" from evening to morning!
-
Actually it is not only like that ... devs do not "remember" that with NO PLAYERS there would be NO PAYERS! Players ... I mean free players make the base (the critical mass) where everybody, payers included, can play and have fun! Just to remember!
-
This makes sense! Malta has a 15% tax rate if I remember correct, yet there are many ways to reduce the taxable base. What about the Singapore HQ? (4% flat tax) Anyway my point on writing that is that Alternativa Platform hasn't got HQ in the center of Moscow (as the example of the player who wrote that).
-
Absolutely not! Discussion is the principle of customer care ... I appreciate you to discuss. Yet if I feel that something is wrong in my opinion, I just tell you. I think that you should appreciate my honesty, even if often my opinion is different from yours
