Here you're examining the actions of Tech Support, and then assuming that they reflect the feelings of all the Tanki staff and community helpers. No wonder you're going to have a bad image of TO management. You're completely right, Tech Support does not speak English well, and they don't care about player complaints. That's because they're not CMs, and they're not community helpers. They're workers who are trained to deal with the same small set of common account issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. If Alternativa only took people who spoke English, the labor costs would go way up. And if Alternativa instructed them to listen to player complains and relay them, their rate of work would go plummeting. If your account is stolen or hacked, that's when you contact Tech Support. If you want to talk to someone who cares, come to the forums and talk to a community helper, Cedric, or Hazel. Yes, actual TO employees can be difficult to reach (though Cedric is exceptionally talkative and responsive, so things are looking up) and I do think that's something TO should work on. Not because it's necessarily best to follow everything the players want to see in the game, but because it's good to have a healthy community in which concerns are met.

But do they? One of the most gorgeous things about writing and all art for me is that in some way, visceral or cerebral, subtle as it may be, everyone recognizes the power of it. That's simply untrue. Go read Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest. Go read Catcher in the Rye. Go read Tom Wolfe or Junot Diaz. Go read.

I think you didn't quite get the magnitude of Cedric's point. He's not saying most things are complicated to change, he's saying every single tiny thing is complicated to change. Nonetheless you bring forth a very good point Swift, and I think it's one we should all heed. The smallest of details matters, and the needs of players should not be neglected.

How am I feeling? I'm feeling due to a complex neural network coursing through my body and engaged in loops of feedback with my brain. All seriousness aside, I'm feeling relaxed ;)

Surrealist Tanki photography?

Almost, my friend

LOL, this took me at least several weeks. I remember multiple times sitting on my empty flag base with the enemy flag on my tank, assuming that some stupid glitch was preventing me from capturing. Then one day some random guy told me we need to have both flags to capture. How's that for a noob memory?

[Forum Game] The player with no like on his/her post wins.

If you like this post, you will be injured by a gold box falling on your head irl tomorrow -
Hm yes, that would explain why they're building this epic new clan system, continually working on game balance, developing two new turrets...

But they had a sale the other day isn't that clear evidence all they want is money?? sarcasm

Hey, me too. Isn't right here such a wonderful place to be?

I think "Tanki is dying" is the battle cry of noobs -- the logic being that if Tanki is about to die, who cares if they just got 7-0'd in that 1v1? :D

Ooh, good topic! As you might guess by my username, I play mandolin. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's an instrument derived from the lute that was initially used in baroque and classical music, and has now been adapted to folk music, mainly fiddling and bluegrass. It's also worked its way into some forms of jazz. I'll put some of my favorite music below, some of which includes a bit of mandolin: Sons of the East -- Come Away (folk) Django Reinhardt -- Minor Swing (gypsy jazz) Sufjan Stevens -- John My Beloved (indie folk) Edgar Meyer -- Big Country (bluegrass) (mandolin included!) Каспийский Груз -- Я не люблю (rap) Punch Brothers -- Julep (newgrass) (mandolin included!) Moray West -- Queen of the Night (classical) Bon Iver -- Holocene (indie folk) Del & Dawg -- Tennessee Waltz (bluegrass) (mandolin included!) Iron and Wine -- Such Great Heights (folk) Let me know if you come across anything you particularly like in the list above, or if you have some suggestions for me!

[Forum] What do you think it would be like if just about every topic wasn't locked instantly?
MandolinMarc replied to hhgb in Archive
Agreed -- I think it's a bit regrettable that this is the case, since Skype is more closed-off by nature than the Forum. It can be hard for new players to navigate their way through the community when it's all hidden from them. -
Mainly Cedric, but please don't spam him with your art, he has enough on his plate already

I thought I'd let you guys know, I'm actively watching this thread to look for fan art to post on the TO Facebook page. I'm not actually the one posting -- I just help the CMs by finding art for them and letting them choose what to post when they decide the page could benefit from a bit of community art. So keep up the good work and I'll do my best to help you guys get the exposure you deserve!

Review [Issue 51] Beauty in Tanki - TNT's View
MandolinMarc replied to TriNitroToIuene in Newspaper Archive
I clicked on the article thinking it was a philosophical analysis of the presence of beauty in Tanki... you know, not aesthetic beauty, but the beauty that is behind all that we as humans are drawn to. Man, I would've loved some Tanki-related philosophy, but your article is well done nonetheless. The thing is, I feel like I'd have a lot to say on a topic like the one I described above, but it would be so tough to make my thoughts concise and simple. I don't mean just organizing my thoughts... I mean making them pointed and clear, instead of some hand-wavy psuedo-philosophical stuff. I'd absolutely love to see a reporter give this a shot. What a task it would be. -
Good point, but I'm sure that the attackers would realize that the battle has been pre-recorded, even if it isn't announced openly. I think the best course of action would be to openly say at the beginning of the stream that this battle isn't live due to server troubles -- it would still be fun to watch since nobody knows the outcome yet.

Coming soon to a Facebook page near you... MINE HUNT!

You sound like my school librarian when my friend and I are getting a bit noisy  All seriousness aside, your point is a valid one. It's pretty common to see people typing something along the lines of "stop typing and play" in team chat, and for good reason too. The only real solution to this problem would be in-game voice chat, which would be a bit clunky and wouldn't fully solve the problem. So yeah, I guess a forum rant is your best shot.
