Since you don't know jack about sportmanship, here you go: Sportsmanship (or sometimes sportspersonship) is an aspiration or ethos that a sport or activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors. Enjoy.

I am sorry, but obviously you can't make sense of it if you don't use your brain.

You did not tell me anything I did not know before. I know that they do not keep track of who flipped who. I said they easily could. They do not keep track of your score in the sense of how long have you stayed idle or fooling around aimlessly or ineffectively with respect to your rank and the ranks of everyone else around you, but they easily could. All the issues you are worried about they do not track now, but they easily can. They do not invest in that because it has little ROI to them. It does not bring them money. Money makes the world go around. If you can convince them that that can bring them money they'd do it in a heartbeat. They care about cheating because it threatens their pay checks. For this campaign to succeed, you need the person caught multing or sabotaging banned for a month, and that is never going to happen. As I said before, you may be able to save a battle or five a day, but you should shoot for higher than that. I can live with a couple of messed up battles a day. I can leave in my first few minutes there and live happily ever after. I think we need much better than that. I hope my point is clear now.

Even I know that. :)

I talk this way with people I respect. Also, it is censored, so take it easy.

M2 Freeze is not worth it, especially if you MU your M1 Freeze a little. Now, the good thing about the Isida is healing (otherwise, I would stick with the M1 Freeze). If you want to change your playing style and do a lot of healing go for it. The M2 that is worth getting (for short range) is M2 Firebird, but it unlocks at major, and it is a little more expensive.
-
Buying the M1 Viking was a bad investment. M1 Hunter is better than that in every aspect. But now that you have the M1 Viking, which is only slower than the M1 Hunger by about 1, do not waste your money getting the Hunter. If you really want speed, get the M1 Hornet. The M1 Wasp is too light, especially you do not seem to come from Wasp/Railgun background. I think it is wise for everyone to have a reasonably fast hull and a heavey hull with a good long/mid range turret and a short range turrent as one goes up the ranks. Sometimes, a long/short range gun is useless.

Ignore what you don't like. I always do.

In all but in small maps, you may be subject to sabotage and only you or another person see that. I doubt it is likely that someone would flip every tank on a team. Also, chances are those people are busy with the actual battle and have no time or may not be sure that it was sabotage. Even if it were misdetection (the fact that we do not know what the game considers foul play makes it difficult to decide on that), that mechanism can be improved so it does not have to do misdetection, but the system already knows whether you are flipped or who flipped you, if someone had been around for a minute and did not deal any damage to the enemy, etc. By the way, does this vice happen in the battles that you go to at your rank?
-
I did not see the KICK2 idea before, but I have just gone over it quickly. It is still problematic. You have to know that there is already a foul-play detection mechanism in TO. I once got kicked out automatically because of it. We were in a battle where there was 8 of us and 1 of the other team, and we practically abandoned fighting and started to fool around. I climbed on top of the enemy tank and stayed there for a while. I got a message that said "Foul play detected." and got kicked out of the battle. We just need that system improved. The system already knows (or can keep track of it) if some tank all it did was flipping a few tanks of the same team and did not attempt to contribute to the battle. We also need the pause regulated, i.e. you can't join a battle and immediately go to pause. You have to play 5 minutes at least, or something like that. If the battle remaining time is short, you should not be able to pause, etc. Voting and any other mechanism that depends on player participation is doomed. Yes, your campaign may save a few battles a day, but you can't call that a success. You have to shoot for a better goal. This is like somebody spitting on a forest fire. You need a billion spits to make a difference, and everyone can do a lot better than that and much easier. You need the devs' help to make a real difference. I went through some of the ideas here and I think I have posted here once or more before, but what is the percentage of players who subscribe to the forum anyway? I have no idea, but I would think maybe 10-20%. That is not good enough to make a difference. I appreciate your effort though, and I feel your pain, but we all have to do much better.

