THE GLOOMY HOUSE Story by @Darren4Turbo Proofread by ****** Harry looked at the house on Black Wall Street - where the "scary" house was settled. The house looked very ugly and scary, the weather was rainy so Harry decided to sit down for a while beside the door of the house. The house was not at all like Harry had expected. He had listened to people telling really bad stories about the person who supposedly lived there. Harry felt so scared even though he thought that nobody lived in that house. There was nothing but the sound of the rain coming down against old tin roof. The house looked as if it had been abandoned for around fifty years. Suddenly, he heard a voice in the garden. It seemed as if something or somebody was following or watching him. Terror ran though his body. Unexpectedly, someone grabbed him shoulder and dragged him backwards into the house. He left Harry sitting there. Harry found himself inside the dark, gloomy house. There were a lot of pictures on the wall, pictures of normal people. "Nothing creepy about that" Harry thought to himself. Harry was still a little bit nervous and scared. He kept reassuring himself "There isn't anything to be scared of, there isn't anything to be...". Harry suddenly heard a strange voice beside him, he saw a oddly shaped black thing sitting on the floor, he wanted to see and touch it but all of a sudden, it stood up and towered over him and Harry screamed "Please sir, don't kill me, I beg you!" The mysterious thing looked at him and said, "Why are all of the people so scared of me. They all tell bad stories about me when I did nothing to them!" he shrieked. "Err... I don't know" said Harry, feeling a bit more relaxed. "Maybe because you're a little bit scary: Harry added. "Am I?" "Hmm... yeah, a bit. Your black beard and your hood makes it look as if you're a ghost and you smell pretty disgusting as if you haven't taken a bath in years". "Really? damn, all of these years I didn't know that". "So, you have lived here.. for years?!" asked Harry. "Yeah, around five years and I'm done with that!". "Why you didn't get out of this house and why you even entered it?" "This house was once my home as a kid. One day, my parents left me here to go to a holiday to Italy. They told me they would be back in two weeks, but after two weeks, they weren't here. I waited and waited but nothing. Five full-years passed. I'm living in this house and I won't dare to go outside unless my parents come!". "That's sad" Harry said. "Why are most of the people scared of you, sir?". "Because they say that a black hooded guy lives in this house and he looks so unknown and scary. That house is also very old, rundown and dirty. "I'm really sorry about that, hope you your parents return soon!" As he was leaving the house, he wondered how those people that had told all the bad stories were going to feel when they found out that the mysterious person was really a good, kind yet heart-broken person. When he told them what had happened, he though that they would be very sorry about everything they had said. To be continued...
