    Auto-Drug Mechanic?

So, for the past... I dunno, year-and-a-half that I've been playing Tanki, I've always wondered about this. Is auto-drugging a thing? Here's what I mean by auto-drugging. Say I'm running around, completing Daily Chores and what not, and during my battles I get nicked. Okay, no big deal. Then, just out of the blue, Tanki decides to rob me of a Repair Kit and drugs instantly. This also happens with Double Damage, and I can't figure out why. As of the posting of this topic, you can check my profile and see that I've only used 10 Repair Kits. Only 2 of those were used willfully (I use them to catch goldboxes), the other 8 were just taken away when Tanki thought I should use one. Not only is it incredibly annoying, but I get a lot of people calling me a "drugger" when I didn't even hit the button. I know what you're all probably thinking. "Your finger slipped -- the 1 and 2 keys are close to the W key on the keyboard!" (Yes, I use alternative controls) I've been using a keyboard for 12 years, and not only is an accident like that unlikely to happen, but definitely not so many times! I've seen it happen when I wasn't even pressing ANY keys at all -- Tanki just auto-drugs randomly. So yeah, if this is a game mechanic, it needs to be damned to hell. If it's a glitch, it needs to be fixed NOW. I refuse to lose any more supplies to Tanki's auto-drugging leech.
  2. I think Firebird M1 needs to be buffed. Now before you all try and kill me with those torches and pitchforks, lemme explain. Firebird M1 is the cheapest M1 turret, and as such, it kinda sucks as stock. It used to be an overpowered mess -- I'd see everyone running around with it -- but just like countless times in the past, when Tanki nerfed it, it was nerfed too much. I'm not talking about the damage, I'm talking about the burn time. It used to be 12.1 seconds, now it's been reduced to 5.7 -- less than half! I know the turret itself is cheaper than a bundle of drugs, but damn, it's an M1, and should be treated like it. The stock burn time is beyond negligible, it's just not there. I'm not asking for a huge nerf, but a slight increase in the burn time, maybe 7.6 seconds, would help Firebird users immensely, and it wouldn't be all that game-breaking. To balance it out, I think the damage could lose a few ticks, maybe reduce it to 38 or something -- a bit above Isida M1, but still in the realm of decency. There, I've said my piece. Y'all can use those torches and pitchforks now.

How to respond to any insult, taunt, complaint, etc in chat

Normally when people call me a "noob", I'm like "Yeah, you're right. I really am a noob." It's mainly because I play the game alongside Colonels and Generals, so... XD

[Offering Advice] FPS Problems with Chromebooks

...Yes, I am very nervous. FPS Problems with Chromebooks I've been playing Tanki for about... eh, a year and a half, give or take, and I've run into a lot of problems with my FPS rating. Normally the solutions require you to "download this" or "use this browser" or what not, but if you're like me and you use a Chromebook, there's not a lot you can do, is there? Well you could use Linux via crouton, but if you're not the tech-savvy type, or if you're like me and you don't like having a separate OS on your device, you're probably going to want to just play Tanki regularly. Unfortunately, this comes with some problems. Tanki doesn't work very well on Chrome. Anyone who's ever played the game on Chrome knows this. And since the Chromebook OS doesn't support any other browser, you're going to have to work with what you've got, which means either accepting the FPS problems or doing what you can to fix it. Here's what I've found that helps decrease FPS problems: Using your task manager (Shift+Esc), close any unnecessary or background processes. Be aware that closing a tab process will shut down the tab. Play in a Guest Browser session. This way, your File App account will not be working in the background, and will free up more memory for your game. Alternatively, decrease the amount of offline files your Chromebook is using with the File App. Deleting large files (files over 10 MB) will greatly increase your game speed. Playing in incognito mode causes the loading screens to be longer, but increases FPS immensely. If you're not doing so already, you should use the "Use Hardware Acceleration" option from your Flash settings. Clearing your cache, browse history, and download history will help a bit. Disabling unnecessary extensions while playing the game will free up more memory. Performing a powerwash will aid your game speed. Make sure to save files on an external device before doing so. While playing the game, avoid: Having multiple tabs open or multiple applications running Large maps (ex. Berlin) Large amounts of tanks (generally 10v10 is okay, but anything above that may cause problems) Projectile-based turrets (specifically Ricochet and Twins) Playing with high graphics settings Ultimately, there are still going to be lag problems, but After doing all these tips, my game speed increased from an average of 8 FPS to an average of 32 FPS. If any of these were helpful, be sure to let me (and other Chromebook users) know! Also, if you have any tips of your own, feel free to share them.

