Wow, thanks Bob Hope, you really can't take a joke can you?

Dude, stop crying, I know rico has its place. Maybe I could've worded myslef more clearly. By 'rico doesn't do anything particularly well' I really meant, 'rico isn't best at any one thing. This fits into it being a versitile gun. I wish people would stop thinking I insulted their favourite gun. I could list a bunch of drawbacks for every turret in the game, as well as a number of advantages. No need to send in the cavalry because Insaid something bad about a turret, geez.

There's nearly always SOMEWHERE to hide. Shaft people are too proud. The dev's would let it carry on if was a 1-stop GODMODE-ON turret for all ranges. Sorry lads, but I'm gonna take some convincing before I hand my railgun up to dry.
-
Hmm, I'm still not convinced. Maybe you're just a very skilled player. I've seen shafts on Sandbox DM, and they don't even compare to thunder. I find shaft cumbersome at mid range, any reasonably skilled player can just place a shot on the corner of your hull to knock you off. Maybe you and I do a little 1v1 on sandbox when I get my smoky M2. :)

Rico doesn't do anything particularly well, other than parkour. You can't lay down supressive fire since you use all your plasma, and in head on combat twins is better. You can't utilise cover as well as smoky or thunder and the reload is awful, ever worse then hammer's. Rico does the midfielder job quite well though, and the ability to at least damage someone 100% of the time makes it great in intense battles like Sandbox CTF. Then again, smoky shreds light hulls more effectively as bullet travel time is instant, so you can't really dodge a smoky. Rico's shots are lazy and have trouble keeping up with wasps and hornets.

Seriously? People are still using this gif? I remember getting hit by this when I was trolling the shaft page. That's old. So old...
-
That would explain alot :D Seriously though, killing noobs with shaft prooves nothing. Railgun is much better at close range, especially if there's something to hide behind. Plus, if you know what you're doing you can flip 'em. Something pretty tricky with shaft at close range.

Dictator isn't best at anything then. Other than gold hunting. Then again, I'll always kill the enemy dictators first when gold drops, and if everyone else does the same, I don't reckon much to this ugly, slow, massive hull.
-
I believe you did, but I don't believe you did very well. Send me a screenshot of you using shaft with a 2+ K/D on Sandbox or Ping Pong, then I'll believe you.
-
I've seen viking M2 make the jump in Monte. I reckon it was MUed tho.
-
I'm not convinced that hornet is a good starter hull, as most noobs can't use its speed to the full (I've seen colnels who can't turn their turrets, let alone at the lower ranks). Really, a noobs choice is twins-mammoth, where you can stick yourself in the middle of a Sandal DM and pretend you're a stationary turret.
-
XD Sorry, but that's bull. Shaft is about the worst possible turret for Sandbox, and unless you were playing against complete noobs, I can't imagine you used anything but arcade shots, in which case thunder is much better. At least rail can put down its full damage at point blank. Shaft shouldn't even try. Sorry pal, but rail is MUCH better for Sandbox.

*facepalm* Congratulations Sherlock Holmes.

I don't remember my kindly welcome... -_- Anyway, I wish people would stop complaining about the new thunder. It shreds light hulls, and does less self damage. So stop whining.
-
Wow, I would NEVER play a battle that long. Especially not on Poly CP which I find tedious and repettitive. Anyway, smoky might be a better Poly gun since they nerfed thunder's splash. I'm taking the plunge next weekend with this upcoming sale. Also in the pipeline: Rail M2 and Viking M2. I still like my fire tho... Why am I telling you this? I guess I thought you'd be interested... I'll not make that mistake again.
-
Rail is good on sandbox? BAH! This is traditional, not effective. Too many layers to land all your rail shots. Capping is easier with firebird, killing easier with smoky or thunder. Railgun's infinite range is useless in sandbox, so the sacrifices you make for it (low reload, slow turret rotation and poor gun depression) aren't worth the advantages. Yeah maybe you can pick off some flag holders, but I'm sure a fire or thunder would be much more helpful. Yeah, serpuhov, silence and carlo, but not sandbox.
-
I have 190k, will rank to brig before the sale and want to know ur fave combos. What do you recommend?
-
I'm gonna get smoky M2 on the sale. TBH it looks more attractive to a first timer than the old smoky, especially since the time it takes to destroy an enemy is pretty predictable. I would get thunder but I think it's ugly and slow, and M2 smoky looks pretty sick on M2 viking. That being said, rail is a much more active gun since the update, even holding its own without cover if you have a heavy hull. Still, smoky deals enough damage to outpace even the best railgunners, and the impact force looks very attractive. Since the update it can also 4 shot M2 hornets without needing crit, which makes it very appealing for sandbox CTF when mounted on a medium. Not sure if I need a new paint though. I'm still using tundra.

Hammer on the other hand, is pig ugly.
-
I use hornet, firebird, rail, viking and smoky because they're pretty. If I lose, I do so with style...
-
I never have much trouble with ricochet, but I use firebird on hornet and I can burn 'em and zip off while they die. I imagine it's a nightmare for most other turrets.
-
Ricochet doesn't punish people for using light hulls. Hammers DPS is irrelevant when pitched against its damage. It is a brutal gun. Have you seen what it does to wasps? Do you think that's fair? A gun designed to flip enemies is pointless, irritating for both user (who earns no xp) and victim.
-
I would also like to point out, that if hammer is so crap, why would you (and 50% of everyone) use it?
-
No, I'm not a bad player and you're being ridiculous... Although you seem to know that. Light hulls cannot do their job (AKA flag catching) if there is a hammer camping on the flag ready to 2-shot you. Shaft, rail, thunder?! When have you ever seen someone use hammer on a map where rail or shaft are effective? Thunder?! Thunder is terrible at taking down heavier hulls since the update. Clearly, to counter hammer, players need to sacrifice a lot, something they should't have to do. I don't expect you to understand, since you sit at the other side of the big wall of hate that seperates players who are loyal to their playing style, and the fickle users of hammer who like its OPness, not its concept.
-
It's obviously OP too, despite the counter arguments that hammer noobs raise. You think there are this many complaints about ANY other turret? No sir. This menace must be stopped.
