Probably not. They are doing their best to run off paying customers. Their new reporters have caused me to decide to close my wallet forever now.

Because they lied about the sale and I have a screenshot from the official Facebook post on Tanki's FB to prove it. But when I post it the image gets deleted every single time. It's the fact that they lied and attempted to cover it up that has people upset. Their official mods said it would be 50% before the announcement of the sale on the forums. Then we found out it was going to be 40%. I can guarantee one thing - that 10% difference in the sale cost them 100% lost revenue. I gave my son a choice during that time of having some crystals or a rank on a MC server. I also chose not to upgrade as much as I would have with a 50% sale. So they lost real money from me because of that choice. He chose to give up on Tanki "because it sucks now." And now due to the tone of the reporters here Tanki will forever lose this paying customer once I rank. What a shame. Kirby was a great press representative. He never talked down to players.

What a sad, pathetic, and condescending reply. But what else should we expect from you and the others here? It must be the top qualification to work for Tanki. You would disappoint if you didn't talk down to us. You tell me to not play any longer? That's your response? I'm a paying customer and you have insulted me. In about two weeks that big red X will likely be closed for the last time. Thanks to you, the other reporter, and the overall decline in quality and game play.

I really do tire of these pretentious and condescending articles talking down to players as if we have no other choice how to spend our free time. All these updates? Makes as much sense as going to the local restaurant each week only to find out they replaced the silverware with shovels and pitchforks "just to shake things up a bit" or finding out that the steak that was on the menu has been replaced with Salisbury steak "because they are both made from beef." It's one thing to come out with something "new" but calling something "new" by constantly making changes that the vast majority of players oppose is absurd. I have little confidence the "new" Tanki will be any better than this one - it will be the same druggers, same mults, same raiders, same saboteurs that plague and infest most of the battles now - only difference will be that players will have prettier graphics and sounds to soothe them while they feel like thrusting their hands and fists through their screens!

The gold box increase is not a guarantee that more will fall - it's still random chance.

So far in several days' worth of battle I have only seen a single person with a Premium account. Those little crown icons remind me of the tacky crown air fresheners popular for a short time in the early 1990s in the US.

Where I used to live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA there used to be a grocery chain that practically no longer exists now. No kidding - a can of soup that costs $5 in that chain was $2 at another chain - for the same brand, flavor, and quantity. Now, what person would willingly pay $5 when it was $2 about a mile away? And they wondered why they went out of business. I had a boss once that thought just as Tanki does. He refused to mark anything down, and, he always insisted on a 25% markup on new items and 50% on used items. His theory was this: if he listed something for $100 and sold it for $80 he thought he was LOSING $20 - even if the item cost $50 wholesale. What a moron! And he could not understand why the numbers of customers declined and why sales declined from around $75,000 per month to about $13,000 per month over the course of about 3 years. There was a local chain that opened up about the same time he did and by the time my boss's store closed the other one had 5 locations. They purchased the same computer items we did and marked them up only 10%. Sad thing was that it was cheaper for me to buy things from them than my own employer. He ended up losing everything (including his house) because of his greed.

Unhappy customers will never be paying customers. Nobody seems to understand that basic tenet of capitalism around here. 10% isn't going to break Tanki. You're not selling physical widgets - your selling intangible items which cannot be resold, transferred to other players, or even refunded. Your currency can't be traded for anything except objects which have no real value in the real world. A fully upgraded tank costs about $700 USD. Do you actually think that is acceptable when compared to practically every other game that exists right now? Are there any off the shelf games that cost $700 to purchase? Tanki angered a lot of people who would have been happy to spend real money if the sale had been 50%. But that 10% difference? You'll never know the true cost lost in revenue, damage to reputation, and poor word of mouth that move created. Your snibbling and condescending article does nothing to impress me. All you did was manage to rub more salt into the wounds. Mark my words - because of your attitude and treatment of players I will never again spend a dime on this game.

Tough question really as you don't need to worry about self-damage. I would suggest something that protects against Freeze/Firebird - a frozen Isida is fairly useless and Firebird can damage you fast enough to make self-healing irrelevant. My only paint for a long time was Jaguar and I used it with Isida and Firebird until I reached Marshal. In short you're probably going to want to choose paint for protection against short range turrets - ones that are within Isida's range of damage.

If true then they have really jumped the shark.

The most effective tactic I have found is drive side by side so close to the other player than their paint comes off - for some reason direct contact on the side with Firebird is deadly to even a drugged Isida.

It's not 10x the gold boxes guaranteed - the chances are increased 10x over regular battles - meaning a 1/1000 chance per crystal increase in the battle fund. It still could be a bust. Learn the difference.

I think it's a poor choice of name because in English "X" also stands for "ex" which means something you don't engage in or partake in any longer.

The benefits are better just to spend the same exact money to buy crystals. What do you think is a better deal? (1) 50% more crystals or (2) 100% more crystals? If you think (1) then feel free to waste your money on Premium.

Thunder has a terrible rotational speed - that's why I never upgraded even to M3. The fastest turrets to turn are Twins, Firebird, and Isida in that order. That's why those will be the only three I upgrade (2 of which are already done).

The infamous "brown screen of death" has a major impact in many battles - coming at the worst times when losing a player for over a minute causes enough imbalance to lose the round.

Yeah, the first bit of fuel is mostly wasted - it really starts cooking once you've used about 50% of the meter. Plus it's the only one that can really kill through your own team - making it essential for close up battles involving getting or protecting the flag.

Well if you consider there's no repair kits in a no-supplies battle you then realize how important Isida really becomes. If you hang around the flag base and keep your defenders healed it can make a huge difference. Same thing with Polygon if you can keep yourself down in the tunnel there and heal - I would strongly suggest using the strongest tank possible (keeping in mind of course the trade off in speed - this is why I choose Hunter for this). If you look back on the prior page you can see the screenshot I took of the round when it was complete - Silence CTF with a 3 flag capture limit - and, as an added bonus I got a Gold Box too because I could heal myself while waiting for it to drop :D.

The fact that it protects against other turrets is irrelevant if I am using Twins and it only offers 15% against that. It's like suggesting that because Lumberjack, Clay, and Zeus all offer "100%" protection that Twins is ineffective against them.

It's not that it's weak but it's a rather easy target. I played more DM during the free Premium pass than any other time and I specifically sought out the Yellow Fellows for demolition knowing their paints were weak regardless of whatever turret I used. Considering most people at my rank have 30% protection or more then a person using 15% is an easy target.
