I love it! You should seriously consider doing a series of articles where you come up with creative explanations for aspects of Tanki, like maps, gold boxes, crystals, etc. It would be the best if you could make it coherent (explain all these aspects with one overarching theme). The other day I read a forum post by noting that Tanki doesn't have any creative backstory like some games do. Tell me if you think it's worth a shot. As for the article itself, it's nicely structured but it's a bit short. I'd like more free-form elaboration and contemplation of different strategies. Also, some video clips would be pretty useful.

[Issue 46] [Interview] A Leader's Perspective
MandolinMarc replied to Night-Sisters in Newspaper Archive
Well done! I used to be a clan leader myself; I led the Tier 2 clan Sun Warriors. I came upon the clan's forum page at the rank of WO3 when I was looking for a very well organized clan, which is exactly what I found. The leader, @Nick_Furry, was remarkably dedicated, level-headed, and logical, and clan trainings became something I looked forward to a lot. It was my first experience going beyond casual gameplay of Tanki, or of any other online game for that matter. I was also starting to meet other players and befriend them, something I certainly didn't expect when I registered for Tanki. As the clan grew, Nick invited me to become a co-leader since he saw that I shared many of his organization traits as well. A month or so later, he suddenly decided to leave the game, without an explanation. He forewarned me of this and worked hard to ensure a smooth transition for the clan, and in the Spring of 2015 I became leader. It was incredible to be at the head of this group of players that I loved, but at the same time it was a lot of work. When I got home every afternoon, my Inbox would have at least 15-20 new PMs to respond to; applications, questions, requests to play in a clan war, clan war requests, etc. It soon became apparent to me why Nick decided to leave... leading a clan well is a huge responsibility. We went on a 9-0 streak in clan wars before getting our first loss which was tough to handle. Later that spring I tried to shift my leadership style from pure organization to a looser, more laid-back style. I wanted the clan to be more like a family and less like a group of tankers in training. But when the summer rolled by, I decided my time with the clan was done, and I stepped down and gave leadership. The clan later closed and re-opened a few months ago, but it isn't quite the same as when we were all little Warrant Officers. After CSW I began to meet more and more players and become involved in more and more aspects of the game. But I'll never forget the clan that started it all ^_^ -

There are a couple of incorrect names in the new Product Kits page (which is really helpful by the way!): This should say "Guardian Kit" This should say "Raiden Kit" This should say "Medic Kit" This should say "Atlas Kit"

A few months ago Tanki implemented an anti-cheat system designed to get rid of jump hackers who would fly around the map stealing gold boxes. It has succeeded in getting rid of jump hackers, but it also sometimes generates a false positive. That is, sometimes it makes non-hackers self destruct when their tank is moving in odd ways, which normally happens when they are on top of another tank. It can be frustrating, but it happens rarely, and it's much less frustrating than a jump hacker.

Being called a drugger by someone on your own team? Now that is something! You'd think they'd be grateful to have someone to do it for them.

Philosophical Troll: The Adventures of an Enlightened Rascal
MandolinMarc replied to MandolinMarc in Philosophical Troll: The Adventures of an Enlightened Rascal Archive
Philosophical Troll the adventures of an enlightened rascal It was a calm winter night, and the philosophical troll found himself pondering the relationship between the mind and the body whilst idly playing a round of Polygon CP. As his train of thought came to an end and his eyes drifted over to the battle chat, he saw some unenlightened gold hunters discussing their materialistic ambitions: Feeling a sense of duty to shake these poor souls out of their oblivion, the philosopher interrupted their conversation with a line of jarring depth: But alas, the philosopher's efforts were in vain, and along trudged the souls in their dark oblivion: Yet the philosophical troll's failure only caused the fire to burn brighter. Now he felt not only a duty to enlighten his friends and foes in the battle arena, but also a moral obligation. So, after the gold that all the players on the battle field had been pining for finally fell, he seized the opportunity: But yet again, the philosophers' words failed to lift his fellow tankers' eyes to any higher horizons. Their perpetual quest for more crystals, more sales, and more equipment remained unbroken. Alas, Tanki sets forth to us a cycle of earning more crystals and buying more equipment. But, my dear reader, do not let this cycle keep you from experiencing the depth this project. Do not let the daily missions assigned to your account every day after the server restart become your only missions in the realm of Tanki. Be creative. Meet people. Form ideas. Let them be challenged. Challenge other people's ideas. And most importantly, don't be afraid to get philosophical.- 32 replies

3 big fat noobs with fancy paints: I went into a battle with Mammy M0, Twins M0, and Helper equipped just because I love the way that combo looks, and I found another player of the exact same rank with Mammy M1, Twins M0, and MOP! And it gets better... we went to a private battle to take pictures and he invited his friend of the same rank who also has Mammy M1 and MOP. What are the odds?!

I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to stay that way  Er...
