    Upcoming Sales

^Tanker's Day in September, usually not as good discounts though If you can stand the wait, take it easy and save your crystals for the Christmas sale. I know that looks far away but it's really not.

    Live Q&A - Winners

Just got around to watching, and wanted to thank you again for doing these!

Episode 134 of the V-LOG is here

I agree with you about the seemingly erratic path the designers have taken with Pro vs Standard battles since the inception of the Battle button. I've posted as much in other threads. It makes no sense. Tanki can't seem to decide where it wants its players. They're incentivizing players toward Standard battles yet making Standard battles the least amount of fun as possible. SMH.

^ unnecessarily harsh. Moreover Cedric's vision or lack thereof regarding game mechanics is irrelevant. He's the community manager and not involved in a game mechanics in any way. As a CM, I've found his vision superior to his predecessor.

Bonus & Discount Cards are in the game!

I tend to agree with you. More cards in the game = less chance of getting the one you want/need. Old Double Crystal Card could be expected once or twice a week. Now...??? Good thing I snagged mine while I had the chance

Bonus & Discount Cards are in the game!

Thank you for reposting. The critical fact is the Crystal discount card is 25% not 50%, thus the Bonus Crystal Card is the much better deal. It should be noted however that the much better deal requires the higher payment of real money. This should not come as a surprise to any veteran player.

Bonus & Discount Cards are in the game!

Looks like the Bydolord deleted the original and maybe some follow up posts, so I can't see the discount picture to check the percentage. But I'm pretty confident the Bonus (was DCC) Card is the better deal, especially at the higher price points when the in-package crystal bonus is better anyway. Double that with the bonus card, and your crystal yield is 'double' better ;) A little math assuming 50% best case discount vs 100% known bonus applied to $100 USD package (143k + 215k = 358k Crystals)... -Discount Crystal Card gets you 358k Crystals for $50 USD or 7.16k Crystals per USD -Bonus (Double) Crystal Card gets you 716k Crystals for $100 USD or 7.16k Crystals per USD I was wrong. The savings is the same, assuming a 50% discount card. If the crystal discount is less than 50% off it's obviously a worse deal.

Episode 134 of the V-LOG is here

I'm intrigued by the map changes to Silence (I forget the other one). Making all battles 10x10 seems questionable. Larger maps like Kungur and Soliamsk (pardon spelling) may become less interesting with fewer players. I also continue to struggle with the concept of the Battle button. I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it to create a battle and actually play to the end. 99% of the times I've used it, I just leave after two minutes when no one else joins.

Bonus & Discount Cards are in the game!

You are seeing crystal discount, not crystal bonus card. The real money price is lower but the number of crystals is unchanged. I received the crystal bonus card the other day (no screen shot sorry) but I can confirm that it is still double.

 Personal Discount Also wondering if the name change from Double Crystal Card to Bonus Crystal Card opens the door for a future reduction in bonus crystals...

What kind of players makes you cringe?

    Would this be toture?

More modules Then some paints But definitely save for whatever is introduced next Never spend yourself completely dry
  13. Yep, lower priced pay offerings would do well. I think that might be coming with the recently announced bonus cards, but time will tell. The prices in the shop now just scare off potential buyers. I mean $40-$100 for kits and crystal packages? Oof, the only decent deal is the month of Premium for USD $10. The semi-recent partnership with Steam seems like a marketing win, but to the point about transparency, we've heard nothing about how effective the Steam tie-in has been at attracting new players. It doesn't seem like it. My 2 cents - the game needs a good marketing campaign in order to bring in new players. Player retention is also a real problem. My friends list is full of players who have abandoned the game, mostly due to the recent unpopular updates. The mission update seems to have driven off the most players, despite it being IMO one of the less dramatic changes. Game designers are trying to combat player loss by keeping the game interesting, meaning frequent gameplay updates. The problem is these updates occur too frequently and upset the very players Tanki wants to keep. This calendar year seems like a constant struggle to keep up with changing gameplay and logistics. Some good things have happened. We got two new turrets. MUs became less expensive. Premium got a daily bonus. Buyers get more options and goodies. Holidays continue to feature special maps and modes. These kinds of things have kept me in the game. ~Austen :)
  14. Some very good points here. I actually left the game for a month then came back, for the May sale. I'm sticking around for the June sale, but after that???

