Any good tanki tips (like looping, diving, zooming, in air combat)?

Hey. This topic may be of use to you - https://en.tankiforum.com/topic/374621-issue-81-the-mid-rankers-handbook-essentials/ There are many similar topics in the Newspaper as well as in the main sub-forums. If you take a look in them you can find a lot of good tips, strategies and guides not only regarding gameplay but also different mechanics of the game. For example, the Pro's Advice series in the Newspaper has covered a lot of general tips and tricks you can use to up your playing level. Then there are multiple guides for maps and turrets, each with their own sections of secret and handy tips not many people know. One such tip I can give you is when you're playing Noise in let's say a drug-war style or even a normal pro battle and are using a heavy hull, you can use the protruding levels of floors to ride a short-cut way between both bases. Getting good at this almost guarantees a perfect landing and is certainly faster than dropping level by level or by the ramp, in which case you would possibly be wasting ammo. Speaking technically this move not only allows you to get down faster but also frequently dodge enemy shots. If you look carefully the move requires you to stop all forward motion (this sudden stop may cause some projectiles to miss as they will be placed slightly in front of you by the enemy, to cater for your forward motion) once around half of your hull is in the air. This makes gravity take over sending you into a vertical dive, and since the back part of your hull was still in contact with the floor above, it goes forward - initiating a spin. If you do this perfectly the front end of your hull should touch the floor below vertically straight and almost "bounce" in a continuous motion, therefore correcting your hull to an upright position and landing safely below. -
I think the tanki chatbox is not used enough for team effort in team DM

Yep, but even if they add in-game voice communication between members of the group it would be a useful feature. However now that I think about it, most group members are in a Discord/other call anyway, so perhaps it defeats the purpose of making a channel solely available between groupmates. -
Play Assault in blue team and mine the ramps/entrances, especially in maps like Osa and Solikamsk. I got 5+ kills easily per match that way.
-
Mobile players have auto-aim? Wow, never heard of that.
-
Nah, the concessional Viking-Thunder who doesn't turn the turret will always get that one "calculated" shot that hits you in the back no matter how much you try to swerve thinking they couldn't possibly hit me with all the zig-zagging I'm doing... and this is one of the most annoying things in the game. ?

Thank you, I was thinking about including all sorts of possibilities in the video but couldn't find the time to do it today. By the way when I replied with your quoted text it wasn't an argument, just another fact I thought needs to be brought to attention. I am too waiting for more of them to release and their actual release to see how they fit themselves into the meta. I feel like it's still too early to jump to conclusions about what kind of effect they will have on game-play, who knows, they might still be in development. Anything before it goes live in the main servers should not be taken as final.
-
Also one more thing to note is that before this update hits, a Repair Kit is the only thing that's between you and fire and freeze damage (not the actual damage from the turrets Firebird and Freeze, but from their respective effects), as long as we don't count a teammate Isida. Even the Lifeguard drone health boost is not enough to counter Mk7/Mk7+ afterburn. This adds another way to counter those effects, but how will they affect game balance and the meta - that's something we can discuss. Let's also not forget the Smoky incendiary and cryo rounds. Using one of the immunity alterations will just make you take normal damage from an enemy Smoky, even if he's using one of the aforementioned alterations. Soon Wasp players with Fire immunity...
-
In test server you already are at Marshal rank so there's really no real way to confirm it right now. However, judging by their prices and comparing them to drone unlocks, I'd say the 250k ones will be around or at Marshal, and 5k ones will be in the Warrant Officer range. Keep in mind the using EMP Protection will only allow you to keep your supplies after Hunter activates its Overdrive. You are still stopped right in your tracks, but don't lose your supplies. I think the same goes for Gauss alteration, it wont take off your supplies. No way to confirm this at the moment, not until all other alterations are released (for other hulls). However, I meant that if you use Wasp, you would technically be able to equip four modules: any three of your choice + Fire / Freeze 50% hull alteration.
-
Guys, I think the immunity is only regarding burn damage, not actual invincibility from Fire or Freeze. It probably just means you will neither take self-damage from over-heating nor the after-burn will be able to damage you. Technically speaking if you equip Vulcan + Wasp, you will be able to shoot forever. Also the 50% ones seem to be fully-upgraded modules you can equip as fourth protective module, but again, it's only for Wasp.
-
Use: Complete immunity to fire damage. (Fire immunity 100%) Complete immunity to freeze damage. (Freeze Immunity 100%) Just says "EMP protection" - Hunter OD (possibly Gauss alteration too) is unable to disable your supplies, it still stops you though. Adds weight, by a lot. Decreases weight. Additional fire protection. (Fire protection 50%) Additional freeze protection. (Freeze protection 50%) Keep in mind you can only equip one at a certain time.
-
Costs: These *voice trembles with uncertainty* probably are/could be placeholder prices but one thing for sure, they are in the garage. - 5 000 crystals - 250 000 crystals
-
If you haven't already, head on over to the test server to play with the new hull alterations. However, keep in mind that Wasp is the only hull yet to receive them. Here they are: Fire Immunity Freeze Immunity EMP Protection More Mass Less Mass Fire Protection Freeze Protection I've made a very basic video on the alterations "More Mass" and "Less Mass", which are going to be very useful for parkour. Check it out: What do you think?

