Well, 10K II has finally been scheduled and finalized. Thanks for everyone who voted on which map 10K II should occur on, Massacre won the vote, followed closely by Iran. Sorry Iran. ;) Hope to see a lot of people there! I'll post the link here when it gets started. :D

To be completely honest, during gold rain anything goes. The battle is a DM after all. Besides, if both sides use drugs, the higher-rankers will dominate the lower-rankers anyway... *shrug*
-
...Well crap. Please don't blame me for this one, because I didn't know, but... I just had a schedule change at work, so I'll have to push back the event four hours (24:00 CDT; 5:00 UTC). I really hope this doesn't mess up anyone, I just can't show up because of work regulations and stuff. :(

I've decided to make 10K II a PRO battle; here are my reasons: In any battle that involves midranks fighting higher ranks, you're going to have M1-M2 with no drugs vs M2-M3 with drugs. The PRO pass isn't going to allow drugs, so gold box catches will be skill-based only. Yes, I realize this will make scuffles much harder, but it's super unfair for M1's to be drug-killed by M3's. 5K crystals for a month of PRO pass means that you'll be able to join any near-future PRO 10K events as well, without having to buy another pass. Considering that 10K is a high-stake, high-reward event anyway, I say it's well worth the price. PRO pass barrier will ensure that most diligent forumers will be able to join sooner than "random players". Let me know what you think about this decision. I want to know what you think. One more thing -- the event is scheduled to be a Third Lieutenant - Major General fight, which means that a Major General will have to create the battle. If you have any accounts or know of any helpful players who are Major Generals, let me know ASAP. (Kinda didn't think that one through, sorry... :c)

While that's true, the main issue I have is the fact that a lot of players know the drop zones on certain maps. Since Massacre is so flat and open, it doesn't really matter since everyone can see the box begin to drop at about the same time.
-
Haha... Sorry, combination of working 9 hours a day and getting 3 hours of sleep.
-
Yeah, the event was targeted at higher ranks, which kinda stinks because I can't reach those top rankers now, and I don't really want to do another mid-ranked event. :/ (Especially because a lot of players here are higher-ranked)
-
I'm going to make a poll and let the players decide.
-
Well, I'm informal pals with Saurus26, who has a pretty successful TO YouTube channel. I'll have to clear it with him though. Sweet, that works perfect for me. I'll schedule it in the morning... kinda sleepy at the moment.
-
Well first off, the event is called 10K, regardless of how many gold boxes we drop. (Unless you want to drop 20K next week, and 30K the next week, and 40K the next week, and so on). Secondly, Tuesday sounds fine, since I'm free all day. It'd probably be sometime in the late evening though (I'm thinking 20:00 CST) in order to give some of our Russian friends a go. And finally, I really think that dropping a lot of gold at the end of the gold rain would make for an awesome game. It's kinda like a fireworks show -- everyone enjoys it while it's going on, but the finale is spectacular. At least that's what I have in mind. It'd be great though if you could also drop some gold. The more gold the better!

Rio and Serpuhov are rather popular maps for CTF players -- players who primarily prefer CP or DM battles won't have the same drop zone knowledge, which gives CTF players an unfair advantage. I'd rather play on maps that aren't really well-known, leveling the playing field. And you don't have to ask to join. Just make sure you're there when the event starts. That's really all there is to it. ;)

Ah... I thought you were trying to add on to the FAQ in the original post, as though you were an event coordinator. I've had a couple people pretend to be part of the 10K team before, so I'm a bit wary. My apologies.
-
I kind of expected results like this. Massacre would be great, but I'm going to try and move away from the "standard" maps such as Polygon. The first 10K was on Industrial Zone, mainly because it was easy to recognize from the lobby and was a unique and underused map. Ahh, no. I'm paying for the gold, I make the decisions here, bud. You can go organize your own event. No, the battles are not only for high rankers. I expect to have an even balance of low-ranked events, mid-ranked events, and high-ranked events. For the high-ranked events, PRO pass might become mandatory, since the abuse of drugs is going to hamper the gameplay.