    Your Best Friend in TankiOnline.

Many of my Tanki friends have left recently. I'm on mobile so can't do a full inventory but (many of these were also active in the forum) - Darren4Turbo RicoViking9000 PincessSeraphina (later Phoenix.Rising, ultimately Phoenix.No.More) namesareforboobs Ihatepasswordisback mserbia (later Phoenix.Raised)
  16. I usually play on RU servers, but today was just ugh. I played three hours of Poly CP battles. I don't think my team won a single one. I joined winning teams - some ahead by 20-30 points, then inevitably the reverse would happen and no matter how hard I tried we always lost, usually by a lot. Bad luck day? Maybe. Time will tell. Battle chat was a wake up call too. I had players fussing at me in Russian. Doesn't normallly happen even on old RU servers.
  17. Server merging is a good thing. EN1 is/was desolate. EN2 wasn't much better. As a Legend 3 (and as far back as Fieldmarshal) I had to switch to RU2 and RU3 to find decent battles. This change saves me a step. Not sure about matchmaking... sounds kinda ominous. Also not sure about the rumblings about PRO pass disappearing. Wait and see I guess. Paint and sale? Mildly interested to see the new paints but will wait until morning in US
  18. Joining against you was accidental. I joined Blue just prior to the end of battle so that I would be on Red from the beginning of the next round. If I remember correctly, you switched sides (back to Red in order to cap flags) that next round, so we ended up on the same team anyway  .
  19. I know you are pissed at me from way back in Assault Mode but you are correct. Premium is additive. I have proven this myself on numerous occasions.

What is your approach to playing the game now?

I've started playing M4 Titan Freeze on defense in CTF battles. Camping at or near our flag and foiling enemy offensive runs for our flag. Use lots of mines shields and double damage. Usually I'll join a losing team and try to turn around the battle, but I won't join 0 Capture battles - I have to see that the losing team is at least moderately capable of holding their own on offense and defensive assist.
  21. You go with what works. Titan Hammer DD with Fire protection I assume against Wasp Fire on smal maps would be a slaughter. Me, I'm giving this event a pass. Just not interested in grinding for a paint. I'm already Premium and adequately stocked with gold boxes. I should clarify - I'm not interested in grinding for Liquid Metal. IMO the paint is a disappointment. It should look shiny and silver but with the current graphics it just looks like the existing Metallic paint. Meh.

    Yeah time to close this

  24. Woah, woah, woah - that won't happen until you reach M3 ranks. Advice at that level is COMPLETELY different than what we've all been saying so far. After all, the entire point of saving all those crystals is to be able to spend effectively at M3, when the game suddenly shifts to an M3/M4 buyer/drugger nightmare. No surprise many players quit at Fieldmarshal or Commander. Play starts to seriously suck for the unprepared. For what it's worth, M3+ advice looks like -buy two or three protection modules against common turrets which hurt you the most; upgrade those modules to 40-45% protection based on how rich you are -if you used Hornet, ditch it - you just won't survive long enough in drug wars -buy Hunter for Medium and large maps and Titan for small ones -double up on turrets - get two short range, two medium range, and two long range (in that order) - try for turrets which are not covered by a single protection module -buy alterations sparingly as they are very expensive, low on effectiveness and get nerfed a lot -still don't buy paints Someone else said maybe consider putting some real money into the game. Marshal to Generalissimo would be the ranks to do this, when you could buy your way to superior equipment than others at your rank. Once you get to Legend, forget about any hope of superiority since Legends will have full M4 garages with 50% modules in every battle.
