To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about these cups being all guns/hulls/paints, instead of XP. On one hand, StarLadder thus far has been entirely light format and XP (aside from Hexathlon and Hardstyle), so this adds a bit of diversity. On the other hand, I find that XP games contain much more depth in strategy and are more interesting both to play and to watch. But then again, that's just my personal opinion. We'll see how it goes!

That's some pretty darn impressive Photoshop! You can tell he didn't just copy and paste someone else with Wasp+Fire XT, as you've got Microchip on

Well thanks, but in my humble opinion I've got a looong way to go before I'm anywhere close to the height of the one and only true forum troll @canadarules :P -

Is your mind blown or is your mind blown? -
As flawed and unfair as this case is, I find it very very unlikely that your not being Russian has anything to do with it. And by the way congrats on all those golds

You can't get addicted to studies, though you can get addicted to grades. -

No, no, I'm not going to report you -- you've done nothing that could get you banned. I'm just saying, I keep seeing you and Dilsharox post extremely brief replies to threads. I think that out of courtesy to other forumers, it would be nice if you made fewer, more detailed replies, rather than lots of short replies.
-
Why do you two guys post so many extremely brief replies like this on the forum? Just to up your post count? It's getting close to the point of flooding, if you ask me.

I saw this topic and was like o_0, canadarules posted something nice? Then I clicked on it and was like yeah, that's what I thought.

Maybe Tanki's getting boring... for you. Is that really Tanki's fault?
-
Just wow.

I have left this clan.

If you could add me to March 29th that would be superb :)

Not to be that one negative guy, but there was just recently a thread for players to post their in-game stories.

TonyLiKiller123: Sabotage

Firstly, the current game balance in Tanki is carefully calculated (and frequently re-calculated) by analyzing game data from hundreds of thousands of players. Of course it's never perfect, but considering that the ideas you have for changing game balance are based upon your in-game experience alone, it only makes sense that the current game balance is beyond a doubt more even than your it would be with your proposed changes. I'm not trying to be mean here -- but numbers don't lie, and the current game balance is based upon lots of them, whereas your proposed changes aren't. Second, the idea that having the ability to play all maps as a Recruit would make players play in a greater variety of maps doesn't make much sense to me. If you could provide more explanation I'd be glad to read it.

I just tell my friends, "turn your turret to the right if you're banned." Genius! All seriousness aside, not a bad idea.

Hey folks! You can scroll right by this post -- I'm just in a cranky mood ok. I hate Ricochet. There is a special place in hell for forumers who write like this ^_^ Lion XT? Ermagherd genius

This has got to be one of the greatest posts I've ever read in the forum -- such a simple yet interesting story. I figure I'll pitch in with the story of my noob days. I found Tanki in June 2014 when I was looking for a good online game to play. I didn't have the password to administrative accounts on any computers at my home, which means I couldn't download a game. So, I figured I'd try out this little Russian tank game. I got pretty into the game right from the beginning -- my favorite combos were Viking+Shaft and Hornet+Isida. This was back in the day of custom battle names, old gold mechanism, no drop zones, and crystal boxes. While those 4 features do bring back a lot of nostalgia, I think the battle list update, gold update, drop zone update, and removal of crystal boxes were all good decisions. The battle list was especially nice, as most battle names were something silly like "gold box rain @ 15min" or "plz join gold." It was also pretty hard to find a particular game you were looking for. Anyway, I had a pleasant first few months as a tanker. I made two good friends whom I still contact in-game once in a while; @rayray108 and @lilRedthemaster. I played a couple of Viking Shaft duels which were way more fun than they sound, and I had fun abusing the crystal drops system by just camping in the middle of the map and snagging crystal boxes. No wonder they removed them! Then, all of the sudden, I decided that Tanki was a waste of my time, and a really dumb game. So, I thought of a clever way to force myself to quit -- I wrote down a random jumble of letters on a piece of paper, set my password to that, then threw away the paper. Just for good measure, I wasted the 10,000 crystals that I was saving for an M1 on random paints and MUs that I didn't need. A few weeks later, and I'm missing Tanki already. Such a weird game... but I love it so much! Now I'm mad at myself for getting rid of my account and wasting its crystals. But wait, all hope is not lost! A few weeks before I quit, there was this promotion where if you link your account to an email, you receive 2,000 crystals. Naturally, I linked my account to an email as soon as the promotion went live. So, I'd be able to recover my account by email! Thank god for that event. But there was a problem -- when I sent the account recovery link to my email, I would click the link, and it would just show me a log-in screen, instead of letting me set up a new password. Weird. So, I made another account. But it just wasn't the same. I wanted my old account back. I was only on that first account, but I thought it would be the most horribly burdensome thing to work my way all the way back up to that rank. So, that was the end of Tanki. Or was it? Fast-forward to March 2015. I'm on spring break, and all of the sudden my thoughts wander to Tanki for no particularly good reason. I take a look at the Tanki homepage and find that a lot has happened since I was gone -- for one, two new turrets were added to the game! I decide to start another new account called SocraticSniper. King name pls! But right after I start playing on SocraticSniper, I decide it's worth a shot to try recovering my first account, MandolinMarc. I try it once more, crossing my fingers... and IT WORKS! I don't believe it! After 8 long months, I'm back on MandolinMarc! Now remember that I'm only , but I feel like a king. Look at all that experience! Look at all those M0s! ...and the rest is history ;) Well, there you have it -- that's the tale of my noob days in Tanki.

I personally find the addition of a laser made shaft a much more interesting gun. Before, you would just set up camp and wait for someone to come into your field of view. Now, you have to be more clever.
