I did that. I went to a server that had only one battle. I created a one hour battle capture the flag in a medkum size map with 1 max team size, and someone joined my battle and started shooting at me. When I left the battle, the other battle was gone, so there was only my battle on that server, but I could not be there alone. However, I have not tried Mafioza121 suggestion of compressing the rank although I think the person who joined my battle was my same rank. I think the best way is to pair up with a friend and go testing in a 2-plauer match. Maybe we should ask for enabling a DM with 1 player. Today, I have a PRO pass, so maybe I can create a private battle and meditate! :)

I sometimes think that the only way for everything never to be able to be perfect is to improve some part of it and screw up another. If you keep doing that forever, you'll never reach perfection, but if you keep improving you'll get very close to perfection.

Training/Testing/Exploration Battles
Baby_Sam replied to Baby_Sam in Training/Testing/Exploration Battles Archive
Hi, I am not sure this is a new question, but things changed since the custom battle names were taken out and the private battle mode has been taken away from the mob and restricted to the elite. Test servers are not always open, and sometimes you can't test something without creating a new account if your original account had upgrades, etc. I sometimes want to explore a map I had never been in or test a turret or hull I have little experience with without having people shooting at me. I used to create a private battle and call it "Training, not a battle" or whatever. I no longer can do that. Last night, I wanted to measure the smoky reloading time, which is not listed in the turret specs, so I created a Rio CP with 1 player max team, and went there to test it. By the way, it turned out to be 2 seconds. A poor soul joined the battle, thinking it was a real battle, and started capturing points. I was not paying attention to that since I had something else on my mind. In the end, he destroyed my tank, but I had already achieved my goal. I had to apologize to him and explain what I was doing. I still feel bad about that though. What is the proper way to do that? If some nice moderator decides this is not the right place to ask this question, can he/she first answer my question and clearly tell me where to ask such questions before closing the thread please? Thank you. -
Did you mean DM? Because it TDM, you are supposed to work with your team to destroy the tanks of the other team. If you mean DM, it seems that everything goes, and it is typical that people can make on-the-fly alliances. I read about that in one of the Tanki newspaper reports.

Can We Please Talk about Reward Distribution?
Baby_Sam replied to Baby_Sam in Can We Please Talk about Reward Distribution? Archive
I am pretty sure the dev team knows about this problem and that was why they decided to reward kill assists recently (in CTF/CP battles), but I am not sure that they know how detrimental it is to the game in general. Yesterday, I made an experiment in a CTF. 1 on 1. 1 person captured the flag 1 time only, and the other person destroyed him 20 or 30 times. The one who has captured the flag and did not make any kill won (crystals) by a huge margin although the other (loser) scored a lot more. The other person who killed him tens of times was practically donating his rewards to the winner of capturing the flag. This is ridiculous. I think rewards should be proportional to score for everyone involved, but the winning team should get a multiplier, say 1.5x. This way, you are still rewarded for winning, but the reward is not big enough to screw up the game for. If that is done, nobody would quit a battle and camp out until someone on a winning side in a different battle goes to the bathroom or something and does not come back within the 5-minute pause period so a vacancy comes up on a winning team. What does everyone, especially the game designers think? -
Sorry if Repeated: Can You Become a Commander in Cheif for Free
Baby_Sam replied to Baby_Sam in Archive
Yes, but you probably need a million crystals or 2 over your carreer. That is a few hundred bucks. If you use the x2 which they give a way pretty often, you can save 100 or 200 dollars. It is still a big amount of money to shell out on this game. -

What is the critical chance and critical damage? -
Maybe they should allow either early leave or switching sides without losing your rewards, because this battle is a waste of time for everybody.
-
Shouldn't the general case be to only use micro-upgrades if you are going to get more return on your investment than you spend on the microupgrade for the duration of its use? Saying this, if someone plays TO for 16 hours a day, it may make sense to do a certain MU, but for another who plays 2 hours a day, the same MU may make no sense. Anyhow, I think it's always better to MU your skill if at all possible.

Sportmanship and Taking Advantage
Baby_Sam replied to Baby_Sam in Sportmanship and Taking Advantage Archive
I do not know if this is discussed elsewhere, but I can't read the entire forum before posting, like some would suggest. In some games, I notice that one team has say 5 players and the other has only 2, and the 2-team is getting whopped. In other games, I notice the two teams have the same number of players but one team is say an average of 5 ranks higher than the other team and is whopping them. I normally would never join either of those cases. I normally would not join a battle when one side is winning by a big gap. In the first one, you may get stuck as your teammates leave and you do not want to donate your rewards to the other team, but it is a miserable situation. That and other considerations make me avoid long battles or join in the last 5-10 minutes, so whatever happens, it is not a big deal, but getting stuck for 40 minutes in a bad situation really sucks. When someone is caught up in this situation, should not they be allowed to quit the battle and take their rewards? The second case looks like some players want to take advantage of low ranks and take "their" crystals. My question here is: As we are enjoying the game and whopping the other side silly, do we realize that they are here to enjoy the game just like us and that they are not enjoying the game at all because of the power unbalance and they would either quit the game or just play with their friends from now on? I am sure other people have seen this and thought about it. What does everyone think? -
That makes sense because there is really no fair way. To be fair to the people who took advantage of 50% sales or whatever, they would have to return the full price or they wouldn't be able to get back what they got before. Though, if they give them back the full price, it is unfair to those who have already paid the full price. If they ever do this, they should probably offer 80% of the price difference (or some other value) and give the user the option to restart or keep what they have.