10K Event (Gold Rain) Forum Page

With a dispirited soul, head hung low in shame, and a heavy and cold heart, I am sorry to report that... Tanki Developers Have Killed the 10K Event So, to put it simply, 10K is officially over. My apologies to those hoping for 10K VI. It's been a wonderful run but I think it needs to end. Why end 10K? 10K was created as a "thank you" to the Tanki devs for creating a great update, the gold box update, which allowed generous players to support Tanki and make other players happy. However, as time went on the Tanki developers pushed their heads even further up their own asses, scraping for anything that they could find that wasn't crap. The one good update that I praised was shrouded by these abominations (some old, some new): Tanki's many "balance" changes, created to shift an unpopular item into being necessary for combat, forcing players to spend more crystals. Tanki added price tags on most kits, making free play much harder and payed play much more expensive. By separating paint jobs from protection modules, Tanki made all players spend more crystals for less battle effectiveness. By making all M3 equipment available at the rank of Marshal, Tanki crushed my hopes for future battles. By creating smart cooldowns and educating their money-****es on how to use drugs, Tanki made the pay-to-win gap even wider. Worst of all, Tanki removed the ability for non-PRO users to create battles entirely, taking away freedom of playing field of the free player. Now, paying players can not only control the field with drugs and kits, but they can control which field even exits. Simply put, I don't want to spend money for these horrible people anymore, and I don't want to spend 5K crystals to host an event that raises popularity for them. What happens now? Tanki is dying, and the devs are scrapping for as much money as they can get before everyone quits. I don't feel like I've been cheated out of money -- I spent it willingly knowing that the game would die -- I just don't feel like supporting this game anymore. I urge you, reader, to simply quit this terrible cash grab and leave this blot on free-to-play gaming's history to burn to ashes, alone and unloved, just as its wicked developers deserve. I plead with you to spread the word. Tell everyone of 10K, and how Tanki backstabbed a player who once loved them. Spread the word past Tanki, to YouTube, reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Encourage others to leave this game, and don't gift any more money to these devs we know to be devils. If anyone is still interested in catching crystals, on the off chance that I do log on to play, I may occasionally drop gold boxes. Who knows? As for this thread, I will keep the summaries of previous 10K events below as fond memories. What about the devs? If you, reader, are a Tanki online developer or any salaried member of the Tanki Online team, my message to you is simple. You did this to yourselves. You robbed yourselves of the income that 10K was making for you. You killed an event in which children would gleefully watch golden gifts fall from the sky. You destroyed something beautiful. I speak to you not as player to developer, but as person to person. As sentient human being to human being. I hope you feel shame for your actions. I hope your conscience eats at you and taunts you for years. I hope you lose sleep knowing that you made a large number of people very unhappy in a futile effort to line your own pockets. However, I doubt you will. You're already too far gone. You are a wicked, perverted, greedy person, and I shall have nothing to do with you. As for everyone else, I can only wish you all luck with whatever you put your minds to. Goodbye. Just posted an announcement for a gold rain event. If you'd like to check it out, it's right here! http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=334100&page=13&&do=findComment&comment=5759684

I REALLY like the new gold update, and I even bought 10 gold boxes for gold rain. It's awesome to see everyone scramble for the gold, and I think a lot of people enjoyed it. The reason I like this update is because it's something that you can give to others, instead of just being a selfish twat. Just like Premium, it's something that players can buy that doesn't make battles one-sided or unfair (even though it does kinda interfere with the flow of the battle). And so I bought 10 boxes to show my support for this update. If Tanki keeps churning out stuff like this, I'll stick around. :D (And yes, I do plan to do a lot of gold rain in the future)

Yeah, I got the Railgun just to see what XP/BP is all about. It's actually rather fun, though if you suck at it (like me) then don't expect too many crystals. XD It is physically painful to me that you'd advertise yourself here... Can we get a mod?

What makes you Mad in Tanki? Things you hate/like in the game?
AlphaNinjaGirl replied to Ditzy-Dip in Archive
Really? No joke, I see a lot of players who use Isida solely for offense. They just want the self-heal boost and don't want to heal their teammates at all. And what I meant by that comment was that there are a lot of players who constantly use Repair Kit and get mad at me for not healing them (I can't heal them if they're full health). -
Thirty at best? Like I said, I get 20 at best, most of the time it's a struggle to keep myself over 10... how is that lucky?
-
Well, I suppose it's due to the fact that I play on a 2010 Google Chromebook, meaning that I get 20 FPS at the best of times. That really makes it hard to use...
-
I haven't caught a gold box in forever... Forever alone. ;-;
-
This account actually started out as a Fire/Wasp combo (as you can see from my many Wasp/Fire hours played), but it simply got too easy to roast enemy tanks for me. ...That and Tanki kept telling players to drug against Firebird in their V-LOG's... <_<

It's really calculated by the amount of players on the opposite team. 1 enemy = 10 points per capture 4 enemies = 40 points per capture 10 enemies = 100 points per capture -
What I don't understand is why the European servers lag like crazy. In 2014, you could easily find 120K players online at any given time, and the servers ran just fine. Now, with less than 50K players and only 6 EN servers, the servers lag more than ever before. That doesn't make any sense!