Feature: Battles with obvious outcome will end sooner

The score really does not matter except for tournaments. In "real life", crystals do. We normally say, I got 500 crystals out of this battle. We don't care if we beat them 10:0 or 10:9. When I am making 2 or 3 crystals a minute, I should quit immediately. If I don't, it's because I am bored or I have xxx992 crystals in my account, and I want 8 more crystals regardless of how long it will take to make them, not wanting to camp out and wait for a decent battle to join. That said, the people like me want the crystal earning ratio to be taken in account. Sometimes, one team scores (exp points or whatever) higher than the other but end up making 1 crystal for every 10 or 20 points. That is not a good battle for them to continue. -
I don't, and I don't join a battle where I am higher or lower rank than everybody else. That is one thing. The other is that everybody knows my real rank. That is what it's all about. The Siberia example was a case where high-ranking players posed as low-rank players without the other players knowing it? I doubt that. From the beginning, I was promoting letting the others know. If they agree, knock yourself out, but being an imposter is unethical as most people would agree. At least, if you do this, you have to play easy and give something back.
-
I think mults, saboteurs, etc. need to be kicked out by the system. Just like when a crazy battle is completely unbalanced (although this does not solve most of the problem), when the system finds someone not contributing to the team (that is different from not making a kill) for a specific period of time, they should be kicked out (and banned for half an hour or so) maybe punished somehow if people complain about them. You can campaign all you want, but if the system does not cooperate, you are just wasting your time and effort.

What is the number that is good for you? 100, 1000, 10,000? Does it really matter how many people you hurt in your quest for your selfish desires? Do you care at all? By what logic? The two situations are totally different. Your "logic" is completely flawed. Do you think your alt accounts bring more players to the game? You can't compare that with advertising or tournaments.

You miss something important to most people. When you kill people left and right without any real resistance, it is no fun to you (if you are like most people) almost as much as it is no fun to them. So, even if someone does not want me to have fun at their own expense, I am not interested. :) The other thing is that people who want to learn from legit higher ranks can do that alreadly. Don't think that you are doing them any favors. You are not. You are just being selfish, so don't pretend otherwise. Now, if they know that you have much more experience and they want you to play with them, knock yourself out. The fact that it is a free game and you can do something, does not mean that it is right to do it. I am sure TO does not want you to drive players out of the game in your quest to teach them against their will. I think what you are saying is not ethical. I am willing to write TO and ask them if they think that is ethical. Please, note that this reply is not personal, but I am addressing your opinions, regardless of whether you actually believe in them or not.

Maybe because it is easier to win against less experienced players? :P

The way I understood the update inteded to do (but failing miserably at it) is to send you to the server on which you would find the longest battle list. So, if battles that have colonels and brigaders, etc. allow your rank, you should see _more_ of them, but unfortunately they need to revise the mechanics a few times to get it working correctly.
-
CrimsonSaviour is interested in that. However, if you followed what I have been saying, you would notice that I actually want you to focus on that rather than showing off to lower ranks. :P
-
I still have to browse servers. EN1 or any busy server is always a better choice than the "chosen one."
-
I agree. To those good Samaritans who took upon themselves to roughen up noobs, I say, if I wanted to learn higher rank tactics, I would join battles like this one rather than learn from a mediocre lieutenant, whose skills are not good enough for his rank, posing as a skilled sergeant. Now, if you intend to escape druggers, mults, and saboteurs, then you have to remember to play at their level. When you are training on karate, your master trainer, when he punches you, does not break your ribcage and kill you instantly in training although he easily can.

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
Baby_Sam replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
You turn it around left and right. :) -
I doubt you would agree with Jazz20 if you played for 20 minutes to get 20 crystals. Remember that it is not your duty to roughen people and teach them; it is their choice, not yours. If you are such a smart major or general, don't you think your same rank deserves to learn your tactics more than recruits and privates or do you know that your tactics are not good enough for your real rank?
-
I am dealing with it by raising awareness that it is wrong to take advantage of less experienced people. How are you dealing with it?
-
That is true for every turret. :)

You see the score when you hit TAB. What you are talking about is the flag score. In your case, it is possible that the score (the sum of the scores) of the losing side could be even more than the winning side's score. I have seen that in some battles with crazy flag scores. That is why, I think the timer should consider the reward gap, not the exp score.