Sorry about the first paragraph. It is irrelevant. Tanki has been explicitly soliciting input and suggestions. Second, why don't you answer his question about the railgun? I know they can't screw it up regardless of your first paragraph because of the huge Russian XP community behind it. Honestly, don't you think that now the railgun is a lot more superior to the updated shaft?

I would actually tell him never to try it. :) My son tried to persuade me to play it several times. He even wrote on his note to me (from school) asking me if I would ever play Tanki, and I replied to his note saying no way! He lost his password twice at staff sergeant and had to start over. The second time he did, I called him and went to Tanki to help him with remembering the password. He then said, he was fine, he did not want it anymore, and he would continue with his new account. So in the middle of that, I tried Tanki a little and got stuck. Do your dad a favor, and leave him alone. :)

You are right that I have not experienced the gold box experience yet, but my son gets one or two daily. But think about it this way. If you have 10 players (on average) in the game and you divide one gold box between them, that is 100 per player or whatever. The highest player may get 300 out of that. That is still a hefty amount to get as extra. If you are good and you collect a few hundred in every battle, i.e. a couple of thousand a day, will you still leave the game? Are you really in it for the free stuff? :) You know, I think removing gold boxes and keeping the crystal boxes would have been a better choice because it provides a reasonable temptation for people to take it but not good enough that you would kill yourself to get. Anyway, you can never achieve "poetic justice" without making hard decisions sometimes it makes you wonder if you should make those decisions or say to hell with justice and fairness. :)

I think there is so much (not enough) that the community can do because you can never unite most people on anything that involves effort. I believe to solve this problem (sorry, I am probably the lowest rank who commented here), gold boxes need to end and be added to the battle fund. TO need to support tanker personal ban, i.e. if I have a personal ban list, if I create a battle, those guys are not allowed in it. If I join a battle, I get a warning that some of those guys are in it. I cannot think of a good solution for the case when you are in a battle and they join, maybe get a warning so you can broadcast to the game that so and so has joined, but if it is "unanimous" the creator of the battle should have banned them in the first place.

Baffalo Tank? Seriously? Am I missing something? That is the M0 Mammoth with the M0 Isida. A turtle slow hull with a short range turret. The only good use of this that I can think of is a healing station, but forget being able to do anything else with it.
-
It happened me even today as somebody on my team was firing at me and blocking my shot while I was fighting it out with another tank at short range. We all were in the open, so there were no corners or trees that would make my team mate think I was an enemy tank. I understand this happening from a recruit or occasionally happening when someone rounds a corner or something like that, but what about this crazy behavior?
-
In DM, how do you make an alliance? If you go into a game innocently and it has a few friends, you get roasted. How is that fair anyway? The problem with CTF, is that team mates may compete to capture the flag, so you are killing tanks and defending the flag and others take all the credit, or most of it. Because of that, TDM is better. It is all about destroying enemy tanks. There is no rivalry in the team itself. I am not sure how CP is scored to know whether the tank that captures the point takes most of the credit while you are out defending it. Thanks for the tutorial though.

Sorry if Repeated: Can You Become a Commander in Cheif for Free
Baby_Sam replied to Baby_Sam in Archive
Thanks for your detailed answer. Generalissimo is an Italian word. I think it should be Commander in Chief in English or Joint Chief of Staff or whatever. Usually the Field Marshall is the highest rank. Most armies don't have it either. I originally thought the rank system came from the Russian or Sovient military structure, but I checked those. I do not know if there is an army in the world with 30 ranks. -
Did you see the picture? What red dot? The beam is all across the map. The blind can feel it with his hand on the screen. This update makes the shaft useless because its reload time is like half an hour and its damage is like that of one shot of twin turret. You can almost shoot, put the game on pause have coffee and come back in time for it to finish reloading. The next best thing is to mark the shaft like they mark control points, so you know where exactly it is and say which direction it is facing.

Hi, Can one become a commander in chief without having to spend money to buy crystals? If so, what is the percentage who make if for free. Thanks. -
What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
Baby_Sam replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
I think the worst thing is people on your team who are inconsiderate and do not care if they push you off the edge or into harms way. That's mean. It should be punishable some how. -
Giving credit for assists should be good to everybody (being fair). You may get roasted while hitting someone and then another guy hits him and take all the credit earlier. However, I suggest removing gold boxes and adding that to the battle funds, either the same way (lottery style) or averaging it across all battles. Dropping a few crystal boxes (worth 10) should be fine, and does not make a big change.

So you think the other guns are not autoloaders? You have to reload the thunder manually? :)