? Myself - Wiki Admin, Newspaper Admin, Discord Admin (if this can be added in here somewhere, however back then position was unofficial.) Add @Past as former Wiki Editor (he had other positions as well, right?)

Better idea - make a cosmetic "goal explosion" item that appears every time above your tank (like rank-up effect) when you capture flags or score a goal in rugby. It could be anything from a advanced rank-up effect, to butterflies shooting out of your tank and from a tornado to a snow storm that causes snow to appear above the flag podium/goal post. Give these cosmetics rarities, add some in containers, some (the cooler ones) in shop and release one or two in monthly Challenges. The effect lasts only for a few seconds and becomes yet another "status symbol" in the game.

This was a good and informative read. I haven't had the time to properly take Vulcan for a stroll in Matchmaking battles but can already get a grip of what to expect from this article. Nicely formatted as well.

Quick and easy read, good job. Personally I would prefer using a non-map related header image (like a illustrative textual design) and then opted to somehow use visual images of maps to divide between the sections. Nonetheless, the first Lincoln quote made me chuckle, so...
-
I wish I could but I somehow completely lost all of those pictures, including some of which showcased different reactions of people in the battle.

Congratulations @iFrosTiger - hope you do well in the candidacy!

Congratulations to all the Best Helpers of the year! ?

Thank you all for the kind comments! Don't have much time so here's a one-emoji reply to all of the wholesome content above, hehe ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ?

Hey all, Tanki Online has been quite a ride for me – an almost five year journey that started way back in the ending months of 2015. When I first joined the game it was the time when players would be challenging each other to a thirty-kill victory in Desert deathmatches, trying to take the pillar Gold Box in Madness or playing for hours on end in a Wasp-Firebird battle waiting for the Gold to drop. Those were simpler times, and its perplexing to think just how far this game has come. I first became a moderator in October 2016 when GoldRock invited me to join the Newspaper team after my works in the Amateur Writing Club, and from there on started a long road towards the point at which I am now. In this time span I managed to work under seven different Administrators: GoldRock, Night-Sisters, Shedinja, Flexoo and Vikingsrallentando, as well as Galaxy and Maf. It was an unending tale of teamwork, cooperation, dedicated and tireless work with the many people I met during my years as a Helper. In the summer months of 2017, I became a Wiki Editor, and then a year and bit later, got promoted to the position of Wiki Admin. In the end of 2018, I was also part of the three-man team that initiated and developed the official Tanki Online Discord server. All the people I have worked with, I appreciate everything you've done not for just me but all of us as a community throughout the years. So thank you everyone, for your timely help and support, without which I may have not been able to achieve what I have in my career. And to you, readers of the Newspaper, entrants of its many contests, winners of the many promotional codes I gave away as Discord Administrator, suggestion-givers in the Wiki Hub, testers of the Wiki's new functions, and dear forumers in general, thank you too. Thank you for all the laughs and likes, criticism, suggestions and views. Without your support many of the features or changes we made in the Wiki or Newspaper would not have been thought of or even possible. I'm stepping down from my position as a Wiki and Newspaper Administrator and Helpers in general. Unfortunately, the time has come for me to part ways with the Tanki Online and focus more on real life. Blame university, studies and long driving hours. This community is diverse mix of people from all over the globe, and to me it has been a home that always welcomed no matter how badly I messed something up. Keep it that way and keep the bonds that keep it together strong, for whatever is to come! Goodbye! ? P.S I'll try and visit the forum once in a while, and if you have any questions you may ask me here.