    Let's Discuss Supplies!

I agree -- if there's a supply drop an you pick it up, it's fair. Don't call a person a drugger for literally PICKING SOMETHING UP OFF THE GROUND. It's called effective map control, not cheating. If you drug with double damage or double armor, I think you're being unfair. Not to say that I've never drugged, 'cause I have, but I think the only case in which it's okay to drug is when you're counter-drugging someone who drugged. (Not someone who picked up a supply drop, mind you) Now, I don't know if this is just me or not, but my computer sometimes processes that I hit the 1 key when I didn't. As such I use a lot of repair kits without even trying -- some save my life, some are just wasted. If this is a problem with the software and not my hardware, I'd highly suggest a patch. But yes, using repair kits purposely is unacceptable, unless you're counter-drugging someone who already drugged. And I'm actually pretty glad most people don't mind my nitro addiction. I like going fast, it's fun. Sue me. XD

    Let's Discuss Supplies!

I have a theory on players like that -- despite their constant buying and drugging, they still find it hard to play against players of their own skill level, because in reality they aren't skilled at all. So they make an alternate account and go to "noob servers" and blow up newer players just to make them feel better about themselves. To be honest, while it's annoying and definitely wrong, it's also really sad. I pity people who didn't choose to play the game with skill because they took the "easy way" and got addicted to using drugs.
  7. You've also gotta remember that Rico does have to reload. After you fire your shots, you're gonna have some down-time before you can fire again. Not to mention the fact that you're not guaranteed to hit all of those shots. I actually think Twins is a bit imbalanced, since the sheer amounts of bullets and impact force make driving while being attacked virtually impossible.
  8. It happens all the time with me too. Vulcan shoots through walls, Smoky kills me after I kill the Smoky, and Railgun hits behind me and causes damage. Usually it's a combination of how good your connection is, your opponent's connection, and the Tanki server itself. But the guy who shot you did actually land the shot, it just didn't show on your computer until a half second later.

Hornet vs. Wasp - Which stands tall?

As for the question, I prefer my M1 Wasp over my M1 Hornet, simply because I've upgraded the former quite a few times and it now has much more health than an average M1 Hornet. Wasp is also much faster, and doesn't skid around corners like Hornet does. I use it almost all the time, since it goes great with Firebird and Isida, my two mains. However Hornet isn't bad either. I'm planning on getting it as my first M2, matter of fact. Despite the drifting, it's got pretty good stability. More weight means you won't be affected as much by enemy fire, and its power lets you push around other tanks a bit easier. I simply don't use mine since it's, y'know... less health. Wasp just really fits into my weapon set so well. I use Firebird a lot for ninja-ing around the battleground and taking out enemies in hit-and-run spurts, while taking back as little punishment as possible. For Isida, well, a god is nothing if not omnipresent, and getting to those damaged Hornets sure is a breeze since I'm faster. I may die quickly, but as long as I'm doing my job, I shouldn't complain. The main problems come when I either flip on my side, or get shot by an enemy. The hull is so light that I flip right over, and have no way to right myself. Twins and Ricochet are my biggest enemies. I think Hornet goes better with guns like Rail and Hammer. They deal a lot of damage, can flip you back over, and require a playstyle that requires less caution, meaning that you're going to take a few more hits. If you can get used to skidding and don't mind the speed decrease, this is the hull for you. However if you're like me and you gotta release your inner Sonic the Hedgehog, Wasp is gonna suit you better.

New campaign against Mults and Saboteurs.

This is KrystenHunt16's alt... I was playing on Espalande CTF (not sure if I spelled that correctly). I had the flag but a couple of trolls pinned me down and held me to the wall for the remainder of the game. I asked others to report the trolls and nobody did. One person even said (quote): "F*** you do-gooders, nobody cares about that kind of crap" Seriously... what do I do?? I don't have video recording software and I'm unsure on how to take a screenshot (I use a Samsung Chromebook). -- Krys
